We went on Friday night and it was moderately busy. Most of our food was good. The tater tots were overcooked. We ordered regular cheese curds but were brought jalapeño cheese curds. Getting our food took an hour, then when our order was incorrect, we were told the cook said he wasn't going to correct it because he had too many orders. So, that was unfortunate. This was our first time here. The atmosphere was great, but I think the staff was overloaded which greatly affected the customer experience. The waitress was running around like crazy and bar tending. No time to even refill drinks. Its in a great location and the place was very clean.

Great destination spot for lunch on a ride into the Driftless Area.
I tried the Philly Cheese, wasn't bad, but not the real thin sliced steak that seems to be hard to find here in Wisconsin.
Fries had a light, crunchy taste, Jalapeño deep fried curds were excellent, the Mushroom Swiss burger went over well, as did the Pulled Pork.
I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu, lots of them looked tasty!

Cute little spot, classic Wisconsin bar and grill. The cod basket is their signature dish, beer battered to perfection. The wings, however, left a little to be desired; they were only tossed in a light spritz of BBQ sauce. Still good though. Clean bathrooms, service prompt, go feed the trout in the pond some kibble for ¢25.

Came here on a Sunday early afternoon for lunch. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich made from prime rib. It was exceptional! This sandwich far exceeded my expectations. The quality and quantity was outstanding.
Apparently Saturday night is the Prime Rib special and although I've not tried it, if this sandwich is any indication of the quality, I'll be back.
I've been coming here for years; it's a wonderful bar/restaurant out in the sticks with an incredible view and atmosphere. The outside deck is a great place to gather with friends over a beer or old fashioned.
The service is fast, friendly and efficient. My order was taken quickly and when the food came out it was piping hot.
Good selection of beers included several quality non-alcoholic beers.
I've had the pizza in the past and it's delicious.
If you haven't come here to eat, you need to check this place out; you won't be disappointed.
I highly recommend Norwegian Hollow Hideaway for food and/or drinks. It's a great ride in the UTV.

My first Wisconsin fish fry, pretty good!
There was a wait for our food but it was a very busy night. We had time to enjoy some drinks and the atmosphere of this lively bar.
The staff were very attentive and friendly, checking on us, making sure we were comfortable by adjusting the fans.
It would be helpful to have the fish fry specials menu either more visible or mentioned to us when taking the order (would have been good to know perch was on the menu) but I did not regret getting the walleye which was very tasty. I noticed the hand written specials menu when getting up to take a look at the bar.
A nice place for a tasty meal and refreshing beers. Would come back for more next time we're in the area.

What Happened to the Norwegian Hollow Hideaway?

This was our first experience here since the new owner took over. In two words REALLY BAD. The serving staff was running around like crazy but couldn't get our fish fry order straight. Twice they brought out the wrong food and when we reiterated our orders (fish fry people, not that hard) the french frys came out cold and two of our dinners were missing the coleslaw. It took at least an hour to get our food and it was unexceptional at best.

Nothing like it used to be under the former owner. I understand it has been a few months since the restaurant changed hands and it's obveous their competent, valued staff left.

Normally I would give a place another chance after a bad experience, however this was so bad that I'm not inclined to return.

The food here is top notch and worth the wait when busy. We had fish two times there and will be back again for the broiled, even though the battered was excellent as well!! The owner has a perfected spin on the ingredients added to make it the BEST I’ve ever had! The atmosphere outside has absolutely beautiful scenery with newly added features including decking, beautiful flowers, and nice tables! Had the chicken bacon swiss sandwich - loved the brioche bun and available extras. Server was friendly and prompt - ordered as takeout. Had one of Dee's loaded Bloody Mary's while I waited - delish! They do breakfast every other Sunday, tried for the first time today (April 6th if you’re trying to do the math for breakfast dates). The bartender Dee made the best Bloody Mary I’ve had around here and she always gives great service. It had a ham Rollup with pepperoni. Breakfast is your typical small town breakfast, but good. Sausage was great. Would love to see them do a skillet or eggs Benedict in the future. I’m not sure if the menu changes each time. Also had dinner recently, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was great.

Don't let the reviews fool ya, local for 12 plus years. Most of the new reviews are the new owners family & friends. This was our home away from home...loved this place! Loved the atmosphere & people..it's all changed and down hill. All the delicious looking food looks good, but good luck getting it. Kitchen, i guess closes before 7pm & if not doesn't have food to make. Owner takes random brakes..leaving customers w out any service. Our lil gem of a country bar/food is no longer. Very Sad! I had the 12 Oz prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes. The prime rib was done to perfection and seasoned just right. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious!!!
It was loud but it's a bar. My only issue was the service. They could have been having a bad night. All in all we'll go back and would suggest it to anyone.

Neat country local bar. I rate the Fish Fry 5 star, was excellent. Fish dinner came with choice of 2 sides with a roll. Salad, macaroni salad, baked potato, fries, coleslaw. Daughter and I shared so she got Mac salad which came in a plastic to go-she said it was really good!
Super busy for Friday Fish and fun atmosphere. We had to wait an hour 1/2 for our fish but the wait was worth it. Our waitress was working hard and all were friendly and doing a good job. I had a beer and daughter root beer, then had another beer since food wasn’t there hehe-we sat outside in the deck, near end mosquitos came for their meal but was really a nice place to enjoy the meal and the valley.
Highly recommend for the Fish Fry.

This burger looks good, but it was impossible to eat in one piece and dry as all get-out. My partner had an equally dry and boring salmon burger (it literally came with just a bun and mayo), but the 🥨 Bites were good!

We love going to the Hollow for Friday night Fish Fry! It’s our absolute favorite place on Friday nights. Drinks are great by Lyle, Matt does an excellent job at the fried and broiled fish dinners and the service is excellent! Everyone works together as a team for timely and outstanding customer service! Took awhile for our burgers to show up, but not ridiculously long. We worried that since the sign said kitchen closed at 9 that the cook had left without taking our order.
