We found this campground in a WI Campground group and we loved everything about our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Canoes on site available. The campground was almost fully booked during our stay but the sites are so big and spaciously separated that you barely noticed anyone else. It was quiet and peaceful, the fish were biting when it wasnt raining and the prices were great. The bathhouse was fabulous and clean. The option for full or partial hook up as well as lake site options were appreciated. We will absolutely be bringing friends back.

Loved staying here and eating dinner in the cocktail lounge (bar). Toby the cook, bartender and entertainer was awsome! Hung out with the locals and learned about the areaβs hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities. Our burgers and old fashions were delicious. Unfortunately it was a rainy day/evening so we did not get out on the lake but would love to return for another peaceful night sleep and the great food.

We canβt wait to come back! This place is nice and quaint, but the owners go above and beyond! We could not have asked for a better experience. There isnβt a better place with better people! We are so thankful to have stumbled upon The Northern Lure, our trip was a million times better because of their hospitality.

We stayed at the resort over the 4th of July weekend.my Granddaughter was playing with the owners children and as kids will be kids when I went to collect my Granddaughter the owner came to my site and accused me of bad mouthing her children .which I would never do we were told to keep the kids away from each .not very kid friendly. The garbage in the bathroom and laundry room were not emptied all weekend garbage was falling on the floor...this is the second time of posting a review I was told to take the first one down by the owners.as they called our friends and demanded we delete it ..it's nothing but a party fest and the customers are not tended to . Not worth the stay..

Catfish!!!
I travel the country for work in my RV, And then me in the family vacation in the summer, We have been all over the country and see about 15RV parks a year.
This place is not designed for families or children, Set up for more of the drinking and party in crowd. It seems most of the energy is focused on the bar and has allowed the campground to fall apart.
Pros:
1) This place has a lot of potential, Great for an ATV trip or snowmobile run with your boys, Maybe even some ice fishing trips.
2) There is a nice little on-site bar, And the prices are wonderful, Pretty nice menu however everything was sold out.
3) All the guests, staff and even owners were super friendly and helpful
4) Small and cozy I can imagine if this place was full it wouldn't be super crowded
5) Nice playground
6) Really nice state-run park and beach next door
Cons:
1) Dock and beach, So there is absolutely no dock it was pulled out of the water and up on the shore And we visited mid summer, In the pictures in the reviews and website they sold us on Family friendly fishing. There is no fishing whatsoever, Simply no room. The beach has been neglected And has become overgrown, Both in the water and out. Also the only way to access the beach is by walking through other folks campsite which feel quite awkward.
2) Landscaping, The park is mowed But only where you can reach with a riding mower, Everything else is a foot and a half high, Around every tree all along the beach, Definitely looks rough.
3) Park layout, There's no easy access to a map after booking, Which is no big deal however this is all online no one on-site to check you in, and point you to your spot, Then it can become tricky When there's multiple spots with the same number. All the sites by the lake are crunchand and would be very difficult to access if this place was busy and crowded. In addition it's designed to be A U turn and the exit has a big S in it that makes it difficult for big rigs to navigate.
4) Bar on-site, Simply put lots of non camper traffic, looking to get drunk. I would say the bar traffic is keeping this place alive.
5) Cabin rubble, On the walk to the beach you come upon some cabin rubble where it looks as though several cabins used to stand And we're demolished and left in its place is rubble with glass, rocks and wires sticking up out of the ground.
6) Garbage burning pit, driving in right out of the gate. There's no clear welcome center introducing you to the park giving you a map or helping you in any way being a non personnel park, But there's a big garbage burn in pit, lol.

This campground is beautiful and right on the lake. The sunsets are incredible. It's the perfect place to camp with by yourself or with friends and family. They have a great playground for kids and the road around the campground is a great place to ride bikes. In the bar area they serve drinks and delicious food (I recommend a Pink Lady on the Porch) . There are even some arcade games and pool table in there for kids and adults.
My family stayed in a cabin which was very clean and comfortable. The cabin was stocked with pots, pans, plates and silverware. I had to used the Landry Room which was also very clean.
The owner Taylor gave us some great ideas of places to go see. So if you don't know what to do just ask. He will definitely point you somewhere fun.
This is a great place to make memories and enjoy the outdoors. You won't go wrong booking this place for your next camping trip. We are counting the days until we can make it back again.

Iβm from the Lower peninsula in Michigan. And was treated like family from the get-go. Camp there for four days and of course there was a live band because there is a bar within the campground itself. Enjoy the music enjoyed the food and then enjoyed the company. My only wish is they would take a little bit more time cleaning the bathroom for the campground.

Booked an rv site, reasonably priced, the campground has a bar and sells burgers and pizza. Has a couple pingball games and packman table which was cool. Has a playground, basketball and lakesite. Which they offer canoes for free to go out on the lake. GREAT fishing spot !! Taylor one of the owners was extremely friendly and funny! 100% would come back. Overall sites are clean, pretty leval, and easy to maneuver. Con... no dump station unless you have hookup

If you're not a regular do NOT bother. Do NOT stay here with children. Drunken booze fest. No quiet hours enforcement. Seems to be the norm and condoned by the owners. Not kid friendly, despite attempts to appear that way with a playground. Complete disregard for campers. This is a glorified party-pad that happens to rent patches of lawn to camp.

This spot is one of my favorites! Campground is clean, nice and well kept. BUT do not miss out on what these guys have going on in The Longhouse (their bar/restaurant)! Best food I've ever had hands down! From the burgers, pizza, and smoked meat, to the raspberry lemonades and smoked old fashioneds, you will not be disappointed! I could go on for a while about the flavors they're creating, but just go try it yourself, you won't be disappointed! I'm up here multiple times a year and this is always a regular stop.

Northern Lure Resort & Campground is just a few miles outside Glidden, Wisconsin. It is a wonderful little hideaway with everything you need for an on-site RV experience. The sites are level, clean, and offer electrical and water hookups. The bathhouse/laundry room is impressively clean and nice. There is a playground and basketball court. You can also swim and fish in the lake. The restaurant/tavern has delicious food and drinks, pool tables, and even video games. You can get firewood on-site. Plus, the hosts are friendly, down-to-earth, and accommodating. There are only two downsides to the campground. First, you'll want to camp close to the tavern if you need Wi-Fi. The signal is weak. Otherwise, make sure you have a hotspot. Second, there's no onsite dumping station. Fortunately, there are dumping stations in the nearby towns. Otherwise, we LOVED our experience here and highly recommend it for tent, RV, or cabin camping. Thanks, Tiffany!

The good things about this resort are the beautiful location, the new shower /laundry building and the food at the bar . It was also great to have someone direct us to our site and help with parking. Theyβre in the process of renovating so hopefully the negative things about the resort will be addressed soon, such as no dumping station and it is only mentioned in the terms and conditions email they send out the day before our stay, we were able to go to copperfalls national park about 10 miles away and dump for $10 on the way home. Also if you need to be connected to the outside world you may find that hard to do here, I had absolutely no cell signal. This was the only campground we could find with a spot available for when we needed, located an hour away from where we wanted to visit.

Apparent that renovations are under way, with newer updates to the bathrooms, playground, cabins, and other facilities, but unfortunately these did not make for a pleasant stay. The beach was not as advertised, with no real βsandβ and advice from the owner (upon arrival) to not swim or enter barefoot to prevent cut feet. The best use was for fishing or frog catching in the mud/reeds.
New playground equipment was installed, but it had no posted rules and no soft underlay (e.g. wood chips, recycled tire) as are standard elsewhere. Despite no rules, owners and other staff frequently yelled at our group (stop that! Or, donβt climb there!) from across the camp with no conversation explaining to the adults or children expectations for use. My children ended up hesitant to use the equipment for fear of being yelled at.
In nearly 15 years of camping it was the first genuinely unpleasant experience I have had with a private WI camp.

I wish time could have stood still and I didnβt have to leave. What a lovely place. Canoes, cabins, camp sites- some with full hookup. It is on a serene quiet lake called Gordon Lake. We stayed in our motorhome and had gorgeous views. There are not a lot of cabins on this lake, which makes it so much more private. The new owners (since 2017), have made major improvements. Iβll be back next year.

Use to camp here multiple times many years ago. Very remote, bring all your necessities. No store at campground if you need something. Not very family oriented.
Not very impressed for new owners taking over either! Was no personal contact when booking or checking in, no ice available had to go into town everyday for ice. Bar was even closed in the beginning of the week. Bathroom was new, but no mirrors or hooks or shelf in the middle shower! Bathrooms were not cleaned daily also. Very young kids driving/racing Atvβs around the campground in the mornings. Very unsafe for others !!! Sites were okay! Never again would I stay here!

I will first say that it is a very nice campground. Grounds are taken care of and clean. You can tell improvements are ongoing. Handy to trail.
Now the problems
Short staffed. No one seems to be checking in arrivals. The site we had email confirmation on was occupied by another camper. They need someone to help sort out the campground while the owner is taking care of the bar. Acknowledging it's hard to find help, but cook and bar keep is not a one man job. Also, any menu changes need to be posted clearly at bar. WiFi info would be appreciated as service is sketchy

We stopped at the Northern Lure for a night on our way to Madeline Island. We were able to reserve a spot online just a few hours prior to arriving and we were welcomed by many friendly faces.
The camp host was very kind and accommodating. The grounds are small but serene and peaceful. The new kids playground was a blast and perfect for our girls. The bathroom and shower facilities are exceptionally clean and beautiful.
The small beach was quiet and enjoyable and we ate a really tasty smoked pork and chicken dinner at the tavern on site prepared by the host himself.
All in all we had a great experience. A true gem you can tell is working hard to be a welcoming family friendly destination.
Although the drop was unplanned we will definitely be back! Thanks Northern Lure!

We happened to stumble upon this campground while looking for a spot with ATV trail access and we couldn't have been happier! The Hosts, Taylor and Tiffany were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We spent a week in a very large full hookup site near the lake with beautiful views, especially at sunset. The campground is so laid back and relaxing, if you are looking for a refreshing spot to rejuvenate this is the place for you! Access to the ATV trail was nearby, we rode bicycles around the neighborhood and spent a lot of time at the nearby Copper Falls, the list of activities is endless. We highly recommend this campground and we will absolutely be returning for a future trip!!

If you want a truly RUSTIC and simply beautiful experience with all the hospitality of a large chain hotel, look no further! Northern Lure was the choice destination for our honeymoon and it was every bit of lovely and perfect serenity that we were looking for. Tiffany & Taylor were wonderful to us from the moment we booked our cabin over the phone (#4) to the moment we left. We never wanted to leave! With all of the beautiful naturalistic treasures to explore, we were never bored and could have stayed two weeks and would have barely brushed the surface of the simple beauty that is Northern Lure.
This is a northwoods RUSTIC experience. Treat it like what itβs meant for, camping and off-grid living and you WILL NOT be disappointed! If you want fresh linens and folded toliet paper every day, go to town.
To top it off, we brought our fur baby with us and they treated her like any other guest, like a member of their family. THAT meant everything to us and weβre deeply humbled by the overwhelming welcoming we and our puppers had.
We WILL be back and weβre singing to the world of how amazing this truly simple and amazing place will forever have a special place in our hearts β€οΈ

Our stay at the campgrounds was great! We originally came to this campgrounds because of Google reviews. Our trip was to ride the ATV trails. Sites are large enough to be trailer friendly. ( I had a SxS and a quad). There is also an area set aside to wash ATV/UTV's after a day on the trails. View the lake is great. It was really cool to have the bar close by. Over our 4 night stay, we got pizza twice. It's that good! It's neat that when toppings come with a pizza. They are piled on. Make sure you bring some bug spray as they get kind of bad in the evenings and mornings.
Why N.L. does not deserve 5 stars yet:
The restroom facility is brand new. There is cleaning that needs to be done on the inside. When we arrived there was still sand and dirt on the floors with a broom in the corner with very little to no soap or toilet paper. 4 days later it's still the same. Toilet paper in both bathrooms was low as well as having no soap. The atmosphere in the bar was very cozy and welcoming. Similar to the bathrooms, the bar had some crumbs left over from the previous customers (possibly from us two nights before) when we sat down. Daily cleaning and bathroom checks was the base of our concerns.

This is a very hospitable place with tons of beautiful trees. It's located directly on Gordon Lake so make sure to rent a jet ski or small boat for fishing. There's cabins, full hook-up RV sites, and 1/2 service camp sites. A 40' travel trailer was no problem. There's also a bar located on site with arcade games, that can serve pizza and burgers. Wildlife roams the beautiful grounds so you will feel very close to nature. Bring some OFF! and you'll have a blast with family and friends. There's also a childrens' playground.

When we first walked in it seemed nice with the bar. Met the owner ( im assuming) which he seemed very nice. The female that was there didn't seem so friendly. Got the key to the cabin, then that's when things really went wrong. There was no numbers on the cabins, kinda had to guess. Was hoping for a nice cabin, but that was far from it! Walked into a musty smell, cabin was VERY out dated, no pictures or decorations, did not feel welcoming at all! The couch was HORRIFIC looking, filled with stains and really showed the wear on it. The beds Said 2 queen beds but one was full size. I went, as I do in every hotel or place I stay in and check the sheets, bed frames and mattress for bugs, and sure enough there was a little spider in one of the beds between the sheets, (even took a picture of it too). Needless to say we went and bought our own sheets, pillows and blankets. Was only left about a quarter roll of toilet paper, stopped at the office to get more, was given a roll with even less than that and was told someone would bring more by, (no one ever did). The mattress was crazy aweful, holy bedsprings coming through, so very uncomfortable. Didn't have a light bulb in a lamp, the small fan was so full of dust that came blowing out. No night stands. It looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling, the floor in the bathroom was nice ( that was the nicest thing in the cabin and the kitchen table). Having a sponge to clean the dishes which has been previously used as it was dirty, that is one of the worst things you could use, tons of bacteria! Needs better lighting, the outside grill was so dirty. We did not feel comfortable using any utensils or items that where there.
Nothing really seemed to be cleaned. However, what was nice was the swing down by the water and taking a hot shower. I guess this just wasn't what I was use too . Spend some time and update the cabins like the main building. Actually, we really thought about just leaving.. Definitely NOT worth the $100 a night. Very disappointed.....

The owners are very friendly and accommodating! There is a beautiful view from the lake! The campsites have plenty of room, and have picnic tables and fire rings. The food was very good! Family friendly!

We visited with our RV towing and were able to park with a lake view. The sunset was beautiful and the park was nice and peaceful. The owner and family were accommodating and helpful. We visited Copper Falls State park and were very pleased with this trip through Wisconsin. The restaurant appeared immaculate although we didn't get a chance to eat there.

We really enjoyed our stay at Northern Lure. We where greeted by the owners that showed us to our camp site and help us back in. They deliver our fire wood with out us asking. The camp sites are really big and have plenty of room for bigger campers. Also there is a really nice open area for playing or just to let kids run free. We tried there pizza and it was really good and had a nice amount of toppings. Bar are is open and very clean. This campground is just a little ways off the highway but we'll worth the short drive. Very quiet area because it is on a dead end road. This camp ground is only 15 minutes from Copper Falls. We will be going back for sure.

Wonderful, old fashioned Northwoods camping and RV resort! 80 year old property with new owners as of 7/17; great young couple who live on the property are updating all of the facilities. Bar/grill was the first to be renovated and it is beautiful. Handmade pizza is delicious! Property has a great view of beautiful Gordon Lake with swimming and boating available. Small cabins available for rent as well. Proximity to biking routes and ATV trails is a definite plus. Open in fall for deer hunters and winter for snowmobilers. ||Definitely worth a visit!

Quiet location, easy to drive to but off the beaten path. Friendly positive new owners. Great food and drinks. Nice shallow beach. Lake great for early morning fishing and tube or water ski the afternoon. You can kayake down the river a ways too. Looking forward to my next stay.

What a joke! We were told we had full hookup wasn't anything available. No one there to answer questions or help. Owner very misleading and not willing to work with you to solve the problem.

home made pizza here! just do it. it's thick and delicious with whatever toppings you want, none of that frozen junk here. I love this place and we stop here every year on snowmobile trip. apparently the lake behind the bar has some nice muskie in it, but i'm no good at catching those so i'll just come by on snowmobile trip for some beers. real friendly staff and i love the atmosphere of this place. look up at the rafters while you're sitting at the bar for a special treat :)
Going back for sure.
