Hidden charges & overpriced drinks

Bill was $130 + tax, but we ended up paying over $200 because they added a “big party” fee for 8 people without telling us. Drinks are way overpriced (strawberry lemonade listed $3.15, charged $8). Food was just average — honestly, IHOP is better.

I think this falls mainly on leadership. We waited awhile and had to go ask for a server while watching multiple servers on their phones in the back. Apparently the sections aren’t known by everyone because our server said he didn’t know we were his table. 10mins later we saw two servers fighting over a table.

Food came out and was good. The food is honestly why this isn’t a 1 star. Pancakes are awesome, sausage was good, eggs were predictable.

Our server never came back for a 2min check back. We also had to go up front to receive and then pay our bill. Nobody was smiling. The place looked like it sucked to work at. In my opinion, either the manager was having a very off day, or it needs a new one that has stricter rules while also being able to control the atmosphere by keeping high cheerful energy. I hope this review helps the owner out.

My wife and I had Mr. Pancake for the first morning of our anniversary trip. It was a delight. I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and she had the Denver omelette, fresh fruit, and “real good toast”. The food was excellent even though the burrito was on the smaller side. The homemade salsa that came with it was very good with my hash-browns. My wife also said the fruit was very high quality.

Macy, our server, was AWESOME! She was very attentive to what we needed but did not rush us in the lease. She even kept up with my countless refill requests. Would give 10 stars if I could.

They have a kids menu on the back with coloring and an activity.

This is a very well oiled machine. Would recommend to anyone in the Dells. Not just tourists.

Great food, portions were huge. Me, my husband, and both kids couldn't finish our meals, i wouldnt suggest getting extra sides if youre getting pancakes or waffles. Food tasted amazing. The specialty coffees were delicious! We went around 920 or so and it was packed but only waited 10 mins for a table. It was a bit longer wait for the food etc but honestly it was so packed, it was pretty quick considering.. decent prices. Definitely a great breakfast spot.

I had the apple waffle and I topped it with the cinnamon syrup...unreal but quite sweet. My husband had the banana pancakes and he thought the flavours were really good, he couldn't finish his meal.

Food was delicious, but the problem started when we got our bill. After overlooking our reciept I saw we were double charged for a $28 dollar meal that was $148 and after it was “fixed” it dropped to $74. So either it was a major mistake or a scam. Double check your receipts.

Visited Mr Pancake during a recent family vacation to Wisconsin Dells. We were there early and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated and served quickly. The Nutty Goodness coffee was very good, as was the Pecan Waffles. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and my daughter ordered the strawberry waffles. I tasted both and they were also good and large servings.

I would recommend Mr. Pancakes and would consider returning.

We had a good time here. Wife got the blueberry pancakes, which she said were very good. Daughter got a pancake and some scrambled eggs. She didn't care for the eggs, but she did like the pancake. For some reason he was served 2 Bloody Mary’s before we left. This would have been a great opportunity to refuse service. We stayed at a hotel near the restaurant and decided to order to go since it looked packed. I ordered the strawberry crepes and they were trash. They didn’t even try. They don’t use fresh strawberries and looks like they used canned strawberries instead. It was supposed to come with a whipped topping and it did not. We have came to this place a few times and the food is usually very good but this time it was pretty bad. I ordered an omelette with toast and the omelette itself was not good part of it was cold the cheese on the inside was barely melted my mama had cold eggs and my daughter had cheese eggs with the Cheese on her eggs was not melted and the sausage in the omelette was dry and taste very old. The best part of the whole meal was the toast and even the drinks which were apple juice and Powerade were watered down. I completely understand that this place is a very popular and busy place because the food is great! What I didn't like was that they passed up our name on the waiting list and then sat us at a table that didn't fit my group. Like a lady at the front so that she would text me when it was my turn. We were standing outside and nothing was texted to me. People that came after us kept getting seated. The same number in their group as us. I thought that was kind of weird, so I went and checked up on it. And I was right at least I think they felt bad but they crammed us into a four person table. Very cramped, felt like we were sitting on top of each other next to other diners.

First of all, the waiter was very friendly and respectful. However, we had a bad experience. We noticed that guests were being seated based on their race — white people were placed at the window or at the nicer tables, while Latin people (or people of color) were seated elsewhere.

We were seated near the kitchen, and when we asked to be moved, we were offered a table at the back of the restaurant, near a wall and the bathroom— despite being the first ones there.

Absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. It’s 2025, and it’s awful to still witness this kind of treatment. IHOP would have treated us better.

Just left this establishment, the restaurant was clean and up kept but as far as service and timely management it was TERRIBLE!!! As each person ordered the server wasn’t paying attention to details at ALL. About an hour past without food and when the food came NONE of it was right or close to. All of the sides for the food was mixed onto different plates and some weren’t even prepared. On top of that the process to get our actual food and sides took an additional 30 mins….completely unacceptable. Please train your staff and waiters on listening skills and the importance of time management. Paying 100$ + more for poor service and time is completely unacceptable. Note: we had a family member unable to eat a certain type of meat and they tried to serve it to him anyway..mind you this isn’t food allergy this is because of his diet due to cancer. And yet they tried to STILL give him more of the same meat after he repeatedly told them.

9:42am Waitress guy was rude, literally was talking so rude to my husband and I. Just stood there waiting for us, didn’t say “ what would you like to order?” Or anything. I asked for hot sauce, literally gave me attitude, and grabbed it from some other people’s table and just gave it and left, didn’t even disinfected it or wiped it, it was all dirty from the previous people who were using it. Steak had a lot of hard peaces, and didn’t have flavor at all, was so dry. Egg was cold from the top like if it was just sitting there. Pancakes were burnt but almost burnt.my husband was trying to finish his pancakes when the waiter just came and gave us the check, he was literally looking to see if we were going to leave tip, we left 5$ tip and waiter just left mad. I want to start by saying I rarely write reviews but this time is different. I work in hispotality and I can't stay indiferent to the service here. Lets start positive first, the food is good, pancakes and omletes were good and coffee is tasty too. We went there this morning after watching the sunrise and we were ready for some nice food and coffee. From the start we were greated coldly by the server and after that everything we ordered seemed like an issue for him. We understand that it was busy but it never hurts to be nice. And here is where I got annoyed. On the menu explicitly says that for groups of 8 and more theres 20% gratuity, maybe he knew that he was rude and thought we won't tip so he added the 20% on group of 6. This was something out of the line for me and its not for the extra dollar or 3 it's about the attitude. Customer comes first and for our case that was not it.

This is a really cute restaurant to enjoy a great breakfast with your family at. The meal was affordable for a large family, about $115 including tip. The kids all loved the French toast and pancakes they ordered. They also loved the chocolate milk...?!? It was like they never had chocolate milk in their whole life kind of loved it...I think my 16 year old drank the whole cup in a span of ten second. I had a veggie omelet and enjoyed it. Over priced food and you get very little for the amount u pay for. Water taste nasty most likely unfiltered. They also charge extra for every little thing u ask for, I got charged for $4 for chocolate chips on my pancakes when every restaurant doesn’t even charge for it when you ask for it. Our waiter also made a face at us when he was leaving our table after we ordered just water for our drinks as well.

We had a waffle, French toast, and strawberry blintz. Everything was delicious and such a large portion. Sadie was a delightful server. We really enjoyed our breakfast. 10/10 definitely recommend

I've driven by this place many times, decided last fall this year would be the year I finally stopped. I had the Denver omelet with some sourdough toast. It was excellent, so not just the pancakes are good. I'll have to come again to try some of the other breakfast options.

Busy Sunday but plenty of food. Sat quicker than time quoted. Only downside is they texted, but had wrong phone number so had to ask why no confirmation text. So make sure you got that text 🙂

Good pancakes, but everything else was pretty average. The biscuits are small and hard, and the sausage gravy is bland and runny. The sausages were coarse and tough, and even the omelettes were unseasoned aside from the filling. Overall it wasn't bad, just kind of plain and uninteresting. The tables are packed tightly together, too, so we were pretty much eating breakfast with the family next to us.

Got here at7:15A.M.and worth it. Well worth the price. Warming welcomed, waiting area decor/sale stuffed animals. Decent service with a warm smile . Freshly made batter and freshly squeezed orange juice, our coffee came with a thermal pitcher for refill. well worth the wait for food. But it didn’t take long anyway. Pancakes were fluffy and moist. The chocolate pancake was light with crispy bacons. Belgian waffle was soft on the inside, crisp on the outside perfectly with whipped Cream. Can’t wait to try others on their menu.
Update: this is no longer our go to place. found a dead bug on our table at the end.
Our wait staff doesn’t seem want to serve at all. Took our orders return after we finished our breakfast, we had to asked to refill coffee and check. Again this was early morning with a lot empty table and plenty of staffs.

Our waiter was so sweet! For how busy it was, he was on the ball and very attentive!
But, the coffee was burnt or brewed too strong. Couldn't drink it hardly it. Blintzes were eggy, done with cottage cheese and done with a lot of filling. It was too much.

An amazing place, first look is a cool Steam boat facade. Entering is a very open and bright facility that feels very welcoming! The staff are very nice and helpful. The food is super delicious and reasonable price. Highly recommend for a great breakfast!

Service was impeccable. The wait time was short, and the staff was attentive. Our kids requested to eat there for two consecutive days' breakfasts, and we enjoyed all of the food we ordered. It was always hot and tasted fresh. The atmosphere was cute, and the only downside was that the spacing between tables was a bit tight. Overall, a good experience and we would visit again.

We went on a Saturday morning and I got three eggs and they were delicious. Everyone else loved their food. The pancakes were good. The coffee was good. The service was great. It did get really busy in there so you want to kind of go as soon as they open at 7 AM.

Worth the drive! Very filling waffle. Ordered avocado toast too and cheesy hash browns (not in pic) thinking the waffle wouldn't be enough...it was more than enough. Delicious, reasonably priced, wait wasn't long and fast, friendly service. New favorite.
