Had an absolutely wonderful experience with the chef's menu, strongly recommend their wine pairing to go with it. These folks know what they are doing! Every dish skillfully and lovingly crafted. Beautiful local ingredients and wonderful explanation of each course. You'd pay a lot more for this in the city! Figure around $100 plus tip per person. Flavor, atmosphere, variety all exquisite.

Loved this cozy spot! Went there for a friend's birthday and was amazed by the quality, personability, and knowledge of the staff.
Food comes out in courses and the chef also talks to each table about each dish. Loved being able to chat with the chef. Food was outstanding. Most, if not all, is locally sourced.
Accommodating to those needing gluten free dishes. Dietary restrictions requests are preferred in advance.

Adorable place that provides an experience built around great food- and we didn’t have to drive to the cities to get it! We had the full courses menu, great flavors and loved the cheesecake as a non-cheesecake person. This is not an in and out, quick bite place; 6 courses takes time. Go with the right expectations and you won’t be disappointed! Oh yeah, the building entrance is 100% wheelchair (including power) accessible.

What a beautiful 5 course dinner with my daughter for her 14th birthday! The atmosphere is quaint and refreshing. I am thankful to hold this special memory in my heart. What's even better is that she would like to come back! Happy humans! :) Top notch. Brussel sprouts were a sensation- did a unicorn make these?! From the soup, to salad and phenomenal steak I'm not sure who couldn't ask for more. Don't let me forget the PASTA. Wowza. Wine pairings are also excellent. I would highly recommend ladies and gents.

Went to celebrate New Years at Nettie's Volta with my husband, over $100 a plate, food was cold and not good. We have pretty refined palettes and were very excited to try this restaurant. However, it was disappointing. We came for a 9pm service and we didn't leave until well after midnight because courses took so long to come out. When plates did come out, the flavors weren't good and they were cold. Really wanted to like this place. Will say that the tiramisu was excellent, probably the best tiramisu I've ever had!

Every course was interesting, delicious, artistic. My guests loved the wine pairings while I enjoyed two different lagers. And the service was phenomenal: informative, timely, funny. If you want great healthy food, bring a friend you like to talk with.
On the way home we raved about the whole experience.

A real gem in (very) small town Wisconsin. The place is intimate, but not fancy. The food is amazing. Chef Dave really does a fantastic job pulling together a wonderful selection from the best of the season. It's a bit of a hike from the Twin Cities but well worth the trip.

A wonderful surprise in the driftless area of Wisconsin in downtown Plum City.
Nestled in a picturesque valley where Plum Creek flows lies a delightful promise of an unforgettable culinary experience with its fusion of flavors and cozy ambiance. My recent visit to this restaurant left me delighted and surprised, and I am excited to share my experience.
Upon entering Nettie’s Volta, we were greeted by warm smiles and a charming décor. The soft lighting and soothing background music set the perfect tone for an evening of indulgence.
As I perused the menu, I was intrigued by the diverse selection of dishes. After much deliberation, we decided to start with the roasted vegetables and grilled olives, which were both perfectly seasoned and presented. The combination of textures and flavors was simply divine, leaving us eager for more. The drink menu had much to select from to satisfy parings with your starters and entree. The chef took the time to answer our numerous questions; it was truly a pleasure to make his acquaintance.
For the main course, I opted for the chef's special: Rabbit with roasted cauliflower and zucchini. This dish was exceptional. My wife has the 14oz NY strip steak with salmoriglio sauce and roasted baby potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a delightful hint of herbs and spices. The sides complemented the dish beautifully, adding depth and richness to every bite. The rest of the table ordered pasta dishes that looked incredible and I heard nothing but accolades about them.
To complete our culinary journey, we along with the other four guest in our party indulged in dessert. We ordered a variety of desserts and were especially delighted by the meringue dish.

This gem in a tiny town is worth the drive! The atmosphere was cozy and well thought out. The food was elevated, and everyone was raving about their meals.
The service was slower, but they had a server out, and the chef and his son were very attentive, so there were no real complaints there.
We also were not in a hurry and were enjoying the ability to talk and hear one another at our table, so it was perfect for us. Great wine and beer list. We had a party of 6 and oftentimes in a group, we can't hear each other or we feel rushed. That was not the case at all.
We had apps, entrees, desserts, plus drinks, and we felt the bill was appropriate for the experience. Highly recommend!

We went to Nettie's Volta on our 10th anniversary. We were in the Plum City area for family Christmas celebrations. I saw the tasting menu beforehand and was intrigued and excited. Despite my excitement going in, the food, wine and experience blew me away! Chef Dave did an incredible job adjusting dishes based on what he and his staff tasted as well as explaining their wine choices. I understand many people aren't seeking out Plum City but, if you are in the area, want some incredible food (foodies included because even the discerning palate will be pleased!) and a great experience, Nettie's Volta is the place to go! Very excited that this restaurant is near our extended family so we can visit on a regular basis.

I was here for the first time this October. It was a truly unique experience for the area. You'd be hard pressed to find fresher ingredients or more careful presentation. That led to a really enjoyable meal in a cozy setting. Highly recommended for date nights or just to take a night off from cooking.
