We held a private dinner with Off The Chain and it was just that! [wildly exciting]

We are glowing from our summer retreat experience in Eagle River and the relationships made along rhe way. Our attendees were cordially welcomed, and offered specialty menu items. The spread featured mini sliders like Nashvillle chicken, and caprese salad bites. The lobster arancini are our director's favorite!

The restaurant has a pretty extensive bar program, much variety in the libations department, plus specialty cocktails, themed to the region. Think aviation, local mule, and desserty twists on martinis. You had us at snickers bar 🍸.

We are delighted to make memories with our new favorite Northwoods establishment. Our group is very appreciative for your hospitality. This special story and teamwork is what community is all about, and that we support wholeheartedly!

We enjoy this place- the food, friends, and fellowship happening at Off The Chain. Highly recommended!

We especially enjoy the black and blue salad, fish and chips, and Nashville chicken sliders. Oh, and you must try the boozy ice cream drinks!

This was our first visit to your restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food. We had prime rib which was tasteless. The aujous was more like coagulated
beef gravy. The creamy french onion soup was just that. A bowl of mushy creamy onions. The men's bathroom was filthy. Toilet paper and flies on the floor. A random sock on top of the toilet. Both my husband and brother were disgusted by it. For the cost of our meal, this was a big let down.

We came as a party of 4 during Cranberry fest, we were aware it may be busy. However, much to are surprise, it was not. We decided to have a drink at the bar and asked for a menu. Nowhere on the menu did we see fish. A patron next to us said that they serve Cod. My partner then asked the bartender if they serve fish. To which he replied yes, Cod. My partner asked if they had perch or bluegills. The bartender rudely replied “ No. this isn’t a garbage kitchen!” I almost fell off my stool! Perch, Bluegill garbage?! The service was horrible! Very unprofessional and unorganized. The food (small amount) was ok. We all came home and ate afterwards. Another party sitting by us in the dinning area, got up and left! Their food just sitting there and said they were so disgusted with the service and food that they couldn’t take another minute or mouthful. This was the worst experience I have ever experienced dinning out. This is also the very first bad review I’ve ever written. Oh, did I mention how overpriced it was?! Don’t waste your time

What a crazy experience we had last night! A total disappointment! From the start to finish, it was almost indescribable. Our waitress was a mess, aggressive, loud and wouldn’t stop running around clueless. Our drinks were untimely and food wasn’t even close to menu description. I asked for management and was told nobody was there other than the staff. A Friday with a fest in town is probably worthy of having the manager and or owner on hand. We will never go back!!!

This is by far the best food in the area. Not the standard fried bar food. We dine both at the restaurant and Justin also catered a wedding recently that wowed us all- appetizers and full buffet. Salmon prime rib fresh vegetables risotto and all gluten free. Thank you!

We spent the week up north in Eagle River and happened upon this delightful restaurant. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Our server helped us review Off The Chain's most popular menu items and suggested their specialty house made cocktails.
We met up with a few other couples and had an amazing dinning experience. The owner came by the table as a hospitality check and was very genuine in their gratitude for our patronage.
A friend ordered the black and blue salad, which he very much enjoyed and ordered a sampling of coconut shrimp, walleye, and salmon. All were delicious!
Although we were completely satisfied with our meal, the desserts sounded too good not to try, so we shared a spiked ice cream treat. Make sure to mention this off the menu dessert at Off the Chain. We hope to return on our next visit. Thanks so much for the great meal.

My family of 10 went for dinner on a Monday evening and we enjoyed it so much! The food and the service was top-notch. Colin was our server and he knew what we needed before we asked! We had three older kids with us who enjoyed their elevated kid meals. The seven adults enjoyed the many small plate/shareable offerings and had great main meals. The old fashioneds were also fabulous! We had lobster aronchini, the tuna, filet Oscar, maple glazed pork chops, honey garlic ribs, Nashville hot chicken sliders, truffle parmesan fries and the amazing creamy French onion soup! The salads were also great. All in all, we had a wonderful meal and experience. The location and ambiance of the restaurant itself is not anything special, but the food and the service is. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something a little more special and deliciously executed in the Northwoods! Let’s keep this gem open!

Great service and food on a Friday night! Not too busy. I had the gouda cheeseburger sliders and creamy French onion soup. My wife had the honey garlic ribs. Definitely worth trying if you haven't had it before. Not the ordinary bar food that is so common at other restrooms in the area.

A great disappointment in view of many prior customer reviews. The pleasant waitress took our order within 5 minutes but we did not receive our meal for an hour. “Ticket was lost.” 3 other tables finished while we waited. Upon arrival pork chop was not cooked through, Brussel sprouts were cold and tiger shrimp was over cooked. We received a 50% reduction on our bill since we left half our meal on our plate.

Justin Odell has been a chef by trade his entire life. He has fine tuned his staff and they work extremely well together. Front of house staff is beyond friendly, courteous, kind, and cheerful. There are unique cocktail options, beers, top shelf liquors, and non-alcoholic options. The menu can be pulled up on Facebook. Formerly known as the Czecho Club, then Captain Nemo’s, Then Catch 22 Charhouse (where Justin had worked over four years). This place is beyond worth the stop.

Excellent Northwoods food off Highway 70 East. Sufficient parking outside and is likely reasonable when the snow and ice have gone. Busy bar with a few beers on tap and hustling service fir drinks. We enjoyed Friday fish (highly recommended for the crispy batter) and the shrimp smothered prime rib (nicely cooked and flavorful). As an appetizer, the Nashville hot chicken sliders were terrific. Cooked hot, just the right amount of spice. This was a very good dining experience in Eagle River and a place to which we would return. Recommended.

I came here with my family. It was this evening. We called in to make sure they were open. We sat at the bar and had an amazing bartender and server, Celeste. I am very sure I will misspelled her name. We got the blackberry old fashioned and the Leinenkugel beer. Absolutely delicious old fashioned. We ordered different food, and all was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. We got the ‘Charred Beef Poutine’, ‘Lobster Arancini’, ‘Cilantro Lime Glazed Tuna’, Pork Chop with Squash Purée, and Creamy French Onion soup. Holy moly, the soup was delish! The chef/owner is so sweet and friendly. Adore this place. Call in for a reservation or check if they are open. They are open on Tuesday to Saturday. Not sure about the hours.

Off The Chain has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Eagle River! The Creamy Onion Soup is a must! Prime Rib is fabulous!! You can’t go wrong with the fish fry. Southwest salad is great if you’d prefer something on the lighter side. And the Old Fashions are great too! This is much more than just a “small plates” place. We always look forward to coming back!

My daughter and I had the highest specials, $30 something a plate but you didn't need add ons, we had an appetizer and d alcoholic mixed drinks. We brought back a creme brule' for my wife, she enjoyed it even though it was upside down and kind of all over the bottom of small container but, hey its a custard with one side caramelized. How else would it travel.

Had a great experience at OTC. Finally, someone thinking outside the usual pizza and burgers. I had the Beef Poutine. The steak was med rare as order and great flavor. Onion soup was more of a bisque. Unique, nice twist. Anyway service was pretty good considering she was waiting tables and bartender. The new norm these days but she kept up pretty well. The only thing i would change was our table location. Too close to the loud bar. Round the corner to the left would be a good spot. We will be going back for sure.

The food and drinks definitely live up to the name, as they were absolutely "off the chain!!" My group all shared plates and were blown away with the quality. The flatbread was surprisingly tasty, the jumbo shrimp were huge and delicious and the gouda sliders were bursting with flavor. Loved the blueberry spin on an old fashioned as well.
