Have always enjoyed the waffles with strawberries at Family Diner. It has been our way of treating ourselves to a dessert that we didn't want to make for ourselves. This time the experience has soured my appetite to go back. The strawberries were not very presentable, may have been frozen instead of fresh. They in the past were always reddish, now they almost looked grayish. No whipping cream was put on the serving as in the past and when order was taken I asked for extra strawberries, of which I expected to pay extra for. When the dish was brought out I was told that they didn't give extra strawberries because they didn't know how much was meant by extra. And the price has jumped immensely and the quality of the waffle has decreased. Needless to say I won't be back for waffles & strawberries.

This place used to be so good, now it's really went down hill. Some.of.the staff are really very rude . They're short staffed , so they're all running around like chickens with their heads cut off . Went to ask about placing a to go order from the girl at the register , she said let me check and disappeared for 5 minutes came back to the register and I asked her again can place a to go order , she yes but I have to take these menus first . Well , that made me mad , I was there first , and then she went and told our waitress , who I couldn't get her attention in the first place . How rude !!!!! I will say our waitress was polite and got our order right , but it really did not taste good . The bacon tastes awful , and the American fries too. Yuck !!!! Couldn't eat either one . My dinner was great, the grilled hamburger steak with baked potato and salad. I had sauted mushrooms added to my steak and raw onion to my salad. My only complaint was I asked for a medium rare steak, and it was cooked well done. Plus, the rice pudding was not cooked through. It was crunchy.
My Mom's meal, on the other hand, was greasy. She had the chicken and american fries. So disappointing. She ate the wing and took the other 3 pieces home to remove as much grease and shred it for her dog.
Plus, she said the ladies' room had a horrible smell, like musty mold.

When I walked into the establishment the older gentleman at the door didn’t greet me just looked at me walk toward him behind the counter. I finally said I’d like to dine in. I knew right then and there they are not accustomed to seeing people that look like myself. Fine. I end up in a lot of small towns as a trucker. I decided to go with the meatloaf and potatoes. And chicken rice soup. The soup was great. Then my plate comes out and no exaggeration, it looks like just a plate of gravy. I couldn’t see ANY PORTION OF MY FOOD. I asked the server to take it back and replate it with a quarter of the gravy. She brought it back out and it looked %100 better. When I tell you it was the most disgusting food I have ever received from a restaurant, it is the honest to Gods truth. Literally everything was gross. I barely touched it, paid my bill and left. This establishment will not get a second chance.

A family restaurant with a family dining room atmosphere. Friendly and accommodating servers. Their food isn't fancy but I enjoy their meals which include soup or salad, choice of potato (unless included is the main entree), vegetable, main entree and finished off with a dessert (jello, vanilla or mint chocolate chip ice cream or rice pudding when they have it). This visit I had all you care to eat fish, a salad with onion added. My potato choice was hash browns with onions and cheese to take home for breakfast to eat with eggs. Corn was the vegetable which was taken home and made into scalloped corn bake to go with BBQ ribs. Since we had a baby with us we took our mint ice cream to go as well. Everything I had was fresh, prepared well and delicious.

I have celiac disease and haven't had an issue with there food but once two yrs ago when the owner wasn't there for a while and something changed in the fajitas my Son picked up for me. I had a reaction.. now that owner has been back no problem. Food I choose is great so if you have the same health issue I have your sure to find dishes on their menu that are great

Needs more comfortable chairs. Ok if you enjoy sitting on toilet seats for long periods of time. I would prefer if kitchen were to take time to chop up huge chunks of vegetables in the omelets. Onion skin peels still attached. Green pepper seeds with core. Pure laziness imho. I want to eat not do the prep work . The chicken is drowning in grease. They never ever have the French onion soup that's advertised on the internet menu.

New to the area and decided to stop by because it's next door to Walmart. The hostess was not at the counter at any point during our visit. We were standing at the front and she came by and said to sit anywhere. The waitress was a nice gal with long hair with a braid. We all got basic stuff. Everything was okay, standard diner food. I was able to add jalapeños and bacon to a stuffed omelet. Our entrees were $11 each and the kids menu was $5. When it was time to pay we were left standing around for the hostess to come back. Even at that point she didn't greet us, or thank us at all. Which is really why I'm only giving 4 stars because it wasn't hospitable at all for being a small town diner.

The place is kept clean and there is a daily special board by the entrance. We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed our meal. Came here for the AYCE fish fry, which is usually quite good. Again, the food was quite good. The bowl of cheesy potato soup was fine, but barely lukewarm. Server went and warmed it up, but didn’t bring it back for awhile, until she brought out the main course.
We declined the vegetable side dish (green beans), and I asked if I could substitute something (cottage cheese) for the veggie. She stated I could.
The fish, potato, etc were all fine.
When we received the bill, I was surprised, and annoyed, to find we had been charged over $3 for the small dish of cottage cheese. I asked the server about it, and she told me that she should have mentioned there would be an extra charge. I agreed, she should have, but she didn’t.
Went to pay the bill and when the cashier (manager?) asked how everything was, I told her about the extra charge, and that the server hadn’t said anything about it when she said I could substitute. She actually stood there and debated the issue with me, and didn’t seem to care in the least about the lapse on the server’s part.
In the end, she deducted the charge, but we sure didn’t appreciate the excuses!

Ok so first time I ate there I was not impressed with the food, greasy not alot of flavor. Came back tonight after driving 9 hours gave them a second chance, that was a mistake .
Service was as expected good but not the greatest, food mozzarella sticks with marinara was ok, soup was ok , garlic cheese bread ? I wouldn't call it that was more like a piece of bread with a piece of melted cheese on it only ate 1 of the 2 pieces and only because I dipped it in the marinara sauce, now as for the meatloaf came out with a blob of brown stuff on it cut it open outside was hot and Inside was ice cold, nice didn't even bother with it. Paid my bill left waitress a tip and will never go back food is absolutely tasteless and not worth eating unless you like bad food.

Walked in about 7pm. Not a single person was in the diner and I should have walked back out at that point. Service was terrible. Couldn’t even make bloody Mary’s. Never came to check back on how the food was, probably a reason why she didn’t. My father finally received his dinner after we were just about finished with ours after I had to grab someone to see if my father was ever going to get his food. They didn’t even realize he didn’t have it. Again we were the only ones in the place at 7pm Then to try and find someone to pay the bill. What a joke. You all should be ashamed!
