Great bar and restaurant in Riverwest! Dim lighting, unique atmosphere, and good food and drinks! It was fun to try a seasonal cocktail. The menu is full of great sandwiches, meat or vegetarian! I was hesitant to re-visit Nessun Dorma after a poor experience during Locust Street festival. However, this last visit was great! We sat outside and were helped out by an attentive server. We had a chicken ceasar salad and a panini which were delicious. My only critique is that the outside is pretty overgrown with weeds-but that's it! Loved our food and can't wait to come back:)

Honestly, don't waste your time coming here.
The food is good....when they are willing to serve that is. Ate here once and loved it. Ive tried to eat here again 3 times since and was refused service each time. They either close down early or run out of food early. They open at 4 but don't serve food till 5. I came in starving looking forward to having a meal there once the kitchen opened. Asked for some bread or anything, heck I would have been happy with saltine crackers just to hold me over till they were ready. But they said no. So, I went somewhere else.

Have always loved Nessun Dorma for so many reasons, but sometimes all it takes is one super awful experience to ruin a place. Stopped in during locust st days and sat at the bar 5 minutes before 5pm (when the kitchen opens). The bartender took to go order as soon as I could get his attention a few minutes after 5. Shortly after this the whole place filled up and was busy. My wife and sleeping child were waiting in the car so I wasn’t in a big hurry. After more than 40 minutes went by that started to change. I was unable to get the bartender’s attention at all. Finally at the one hour mark I was just wanting an answer on my food. I finally see the bartender by me so I simply asked if it was coming soon. The bartender shrugged at me and gestured to look around at how busy it was in a clearly rude way and couldn’t even give me the dignity of a verbal response, so I got up and left. My kid had been awake for a bit at that point and we were starving. I literally ordered not even 5 minutes after the kitchen opened and definitely before all the tables filled up. That bartender was beyond rude and makes me never want to return. I’m guessing he never rang my food in to begin with.

My family enjoys coming here all the time, food is always amazing and the vibe is always great. However, we had a waitress tonight that was extremely unfriendly and did not check in with us the entire night. We ended up waiting 45 minutes with no communication and had to ask the manger (I believe) where the food was. Throughout service there was no communication made, no conversation made, no checking on how the food was, almost like she did not want to serve us. Overall, such a super disappointing dinner experience.

We started with the bruschetta: soggy toast with little to no balsamic vinaigrette, heavy mozzarella and a sad rushed display of tomatoes with rumors of cilantro that unfortunately didn't come true.

With a patchwork and poorly constructed bruschetta to start, our dining experience was made only more unenjoyable thanks to the olive dish.

A mixed bowl of dried out and mealy olives, dirty with leaves, stems, and something else that got caught in my teeth was served with many pieces of purposeless toast.

When the entrees arrived we finally saw hope. Two magnificent looking paninis with luscious meats, large portions...and patchy over salted tapenade made the dish unpalatable. The entree was served with a bed of spring mix that I think had dressing of some kind or at least an attempt at dressing. This bed of a single type of leaf was the "house side salad" our server mentioned when taking our order.

Soporific and disingenuous , the staff was far too distracted preparing for the bar rush to worry about the quality of food for dining customers.

We were given menus that did NOT have pizzas on them, however the table next to us was informed of the pizzas as well of the soup of the day. If there were desserts we did not see a menu and were not offered any.

Milwaukee is a drinking city. Load your food with salt and people will drink. When people drink, they get hungry. This is a lovely bar, not a good restaurant.

Love this place, it's kind of a hidden Gem in the RW neighborhood, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE FOOD HERE! imho it's on par with Uncle Wolfies just up the road and it's not a 45+min wait! People rave about this rustic tavern nestled in the Riverwest neighborhood. I don't get it. It reminds me of a rustic Panera Bread with alcohol.

The food there is fine, just not many options. Salads, paninis, and some other small appetizers.

What made this last visit particularly disappointing was the awful service we received. It was a Saturday around noon and it was half full in the bar area.

We got our drinks pretty quick and then placed our food order: 1 mushroom panini. We then waited, and waited, and waited. There was only one other table that ordered food so there wasn't a backlog in the kitchen. 1 hour later the food finally came. Our waiter only came by once to update us. It was a colossal fail, with no accountability or responsibility taken and pretty much ruined our dining experience.

This place gets a lot of love but I don't know why. Food is ok, the options are very limited and the service is spotty.

I've been coming to Nessun Dorma since 2009 and every single time I've been here, it's exactly what I want.

I tend to order the same thing over and over because it's so delicious and it comes out perfect every time -- the formaggio sandwich. I can't tell you why it's so yummy, but your taste buds will thank you later (expert hack: add the artichoke dip to your sandwich for a real treat!)

The service is lovely, the ambiance is great, the outdoor patio is lovely in the warmer months, and if you sit at the bar it's impossible to leave without making new friends.

Ideal for date night, a quick bite, a night cap, or just a place to escape the house for a bit... I highly recommend checking out this Riverwest neighborhood gem.

Pretty space with multiple seating areas offering tables, high tops, and bar. Low lighting creates an intimate setting perfect for couples and a relaxing vibe for friends. Service for us was fast and friendly, and our server was helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations. I had the Beet and Goat Cheese salad with Steak, and it was very good. I ordered my steak medium-rare, and it was done perfectly. While the dressing was a delicious vinegarette, there was a little too much to keep the greens from getting soggy the next day, so it's best to enjoy this all in one sitting. We had a party of 4 and were able to grab a high top around 6:45 on a Friday, which was lucky. This place is strictly first come first serve and fills up fast.

I arrived with my vested service dog and was told I had to eat outside. When I told the staff member that he is trained to respond to my disability, the person responded flippantly and said “no dogs because of food” which would make sense if he was not a service dog in his vest or was misbehaving in some way. This is an extraordinary find, a corner restaurant in a totally ALIVE Riverwest historic neighborhood. The brunch was inviting, as was our server, and all of us chose the stuffed hashbrowns with a Bloody Dorma. They were attractively presented and creatively prepared. I frequent this place pretty often. The food is primarily salads and sandwiches, but it's all phenomenal. It has a good bar with a large beer selection a very nice atmosphere inside as well as outdoor seating.

nice dark ambiance inside. loud club style music which was unexpected. ended up sitting outside. the server was so nice! we were from out of town & she gave us good options on places to go around town & it was perfect. great wine selection & the food was IMMACULATE

A solid mix of working class and great Italian. The panini's are stellar, thoughtfully crafted with unique quality ingredients. Happy hour is better than it has any right to be. Seriously good prices, hopefully they get a bigger following to be able to rationalize opening for lunch.
