During our visit, the restaurant was hosting an Oktoberfest celebration, featuring live music and a selection of German cuisine and beverages.
We selected the Prime Rib and Filet Mignon, and were thoroughly impressed with both entrees. The accompanying sides, including fresh scallops, asparagus with a strawberry reduction, and roasted Brussel sprouts, were equally exceptional.

The food was amazing! I had the Plantation Filet Mignon. Ordered it Medium and it was cooked to perfection, so tender! The Brussel sprouts were delicious as were the mushrooms. The portions are generous!
My husband had the Bourbon Glazed Salmon, Sister and Brother had New York Strip Steak and they also raved about how delicious it was.
We had Apple Crisp it was served warm and came in a huge bowl with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant!

Had a wonderful dining experience a few weeks ago on a very busy Friday night. Our server, Jodie I think, was absolutely slammed so service was slow at the start. She apologized for the delay which we appreciated. I had a brandy old fashioned with blood orange syrup that was delicious. I had the pan fried halibut. So fresh and perfectly prepared. My husband and daughter both had NY strips. They agreed that the perfectly done steaks were the best they have had in years. Quality of the meat and perfect cook. He complemented the hostess on whoever had prepared the steaks. She laughed and said her husband was manning the grill that night. It was a wonderful meal and a great way to end our week in Minocqua.

The three of us stopped last Wednesday about 4:15 and was seated immediately. We all ordered a cocktail and the small beef fillet ( cooked medium ) for dinner.
There was a lengthy wait for dinner, we'll after salads. The steaks were tender but not medium. All three steaks had no pink. The Cheesy Potatoes were room temp at best. Prices were about what I expected but service and quality were lacking.

However, when the first thing the hostess tells my party of 6 is we were late (we arrived at exactly 4:30, and she said our reservation was 4:15 which was wrong) and went on to say we had to be done by 6:15 for a 6:30 reservation she had for our table. That was very rude and unprofessional, I doubt i will return because of it. Quite frankly, if I want to sit there with my family and some after dinner drinks (which we were never offered) for a meal that came in a little under $500, I shouldnt feel like im being rushed out. Waited 45 minutes beyond our reservation time after being told that we should be seated soon after we checked in 15 minutes before our reservation time. I finally got to experience this restaurant for my birthday this year and find out for myself all the great things I heard about! I had the “Fin & Filet” menu item, an amazing Mignon with shrimp and scallops! 🍤My husband loves to get his ribeye blackened with seasoning, and it was one of the best he’s had in an extremely long time! My daughter ordered the Lobster Mac and cheese 🧀 🦞 it had quite a generous portion of lobster. The staff was extremely friendly, even while very busy!! I reviewed the menu before coming and saw that it was $22-25 for a sandwich or salad. But I also saw it is locally sourced food so expected a premium product for our anniversary dinner. This was not the case. It was great that they had vegetarian choices. There was a long wait for indoor dining so we went to the patio. This was a different menu, not a elevated but just as expensive. We watched two tables arrive, order, eat and leave before getting our appetizer. No one checked on our drinks during this hour and we fetched them ourselves. I finally waited for our server by the kitchen gate and inquired. We received our appetizer and food nearly simultaneously about 10 minutes later. The $25 fish fry was good but was served on a paper tray with one piece of fish with chips, not fries. At $25 on the patio, with swarms of yelling kids and self- service drinks, this price was $10 too high. Casual dining with poor service just not justify these premium dining prices.

We gave this place 2 chances. Same experience. It took 60+ minutes from when we ordered before our food arrived. And even then, the meat was obscenely undercooked. Again, this was our second visit and held off on leaving this review to see if it was a fluke. It was not. The food is delicious once it finally arrives and is cooked properly. We had a party of 12 on a Friday evening, and food and service was all excellent! When we made reservations, we asked about being able to get some meals with dietary restrictions, and they were all helpful in getting everyone a great meal with excellent service. They have excellent craft cocktails, and all other items we’ve had on the menu have been excellent! They have a very extensive menu, with everything from steak, seafood, salads, and some tasty signature homemade dishes. Great place to get an elevated meal.I have had the Coquilles St. Jaques multiple times and love it so much here. The wait staff is attentive, the options for appetizers and entrees are considerable Drinks good too! My only regret is I never have room to try one of their desserts! First time at the Northfork; showing off the Wisconsin Northwoods to a friend from Wyoming visiting for the first time. The Northfork delivered on my expectations of a supper club for a cozy, friendly atmosphere right from the moment you walked in. The bar was full, with more people standing around the bar area; the air was filled with laughter and cordial ruckus. We had a reservation so we were seated right away, even though at that time the dining area was mostly empty. By the time we left, the dining room was packed, so I am glad we called ahead. The cheese curds appetizer delivered on the best of fried Wisconsin cheese. My friend's steak was perfect! The cocktails were fun and very "Wisconsin." Went here for my anniversary dinner, first steak came out well well done, it was well cooked not even a line of pink, when I asked for medium rare. My husband was half way through his meal before the waitress came back over, and at first told me I ordered it medium well, I said no I didn't she pulled it back up and Oops I was right....she stumbled on her words for a moment and then said she would take it back to the kitchen. Apparently the kitchen staff agreed it was well done, she took my entire plate away, When my steak came back out it was cooked medium Rare and was delicious the 3 bites I took before asking for a box to go as my husband was finished. The icing on my anniversary dinner was taking my meal home to reheat to avoid the awkwardness of eating alone. Paying full price for our meal, and leaving this review. This isn't a place that takes kindly to sending your food back. Even if it was there mistake. Thanks for making it a memorable experience.

The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars for service is because of Northfork's policy about "no separate checks". We were a large group of 13, two families of four, two families of two and one single person. We were told that we had to divide the check "equally" among all credit cards; which of course caused some friction within our group.

Apparently Northfork would have preferred if we took up 5 different tables; versus allowing a split of our food/drink items. Because of this, unless it's just the two of us, versus the larger groups that we frequent Minocqua with, which provides significant income to the area, we won't be patronizing this establishment; which is a shame because the food was very good.

We dined both outdoor and indoor (at the bar, with full menu).
Our absolute favorite dish is the prime rib: tender, cooked to perfection, flavorful.
Extensive drink menu. Our go to are old fashioned and there are so many options to choose from. Blood orange and blackberry were our top choices.
Incredible offering of desserts. We had the grasshopper and coconut cake. Delicious!
The service was excellent, from the phone conversation about a reservation (none available when I called, but options were mentioned) to the bartenders. Quick, friendly, accommodating.
The place was packed on Saturday evening, so it was pretty loud, but to be expected.

Finest steaks we've had in the best of the Northwoods supper clubs by a large margin.
(The best steaks overall are the prime beef we cook at home from Lake Tomahawk Meat market. I should mention here NF&F get there PRIME meat there also.)
Our hostess and server were cheerful and professional.
The Old Fashioneds were muddled and excellent.
The only things that could have improved were that the haystack onions were tasty but quite greasy, and the cheesy potatoes, while being a pleasant option, considering the quality of the beef, could be upgraded to an Au Graten.
And the check made me smile.

Second time here. First time was 2 years ago and we waited nearly 1.5 hours for food. Decided to try again and woman who answered phone was rude. We are and were seated at the bar. Took 20 minutes to get a someone to take our drink order. Another 30 minutes and still no-one to take our food order. I asked the rude hostess to have us seated at one of the three open 2 seat tables (which were open since we got there) and I was told they weren't available. We can get better service anywhere else. We(6) stopped in for a Friday fish fry. Inside was booked so we decided to eat outside. Had to order drinks and food at a counter, and there was no wait staff for the outside seating area. The fish fry was $24 and it was served on a metal tray with a bag of ruffles chips. We ate with plastic forks and knives out of a bag. I don't have a problem with any of this, but for $24 a plate, I would expect a bit more. The food took about an hour to come out, but I get it was busy. The food tasted good, and eating inside would probably prompt a better review, but still not sure I would bother to visit again for the price point and the presentation.

Wow, just wow! Best fish fry I've ever had...and I have had a lot of them being born and raised in WI. Would give more than 5 stars if I could for service and food along with the outstanding atmosphere makes this a true up north winner. Outside area is awesome! Includes a fire pit with great seating, ping pong tables, corn hole, giant Jenga, Beer Pong, and even frisbee golf, Can't get any better than that in WI. The inside area is equally nice on inclement weather days. Will definitely be back! BTW bar staff was exceptional!

We finally made it for dinner, and it was truely a joy to eat here...we went for my sisters birthday 🎂 and everyone enjoyed the food...took awhile to be seated even though we had 6 pm reservations...but the place is very popular, and now I can see why...it's changed a lot since the old Plantation days for the better

We will be back. The options and ambiance were on point. Everyone got what they wanted. If you're drinking the sour cherry mule, strawberry champagne, or only of the plays on an old fashioned were winners. The gluten free options were plentiful and the French shrimp dish was perfect. The special was a prime rib like I've never had before it was Smokey and absolutely flavorful. Delicious!

Wonderful surprise! We were a group of 16 total(3 families). The patio was perfect for entering the kids while we waited for food. There was live music and drinks and extended menu out there. The haddock is a MUST! Best I have ever had, fresh, real absolutely amazing! We also had the duck wontons, perch, ribs and kids mac. All 5 star! Ribs tasted like burnt ends. Cocktails were original, fresh and unique. Our go to is the makers old fashion sour when we go out to restaurants, home run here, true muddled and flavor. We picked this place last minute and were so glad we ended up there! We were greeted by pleasant hostesses who directed us to the patio and the bartender brothers and sweet bus girl just made our night! Great job staff! You worked tails off and we appreciated your kindness for our families!

Excellent setting outdoors, tons of things to do for kids and adults. Ping pong, corn hole, etc. Plenty of seating, live entertainment. Wait staff was very friendly. Could use a bathroom outside, maybe a portable or something.

I made a reservation the day before, but when we arrived, they had no record of it. The only tables they offered us were small pub tables, with locations near the busy, noisy areas. We chose one near a window by the bar, hoping it would be quiet, but it quickly got noisy from the bar clients and the piped-in country music. People bumping into you, talking loudly, etc. Not a good experience. The noise level was deafening, to the point that we couldn’t carry on a conversation. My girlfriend and I shared an appetizer and an entree. The appetizer came with 2 small plates, which we expected. When the entree came, the server brought one extra small plate ( more like a saucer), which they charged an extra $5 for. The food was very good, but the overall experience was dreadful. We could not wait to get out of there.

BTW: yesterday we ate at a very nice restaurant in Rochester, MN. We shared an entree and they actually split the meal into 2 full sized plates. For ZERO additional cost.

Had a reservation for 7:00 and was seated right away, finally got our food at approx.8:40! My husband’s ribs were good, our guests’ fried shrimp was good but my rib eye steak was awful! It had so much gristle I could hardly chew it! It had good flavor but wasn’t medium rare. After politely complaining my dinner was comped! Our service was very good and the cocktails were generous, however I have never waited 1-1/2 hours for a meal!

While there are numerous super clubs in the area and they all serve a really good filet, Northfork's filet stands at the top. Perfectly charred and seasoned, every last bite of the beef was packed with incredible flavor. My medium order was actually slightly overcooked and was medium-well, but it did not matter. It was juicy and tender (of course) and as flavorful a filet as I've ever had. Don't concern yourself with the fact that their 6 oz portion is priced the same as other restaurants' 8 oz portions, this is a case of quality over quantity. My wife ordered the Plantation filet which had the haystack onions included. Wow - nailed it! These were not the typical breaded and deep fried variety. These were fresh, sweet, with a dusting (NOT breaded), and piled HIGH. (See the photo.) Next time I want to try the porterhouse, and maybe include the grilled shrimp and grilled scallops add-ons (I saw a plate go by and they looked tremendous).

We were there on Memorial Day weekend. Our server was wonderful. The coctails were masterfully made. Great recommendations for dinner selections. The food, outstanding! The kitchen was S L O W. Not sure if it is always that way as this was our first time there. We will definitely add Northfork Fin & Filet to the repeat list. Will just add extra time. Although we were on vacation so what else did we have to do?

Sincerely THE BEST prime rib I have ever had! Done to perfection! Perfect brocolini! Lovely side salad. Masterful cocktails and THE BEST DESSERTS (and the BIGGEST dessert portions) I have ever been offered anywhere. We will be back SOON! What a great total experience! We had family in town (group of 8) and wanted to go somewhere special & after hearing about this place- we wanted to try it. Our drinks were Good- lots of different choices. Our Food- was OK- we all were really disappointed because we wanted Prime Rib & it was out.
Steaks were ok- on the tough side- and no flavor- for the price we expected much better.
Everyone else said their food was good- but nothing worth raving about. We all agreed- that the prices were pretty high for what you got & the quality. Service- very slow (took 45 minutes to get our food), our waitress was not friendly or attentive. No bread/rolls- or any “table snacks”-- zip- everything is “extra”. Pretty much ruins the experience.
We may go back- just to give it another try - but it’s not our Fav Northwoods Place.

First time going, lived up here for 10 plus years, amazing meal and drinks.
The NY strip was amazing and cooked just the way I like it.
My date had Moroccan noodle chicken dish, to which she also enjoyed alot.
130 dollar bill for 2 people, I didn't realize a burnt sugar old fashioned sour with crown apple 12 a piece I had 2 and she had one old fashion that was 7 dollars, not complaining, i just know we normally pay 75 to 100 but have more then 3 drinks in total, after eatting like every where in the u.p. north woods, this is the most priced up place around

Ashley, our server was top notch! Our party of 4 all had steaks and every one came out perfect and delicious. The enormous soft pretzel, with 3 dippers, was an experience onto itself. Highly recommend. And, though we took them to go, the desserts were absolutely amazing the next day. (Not another bite would fit that night). Especially my coconut cake with roasted pineapple ice cream.

"Pair" with side means pay for side. Some entrees include a side but many do not. Not until I received the bill did I realize that two meals had a $3 dollar upcharge and one meal was up charged $7 for a side. The broccolini was certainly not worth it. Entrees were fantastic (haddock, salmon). The desserts were not worth the $13. Put the price of dessert on the cheesy menu, please.
Will go back but will pay closer attention to details.

Saturday the 16th was the first time ever going to this restaurant. We went for my birthday. We got there early so we sat at the beautiful bar. Now that was a great experience. We were seated at our table at 5:30 which was our reservation time, our server was very friendly. Our problems started after we ordered our food which we waited 45 minutes for. They were very busy, but this was crazy waiting this long, on top of that our steaks and potatoes were served ICE COLD!! Seriously we couldn't even eat them, my fiancee ate his scallops luke warm YUCK! But for the first time ever he took one bite of his prime rib & wouldn't eat it it was so cold, I had an ice cold tenderloin that I couldn't eat either! If we had sent them back they would have been over cooked, if we opted for fresh made new ones we would have had to wait who knows how long for them. So we opted to not eat our meals at all & leave. With this kind of experience I'm not sure I would go back again or recommend this restaurant...So very disappointed, especially since our bill was over $130...
