Love Nimrods! We come up to Asthelstane once a year to do some Atving. Nimrods is always a highlight of our trip. Bar staff is great. Friday fish fry is amazing! We love the salad bar and gizzards are well known across northern Wisconsin. Never left disappointed!

It was our first time trying Nimrod's and it was very good. Had to wait for a table on a Sunday night about 20-30 minutes. They have a nice sized bar area where we waited with some drinks for our table. Once seated service was good and the food was amazing. I had the family style broasted chicken. Tasted like having Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma's house. It was homemade and everything was spot on including the chicken which was crispy but not too greasy, mashed potatoes and gravy plus stuffing and corn were all excellent. My husband had the walleye and was given two huge portions of walleye. Again breading was crispy and not greasy, his twice baked potato was perfect also. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Very busy place. Reservations recommended. Very "up north" type supper club. They have gizzards on the salad bar. Both salad bar options and gizzards were very good. Our server oddly enough didn't know what beer they had, she said she "wasn't a bartender." As a waitress for many years, knowing what is available is part of the job. The ribs were a big hit, steaks were great as well. Good side options, including a twice baked potato.

We have been here several times. The prime rib is good, the salad bar is ok, but we just went on a Fri and ordered steak. It was horrific! A steak does not need 4lbs of butter. If you know how to cook a steak, it should taste fresh on its own. The texture was also not quite right. We were not going to say anything, but the waitress asked after noticing it remained untouched. We shared that it was not good. The "chef" came out to argue that it tasted like all their other steaks. Please respect my opinion then when I say, noted, we won't order steaks here anymore. Instead, he became offended and rude and it trickled down to the waitress who also became very unfriendly. Please don't ask for feedback of you don't want it. We were just going to walk away quietly. We were not 1 time customers you never have to worry about again, but I can assure you, we will never be back. I would much rather support a deserving restaurant.

The food was outstanding. My ribeye was seasoned perfect. But this is the type of service they have. My steak was a little over done. I didn't say anything. We were a group of about 20. Waitress comes out and gives me another ribeye. I'm confused. She says the chief wasn't happy with the cook on your steak. Wow wow wow. Salad bar has all your supper club goodies Including some amazing gizzards. Watch out for the waitress that wanted to spank me. She made me laugh. Oh and do not call her mam. But in all seriousness the staff was wonderful. So if your up in marinette county and want that old supper club feeling, it's the place.

Strange experience, arrived at 5:00pm on a Sunday night 3 weeks ago. White/Grey/haired Female bartender never raised her head to acknowledge us. Ignored me for 10 minutes while I was standing at the bar waiting to order a drink and sign in for dinner. All the while covering other customers at the bar which was about 1/2 full. Finally took our drink order and said she would call a waitress. 30 minutes later - round 2 - same situation. Ordered another drink and asked if I misunderstood something about signing in for dinner as no wait staff ever came to take our order - replied again she would call the waitress. 20 minutes later and after a walk through the 1/2 populated dining room we went to sit at the bar to see if this would improve our odds…. She greeted us like she had never seen us and asked “if we would be eating there tonight”. With frustration growing after close to 2 hours invested, we asked how long the wait would be and were told “about 30-40 minutes”. We have heard a lot of great things about the Nimrod however have never eaten there…. Not sure it’s possible. No intent to disparage a hard working business owner however if this were my business I would want to know. Fully understand how tough it is to find help in this day, and empathize with the situation - and would have fully understood if the white haired bartender had the courtesy to just let us know. I have seen several similar posts here related to service - not sure if there is a secret handshake or password required to get served at this establishment. Best wishes to the Nimrod, perhaps we will stop again some sometime.

We were there for their Easter Brunch. It was fantastic! It had something for everyone. Delicious Prime Rib, ham, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gizzards,salad bar,soup,fresh hot bread, and homemade desserts, and so much more! $28 for a 6oz tenderloin in the north woods is quite pricey. For being one of, if not the most expensive steaks in the area, you would think it would be fantastic. Unfortunately, our steaks were nothing but gristle. Most of which we had to spit out into our napkins as we were unable to chew them enough to swallow. Salad bar is decent. Gizzards were great.

We have tried to eat here 3 times now and all 3 times we walked out. First time waited 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us, no luck. Second time, same thing. Last night had a reservation at 6:30, walked in and stood there for 7 minutes while all the wait staff sat in the back working on what looked like their schedules on a white board before someone walked out and asked if we were there for dinner. Told her we had a reservation and she said 1 minute and then walked over to a table to take their order. After taking their order she disappeared and left us standing. After several minutes we walked out, again. We will never go back to this place. Service is horrible. Maybe if you're a local it's different. And $30 plus for a dinner at a local joint is crazy. Always feel like an outsider when we walk in so we will happily go elsewhere, like Sociables just down the road.

Stopped for dinner the day after lunch. Had the Tenderloin and Ribs combo and both were fantastic. They have a simple but fresh and good salad bar, including soup and gizzards (yuck). Dinner came with a loaf of bread, which was probably the weak part of the meal.
