My mom and I had a wonderful dining experience on Friday on the patio. We both got the pan-fried haddock dinner which came with cauliflower mashed potatoes, red cabbage cole slaw and a salad. There were other choices for side dishes. Our server, Jamie was very kind and attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make our selections. We will definitely return.

Great service, nice bar drink selection. Our group had the prime rib, salmon, and ribeye - all were delicious! Only dissappointment was the small plate brussel sprouts - soggy rather than fried as described on menu.

We had a wonderful waitress, Jamie. It was our first time here and she didn’t miss a beat. Extremely efficient and full of energy. Amelia was also very kind. Music played was pleasant. French Dip was great and I highly recommend asking for their delicious whiskey bbq sauce on the side. I upgraded to a gooey goodness double baked potato and it was fantastic. However the lava cake was even better, heavenly…

The restaurant was beautiful, elegant & a trip back to the golden years. The pulled pork sandwich with a twice baked potato was fantastic; the bbq sauce was especially flavorful. The lava cake with ice cream was out of this world! The cake was so soft & delicious. Our waitress Jamie was the best & very prompt. Amelia was also very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

The supper club we usually go to was closed on Tuesdays so I googled and happened upon the Moonlight. To start with I branched off of my usual Old Fashioned and had the smokey old fashioned which was unique and yummy. I had the filet mignon med rare and husband had the rib eye rare and both were done to perfection. If you have room after the delicious meal, you should try their desserts. Both the tirimisu and cheescake were rich and delectable. Service was spot on. Nicole gave wonderful suggestions and she and the person she was training were very attentive. You can't go wrong on this place. I also discovered they are also a hotel (The Port Hotel) with rooms upstairs.

Okay we went on a Saturday night, it was not overly busy or anything. We made a reservation and were seated right away. The first thing we got were drinks, the old fashion was extremely sweet and you couldn’t even taste alcohol, the mojito was served with mint that was so rotten it was probably 50% black and after I fished all of the rotten mint out I was left with an ironically artificially mint tasting drink, we didn’t drink/finish either. We then got the spinach artichoke dip as an app and I’m not joking it was 95% cream cheese. It was served with box crackers so also not appetizing. To make it decent we had to just go crazy with the table pepper but it was not great eating warm cream cheese with crackers. We got soup and salad with our meals the salad was standard but the baked French onion soup was sad. The onions weren’t caramelized at all it just seemed like they were softened by boiling in the broth and the broth tasted like chicken broth… not what I look for in a French onion soup. We got the prime rib and twice baked potatoes and they were less than fine. I’ve had better dining experiences at bars by a billion and also the server spilled one of the drinks all over the table and menus and like ran away and didn’t even acknowledge it lol we had to clean it up and ask for another dinner napkin. For the price, this is NOT worth it at all

This place is an adorable little gem. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and food. We ended up eating at the bar because we didn’t realize there was a different entrance and dining area but the bartender was super pleasant and we didn’t mind the old time bar feel. If you’re looking for a supper club vibe, this is a good one!

We went to the moonlight Tavern on 5/17 to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had not been there since it was the Port Hotel. The 4 in our party were very pleased with every aspect of our dining experience. From the friendly waiter, Avery, to our food choices - Tuscan Shrimp pasta, Beef Tenderloin, Caesar’s Salad with shrimp, Chop Chop Salad with chicken , baked French onion soup & caramel cheesecake) were prepared perfectly. I hope others will find this restaurant. Atmosphere+Friendliness+ Food+ Price = A+

The food was SO good! We all enjoyed our food so much that we left very full and couldn’t say yes to dessert.

I cannot say enough good things though when it came to our server Mary. She was phenomenal! She was kind, checked in on us(not too much and not too little), she was on top of it! This is truly what made our experience. Thank you Mary for making our friends birthday a little extra special.

This is a place that I really want to love. But I've gone three times and while the ingredients are high quality, the finished product is just off. Fish fry was decent, but the fries were undercooked and a greasy mess. I had the stroganoff and it was bland, and I was so excited to finally get to try a beef Wellington! But it was a half portion filet mignon, way too heavy on the seasoning and overcooked. For $45 I expected better. My mom had the cheese steak and it was dry and incredibly salty. She had the prime rib once too, and I've got to say that was quite incredible. The au jus wasnt great, but the steak didn't really need it. They are so close to greatness. I've got a feeling I may have just been unlucky and that their primary issue is consistency.

Such a breath of fresh air to have this incredible place in town! Their happy hour specials are absolutely insane. Best cheese curds I've EVER had. I went with a party of 8. I had prime rib and it was overdone and bland. I would say nearly half of us were unhappy with our meals. The others loved their meal. Because there were 8 of us we were put in a room that looked like it used to be a video game room. Our waitress was very stressed out and could not keep anything straight. If I were to guess, I would say she started less that a month before. She tried her best.

It started out strong, the Brandy Old Fashioned and the salad and soup were all outstanding. The problem was the Saturday night prime rib. First, it was served while we were still eating our soup and salad, giving us no time to digest between courses. My Prime Rib came out a bit overdone, but no so much that I would send it back. It was flavorful but mine had an unusually high amount of fat even for a prime rib, and my companion's was tough and had a lot of gristle in it. The baked potatoes are small potatoes cut in half, removing the ability to mix in butter and sour cream and cooling off far quicker than a standard size baked potato would. My other companion's beef stroganoff was very good, which made this review 3 stars instead of two.

Overall an underwhelming meal.

We hosted our son’s Rehearsal Dinner at Moonlight Tavern recently, and it was a wonderful experience! We had a total of 41 guests, and were able to be seated very comfortably in the back private room of the restaurant. Anders (the owner) was very responsive and accommodating, and made the planning process go very smoothly. The dinner itself could not have gone better. All our guests raved about the food, and the service was top-notch. Anders and the wait staff helped make our special event a great success. We came here after reading all the 5-star reviews and were absolutely disappointed. In a nutshell, overpriced food and mediocre service. To be fair, we were warned about new kitchen staff and possible delays, yet who would imagine a 2 hour wait for food that requires 15 minutes to cook. To starts off, we got “Rockefeller” style oysters, it took kitchen 30 minutes to get those done. Also, for some reason they had cheese on them? Simply, they weren’t good and definitely not Rockefeller style. After that, we spent over an hour waiting for our main courses. The waitress didn’t check in on us until we were about to leave without eating. There was nothing special about main courses either, nothing worthy of a 2-hours wait. Everyone in our section/room seemed to experience the same issue, multiple tables left before getting their food. At the end, we weren’t offered a discount or anything to make up for our wasted time.

Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice and reminded me of the old Port Hotel days. Jennifer M. was our server and she was fantastic. We were seated right away and we were given some fantastic focaccia bread. We ordered the wedge salad for starters and it was very good. I ordered the filet sandwich with fries. The filet was so good and the fries were probably the best fries I have had. They were thin with a perfect amount of sea salt. Even the pickle spear was better than most restaurants. We shared a piece of tiramisu which was huge and very tasty. Prices were reasonable and they have a rewards program. Would absolutely recommend.

First time at Moonlight for our anniversary. Wife had Scallops Carbonara. Served with a white sauce and prosciutto. Simply put, it was very very good. Scallops were cooked and seasoned to perfection over a bed of Cavatappi noodles. I tried it, and found it absolutely delicious. My dish was Lobster Mac n Brie. That was a different outcome. Lobster claw pieces were way overcooked. Cavatappi had breading on top which was put under a broiler too long - turning the pasta into crunch bricks in spots. Wait staff was given feedback, which they passed on. Finished meal with Crème Brûlée, which was delicious. Salads were simple but very fresh. Dressing was homemade and tasty. So… a bit mixed. Home run and a foul ball. Certainly will come back to try the fish fry.

which is upsetting when it's so expensive and not even topped off. It tasted like all lemon juice no vodka or simple syrup. Anyone bashing this restaurant for being overpriced should stick to their normal trip to the Golden Corral. Service was good, food tasted fantastic. I ordered the skewered giant prawns (3) for $38.00. When my order came I got 5 sickly looking medium sized shrimp. The waitress apologized and got the mgr. The mgr came and blamed the waitress for not telling us that they no longer have the large prawns and the vendor can't get the. Take it off the menu then. My husband's shrimp scampi was larger than my $38 five shrimp. I'm pretty sure they were old too. I took one bite and it was mushy and fishy, rancid tasting. The mgr was going to discount the order. The waitress made sure the meal was taken off completely. First time they're after hearing great things but I guess you can't believe everything you hear. We won't be back. Katie the waitress was great but that was it. The mgt. Need some more customer service training. I wish I could post the picture of my meal.

If you're looking to spend about $15 on a cocktail... this it the bar for you. Probably the only bar in Port where you can spend that much on a single short cocktail. In Port. Its not downtown Milwaukee or Chicago, its Port. Did I mention its in Port and the cocktails can exceed FIFTEEN DOLLARS? lol, cmon. Is this some sort of joke? I won't be going back. 4 drinks is SIXTY DOLLARS plus a decent tip cause its not the bartenders fault... Good news is if you happen to want to day drink on Tuesday, AND they happen to be open, you have access to a very mediocre happy hour that of course doesn't include the laughbaly priced cocktails.

Edit: Apparently it matters what cocktail I had. I ordered four, from the chalkboard, right next to the bar. Choose any of those. TBF, the one I had was fine. And none of our group complained about their cocktail... they also didn't complain about not having to pay the bill. Put any drink on the chalkboard for less than 10 dollars, and we can revist this conversation. Otherwise, I don't see a reason to go here for the drinks. Any other bar in Port can provide adequate cocktails for half the price or better. I've paid less than these prices for high end manhattans, in Manhattan.

Nice atmosphere. Nice location in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Pretty good customer service. The food looked delicious; however, the potato tasted and looked like it had been in the warmer all day. The lobster roll looked and tasted really good; however, I felt it "the quantity" of the lobster was lacking. The establishment did not WOW ME with the roll and the potato.

We have a very old rembrance of the Port Hotel when the food and atmosphere was great. Unfortunately times have changed!! Prices and food quality have not followed the past. You expect high standards when you go to a restaurant like this but they where sub-par! First, shocked the bartender Austin could keep track of what we drank or even could keep count. Between the 3 of us we had $150 sitting on the bar when we had our first drink. We would have thought our drinks would have been taken out of the money we had sitting there but it was not. Then when it was time to go to the table we asked for the bill at the bar and we were handed a bill of $110! Understandable we were surprised, but never knew the cost of what we were drinking. Austin was slow to service the customer, and we told him twice we had reservations! We understand,, keeping the customer at the bar brings more revenue than at the table. Additionally we were seated after our reservation time with a totally empty bar!! Once seated at the table, we ordered red snapper, prime rib, and the rib eye. It was ok, just ok! The red snapper was very cold and extremely salty. The other two plates were ok but when dipped in the au jus it was very salty!!! Sub par to us and very pricey for everything. The waitstaff was great, but not the old Port Hotel we remembered. Old building,, basically minimal renovations.. stress minimal,, new staff, new menu, but sub par service and food quality!

Food is outstanding! Group of 24, everybody got their food hot and timely and awesome! Great Chef! Servers still figurin' it out but got the job done satisfactorily. Handling that large of a group is tricky! But the food... OMG! Excellent.

Incredible meal, drinks, and service at nautical themed Moonlight Tavern. Sierra our waitress was spot on in her skills and so accommodating. Not a cheap meal, but worth the cost for the total package. I feel they need to market themselves better though. They have a lovely patio area with heaters as well. One area of improvement would be having background music in bar area/boat room for a better vibe.

The service was absolutely fantastic. We had the patio outside all to ourselves and they even turned the heaters on for us. The food is all gourmet and presented with a great deal of care. Perfect place for an anniversary date night.

They open at 2. Stopped serving takeout at 5. Couldn’t order food to go but they’re open until 9. Make it make sense. I just wanted some prime rib to celebrate my mom’s birthday who passed away 21 years ago. Ok then. The millennial receptionist was like “Okeeey…sowrrieeeeee” smh.

Great first experience here. Cool cozy restaurant with some history.

We had the calamari to start which was great. For main courses I had the ribeye and my wife had their chicken piccata. Both dishes were nice portions and delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the pasta in the chicken dish was incredible.

Will definitely be back for another dinner.

Absolutely enjoyed our experience. We've had the charcuterie / cheese board prior to this visit, and it was all so fresh and delicious! We stopped in and got a lobster claw special along with the gost cheese curds with blueberry aoli. My mouth is watering just talking about it. I can't wait to go back and get an entree! The staff was friendly and the service was stellar. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Went there for the first time since it is new. Friday fish fry and one that ordered off the menu. Appetizers very expensive and not as packed as what is shown on the website pictures. Drinks were very watered down. Fish fry was good not exceptional but good. One person ordered the tandoori chicken sandwich and it was all breading. French fries came and there were shoe string type and were completely cold. I would not come back but hope this place can improve. Amazing setting in the Old Port Hotel!!!

I can't wait to see their full menu, as they are doing a slow start and are knocking it out of the ball park. Highly recommend
