I loved the decor in this restaurant, I loved the seating overlooking to street below, I loved the ambiance. My onion rings came with cocktail sauce, which I thought was weird, but it was delicious! The salad bar had a nice selection & the dressings were great! The prices were high, the cheapest sandwich was $9, but it is a touristy area so you kind of have to expect that. It was such good food that it was worth it!

Lovely atmosphere. We came for lunch and the food and beers were spectacular (draft spotted cow with some Rosti and Wienerschitzel) — the portions were very generous. The service was great too. I’d highly recommend you giving it a try. We’ll certainly be back.

Day trip/lunch for Mom's bday - it was fabulous! I had the rösti with veal and smoked brats. Mom had the ham and cheese rösti. Big portions! The service was friendly and masks were worn by staff and required for diners. Can't wait to come back for fondue and schnitzel!

We looked everywhere to find raclette and this was the closest we could find to Chicago. They are located in a charming little Swiss-themed town with the friendliest people imaginable, both at the restaurant and in town. Great dinner rolls! I enjoyed my sauerbraten; it was a treat because I rarely eat red meat. Although the raclette wasn't as good as that found in Europe, it was tasty and a lot closer to Chicago.

My friends and I visited New Glarus to go to the brewery and decided to eat here because of the good reviews. The experience was really disappointing. We all waited over 30 minutes for our drinks (1 beer, 1 bottle of wine, 2 other glasses of wine). A lot of the food left something to be desired. The live music and dancing was fun, but didn't make up for the service. Not sure if we just got a bad waitress or if they were under staffed that night.

We just stopped into the restaurant and there was no one to greet us for a few minutes and then we were sat with menus by a young man. No one stopped at our table or acknowledged us for 15 minutes and when decided to leave the young man who sat us just stared as we walked out. Cool place to go 👍🏻

Well to be honest. I came here 3 times so far. They used to have a Swiss Chef who cooked very well but as far as I know he is not there anymore. The last visit was rather disappointed with the food. Had the Bratwurst with Rösti. Rösti was greasy and the sausage dry. Well its never as good as back home. The Restaurant is very lovely decorated and the staff is friendly but not worth the 2h drive to get there.

Went on Valentine's Day. They had an excellent looking couples surf and turf special. We tried the Alpine Corden Bleu, which was great, the jagerschnitzel, superb and the weinerschnitzel which was fantastic. Salad bar is good but limited selection. The soup of the day, included with the meal, was a tomato bisque that even though my wife hates tomatoes, she loved.
The only caveat is if you need to go to the bathroom, bring a space heater, they're freezing.

We have eaten here a few times over the last couple of years. There seemed to be some employee issues as none of them seemed happy and the women who finally acknowledged we were waiting to be seated was a little smart with us. The food quality seemed less than what we were use to from them. Maybe just a bad day, it was a Wed at 11:00 a.m.

Awesome place, great service! The atmosphere was one of a kind, different areas to serve whatever mood you're in. Want a quieter, head down to the pizza place, want a more cozy one on one, the bar to the side, tear it up with a large group there's the big room and lastly a place to just sit and have dinner.

Absolutely loved this place! This would be the restaurant I’d recommend if you’re going to make a stop at a restaurant in the downtown area. The menu is traditional Swiss food with options for those who are pickier eaters. There is tons of seating and the atmosphere is fun. Service was good and pricing was average, might be semi-pricy for a family. Make sure to try the deserts, they are made in house by one of the waitresses. Although it is a bit dated on the inside, there is still lots of charm to the decor.

Over priced. Dingy. Run down tourist trap. Nobody ever around to get service. The windows in the front where all the booths are and most people like to sit were super dirty and could hardly see out. The food was terrible. The roesti were soggy and nothing like it should be. The owner must make so much money of this place that he has no longer any pride. Pitty.

Waited for a bit.. there were 2 large rooms they were not seating ppl in? But we waited. Food was very basic and not very tasty. Portions were small and extremely overpriced. We had a great experience. Our waiter Tom/Tim? was awesome! He knew the food and was so hospitable. He was the the only waiter of staff at the time and was super swamped but made checked in often and made sure every table was taken care of. His recommendations for food were on point! They have a Friday night seafood buffet and Saturday night meat buffet. Both are very good the prices aren't that bad. Only thing is it gets quite when the Swiss band starts to play. So you better enjoy good Swiss music.
