As we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary we couldn’t have done it at a better restaurant. It was excellent service from Dina and Sara. They surprised us with complimentary glasses of champagne to toast our anniversary along with wonderful food and complimentary dessert. It was a wonderful evening of good food, good atmosphere and most of all a good time. Thanks Mr B’s for a wonderful night. We will be back!

Had a delicious dinner! We had the special appetizer which was a goat cheese croquette which was amazing. The bisque which is always good. And I had the salmon which was good not great. A little undercooked which made it very fishy just in the center. The puree, asparagus, and beurre blanc were incredible.

I expected better cuts of meat and proper temperature. Combo fillets were hardly 4-5 oz. Scallops are tiny, overcooked and just salty. Others in the party had very unevenly cooked steaks. Half of a filet grey overdone half pink. Appetiser crab cake too small to serve 2 people. Bacon app was good. Onions were good. Pretty disappointed. High prices low quality. I will not be back.

Not the service expected out of a high-end dining experience. No small plates when appetizers were served, waited for wine to be served well after entrees arrived, had to ask for a condiment that was ordered with a side.
Steaks, lobster Mac and potatoes were outstanding. Cream spinach was not good…not creamy at all and extremely salty.

Steak was overcooked but still very good. The bacon baked potatoes were good. There were ne draft beers as they choose not to fix a problem with cooling in order to offer draft. The bottle beers were pretty limited since they had no draft. Not sure I would come back. The bill was over 200 and we didn't leave with a doggie bag.7

We went to experience the Happy Hour for an enjoyable treat but were very disappointed. We tried 5 of their 6 special menu items, which were less than appetizing. The beverages were normal in presentation, but when upgrading to a 'call' brand of whisky, it ended up very expensive. We compare this experience with going to the Capitol Grill, and there was a complete difference.

In our previous visit to Mr. B's, we noted a variety of menu items from fish to steak. Prices to value were high. Fish was better than the steak filet. Little things were missed during service.
It was no competition to Eddie Martinis in Wauwatosa.

We were staying in the area for a 25th anniversary getaway and tried Mr. B’s on a chance. We definitely were not disappointed. I had the fillet and hubby had the ribeye well done. We split the wedge salad and their special veg (creamed corn), both of which were recommended and absolutely delicious! Applause to the chef. This outranks the steakhouse restaurants closer to home-Fleming’s, Steven’s, Eddie Merlot and others. We will be back in the future, the only downside is the distance but we may try the one in Brookfield too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are local and haven’t yet discovered or are staying in the area.

The food and greeting was top notch. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He had steak, potato purée, and creamed spinach. I had salmon, potato purée, carrots, and asparagus. We had the shrimp cocktail appetizer and cheese cake and chocolate cake for desert. The service was a bit rushed and they were understaffed on Father’s Day, but otherwise, I would definitely recommend it.

Salty. I'm sad to say, everything we had was too salty. There was so much potential for flavor, but the salt just overpowered everything, from the $40 morel mushroom appetizer, to the scallops and steak--all too salty. Every savory dish our large party received was too salty. So disappointed. The service was excellent, but thin, so when things got busy, we didn't see our server for a very long time.

I'll start by saying just about everything Mr. B's offers is made to perfection. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it was perfect. My wife ordered the small filet and again, perfect. Wasn't a big fan of the Brussels sprouts, but no biggie. Here's the rub. We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary. With 5:45 reservations, we arrived at 5:15 to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. They advertise a happy hour that goes to 5:30. We were literally the only customers in the place. The person who greeted us asked if we just wanted to sit at a table. We said sure. Our server came and asked if we wanted drinks. We asked about the happy hour drink menu and were told they only do that at the bar. Again, place was empty. So I asked if we actually have to go to the bar (8 feet away in the same room). She said that's their policy. I felt small and cheap for wanting to take advantage of the happy hour special. My wife and I uncomfortably moved to the bar. We asked about the specials, and the bartender didn't talk about happy hour until we brought it up. Then she said "You know it's rail alcohol." Again, it was like they all resented us wanting to enjoy the happy hour - on a Wednesday in their empty restaurant. We eventually got our drinks, saving $7 each over a regular cocktail. By the end of the evening, we'd spent over $250 with the additional drinks and desserts (including the first two cocktails). I wasn't going to post this, but I feel the restaurant ought to know how that makes customers feel, and maybe they should retrain a little when it comes to happy hour.

Husband and I had our anniversary dinner here on a Friday night at 7pm. The place is very clean and nice looking but was crowded and loud. The tables are so close together that you can hear your neighbors conversation, and the little girl (maybe 8 or so) seated next to us couldn't fit between the tables.

The food was fantastic. We had the 44oz Porterhouse. It was cooked perfectly and so tender we didn't even need our forks. Lobster Mac n Cheese was 10/10. The loaded baked potato was good but nothing special. The bacon roasted potatoes were bland. Our server accidentally brought us some fries with melted cheese instead of the Mac, and let us keep it. I don't know what it was but it was GOOD. We also ordered the Peanut Butter brownie sundae and it was fantastic.

My Wife and I go to Mr. B’s right down the road when we want to have a good night out and eat food that is better than your casual restaurant.
The last good amount of times we’ve been, we’ve always had a good meal, and a good time.
Tonight was interesting. Going great, order a steak medium rare.
Get my steak, cut it, don’t see much pink.. okay let’s cut it in the middle to make sure.. and it didn’t have that small fleshy middle that medium rare has.. it had some pink, made me think it was cooked probably medium, medium well. I didn’t have the fleshy part.
Asked waitress to correct me if I was wrong in thinking this wasn’t medium rare, she agreed that it wasn’t and remedied issue immediately. Amazing! Offer me free soup.
Floor manager comes out with my new steak, actually has rare flesh middle people want when they ask for some sort of rare steak. Satisfactory enough. Apologizes and asks me if I need anything else. Said no, very thankful that they accommodated so well. Instead of saying you’re welcome, and then letting it be. Proceeds to tell me that the first one was actually medium rare I just didn’t see it correctly because the red tint of light coming through the windows was the reason why I the red looks gray..
I am confused on why he chose to confront me about this issue instead of just taking my customer satisfaction and gratitude on how they handled situation. I gave no reason for him to be confrontational. He said he’d check back on me and left.
Comes back, I am concerned. Asked if I offended anyone by asking to take steak back. He said no, just that first one was cooked medium rare before and proceeds to give me a sheet explaining how the light into the dining room makes the steaks appear gray..
I am puzzled, I tell him I understand but the entire steak when I cut in wasn’t as rare as the one he replaced it with. Proceeded to tell me that I am not seeing the pink because of the light.
I can understand the argument from the perspective of someone who maybe ordered medium or medium well, and thought it was well done. But you cannot mistake the rare fleshy center of a steak that is rare or medium rare.
Just strange, I work in the pinnacle of customer experience. I did not initiate confrontation at all, but manager chose to confront me. That is not something that you do to guests who you want to maintain retention with.
Left a bad feeling all around.
Had to Google steak doneness meter to feel sane again.
Appreciate the waitresses though, they were amazing, gave me complimentary desert and soup. Don’t know if it was because they could tell my Wife and I’s mood changed from having a good time and laughing to me being absolutely perplexed and complaining about the way management chose to handle the situation.
Either way, unsure when it’ll be until we go back, we were very turned off by the whole situation. Very good waitresses, good food, strange customer handling tactics…

We had a 5:30 reservation and there were lots of families which makes it noisier. I’m not complaining but couldn’t give the atmosphere a 5.

We dined here tonight and expected it to be hectic for NYE, but unfortunately the service was absolutely atrocious. The food quality was excellent as always but the level of service fell woefully short of fine dining standards. Clearly, Mr B’s is struggling to hire and retain quality employees as many other restaurants. I hope they are able to figure it out before their brand is beyond recovery.

This restaurant has a great location with views overlooking the Milwaukee River. The interior is nice without being pretentious, and the bar area is particularly cozy. There are several dining areas as well, so I imagine it could accommodate special events. All my guests were very happy with their food, especially the seafood dishes. As with all the Bartolotta restaurants, the service is particularly good. They are always attentive and professional without hovering. We are likely to return.

First time at Mr. B's! Took our mothers for their birthday and mothers Day. We didn't leave thinking we have to come back. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was amazing, and the food my opinion for the price disappointing! The calamari were a disappointment, very small pieces, and didn't taste great! On the other hand, the onion strings were very good! I had the salmon while everyone else had a filet. Salmon was nothing special. I've had better for much less cost. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, I did taste the steak and again wasn't impressed. I've had way better at HobNob or Copper Dock. Unfortunately, my 14 year old daughter couldn't order from the kids' menu, so I'll have leftovers, lol!

I expected more from this restaurant. Thankfully we had a 150 gift card. Total bill was 275. Steaks were fine, but nothing super special. Lobster Mac was on the drier side. The side of potato’s that we got (Yukon puree, and bacon roasted) were under seasoned, the puree was kind of gritty for my taste. The scallops and crab cakes we got with our combo steak were very lackluster. Scallops were barely seared, crab cake was mushy.

The ambiance was alright, but the table (two top) was extremely small, and our table was probably one foot away from the table next to us. It felt weird. I could hear everything they were talking about. The table behind me was positioned so that when we were both seated, there was almost no room for people to walk between our two tables, so my chair was constantly being bumped into. I ended up moving closer to the window behind my wife to try to widen the gap, but it didn’t really help much. The servers had no personality. Just took our order.

For an “upscale” dining place, the whole experience left a lot to be desired. I’m usually excited to go to a bartolottas restaurant, and I was earlier in the day, but after we left, I just felt unfulfilled. Probably wouldn’t come back, especially for the prices. ~70 bucks for an 8oz filet and 3 scallops is bonkers. I had a better steak at a hole in the wall supper club up north a few weeks ago, and with 4 people our total bill was half of what 2 people cost at Mr. B’s, and everyone got a salad, and a side. I just don’t see how you can justify those prices when places can do it better for cheaper.

I would like to start by saying that I typically have excellent service and a wonderful time when I visit your establishment. However, my most recent experience was entirely different. I recommended your restaurant to a friend for his birthday dinner, and we all arrived approximately 10 minutes apart from each other. We were seated promptly, and as we began to settle in, we were engaged in pleasant conversation. Towards the middle of the service, we were asked to keep it down in a rude manner. We all know it's not what you say it's how you say it. Anyway the bread came out late into service and the also forgot to offer the birthday desert I had to remind them for both, which is ridiculous when spending over 1,200 I would not recommend this place anymore especially because the manger wasn't pleasant, and we received second hand service almost like we were bothering them being there. I hope this changes. I also had to request a rewards card after spending 1,200 please be serious.

We have been to this restaurant several times. We went last night and were not blown away like we have been in the past. Food was good but the service was lacking. Our waiter had zero personality and was very slow. Dessert was really not good. Disappointed this time around. Not sure if we will go back. Service is an important part of the experience and when that goes south, the rest of the night is hard to recover from.

If you want to ruin your New Year's eve, go to Mr B's. Our reservation was for 5PM. After we were seated, the pressure was on to get us out. We did not feel welcome. Their excuse was that they needed to "flip the table". We weren't able to relax/enjoy the $250 we spent on our steak dinners.

Entrees:
My wife and I both ordered the filet. Mine was cooked correctly but lacked seasoning of any kind. My wife ordered hers medium but it came out closer to well done and her plate was extremely hot when it came out, indicating it had been sitting for quite some time before getting to us. Her pepper sauce was also not good and tasted spoiled.
I also had the crab cake which had a concerning crabby taste and lacked flavor.

Sides:
Truffle fries were good as a side, definitely not worth $19 on their own, however.
The side of mushrooms was literally just grilled mushrooms with no seasoning.
The same can be said for the carrots with maple syrup and Calibrian peppers. Couldn't taste the maple syrup and barely got taste/heat from the chilis.

Service:
Not what I would expect from a restaurant in this price point. Our waitress took our order, threw bread on our table in passing, and delivered our food. Our glasses sat empty on our table for most of the meal. I don't know if it was the day we came but the wait staff as a whole seemed extremely inexperienced.

Atmosphere:
Disappointed by the level of dress they permitted. Last I checked hoodies were not appropriate attire for a steak house.

Unfortunately we should've been in heaven ordering the porterhouse for 2, with a reservation, but instead we were packed into the rowdy end of the restaurant, after we asked to be moved to the quieter side of the restaurant she hesitated and sat us in the running aisle where every guest has to pass our end table to enter or leave the loud crowded side of the restaurant we were forced to dine in. After ordering, we wait, and wait, and wait, and sadly once we received our 44oz. porterhouse it's dry and overcooked, burnt on the one half, and completly covered in grisle on the other half, so a bad quality steak is just terrible to say about a restaurant like this, and then we get to our 3 sides, also cooked in cast iron skillets and clearly burnt, the "glazed" carrots were bone dry and charred to put it nicely, the loaded baked potato extra dried out, the bacon roasted potatoes also black, charred, basically the whole meal was left in the oven far too long, definitely should've been better quality than my local steakhouses. Waitress was not accommodating or considerate whatsoever. I would not waste my time or money on this place ever again.

Food was all over-cooked. Porterhouse for 2 was extremely fatty and tough in areas and the glazed rainbow carrots 🥕 are clearly one color - char, and taste like nothing... no glaze. Complained and told that is how they are. Atmosphere was loud and tried to cram us onto a tiny table surrounded by loud people. Accommodated a move but acted like that could be an issue even though there were many free tables and booths open. I feel like this is an establishment that tacks a high price on lacking quality. Any real steak wouldn't need sauce, good thing they make sure to provide it with the meal we ordered or we may have sliced our throats on gristle as we swallowed it.

If you are looking to feel like you went somewhere and don't care if you eat junk.... this is ur place!

If you want great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.... outback would best this place. Sad for a place that advertises itself as fine dining and great food!

Dined while on a work trip. Had calamari, surf and turf, and bacon roasted potatoes, wish I could have tried the apple crisp.

Calamari was about 15% to salty, and the marinara sauce was nothing special. However it was very crispy and was still very good.

The surf and turf was absolutely amazing. There was a thin crust on the filet that was perfect, not too seasoned. The lobster was great with melted butter. Chose the bourbon black pepper sauce, it was a bit sharp on the pallet butvery nice as well.

Chose the bacon roasted potatoes which were very savory, should say they include a few onions. Pepper sauce was actually good with the potatoes. They were a bit more dry than I thought they should be.

Had the prohibition old fashioned and they were great, no complaints at all.

Extremely Disappointed

While I wouldn't call my self a expert I have had dinner at many 5 star restaurants, including Michelin star restaurants. While I didn't expect a Michelin star level of food, I did expect better.

We order the lobster Mac and cheese for a starter. The lobster was overcooked, and I don't believe it was fresh. Granted, we are in wisconsin, and fresh sea food isn't that easy. But the price we paid, it should be fresh. My main course was the lamb chops. As someone who loves lamb chops and, in fact, rasies sheep, so we have ample supply of lamb, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered them medium, and they came out a bit on the rare side. I do believe in allowing the cook to adjust the temp based on how the cut of meat is cooking, so I forgive them for that. The french cut was poorly done. While the meat was juicey for such a lean cut of meat, it lacked any flavor. The amount of carbon or char overpowered the natural flavor of the lamb. No seasoning contributed to the lack of flavor. I had the bourbon peppercorn sauce, I love peppercorn and found the sauce lacking any strong flavor. Not entirely sure how you mess up sweet potato puree, but they figured it out. There is no seasoning in the whole dish. It was potato puree with peacons on top. Nothing special. The palting was not at all to the level that was expected based on the atmosphere and prices. My date had the prime filet while the cut was amazing it did lack any seasoning. Though that cut of meat really only needed salt and pepper. She also had a potato puree with bread crumbs and garlic. Simple but delicious. She had the apple crisp for dessert. We were not impressed with it, the flavor was off from a traditional crisp and didn't work well together. I had the peach sorbet was was good though the serving size was small. They also don't make their own sorbet. The crisp include was, unfortunately, more garnish than edible. She had the prickly pear Margherita, and she enjoyed it. I found it a bit strong, but the flavor was good. I had ordered the whispering angle and wasn't served it. When the bill came, we found out that we were charged for the potato that was included with our entire according to the menu. Up charged on her scallops, though we were told that they were included with the upgraded prime filet. I find this extremely unprofessional and felt like it was a bait and switch tactic.

As of 03/19/24 this restaurant has not responded to its inquiry of the poor service we received on Valentines Day! My assessment is that they respond with “we’d like to further discuss what happened” but this is just to make it seem like they actually care about what patrons think. As stated previously the food has changed for the worst and the customer care has also. Good luck!

My wonderful husband had taken my daughter and I to eat at this restaurant for Valentines Day and I have to say it was the utmost disappointing meals we ever had(12 oz Filet Minons). I want to use comparison of the steaks we had to less than Outback quality. We ordered Medium BUT regardless what temp at which the steaks were cooked the meat was just bone dry and instructions just weren’t followed had to send well done meat back to be redone, we were choking while chewing and trying to swallow. My husband of course called the server and asked if these were prime steaks that we paid $65.00 a piece for and the server told us NO just choice meats(he did let us know everyone was having problems with the steaks). My husband could not even eat the meat so he had his meal taken off the bill. I also want to throw in the simple things that were overlooked like giving us steak knives to cut the steak, and soft bread not brick hard and cold butter that can’t spread on the hard bread. I remember my experiences at this restaurant pre-pandemic and the meats were butter soft and juicy but what we got last night was so disappointing. Listen you can get choice steak that’s not dry for way cheaper elsewhere this is supposed to be the go to for the best cut of meat but maybe that isn’t true anymore. Good luck but for my family and I we won’t return to a post pandemic terrible choice quality restaurant with Prime steakhouse prices.

What an awesome place to eat. I am gluten free not by choice and they handle it beautifully. They took it seriously and labeled my food allergy so it wouldn't be in contact with other food. My husband booked a reservation here for Valentine's Day so we could have a nice dinner.. The drinks and the bread were really great, but that was about it. We ended up ordering the three course special menu offering they had. It took over an hour to get the first course which was just two appetizers, and the meatballs came out cold. We ordered the 65 day dry aged steak offering they had, and pieces of it tasted rancid. The last course was a dark chocolate creme brulee, and the sugar on top was very burnt and not worth eating. Overall the atmosphere was fine and drinks were good, but the food was pretty terrible, especially for the price we paid. Save yourself some money and go somewhere else.

Heard nothing but good things about this establishment and my team wanted to try it in celebration. First off, they put 5 grown adults in a half moon booth… with multiple requests, they would not move us. Secondly, the server was a couple weeks in, all good. However he forgot about us the majority of the night and would disappear for way too long. We had to wait for everything which in this type of place the experience and service is expected. Third, the filet mignon (not cheap) was not a filet mignon… a steak person can easily taste and feel what this steak is and it wasn’t as my neighbor had the strip and was exactly the same piece of meat (frustrating). Fourth, the steak was medium well when I ordered a medium rare.
Didn’t complain because that is not something you do at a nice establishment like this, but… disappointed and will not recommend going forward.

My wife got the wrong meal. She agreed to eat it anyway but the potatoes were so heavily salted they were inedible. My steak, ordered medium well, came rare in the middle. Waiter was somewhat evasive at first, ultimately got the manager to comp the entrees. The manager never showed themself.
Appetizer and dessert were good.
I ordered decaf with dessert but was awake til 2am so guessing it was regular instead.
I'm ok that my gift card was used up with the rest of this meal. We won't be going back. This was my wife's birthday dinner and it was unsatisfactory.

We were supposed to have table by river instead squeezed us near but not to my father in laws specifications. The children’s salmon was so salty no one could eat. The staff was helpful but didn’t seem to have a head waiter it was shared and they brought bill twice because they didn’t communicate.
