I paid 40 dollars for 2 egg rolls the size of my pinky finger, chicken lo mean, and chicken fried rice, which I ordered without bean sprouts, but there were sprouts... Plus, the delivery bag was soaked with soy sauce, as there were 2 soy packets empty at the bottom of the food containers. I had to wash off the other packets, and my counter and floor from the mess... The delivery was fast, which is nice, but not for this!

Do NOT recommend this place. You know I have to be upset to remember to write a review the day after. First let’s start with the horrible customer service. Lady at the register had a big sore on her lip and was very rude as if she didn’t want to even take my order. Place order for the boneless spare rib dinner which includes and egg roll and pork fried rice. When I say that it was more pork chopped up in the rice than on the pork ribs itself. Nothing but big pieces of pork fat. Sauce and FAT. Egg roll was the size of a Vienna sausage no lie. Save your money and time by going somewhere else if you want quality Chinese food and to be treated like your service/money is welcome.

False Advertising!!
If you click on go to website you can see the menu and order from there. That is what I did. I ordered a Dinner Special, beef chop suey. (It very clearly states at the top of the *Dinner Specials* section:
Served from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Served with Chicken Fried Rice and Choice of: 1 Egg Roll, Can Soda or 2 Crab meat Rangoon

I actually made notes to the staff stating that I’d prefer shrimp friend rice over chicken and if it’s only a small amount I’ll just pay for everything separately.

I had my order delivered. Sat down to eat and I have NO FRIED RICE of any kind!!!!

I called the restaurant and spoke to one of the managers who said yea we don’t do that anymore! I said it states you do right on your website! He said no, I looked if you click order online there’s a different menu and you go though Uber eats Door dash Etc…

Either way this mgr said too bad we will not come bring you any, that’s not our problem! I live not even a mile away, and they will not give any refund of any kind.
I told him I will be writing a negative review he said go right ahead and then…
The man hung up on me!!!

If I had clicked the other way, it wouldn’t have given me the dinner specials option. But it’s not my fault they haven’t got their calendars in sync!

Lastly with the several notes as you can see on my receipt, they should’ve called and said we don’t have this, what would you like us to do!

I placed an order for the 1st time with this restaurant. I ordered large shrimp in lobster sauce, large combination rice, 2 large sweet and sour chicken and 4 egg rolls. The combination rice was missing all together. The shrimp in lobster sauce barely had any shrimp in it and the size of everything was barely enough. I typically order this same size meal for my family of 5. It was half the amount of food which is crazy when I spend almost $100. I will say the food we did get was tasty, but there is not enough for my family to all eat.

It you want great, authentic homemade Chinese food…….this is the place. Honestly, the best chicken fried rice you’ll ever eat, amongst everything else. Horrible customer service. Ordered on July 13th, 2020 around 8pm. The delivery driver forgot some of our food.
When we called the restaurant a man answered and told us to call the next day (Tuesday July 14th) and they would re deliver the portion of food that we paid for. They are closed on Tuesdays... When we called today (July 15th) a woman answered and kept saying that we have to order food again. The fried rice is bland, and the sesame chicken has hardly any sauce; so beware before ordering.

When the driver arrived she began ringing the doorbell and pounding on the door furiously. Handed me the food and said "here ya go". Very unprofessional, sorry you messed up my first order, however, I won't be ordering again. 0/10 would not recommend.

I really enjoyed the online ordering. I don't always like talking to people, especially when there is a language barrier. This feature makes for virtually zero face time. If you are an agoraphobic or anxious person like me but enjoy tasty foreign cuisine this local restaurant has you covered. Oh and they are really fast too. A little pricy for the portion but not having to struggle through another conversation with a stranger makes it all worth it.

I used to come here often for great take out. Today I ordered General Tso's chicken (one of my favorites) The chicken looked like some old popcorn chicken left in the freezer to long. Normally you'd get these nice sized pieces, breaded and tender. These little pieces I got were tough to chew, and not just a few but every single piece was tough and un edible. I may not return to this place in the future. I know a 1 time thing can happen but this was just gross.

I placed an order for delivery. When it arrived, the egg foo young gravy lid was smashed in and I had to fish small pieces of plastic out (about 6 pieces - that I found anyway). Figured I'd still give the food a chance but it was literally sitting in a 1/2 inch of grease. When I put in a complaint, I made it clear I wanted a refund. I had tried the food, it was disgusting. I did not want a new order. I was informed that I could only get a discount on a future order of an appetizer. I was then laughed at and told that there was no way she believed I threw the food away. Even after I offered to show the pictures, I was told to get the food (from my garbage although she didn't believe this) and bring it in to show them and exchange. Finally she told me to call the owner in the morning but all he'd offer is a discount. Horrible food and horrible service. Don't order from here.

Have ordered several times in the past. The food was decent, but from the last order, I am compelled to review. The food arrived after 90 minutes and was just a little warm than room temperature. Egg rolls were soggy and shrimp fried rice had 4 shrimp in the entire order. Doubtful that I will order from here again. Horrible delivery time, and when I got the food, the sweet and sour sauce had been shoved through the lid of the gravy container, and there was a flood of gravy in the bag that got on EVERYTHING, including my coat, furniture and my son's clothes when we tried to take the food out. I asked for a refund. They said drive it back here and we will give you one. I said no, if I could have driven to pick this garbage up in the first place I wouldn't have had it delivered. I said I want you to deliver my money back to me including tip ($26) and I'll give that mess back to the driver. First time I ordered from them was after work and it was late after, 10 on a Sunday I think, and they were the only place that delivered. Ordered the general tso chicken, egg rolls, and fried rice. Everything was great and they come in the good plastic containers that I reuse for everything.

Since then I've ordered from them close to 10 times. I usually get the same thing but have tried some different sides. The only iside I have had was they mix up the general tso size. Instead of the full container of chicken I've gotten the one that's half vegetables which is annoying.

When I have Chinese food, I generally judge the freshness of the vegetables by whether celery and water chestnuts are crunchy - then you know they have not been stewing in a pot for a long time. At New No. 1, I have always had crunchy vegetables. The selection is larger than a typical Chinese restaurant and the food is tasty. There is very limited seating but then this is basically a take out place. Parking is ample and it is handicap accessible. The only 'down side' is that they are a bit higher priced than their competitors.

Don't waste your money. The portions are small & the food is just ok. They put the rice in with the entre as a filler instead of on the side like most places. They also messed up my order & when I called about it they said I didn't order that, like I don't know what I ordered. They offered to make it, but would have to pick it up. If you want great Chinese food in this area go to Panda Hut on 72nd & National, the food is much better, & the portions are twice the size & it's the same price. New No. 1 is a rip off.

I have never written an online review about anything, much less a negative review of a strip mall restaurant but in this case I feel like it is the responsible thing to do. I'm not writing this review to be cruel or rash but this was, hands down, the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. I got the wing and rice dinner combo with "lemon pepper flavor" and chicken fried rice. The flavor that was put on the chicken wings was so overdone and incredibly salty that I physically could not eat it. The chicken fried rice that came with the wings was in the same container so the rice was contaminated with the inedible flavoring and ruined as a result. While I was waiting for my food in the restaurant I witnessed the delivery driver mistakenly take a customer's pick up order out for a delivery run and it took about 15 minutes for Number One to track down this guy's food and get it back to the restaurant for him. Also, my sister said her lo-mein was bland and generally bad quality.

Anyone who says all Chinese food (Americanized) is the same - is wrong. Everything about the food from this West Allis restaurant is subpar.
- They got our phone delivery order wrong, even though the order taker said she understood. When you order shrimp and you get chicken - that is a major problem.
- The pea pods were the cheapest quality thin type, that were therefore overcooked and limp and an unappetizing olive/gray/green.
- The fried rice was tasteless, Hardly any meat or shrimp or vegetables and no egg.
- The chicken satay appetizers were dry and overdone - again with hardly any discernible flavor. (On the bright side, our dogs liked them.)
- The egg rolls might have had meat in the filling, but it was so fine, you couldn't discern a texture or flavor.
- The rangoon appetizers were soggy and the filling bland.
The restaurant owner(s) and cooks must not think much of the American palette - or their reputation.
> We will never order from them again and my suggestion is you don't either. We will make the extra effort go out for Chinese. (As we are new to the S.W. side, Fortune on Hwy 100 is the best we've found so far for standard Chinese food. (And the service was pleasant too.)

The egg rolls were soggy. The rice was slightly burned and the BBQ ribs were bad quality meat. Over half of the meat was just fat. I really wanted to give this place a fair chance, but this was not god enough for me to order there again. The ordering itself was easy and the delivery was fast.

I had to write and tell everyone how good this place is !!!! Ordered from here last night for the first time. Very easy online ordering with delivery service that was faster than the estimated ready time. Food arrived fast, hot and delicious!! The five members of my family each had a different dinner entree and everyone was pleased. This will be our ONLY Chinese take out place from now on.

Ordered a big delivery and it arrived after a fair amount of time.. Food was hot and fresh so I cannot complain, although it didnt go well with a couple of my coworkers stomachs.. I feel great though!!

Lets face it, Chinese is Chinese, the food most likely always tastes the same no matter where you get it

My favorite for takeout. I order for delivery online. Food arrives within 30-45 minutes. This is definitely not an eat in place. Food arrives fresh and hot. small portions run about $5.50. Large portions about $9.75. Order before 2pm for the lunch special. Such a deal. They have dinner specials for about $8.

HORRIBLE customer service. We ordered Fried shrimp appetizer and they brought French fries. We called to let them know so they could bring the shrimp and the lady who spoke very little English started to argue with me that I said it wrong! I explained to her that after I placed the order the person on the phone repeated it so I don't see how I was at fault. I then asked to speak to a manager and she said I IN CHARGE. I asked again if she could just please bring the shrimp. She said that they would not exchange the fries for the shrimp and would charge me for both the fries and the shrimp (not to mention having to wait another 30 minutes). I told her that I would not order from here again because her customer service was poor and she said she didn't care and kept insisting it was my fault. Lastly, I asked for a different manager or the owner and she said no, no, no. After that I hung up because you can get generic Chinese food anywhere around here.
