First time at this location
Ordered at 11 am waiting patiently until 1125 to ask about my two coffees and precooked croissant.
They forgot about my order, glad I asked something other wise would’ve been sitting here with my number waiting awhile longer.
Little sympathy after asking but pretty quick 7minutes after asking about my order I had it.
If you have 30 plus minutes to get coffee and precooked food give this place a shot!

I recently moved to Cottage Grove and this is such a hidden gem! I've visited twice and (with others in my group) tried the two breakfast sandwiches, both are stellar. The bacon was nice and crispy. They had a carnitas skillet special on my last visit and that was also excellent. My daughter's berry pancakes were the best I've tasted at a restaurant in a long time - just the right amount of vanilla, slightly sugary, and the berries were perfectly ripe and sweet. Coffee and smoothies are good, too. Outdoor seating is very pretty. Don't sleep on this place if you're in the area, or make a special trip and then hike the Glacial Drumlin trail (right behind the parking lot)!

Literally the best lunch I’ve had in a long time.. fried potatoes were cooked to perfection, chicken bacon sandwich was dripping with hot cheddar cheese, bread was fresh and perfectly toasted. Bacon crispy and a lot of it! Highly recommend

Smaller servings and high prices for breakfast. The food is good but not great. Approaching the countertop to place your order is confusing as the line is not clearly marked. The options for tipping after ordering at the counter and finding your own table are 18%, 22%, 25%. This is a little insulting when the food comes out on the cold side with no check back to see if you're satisfied. The dining area has poor acoustics so it's loud and echoey. Some competition in town might bring ODCH up to par but until then you probably want to look elsewhere for breakfast.

Stopped in for a late breakfast with a coworker. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with two eggs over easy and a cup of coffee. The food was just OK. The eggs were over cooked and the biscuits and gravy was not very hot. Also, the coffee was not up to par. The staff by the way I took the order were great. Very friendly and helpful. Too bad the kitchen staff dropped the ball. This was the second time visit. Restaurant and bathrooms are clean but don’t think I’ll be back.

Step back in with a coworker for another wonderful food experience. Coffee never stops. Just have to walk up and fill your cup. Had the Denver omelette with sourdough and potatoes. Very good. I believe you get a good portion for your money.

Hired my 17 year old daughter for her first job. Had her come in twice at 6:30 am for a total of 15 hours. Then when my daughter called to see the hours on the next weekend they told her that they were hiring someone else that's more experienced. Was my daughter's first job that she was looking forward and enjoying. Was fired for someone else. Why would you even hire someone just to fire them. I'm so mad right now that my wife is pleading for me not to go in there and give them a peice of my mind. I grew up in cottage Grove and definitely against garbage like these people. Used to be amazing. Don't know what's happened in the last couple years. Food is tasty, but of the 10 or so times I've ordered here over the last year or two, maybe twice the food I received was made how the menu said. Codd salad missing blue cheese and bacon. Skillets missing key ingredients listed on menu. Soup ordered was not what was on daily board. Whatever you get will taste good, but it probably won't have what you wanted. I was a regular going about twice a month. The food is decent and the staff was nice. During my last visit I wasn’t offered all the sides. I ordered an omelette since I didn’t want carbs. The sides were potatoes, fruit, or soup. Substitutions had an up charge. Since all three side options have carbs, I declined all choices.

When my meal arrived, my friend had a salad. I asked if that could’ve been an option. The waitress said yes, but since she hadn’t taken my order, she shrugged and walked away.

When I eventually spoke with a manager, she said they’d retrain the staff to offer salads but she couldn’t see or understand anyone wanting salad with an omelette. She repeated this to me several times.

I don’t need to be judged about my food choices. I don’t believe I’ll return. There are other places to eat in town.

Had the special omelet which was salmon with tomato and feta. The salmon part was good. Not much feta and few tomatoes, which were chopped into little chunks, even in my friend’s BLT. The eggs were a bit overcooked so it was dry overall. The sourdough toast was old enough to be croutons, it was so dry. Fruit salad was heavy on green melon, orange melon and a few grapes. Meh.

This was the worst breakfast I've had here, or really anywhere, in a long time. I paid extra for an English muffin that was toasted on one side and raw on the other. I paid extra for fruit that was rotten (watermelon) or hard (both other melon). Only the strawberries and grapes were edible, and the grapes were not sweet. My omelet didn't come with the sour cream and salsa (I had to go to the counter to request it). My Mexican Mocha was sludge. Truly awful.

I paid almost $50 (with the tip) for two meals. You have to tip when you pay, so no one comes to check on you, to see if your meal is ok, or if you need anything.

Almost every empty table was dirty; I watched another customer get a cloth to clean a table for her family. I realize it is hard to get good help, but if someone asks if they can clean a table, you should probably send someone out to see what needs to be done.

Sunday brunch is a treat I look forward to. But not here.

Brunch after bike ride on the Glacial Drumlin trail hit the spot. We were starving and the food did not disappoint. We had a large group--everyone said their brunch was delicious. Went here for breakfast ahead of playoff game near by. Order at 11:15 with the expectations we could get out in 1 hour. At 12:15 we checked on the status of our order and were informed we were #3 in line and would not get our order in time. When I requested a refund I got the following responses in this order 1) we have a sign on the door that says we are short staffed, 2) would you like your food to go, 3) I am not going to give you a refund. I can only hope this employee was an owner, because I would hate to think an employee would be allowed or trained to tell a customer who had waited almost an hour with zero update on the status of their food and that it would be further delayed, but that's ok because we have a sign - I am not going to give you a refund. EXTREMELY POOR customer service. So many better ways to handle this situation. I have sympathy for the staffing situation. I have disgust for the customer service. Clearly, many customers have had a different and more positive experience, To be expected or they would not be in business. All I suggest is to make sure you are ok with this type of experience and resolution being one of the possible options when you choose this restaurant.

This is a coffee shop that doesn't make special lattes, go somewhere for good coffee, they don't make lattes, they take drip coffee and pour creamer, it will be cold too, I was very disappointed, that my second cup was still the same. The food was not tasty, seriously, don't waste your money. My latte looked like dirty water, even people who were seated next to us, agreed that it was a horrible coffee.

Great destination for a bike ride. My wife and I rode on the Glaciel Drumlin bike trail and were happy to find this as our lunch stop. Excellent roast beef sandwich (lots of meat). The servers were great.

Updated: 3 years later, still riding my bicycle and stopped in here during the COVID restrictions and it is still a great place. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. Indoors they have every other table unavailable and the servers are super attentive to cleaning and being clean. Food is still wonderful.
