I have been to this place many times and while the food is typically good the experience is very hit or miss in terms of quality. Today my sausages were lukewarm while my fries were hot, sometimes it's the opposite, which is disappointng especially since we typically go right when they open when it's not super busy. The biggest issue I experience almost everytime is the disorganised nature of ordering the food and the wait staff bringing it. Items are often forgotten (occasionally an entire entree), but usually not receiving sauces when we ask for them while placing the order. I'm not sure if it's a communication issue with the cooks or what, but it does get irritating when it happens nearly everytime. I do enjoy this place and hope for it's continued success, but these issues need to get ironed out because it happens too frequently.

This place is a restaurant and hospitality disaster. Complete service train wreck. Cannot attend to basic guest needs like greeting guests, explain the process. Getting water and drinks at tables. You put a credit card machine in there face as soon as you walk in the door. A engagement party of 20 was left to chase down there needs.

My suggestion to is just open a farm butcher shop and offer your products on a roadside stand.

You need to hire a restaurant consultant immediately.

This place is an absolute gem! You can feel the passion the moment you walk in. It’s family-owned, warm, and welcoming. The beer selection is top notch, with a great mix of creative seasonal brews and tried-and-true classics. You can tell everything is crafted with care.

But the food… wow. The house-made sausage is easily the best I’ve ever had. Flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. And the pizza? Hands down the best brick oven pizza in the state. The crust is crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy inside, and loaded with fresh toppings.

I came in for supper on Friday, August 8th with my girlfriend and had a wonderful experience at Old Germantown Restaurant. I really liked the convenience of their QR code ordering system; it’s a wonderful modern, European-style approach that ensures your order is accurate, gets processed quickly, and you don’t have to wait for a server to bring the bill. You also don't have to wait at the host station to get seated, which is excellent. I wish more US restaurants would adopt this approach.

We ordered two pizzas, a flight of beers, and a root beer float. Everything came out incredibly fast — the drinks were delivered almost instantly — and you can tell the staff works hard to keep things running smoothly. I especially enjoyed the thinner crust and unique pizza options, as well as the great selection of microbrew beers.

It was also a nice touch that the owner stopped by our table to check in. Overall, it’s a lovely place with a great atmosphere. My only suggestion for improvement would be to pave the parking lot and driveway, as the current unpaved surface gets vehicles dusty and could be rather messy during heavy rain.

Unique setting and cool building. Limited food menu but it is delicious. We each had a wood fired pizza and they were each large enough for two meals. Good deal at around $13 a pie. Have decent local craft beer selection but I can't wait until their brewery is running which hopefully summer of 2021. Outdoor seating too.

Update: Brewery opened in 2022.

2023...We visit about every other month. Delightful experience but know it gets extremely busy and on weekends they may stop taking orders around 6:30 due to volume.

Don’t go to a German sausage restaurant and order pizza. The smell of garlic arrived at our table before the waiter. It was the greasiest pizza we ever had. The outside crust was crisp. The rest was a limp greasy mess. The aluminum pan had a paper liner. It was totally soaked with grease. My wife showed the waiter by tipping the pizza pan over the table and slathering the table with grease. A total mess. I hade a curry wurst. The sausage was great! The curry ketchup was cold. I had sauerkraut on the side it too was chilled. The beer I had was fantastic. I had so high of an expectation maybe that was my problem. I wanted it to be at least OK. It wasn’t. My son was surprised by our comments. He did not experience this disaster. Unfortunately we will have to wait a few years before we gather enough courage to try it again. If you go, enjoy a sausage and beer. Don’t go to the German restaurant and order a pizza!

Sometimes I feel the term "hidden gem" is overused, and becomes cliché over time. However, this is definitely a case to use the term properly! I actually live about 6 minutes away from Old Germantown, but only discovered it a little over a year ago. In that time, myself and several family members/friends have joined me for great food, tasty beers, and fun evenings. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and it is clear the family and owners have a true passion for what they do. And they do it so well - fresh meals that have never disappointed. I've had the sausage sampler platter a few times, and it's been great to try so many of their different offerings. Also have sampled many of their beers, and they always pair well with the meal. For me, the real winner is the wood-fired pizza. NO contest, the best pizza in Washington County! At our most recent visit, we got to chat with the owner for a few minutes, and the pizza chef also came up to personally ask us how we enjoyed everything. Those little touches help to make us feel right at home. Already looking forward to our next visit!

I was in the area and looking for a brewery, what I found was so much more than that! I had an Italian sandwich which was reasonably priced ($12 with fries) and I took half of it home because it was large and amazing! The beer was also pretty great. Found this place in the middle nowhere while looking for a place to eat. If you find yourself by a signless driveway with a barn at the end your probably there. When we walk in it was packed. Amazing spot! We arrived and were greeted by a very kind man who explained that they were busy and a bit short staffed, apologized in advance for the wait and explained how everything worked. There was a sign out front noting the 2 hour wait time, so they are very transparent. We got our pizza order in quickly, then relaxed and enjoyed some pretzel bites, a bottle of wine and some cribbage. When the pizza came out, it was worth the wait. We can't believe we've just discovered this place, it's amazing. You would never know where it was unless you were looking for it, so it felt like a special secret. Inside is nice and open, and it's fairly large. Wonderful outdoor seating area for the nicer weather, and there's a sand pit with trucks for kids to play in. You can order at the counter, or by scanning the QR code at your table, which we did and it was so much easier. Tons of gluten free choices, including gluten free pizza. Our kids got a cheese pizza, and we got the pimento cheese dip appetizer (which already came with gluten free crackers), a gluten free pizza, and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was fantastic. We're already planning on going back before it gets too cold so we can sit outside next time.

“Pretzel Bites”, were really good. Only downside was that there wasn’t enough of the beer cheese sauce. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

We have been to the restaurant twice in the last week and the bottom of the crust was soggy, underbaked. It did not hold up when you held it resulting in having to fold it which is not what I like. The bottom should be crispy. Ended up having to take the rest home and heated up in a frying pan to get that crispy bottom. The ingredients that they use are very good and hope that they can perfect the pizza dough. While we were there this past Sunday we even mentioned this issue to the person who took order, telling us she would inform the cooking staff to cook thoroughly the crust. But I guess the message didn't get to the person who does the cooking.

When you walk up to the building they have a sign out front that says how long until the pizzas, they do have long wait times- but be patient if you can. They had a 45min time when we got there but it took about an hour and a half for the pizzas, the appetizers came quickly though!

I'm not really sure how to label the place, really, but go there for excellent craft beer and great accompanying food like sausage and wood fired pizza. The employees were all very friendly and the service was top notch. I'm happy Germantown has something like this. What a gem!

Beer selection good and our pizza was great but wish we would have been warned that you should only eat outside if you like watching kids run all over the place. We never got plates napkins or silverware . Found those items myself. Next time we’ll eat inside.

Had a wonderful experience here for my brother's birthday. The sausages were all delicious and flavorful in their own way while the pizzas were very unique flavors. I also really enjoyed the two beers that I had. I hope to go back sometime in the future!

God this was good. We were a little scared driving up at night - better signage that makes you feel less like you're going to walk into someone's house and or get murdered would be nice - but totally worth it. Great pizza (love the mushroomy forager), incredible desserts.

UPDATE: Be prepared for a wait if you're getting pizza on a weekend - get a sausage sampler and one of their board games and know that it will be absolutely worth it. Even the fries are great.

Super happy to have returned to Old Germantown restaurant for the third time and first time inside the restaurant. Farm Fresh means extra work, planning and focus on ingredients. Forget instant gratification found in drive through's and fast food mass production-delivery. This is a family run throw back offering awesome craft beers made onsite and many creative personal pizza's. Just like the thousands of small craft breweries throughout the west, sometimes ale/beer types run out, you get to venture to other tastes! If you want some lager canned weeks ago designed for college kids on spring break, this is not a place for you. If you are in a hurry and long ago forgot what restaurant atmosphere is, this is not a place for you. If you need a large backlit sign to find the driveway (like main street America looks today), this is not a place for you. Here is a challenge, find the restaurant without your GPS!
Last night we tried the "Milwaukee" pizza and if you grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin you know what a "Milwaukee" pizza should taste and look like. They nailed it and I get the left overs today! Regarding the Ale; I was a taste tester for a global Milwaukee beer company, have traveled the Western hemisphere trying ales and beers all over. The ales here are excellent.
If you get an opportunity I highly recommend Old Germantown, enjoy!

I was wonderfully surprised by this place!

At first I was a little bit sceptical of the directions because of it being surrounded by farm fields.

Once we got inside, I got that real cozy, comfy feeling. All the staff were SUPER nice and friendly. They made sure that my husband and I were enjoying our delicious food several times and we felt very at home. It was a wonderful way to spend our Saturday night and will definitely be returning to this cozy little restaurant.

This is a gem located in the countryside! The people are super nice! We went for lunch on a Friday, and it wasn't crowded. Evenings are very busy, but worth the wait. Friends had individual pizzas which came to the table quickly and hot! I enjoyed the homemade Sicilian sausage "brat" and I will definitely suggest you try it! Lots of craft beers and good wine selection.
Note: the owners told us the new barn that houses the restaurant and all the furniture were crafted by the Amish.

5/5 excellent family friendly restaurant also family own. I cannot believe I've been leaving in the area for so long, and it was just now that I discovered this place. Very clean place, bathrooms (at least women one) has a changing table which I appreciate. The wooden ceiling gives a cabin atmosphere very relaxing during this time of the year. Food wow....if you are a sausage lover definitely stop by. All or I should say the majority of they beer are homebrew and the amber ones are delicious (they could be a bit cooler). Their pizza...mmmmmm .... delicious, great balanced flavors, the dough was great. We had a mexican one and a mixed sausage along with amber beer. They also sell sausage and sauce. Definitely stop by

One of my favorite stops of all time. Varied rotating draft lineup always filled with solid beers.

The pizza is in my personal top five. Sourdough crust is flavorful and unique. My go to is the smoky chicken sausage pizza, it's so balanced with the smoky cheese, bechamel for richness and, perfect chicken sausage

While it can get busy, we've always had great service and the place is really set up perfectly for large groups.

The setting is charming and the staff is very attentive. However, too bad the quaint area inside the remaining barn foundation isn't attended to -- it feels neglected. We were there a week ago on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was buzzing and a fun music group enlivened the outdoor area. The pizza was a massive disappointment. It seemed to be premade and likely undercooked because we felt sick afterward. We were also there recently for a retirement party and the pizza was bad then too. If the food someday matches the atmosphere it'll be a great place. Until then, just go for the beer and music

What a great little hidden gem. I must have driven by this establishment 1000 times without knowing it was here. What a mistake on my behalf. The food and the service are all top notch. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! This quaint little farm in the middle of rural Wisconsin converted into a restaurant serving some of the best pizza. We also had an apple vinaigrette salad that was fresh and tasty. Oh, don’t forget to order their home brewed Old Germantown lager. It was also simply great!! Great food, great service, kind people. Very cool restaurant! It is on an old farm with the restaurant built to reflect its surroundings. There is lots of outdoor seating available with a nice play area for the children. It is a simple menu, either sausages or pizza. The pizza was sold out, but the sausages were delicious, with lots of choices
