I felt like the experience was disjointed. Like you pay for your coffee and food, up front. I tried to just give them my card to hold and they couldn't do that either. This isnt a deal breaker for me; just seemed weird. coffee was decent, but no one came by to ask if we needed refills. you kinda just ask when you need it. Again, not a deal breaker, just something you wont know till you experience it. Also, you bus your own table, as in a cafeteria, or like... When you go to Mcdonalds. So kind of a kitchy experience. I'm not even sure if you are supposed to tip, but I think my sister did as she ended up paying for our meal. They do bring the coffee and the meal to your table, though.

Food was decent and you get a good amount. Everyone's meal looked great. I had the brisket eggs benedict. I dont think the brisket was smoked, but they dont advertise it, specifically, as being smoked.

It's a bit loud, for such a small dining area. I don't know the solution for this, but I remember being able to hold a conversation, but you cant speak softly, if you want to be heard, there. The place was maybe just over half full, at the time.

I did not try the bakery, though everything looks good.

I wanted to like the place more. It just seemed a little off or unpolished, in several areas. Could have been an off day.

Edit: saw the owner post some corrections, lol.. so when I bussed my own stuff, it was because another guy bussed his own stuff and we joked about it and he said it was his first time there but his parents, seated next to us, come there, regularly. There was no busses boy there and earlier when my sister asked to have her and my cousin's plates taken away, the waitress did so but it seemed like we were bothering her. I thought we were supposed to actually bus our iwb stuff after watching a this guy bus his own stuff and the waitress/cashier was talking to some other girl and didn't seem to be bothered by this. Soooooo... I guess maybe you should make sure your regulars know not to bus their own stuff, too. Also, I'm a big guy and not young. I know what good smoked bbq tastes like so lets not go there. I wasn't saying anything bad about the food and it seems like you took a greater offense than what I meant, but biting was a lie. Just an awkward experience. One star off for your ham-fisted attempt and making me look like I just got everything wrong and was just born yesterday. It's weird to make you pay up front when you SIT AND EAT THERE. It's not weird for me to say it.

Sadly I did not take a photo of our meals. We had an avocado toast and a spinach,feta and tomato omelette. Both were very good. The tzatziki sauce was amazing. The staff were very patient with our high maintenance questions and requests, we got multiple pie slices to go, delivered to friends and family and everyone loved them!! So far the French silk is my favorite, which is how we found you when we had it at Wells Bros pizza. Super cute little place, good food, excellent pie excellent staff!

Service needed improvement. You order your food up at the Counter, tell them your table number and then they bring it out to you (Culver's style). You pay upfront and are asked to tip up front before you experience the food or service - kinda strange for a restaurant but ok.

Before we even ordered a server tried to give our table somebody else's food which we refused.

After ordering at the counter, I then watched a server bring food to a wrong table. Another table spoke up that it was theirs and the error was quickly corrected. Then a few minutes later I watched them bring out MY food and give it to a wrong table. They didn't confirm the order they just brought it and set it down and the customers had to speak up to tell the server it was wrong. The server said "oh sorry" and ran away. They did not try to correct the issue or come up with a resolution.

The customers at the table next to me literally passed over the plates of food to our table so we could eat. Very unprofessional.

What is the point of telling the staff my table number when I order if your staff is just going to disregard the system that you put in place? The tables are literally numbered - it should be impossible to send food to the wrong table.

I know that good, experienced help is hard to find these days - please read this as a respectful critique. The food was actually good.

What a delightful place! Soon to celebrate a 1 year anniversary they have much to be proud of. A menu that is diverse and full of options with great price points. Had the turkey, Swiss, cranberry wrap with homemade chips. It was flavorful with a bountiful portion. Split the cinnamon roll with cream cheese and it was delicious! The staff is wonderful and genuinely like their jobs. In today's service industry that is rare and speaks volumes about the business as a whole. Located on the north side of hwy 11 near the antique mall. Open Tuesday- Sunday until 2 pm, I highly encourage a visit. It will be nothing short of delicious 😋

I had the most fabulous casual lunch at Mrs. Rivers this past weekend with my mom, husband and 8 month old daughter. The menu offers a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options. We opted for soups and sandwiches. I had a Chicken Salad served on the most delicious croissant.

I am taking the time to write a review specifically because of the impeccable service. The restaurant was well staffed with upbeat and friendly servers. This specifically stood out to me! My daughter is a wiggly one and after settling her into a high chair with some kiwi from my fruit cup, the staff brought over more kiwi without us asking as they noticed she was enjoying it :)

Raised in Racine and visiting for the weekend, this was a great experience and we absolutely will be back!

Food is mediocre. The funny part is they use photos from the internet on their Facebook page. I noticed a picture from a recipe I had previously made. Did a reverse Google search and sure enough!! That chop sub was NOT their chop sub! Several other photos (not all) are also pulled from online. We were blocked from their Facebook page as soon as we pointed it out.

I used to buy pie and cheesecake from Mrs. Rivers when she was a vendor at the farmers market, so I was really excited to try her restaurant. Obviously, there are many great reviews for the business as well.

The restaurant is cute and cozy, with a service counter for customers to place their orders. Once your food is made, the people at the counter bring your food to your table. After that, you’re on your own. They do not check in to see how the food is or if anything is needed. While one of the girls was very friendly, the other appeared to be annoyed.

I ordered the Brisket Eggs Benedict and French Silk Pie. The pie was great, as always! The Benedict was not so great, unfortunately. The hash browns were hot but the Benedict itself was lukewarm, at best. The brisket was a bit dry as well.

I’m hoping this was just an off day, given that there are so many great reviews. The menu has a large variety to pick from, and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere.

Wow!!! Go hungry and go often! It will take you years to get through the menu selections! We read about the restaurant off a social media crosspost and it sounded cute. Checked out the breakfast menu and were impressed with the selections and the price.
Today was the day we headed over. From the enthusiasm of the cashiers, you would have thought they had been waiting for us and were glad we finally arrived. Everyone was greeted in the same friendly manner. Impressive.
We arrived in perfect time, because many more poured in behind us. We sat down and looked over the huge menu. We finally narrowed it down and went up to order and sat and admired the cute and unique atmosphere, tasted the bakery on display with our eyes and caught glimpses of the plates other people chose. Yum!
They deliver the food to your table and you’ll want to be sitting to admire the magazine quality presentation of each and every entree. We ordered a meat lovers omelette and a gyro omelette with fresh baked bread, one raisin and one white. You know the restaurant is good when you can say the WHITE Bread is delicious!
One of the best parts of breakfast was the fresh fruit cup the comes with the omelette. All kinds of bite size, fresh chilled fruit to complement the meal.
The restaurant was clean, bright from lots of windows, smelled good and friendly.

Treat yourself and head over for a delicious meal made from clearly fresh ingredients delivered by a friendly and professional crew. We were even surprised by a table side visit from the owner to make sure everything was satisfactory. What a nice touch. We believe they truly want you to love the food, the people and the experience.

This place got a 10 out of 10 until they've changed their hours and are no longer open other than breakfast or lunch. We were frequenting the restaurant two to three days a week everyone in the family getting a meal then they changed the hours to only accommodate the retired or non-working class I suppose. The food and the atmosphere and even the owners are a 10 out of 10 but the idea to limit the hours to close at 2:00 p.m. was the worst thing they could have done. They lost our business and countless other people I know because we have families and jobs and we aren't able to go and dine between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.. all the business we gave them along with all the people we recommended to their restaurant are no longer frequenting the spot because of the unreasonable hours. If you are retired or have absolutely nothing going on in life then this is the place for you for good food good atmosphere and good service but if you are like us and have a family and live a normal working man's life you will you will have to take a sick day and call the kids into school if you'd like to try Miss Rivers. Doesn't make sense as the business seem to be just taking off. Nightly up until close there were people dining in the restaurant for dinner with their families or significant others or friends. That is no longer the case. Sure wish we could still go to miss Rivers and they were open with normal hours like other restaurants in town they sure were a winner

I had the best soup that I have ever had in my entire life here. The chicken pot pie soup will forever be my go to lunch. I loved the crumbles of pie crust on top because it added fantastic texture. I’ve never seen that done before.

I am a super picky eater. It’s rare I try anything new. And it’s even more rare that I LOVE a new place.

Came in with a party of 8 (4 adults 4 kids) and everyone, including myself LOVED the food.

I got the pork belly skillet with a biscuit and a cup of the briskit chili. Everything was phenomenal. The pork belly was amazing, crispy on the sides and melted in your mouth. The biscuit was crumbly and flavorful and idk what kind of butter they put on there, but I could've eaten 10 of them. The chili was balanced, savory, and full of pieces of tender smoked briskit. 10/10 would recommend.

Giving this super cute local place a try! Oh my goodness if you are thinking of going, go. As a first time and wanting to try a bit of a bunch we have good foor days! The portions are HUGE!

I got two 3 meat plates each come with 2 sides. Brisket, pulled pork, hot beef, smoked turkey and meatballs were the meats. The sides were baked beans, Coke slaw, cornbread casserole and mac and cheese.

Then I ordered the brisket chili and the curried lentil soup. They were both keepers! So so good.

Oh my goodness! The best of the sudes were the cornbread casserole and the baked beans. All of the meats were amazing!!!! They all come as a sandwich on the menu. That hot beef was so juicy and tender! The brisket was the best I have ever had.

Next time I’ll eat in, it’s small seating for 30 at tables and 3 at a window counter. It’s clean! Like really clean. Cute, comfortable and the owners are working. Well done!

If you are a desert person they have like 8 pies a cheesecake and a case full of lovely things to choose from.

I absolutely love this place! The French toast is so delicious, and the bacon is cooked just perfectly. My friend and I, who used to work together, always try to catch up over breakfast since we don’t see each other as often anymore. Our first dine in experience:
The greeting staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a huge plus in a day when good customer service is hard to find.

My husband had the beef brisket and homemade chips. He was very pleased with his pick, enjoying the pickle as well. I had the two meat dishes (pulled pork and beef brisket) both excellent! My side dishes were the corn casserole (Thanksgiving quality) and coleslaw which was fair.
We were given a free cookie with our meal order - a nice personal touch.

We ended our dinner by sharing an amazing key lime cheesecake. Mrs. Rivers pies are superb! We highly recommend it!

4 stars on atmosphere because it was chilly.

I have been there three times and the food has always been great. The brisket is legit. The staff is friendly and fast.

I had a hard time finding parking and on one trip there wasn't enough seating for my group if four so we had to take our food to go.

Went in for breakfast and got ice cold biscuits and gravy. It was very busy and I believe I got someone elses food that had been sitting there awhile. I got my food super quick and the table behind me was missing a biscuit and gravy order and already had the other persons meal. They were a little busy so it did take some time to order and get our food, they were also out of several items. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. We had the pick 3 meats, mac n cheese with brisket, and a cup of chili. Also had cold brew coffee that was very good.

Mrs. Rivers is the best. If I could give 10 stars I would. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is even better. There was a little mixup with our to go order and they went above and beyond to make it right. We will definitely be back to have the fabulous food.

Just wow!!! Honestly, the most incredible biscuits and gravy I've ever had. A gem in our area. Food from scratch. I also tried the spicy peanut soup, and that was pretty amazing as well. Everything our table tried was spot on.

Been waiting for this place to open and thankfully it has, definitely worth the wait. Excellent addition to the community. Had the biscuits and gravy with eggs, sensational. There’s a new place in town you must visit. Mrs. Rivers Bakery & Smokehouse Cafe, 9404 Durand Avenue. This place does not disappoint. Delicious made from scratch bakery & pies to tender biscuits and gravy and pork belly on a breakfast sandwich. Nice menu selection, friendly atmosphere, and delicious food what more do you need! She will not disappoint!

My husband and I went during opening weekend and WOW!! We were so impressed!! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and told us all about their offerings from their pastries made from scratch to their Door County goodies and organic coffee. We had the pork belly breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, chocolate scone, chocolate chip banana muffin, and a cinnamon roll. You could tell everything was made fresh with REAL ingredients. We have lived in Sturtevant 5 years now and we’re over the moon that we have a local, fresh, option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We will be back!!

Lisa is such a wonderful baker as well as a person! We were on the hunt for dessert for our wedding rehearsal dinner and we stumbled across her business on Facebook. We ended up reaching out and she was so kind/polite with her response. We ended up meeting her at one of the farmers markers she was at and she was more than generous with the samples she provided for us to choose our flavors. We ended up choosing banana cream pie, salted apple Carmel pie and key lime pie. WOW, they were absolutely delicious! We absolutely recommend Lisa and cannot wait to try her new restaurant! Definitely give her food a try, you will not be disappointed!
