Not impressed. Hubby ordered ravioli. He only got 4 tiny ravioli and it was covered in a sauce that looked and tasted burnt. I had clam pasta that was watery (swimming in water)spaghetti with cold canned clams dumped on top. We waited 15 minutes and never saw our waiter again. Had to ask the host where he was so we could get our check. Sorry, but we won't be returning.

Ok - This place is a combo of "Dinner Club" and just great food. I had the marinara meat sauce and it was spectacular. The calamari app was also fabulous. I don't know if they let you share, but the portions are significant. Nice people, great service. Can't go wrong here!!

We used to come here when it was gullivers before the owner change, and it was always a safe bet for fish. Not amazing but decent. Now the Friday fish is fantastic. The menu looks revamped and looks great. Our fish was so good and had multiple more options. We will definitely be coming back here more often

I don’t think anything has changed with new ownership.
My husband and I tried it out, ordered the pretzel with beer cheese, he had the walleye bites (with beer so cheese soup with bacon) and I went for chicken fettuccini. The beer cheese dip and soup were rather oily, the fettuccini sauce bland.
Service was slow despite a rather empty place, and the decor (and smell) have not changed.

Would not recommend the antipasto plate, it sounds delicious but when you get thinly sliced deli meats and cheeses it felt like we ordered a subway sandwich with out the bun. Was shocked it did not come with crackers but they were not in the description so I should have expected that. The Potato cheddar soup was not bad tasting, however it really should have been hot and not luke warm. The gorgonzola steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare, however the quality of the meat was subpar as it was tough and gritty kind of like a steak I would expect to get at Kwik trip. The gorgonzola cheese sauce you could tell was made from scratch which was ok, but didn't have much of a gorgonzola taste so maybe they ran out of gorgonzola. I feel like a better cut of steak would have made up for the lack of gorgonzola. My fiance ordered the chicken picatta, which was eh. It's chicken breast so it's dry, nothing there to make it more flavor full. The truffle fries were good, but again they were like warm. The place was not busy at all there were three other tables and two waitresses. We set our empty caraffe of water at the end of the table but apparently that wasn't enough of a sign to our waitress to fill it up even after bringing our food and checking on how things were going. I normally would have asked for more water but at this point I just wanted to get the check and go. I'm not going to comment on the atmosphere bc it didn't change since Gulliver's so you know what you're getting yourself into. Was really looking forward to trying out the place. I will give it another attempt bc maybe it was just a bad day at the restaurant as that happens at times so I always try a new place at least twice before deciding if it's worth it or not. But it definitely needs some attention.

Just visiting from Madison Wisconsin and stopped in at Oliva 's at Gulliver's Landing and ordered the appetizer Classic Meatballs. They reminded me of my Grandmas meatballs from Sicily. They were delicious 😋

Food was decent, chicken picata and pesto chicken. Soup was not bad. Fettuccine sauce was thin and lacked flavor. Order was wrong after waiting almost an hour with only 4 other people in the restaurant. Tables weren't getting bused. Atmosphere is old but not in a good way. 4% for using a card is above average. Welcome was impersonal and felt rushed. Overall just not impressed. There are better places to eat in Wausau.

We had such a relaxing dinner sitting outside! Zachary our waiter was awesome and we didn’t wait long for the food. The pork was so tender, the thick piece of salmon was delicious, and the shells with sausage were perfect!!! To top it off they even had spumone ice cream ( something I haven’t had in soooo long!!). We definitely will be back!!!

The good and the bad….
The good was really good. Pork Marsala and chicken piccata. Both very good. And both came with a salad and a side. And warm bread rolls were served before anything came. Very nice. Portions were more than generous
We were seated outside in the patio immediately. Which was nice.
Our server was very attentive and friendly.
The not so good……
The first impression could be better. It still has the same rotting wood railing around the patio that’s been there forever. A couple treated 2x4’s would solve it Easy The tables are plastic card table type and matching folding chairs. They do the job but they’re unimpressive
And they tried to add a surcharge to a credit card, which is their right, but I offered to pay with a debit card and was told the surcharge applies to all plastic. Which is not true, and is a violation of federal law. They need to stop doing that immediately.

There ceiling was leaking because of the weather which isn't there fault for the weather but not fixing a roof or cleaning after becoming a new place is weird. We had shrimp and it tasted like plastic and burnt and they didn't give us a refund and gave us ice cream to compensate definitely not 27 dollars Worth, there server was verified nice and did a good job but he should probably work elsewhere and not that place like this $169 dollar bill not Worth it. :)

Ordered 2 glasses of House Cabernet, the Pork Marsala and the Creamy Sausage Amogio. The Amogio was very nice, the Pork Marsala sauce was fine - the medallions were tough and required a good deal of work with a knife to cut, the garlic mashed potatoes were nothing special. The real disappointment was the bill, we were charged $30.00 for 2 glasses of house Cab. When I questioned the waitress if this was correct, her reply was simply yes. Nothing here to make us return. Not in the habit of paying $15 a glass for so/so wine.

1st visit with the new ownership. My wife and I ate outdoors and were met with a cheerful Tara (our server) We peeked inside and the nautical theme looks intact which I believe gives it a nice charm as no other restaurant in the area compares. Regarding the food, we were served a good portion of sliced bread with oil and shredded Parmesan cheese. Tasty 😋 I had the chicken pesto while my wife had the baked cod poor man's style. For the side, I had the fettuccine alfredo which was excellent and my wife had the vegetable of the day, brussel sprouts. A side salad came with the meal and they make several dressings themselves. The flavor of the food was great and the portions generous. We both felt that the price was an excellent value. We'll definitely return to try other things on the menu and encourage others to give them a try.

First time I've eaten there since new owners took over. I ordered the Saturday night prime rib queen cut. One of the best pieces of prime rib I've had. It's huge and full of flavor. I also liked the salad with the house vinegarette. Mashed potatoes were also very good. The service was top notch and the owner was attentive and pleasant to talk to. I'll definitely be back.

We’ve been back a few times now since OLIVAS took over Gulliver’s Landing, and honestly, they’re knocking it out of the park. Especially on Friday nights! Their fish fry has quickly become a favorite of ours. Whether it's the pan-fried walleye, beer-battered haddock, or baked fish, every option is delicious, and the portions are more than generous (you won’t leave hungry!).

The sides? Spot on. We've tried both the regular fries and the sweet potato fries... crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside... total perfection. Appetizers are always a fun little bonus, but the real star of the show? The dessert drinks.

You HAVE TO save room for one of their ice cream cocktails. From the classic Grasshopper and Brandy Alexander to their incredible Elvis Presley (seriously, try this one!), it’s the perfect way to end your meal.

Huge kudos to OLIVAS for breathing new life into this spot. Great food, fun vibe, and always a good time. Keep it up!

I was just there for supper. Was hoping it would be as good as Nueskes was. Very disappointed. We got in right away as only a couple tables taken. We ordered a soda and a old fashioned. Soda came out right away but took over 10 minutes for the drink. And it was an old fashioned. Any waitress who is worth anything should have notiy that right away. Then the bread and oil they give you tasted off. But ate it, as it wasn't much
Cheese curds were hard and no taste to them. We made mistake of ordering the baked fish. It was not in butter and had some different seasonings on it. The party I was with wouldn't eat it. So we exchanged plates. It was so dry and hard I couldn't eat it. Hope the animals will tomorrow. Please do not waste your time and money going here.

Ugh I hate leaving 2 star reviews but management needs to make some serious changes here.

Pro: the drinks. The Bloody Mary mix was really good! The only reason why I’m not leaving a lower rating is because of the drinks.
Con: everything else… our lunch today was incredibly disappointing. The “cheese curds” were mozzarella sticks (even served with marinara) The burgers were awful and tasteless, the $3 we paid extra for truffle fries gave us just a few fries with a bit of oil on them. The bacon on my husband’s burger had a strange aftertaste and were burnt to a crisp. Our waitress never refilled our drinks, but instead took multiple smoke breaks right outside the window we were sitting at. She answered the phone while standing at our booth, talking to another employee who wanted coffee brought to him outside. We were the only customers in the building, yet were basically ignored.

Overall, horrible food and horribly unprofessional service. The only good thing about our experience today were the drinks.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at Oliva’s! The salmon was fantastic and their walleye was AMAZING! We had wonderful service at the bar from Jaron and our table service was spot on too! The restaurant was cozy and even with a large corporate event in the back, regular table service was prompt and attentive. Salads and bread were fresh, we left no room for dessert! We will definitely be back!

WORST EXPERIENCE at a restaurant in my LIFE. I’ve traveled the world, ate at thousands of low and high end restaurants. This TOPS the cake. And it’s super unfortunate that it is a local restaurant that I’ve personally loved for years. The only good thing at the restaurant was the heart of our server.

We had a reservation at 6:30pm. Got seated by 6:50pm. Appetizers by 7:30pm. Food order in. Half the table ordered prime rib. 30 minutes later waitress comes out. Only 2 prime rib left. Everyone else substituted for ribeyes. 30 minutes later waitress comes BACK out. NO ribeye left. Switched everyone over to tenderloins or completely different meals that they requested. But stated the original ribeye orders from the first order would be coming out so those people did not reorder. 15-20 minutes later meals started coming out. (8:45pm —-2:25 HOURS past our reservation time mind you) and NO RIBEYES. They automatically replaced ALL original ribeye orders with tenderloin without asking. Anyone who changed meals got COLD pasta, BLACK steaks that were charred on outside, bleeding and cold in the middle. All mashed sides…COLD. Most people didn’t eat their food as it had no flavor and was nearly inedible.

It gets worse. The manager made comments that we were just trying to get out of paying our paycheck. We requested to then speak with chef and owner to SHOW them our table and plates. They REFUSED and instead ARGUED with us for 15 minutes as to why they did nothing wrong. They told us to leave and I reminded them we know a lot of people and it’s really unfortunate to see how we were treated and we will never be back. The owner then stated as we walked out…. “It’s only 20 people, who cares”. And that says enough about their character and care of Gullivers reputation and taking care of their patrons.

Overbooked. Understaffed. Horrible owner etiquette. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! Save your money and go support another local business that actually cares about your experience.

I truly wish I didn’t even have to leave 1 star for this establishment

The service and treatment that we received as a large group was HORRIBLE. I have worked in the service industry for so many years as well as been on the receiving end as a customer with other bad restaurant experiences but this one takes the cake for sure.

We were served 2 hours and 15mins after our reservation time. We got there, we orders a drink whiles we were waiting for our long reservation time and my drink was gross, then when we got to the table 2 of our guests did not have chairs and made it an awkward feeling right away. The servers were frazzled from being so understaffed right from the beginning.

They were out of so many food options. I had to order 3 different times before I was able to get something they had, which with them coming out and telling us they were out of stuff repeatedly kept adding on time to us being able to eat. We were all starving

then when the food came out, they were charred black on the outside and raw as can be on the inside or wrong in general.

The servers were crying on the serving floor which as a business owner you should feel Horrible for putting your waitstaff in such a bad position without proper communication of kitchen updates.

We hugged those girls so tight as they cried and thanked them for trying but the management & owner should be so ashamed of everything.

I will not be returning to this establishment after seeing the things that I did.

Overbooked. Overpriced. Understaffed. Unprofessional.

Just, bad. The waitstaff tried to help but, the owners made it impossible. Seat at 630pm, ate at 845pm. We ordered, 30min later we were told no prime rib. Everyone reordered. 30 min later, no ribeye…then the food was brought out and none of it was what anyone ordered. Food was cold, tasteless, forgettable.

Unfortunate. Save your money and go to Fazolis. At least the food is warm.

What an awful experience. Overbooked, understaffed and they ran out of food. Both servers that helped us were in tears, they provided the best service possible given the circumstances. We were finally fed TWO HOURS past our reservation time and the food was awful. Cold & burnt. Management was rude and dismissive of our experience. Save your money, and don’t dine here.

Do NOT go here! Steak has no flavor other than burnt outside and raw. Drinks were so bad most people couldn’t even drink them! Reservations were for 6:30 didn’t see food until 8:45. Cold Alfredo noodles, raw cold steak. We ordered the special, prime rib and 30 min later were told they were out. Those people then ordered ribeye, 30 min later they came back and said they were out of that as well! Nothing was done right, I’ve never experienced anything so God awful in my life. DO NOT GO HERE! One star is being generous. This place will not be open long operating like that.

Do not go to this restaurant it is unbelievably terrible. The one star does not reflect on the server himself. He was the only good thing. Service is rated one star because if you order a drink it will arrive half way through your meal. The food is absolutely horrible. The prime rib is worse than overcooked roast beef. The salmon was so burned the bottom was like a brick. If you go please note the rat trap by the bench in the entrance and realize that your experience is about to get even worse. Darn…I was really excited to try this place and was a compete fail.

Well, to start, the bar service was slow & added drinks onto our bar tab that were not ours.
Reservation was on time, however our waitress seated us and brought bread but never checked back to see if we needed drinks, so had to go back to the bar for drinks.
Then brings out 1 persons meal & another persons side of 3 shrimp & didn’t come back for about 5 minutes with the other 5 people’s meals. The fish was still swimming/soggy wet. The tartar sauce was in a cup that was enough literally for 2 bites of fish. When asked for ketchup to go with the fries, the waitress brings 2 empty bottles to our table. When asked for cocktail refills, she brought one drink and forgot the 2 other bottles of beer.
The cheese curds and truffle fries were an up charge and were both terrible. The fries were literally just fries with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on them with no truffle sauce. The cheese curds were hard as a hockey puck and dried out.
Just in general our waitress had no personality and couldn’t even put on a smile to fake it.
When going back to pay bar tab after dinner, overheard the waitress complaining about her tips from the table. Unfortunately her service reflected her lower end tip, as the table was all quite dissatisfied… Noted many other patrons at the bar had unmet needs and were not quiet about them.
I understand this business just reopened under new ownership and things might be a little rusty, but very poor first experience.

I HAVE A NEW FAVORITE FISH FRY!!!! Ate at Oliva's at Gulliver's Landing and everything was knocked out of the ballpark. Table ready on time (reservation), fast service, everything served with efficient timing, and was fantastic. Superb beer battered haddock, perfectly seasoned french fries, fresh-crisp-cole slaw, and excellent ranch (I like everything dipped in ranch, and am such a ranch snob, I even make my own, never bottled!). If you are a fan of Carmellos baked fish, they have that as well and they are huge portions. And seriously, I am anal-I am even picky about my beer needs to be REALLY cold-and my bottled beer was! Well done to the ownership, chefs, and all associates working there. Our party of six all had a great time and loved the food! 11/10-sincerely! I do recommend making reservations, they appeared full house but our table was ready on time...big place so maybe the wait still is not long-no idea-but if you plan to go there, it would be worth making the reservation just in case 😉
