Stopped on our way out of town and this place was a gem. Gluten Free fryer made it a perfect place for my wife. All our food (GF fried chicken sandwich and burger) was delicious. Service was great. Owner stopped by the table was delightful to talk to. Will make it a priority to swing by on future visits.

Stopped here while in Madison for the day. It’s always hard to find good gluten free options, I was so impressed to see that most of the menu was gluten free or could be modified to gluten free. They even have a dedicated gluten free fryer, which is rare. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the smash burger. Both were excellent. Service was friendly and we even chatted with the owner for a bit. We will definitely come back when we pass through town again.

Located in front of the Verona high school. Friendly staff. Sat outside. Quiet lunch. Food was good. I'm doing this after the fact, so I don't remember what I ate 🥴. Wife had hot honey chicken. 👍

Came from out of town, decided to visit since it’s close the hotel and one of the hotel staff mentioned it. Please, don’t waste your money here. I ordered a side salad and the Marsala pizza. The salad was so dirty, clearly hadn’t been washed. Lifted one piece and you can see all the dirt. Disgustingg! The pizza was not cooked properly and was so so sloppy! Couldn’t get past a few bites. Very very disappointed

Server was great! Outdoor patio is nice, just unfortunate it’s right on Verona road. Food was good but nothing special. Cider was classic cider.

We ordered the fish fry all around on a Friday night. We were able to sit outside and enjoy their patio with beautiful lighting. This is the best fish fry I've had in decades!! The fish was cooked perfectly, the breading was scrumptious and not too thick. It was made from cornmeal and had a bit of crunch. The french fries were seasoned perfectly. The tartar sauce was out of this world and good for dipping the fries as well as the fish.
The portion sizes were generous with two pieces of fried fish on top of french fries served on a wooden plank with coleslaw and tartar sauce on the side. Very beautifully presented and mmmmm... so good

The Orchard is such a gem for Verona! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner and staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s a great sit-down option for our community, and we’re lucky to have it.
We brought the kids along and they loved it too, the space is family-friendly, and the food hit the mark for everyone. The pizza and burgers are both excellent, but the Orchard Burger especially stood out.
One highlight was chatting with the bartender at a prior visit, who explained that their cider is like their version of white wine, that completely changed how I think about hard cider. Definitely worth checking out!

Very let down by this spot. The website promised something fresh and inviting, but the reality was the opposite. The cheese curds arrived tasting burnt, with oil that was clearly past its prime. Despite being one of only two groups in the restaurant, we waited ten minutes before our waitress even came over. When we finally ordered, we asked for two of the same entrée, yet only one was brought out because she assumed we wanted to share. In hindsight, we were glad we didn’t get the second, because the food was completely bland. The concept here has potential, but the execution from both the kitchen and staff fell far short.

This is solely for the food as we didn't have any cider. Staff we're very friendly and pleasant. Food however was disappointing. Price to quality ratio isn't good and everything seemed quite overpriced for what it was. $1 each for a small pretzel bite??? $23 for a modest portion of pasta with cheese and a very small chicken slab? Presentation was sub par to us - you can see in other reviews photos and judge for yourself. None of the issues alone are terrible, but combined made for a memorable meal in the not so great way. Hopefully the food game can be improved. Happy we tried, but it's not for us.

Was excited to try something new and different in Verona but unfortunately it turned out to be just another mediocre local restaurant wrapped up in a fancy bow.
The menu offerings were sparse...2 burgers and a hot spicy chicken sandwich. Pizzas. Apps. A few entrees. Just like you'd find at bars and grills all over town...except higher prices.
The ambience was great and gives off the impression that the place would offer farm to table cuisine with layered and unique flavors and fresh variety of options.
Perhaps if the menu changed to make it stand out more I'd give it another go.

Absolutely lovely place. We came with our dog to sit on the patio, and they had a water bowl for us right away! We got the soft pretzel, pizza, and cider flights. We've had many of their ciders over the years at their previous location so we knew we'd love those, but this was our first time having food, and it was delicious!

Had such an odd interaction during lunch service. Our server informed us that the bartender got upset with her because of our drink order and that we weren’t up-sold (we still ordered liquor, just not one of the specialty drinks). Left a bad taste with our group. Other than that the food was good.

I will absolutely be coming back here! Everything about this restaurant was amazing! The space was beautiful, food was excellent, drinks were delightful, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and the owner was very nice and checking in with everyone.
They have quite a variety of offerings, and a lot of allergen friendly options. Most items on the menu are either already gluten free, or can be made gluten free, and there are a lot of vegetarian options too.
I am gluten free, and was extremely excited that they have a DEDICATED gluten free fryer, so everything fried is gluten free!!! I have not had fried cheese curds or chicken in 11 years! The staff were extremely helpful explaining the dedicated fryer, and other practices to prevent any cross contamination, which made me feel safe in eating here.
I had the n/a orange refresher to drink, and split the gluten free cheese curds and onion baji fritters appetizers with my friends. Then I had the hot fried chicken sandwich for dinner. It was amazing, very flavorful, and did I mention it was a fried chicken sandwich (it has been a long time)! My friend had the fried cod tacos, which are also gluten free, and are what I plan to have next time.
Neither of my friends are gluten free, however they loved all of the food and couldn't tell that it was gluten free, which is a win on all sides!
All in all, Orchard is a fantastic place to stop in for a meal, and especially if you need allergen friendly food, it is your next place to try!

I dined at The Orchard this past Saturday, and I’m honestly disappointed to say the experience fell flat, especially given how much effort my partner put into planning a special birthday night out. He called ahead, made reservations, and let the staff know it was for my birthday. We even arrived early and saw that the place wasn’t busy, so we were optimistic.
We were greeted warmly by an older gentleman and two hosts, so far, so good! But things quickly started heading downhill.
My partner had reviewed the menu ahead of time to make sure there’d be something for both of us to enjoy. Unfortunately, the item he was most excited about wasn’t on the menu, and what was available looked quite different from what your website suggested.
We ordered drinks and asked for recommendations. I asked for something sweet and got one of the driest ciders I’ve ever had. My partner’s drink had so much garnish, it was like playing a game of “where's the drink?”
Our first appetizer choice wasn’t available, so we opted for the pretzel and cheese. The pretzel was soft, which was promising, but the cheese was gritty, runny, and broken. Not exactly appetizing.
We had no napkins, no silverware, no salt, and no pepper, nothing. We eventually found napkins ourselves, and when our food arrived, we had to ask for silverware. After that, we didn’t see our server again until the very end of the meal, when she casually admitted, “We’ve not checked in in a while.” Correct—you had not. We overheard the conversation about the past cook (entertaining, sure), but meanwhile, our drinks were long gone, and no one asked how the food was.
The older gentleman did swing by to ask if we’d like ketchup, and we were grateful, because it turned out to be the only thing with flavor. My burger and my partner’s steak were both overcooked, and based on how service had gone, we didn’t see much point in sending them back. I did enjoy the fries, though even those were unevenly cooked.
We paid the bill and left to find dessert elsewhere. I love supporting local spots and had hoped to discover a new favorite. But for an appetizer, two drinks, and two entrees, you’d do better spending $100 just about anywhere else. Perhaps with more time under their belt, things will get better?

They had ‘restaurant week’ special so ordered cheese curds & a smash burger along with their hot fried chicken sandwich. Curds came with a delicious spicy ranch which I had also on the burger. The hot chicken had a good tang to it. Service was attentive & prompt. The restaurant was clean and had a good vibe.

Recently stopped here for a weekday lunch. Had the cheese curds and the fish tacos. Was not a big fan of the batter that was on the cheese curds, which I believe may be the same batter they utilize for their fish. It does, however, work very well for the fish.
Had their Apple brandy old fashioned, which was strong, & and would not get again. It definitely was apply & an old fashioned but I’ve had better.
Overall, the food was not bad, but was not overly impressed. I may be willing to try it again.

If you're anywhere near
Wisconsin and looking for a place that serves up comfort food with a local twist, Orchard is an absolute must visit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly pairs with their farm-to-table philosophy, especially when it comes to apples!
The soft pretzels and cheese curds are a fantastic way to start your meal, crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, with just the right amount of salt. Their mac and cheese is rich and creamy, an absolute must try!
But the real surprise was the apple pizza, a unique and delicious combination of sweet and savory that showcases their homegrown apples in the most creative way. It's unlike anything you've had before, and totally worth trying.
For dessert, don't skip the apple brandy cobbler. It's warm, comforting, and has just the right touch of boozy sweetness from their house-made brandy. Their hard apple cider is in a league of its own.
Crisp, refreshing, and made from apples grown right from their orchard. It’s a perfect pairing for everything on the menu.
Whether you're stopping in for a casual lunch, a cozy dinner, or just a cider tasting, Orchard delivers a truly Wisconsin experience with a sweet apple twist. Highly recommend!

I had dinner there recently, and it was fantastic! I got the Orchard Burger. Much to the chagrin of the staff, I asked for it well-done, but it was nonetheless very good.
Service was very good. I sat at the (full-service) bar, and the staff on the other side were attentive. One of the owners even came up to check how I was doing!
You won't go wrong with this place. I'm already planning to return with some friends to try the brunch!
Update: The brunch was even better than the dinner!

GF cheese curds were a Midwesterner’s gastro delight. Follow those with a smash burger on GF bun and this wheat-sensitive girlie was tickled pink. Service was friendly and prompt. We tried this new restaurant for the first time today and loved it. I had the caesar salad which was one of, if not the, best I have ever had, which is saying something because I have been having caesar salad for over 60 years" The lettuce was not cut up and was as fresh as it could be - if they told me that they just picked it from a garden I would have believed it. And, of course, the dressing was fantastic. This salad could be a weekly thing for me. I also had the sausages and the two others with me both had the French toast which was light and tasty.
I am anxious to return and try something else. Note that they have a limited menu but, for me that is a requirement for a good restaurant. The more items on a menu the harder it is to do prepare them. So I hope that they stick with the idea of a limited menu and do things right.

When my son and I arrived at 6 pm there was no host. We waited at the front for a couple minutes for someone to seat us. Several staff walked past us, but no one greeted us. We decided to sit at the bar, and as we walked to the bar to ask someone behind the bar if we could order food at the bar, an older gentleman came from behind the bar and asked if we wanted to be seated. We were finally seated.
The first thing I noticed was the acoustics were pretty bad at the table we were sitting at. It was like all of the voices in the room were amplified and echoing off the walls and ceiling. I could hardly hear my son talking to me across the table from me.
We ended up waiting at least 13 to 15 minutes for our waitress to finally take our order. We were about to get up and leave when she approched our table. Our drinks and order came out at a normal time frame.
I knew it was a new restaurant so I put all of the lack of timeliness aside and was hopeful that the food would make up for the slowness in service so far.
The cheesecurds were disappointing. The batter had cornmeal in it. The cornmeal made the cheesecurds crunchy instead of soft, and they had a toasted flavor that covered the flavor of the cheese.
I had the hot chicken sandwich. The sandwich had the same batter with cornmeal in it as the cheese curds had. The batter was again overly crunchy and the fried flavor of the batter overwhelmed any evidence that the chicken had possibly been seasoned. The only flavor of the sandwich was the hot sauce and the pickles.
My son had the double smash burger. I tasted his burger and we both described it as "mid". The bun was the best part of the cheeseburger.
The apple cider brandy old fashioned was had a dry tartness from the apple cider brandy. Once I adjusted my expectation of how it should taste using that brandy, I thought it wasn't bad, but I do prefer a traditional Wisconsin Old Fashioned.
I was truly hopeful that Verona would finally get another nicer restaurant that my wife and I could make frequent visits to... I really wanted to like the food and the atmosphere, but I can say that even putting aside the cost of the meal, the food itself was disappointing and that alone would keep me from returning.
I wish the owners well, and I hope they make changes to their menu, and maybe add some accoustic ceiling and wall decorations to help cut the amplification of the voices.

I ate here on Thursday with my son, daughter-in-law, and 4 yr old granddaughter. It was such a comfortable experience I returned two days later, on Saturday, by myself.
I found the atmosphere charming in the best sense of the word. During both visits the big doors were open to the patio. The music was good enough to listen to it. It was subtle enough not to make it a loud place, charming.
When I eat out, I usually drink the house wine, locally brewed beers, or scotch. The hard cider is a new experience for me. I had a flight of the "Year Round Ciders." I will always order the cider here. The cider came first, the local orchard came first. My initial expression of their story is that the restaurant is created to provide the suitably restaurant to go with the quality of the cider. After two visits, I say, "come for the cider, stay for the food."
The food was delicious. The menu is not long. The variety of items impressed me. Good things for the granddaughter. Good things for the grandfather and everyone in between. I had the apple cobbler dessert. What came was a wonderful surprise!
The service was the level I appreciate, attentive but not intrusive. We had good service whether coming as a single gentleman, or a family group with an active child.

It was fun to see all the ways they successfully incorporated apples into the different food items. I had the Orchard Pizza, with apples, prosciutto and brie. Delicious! This place has great potential, but the staff is lacking any sort of management or leadership. It literally felt like this place was run by high schoolers who have never worked a day in a restaurant. The service was just…strange. My friend asked for a water with lemon, so they brought her ONE lemon in a napkin. They only filled our water glasses once in the 3 hours we were there. Never refilled my soda, or even asked if I wanted more. The server asked if we were ready to order and before we could even answer, walked away awkwardly. My friend ordered the arugula tomato eggs benedict, and after about 5 minutes the server informed us that they no longer had the arugula tomato eggs Benedict, “just the Benedict without arugula”… she asked for mayo and ketchup for her fries, and the server came back with ketchup and informed us they had no mayo… then our plates sat after we had finished for about 20 minutes, along with our menus that they never took from us after we ordered. The smash burgers and fries were delicious though! Just terrible staff. Friendly but had ZERO training or experience. So strange.

The Farmer's Breakfast, Superior Walleye, and a side of pancakes were excellent. The pancakes were crispy on the edges and soft and fluffy in the middle. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes.

The selection and quality of the cider set surprised me, but I can't say the same about the food, unfortunately.

We had dinner here last night and absolutely loved it—the place, the atmosphere, the food, the cider… everything! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed.
Our server, Josue, was genuinely friendly and professional, attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s a great spot with a wonderful vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back!

John has done it again! A true farm to table restaurant with clean ingredients you don't have to worry about. The atmosphere is bright, airy, warm, and inviting. Will quickly become the go-to dining experience when you're in Verona!

Atmosphere was little stiff, but that was trumped by the overthetop service and the quality of food. Our server was new, and although he stumbled a bit, his attitude and customer service were impeccable, paying close attention to our needs. Such a wonderful man, I wish I would have gotten his name. The Orchard made my daughter's graduation from college a memorable evening, and for that, I can not thank them enough. If you ever want to experience the small exceptional, go to The Orchard. Quaint. Cozy, welcoming...it's worth the trip

While I don't typically write Google restaurant reviews, I felt compelled to highlight what a positive addition Orchard is to Verona's dining scene. Our exceptionally friendly and personable server, who also happened to be a manager (her name unfortunately escapes me), mentioned the initial plan was to open in Waunakee. Given Waunakee's existing array of upscale casual establishments like Lone Girl and Buck & Honeys, Verona is truly fortunate to now count Orchard among its culinary gems.
My wife and I dined here with another couple, and we sampled a delightful variety of appetizers, salads, and entrées, all of which were fabulous. (My only minor critique is that the Orchard Salad was a tad overdressed, hence the one-star deduction.) What impressed me most was the restaurant's inviting atmosphere and the steady stream of patrons, clearly indicating a strong appetite for this level of culinary quality in Verona – something we often have to seek out in nearby Paoli.
Let's hope Orchard's arrival signals a positive trend for our community, suggesting that Verona can keep pace with its neighboring bedroom communities in offering this caliber of dining. Not that I'm wishing competition for Orchard, though good places are usually better for it, but perhaps now Verona can stay on par with other Madison-area suburbs for this kind of "upscale casual" excellence.

We had an amazing experience at Orchard! We were celebrating a birthday, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The owner personally greeted us—he was so friendly and accommodating, which really added a special touch to our visit.
We started with a cider flight, which was absolutely delicious, and our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Apple Orchard pizza, and it did not disappoint—fresh, flavorful, and unique!
For a brand-new restaurant, everything ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The entire staff was upbeat and kind, which made the visit even better. We’re already looking forward to coming back and checking out the outdoor patio once it opens.
Highly recommend this place—Verona has a real gem in Orchard!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner. We made online reservations which was very smooth. We have the Fork and Knife Caesar salad and Lamb meatballs as appetizers and would recommend both. I had the orchard burger that was so tasty just a little messy to eat. The burger was cooked perfectly and the flavors were very good. I would recommend as well. I will return to Orchard again!

Have loved this place since they were the Cider Farm - definitely get a flight of cider and enjoy the creative farm-to-table style dishes! Love the pretzel, house salad, and had both veggie and orchard burgers. Pro tip: always get some bottles of cider to go. Service and ambience are awesome 😊

Had Easter Sunday Brunch, the food was fantastic, service was really great, we never felt rushed or unattended. The Cider farm was a great place to hang out for a bit and socialize, they have kept that feel but in a sit down restaurant/bar. Highly recommend, Verona needed this!

I know they just opened, so I will revisit and update the review later.
Reservations on OpenTable were easy and there was no wait time after entering.
I want to start out by adding everyone on staff we talked to was polite and friendly but there did seem to be only 1 waiter for the whole room which might have contributed to some of the problems I'm about to describe:
THE SERVICE
- We had reservations for 11:00 a.m. and we did not end up leaving until close to 1:00 p.m. Our toddler that we had brought started to get cranky since we've been there for so long waiting and his nap time was approaching. And waiting was the name of the game. If you go here, do not expect a fast or normal amount of time. Budget for it being a slow vibe.
- We probably waited 30-45+ minutes after we were done with appetizers before we got our main food.
-I then probably waited another 20 minutes when we were finished to get my bill.
- I never got checked on by my waiter in between any of these times.
- something as simple as wanting napkins at our table since it did not have any rolled silverware on it like the others took around 15 minutes from the time we declared we wanted them to ourselves to the time we actually got our waiter and brought it to his attention because he was so busy.
THE FOOD:
- I had a smashburger and fries. The smashburger was not very seasoned but it was tolerable. The fries on the other hand I did not care for. They reminded me of the fries from the Cleveland side of Ohio where it's a lot of skin and floppy, not very crispy. Maybe they put all of their hope into the burger sauce, which I did not partake in.
- My son enjoyed his mac and cheese and for a kids, mac and cheese, it was an extremely generous portion.
- The thing we really loved the most was the cheese curds. They were fried to perfection. The only problem that I personally have with them was it was $13 and we had about seven curds in total coming to around $2 per curd. Seems kind of expensive.
- The pretzel was mediocre. It wasn't as soft as the description would tell you. I think it was slightly overcooked.
- My wife said her eggs Benedict was okay and did not elaborate any further.
- my wife did love the cider.
ATMOSPHERE:
We enjoyed the atmosphere quite a bit. I think it they tune their recipes and up their service, this score will be changing in the future. Seems like a great place to go drink with friends.
Price: for me, my wife and my child with one alcoholic drink (for my wife) and two appetizers plus two main courses and a kids meal, the total cost was around $100.

Tried it last week and was not disappointed! Glad to have a new go-to restaurant on the West side of Verona. Overall, cider was delicious, service was friendly, and the food left me more than satisfied. I'm excited to go back.
As an aside, I wouldn't say no to the Orchard Burger having a slice of apple as an available topping in the future! ;)

I’ve been a longtime fan of the Cider Farm from their days at Brennan’s, so I was thrilled to see Orchard open right in my neighborhood. It’s such a special place—rooted in the values of farm-to-table dining and locally sourced ingredients, with the added charm of cider made from apples grown on their very own farm.
Every time I’ve stopped into the Cidery Room, the owner, John, has been there to personally greet guests with genuine warmth. That kind of hospitality makes a difference and sets the tone for the whole experience.
Opening weekend had a few bumps—we had a reservation that ended up being canceled due to overbooking—but we came back a few days later and had a great time. The staff were friendly and attentive and John was there to greet us as usual. We got the mac and cheese made with Hook’s cheese and the Orchard Burger, which was juicy and satisfying. The cider, of course, was fantastic and we enjoyed the cocktails as well.
We’re so happy to have Orchard in the neighborhood. Looking forward to many more visits here especially in the summer when their patio is open.

Their phone is disconnected as of now and upon arrival I am informed that they are not only taking reservations only (not sure how that works when you do not have a phone to call), but also they do not do takeout orders at present because of it being reservation only. A waste of time and gas. Hopefully they get themselves figured out so no one else has to deal with a bogus runaround.

My husband is a home cider maker and so it was exciting to hear of a place that opened focused on ciders. He really enjoyed trying a cider he hadn’t yet been able to make at home.
Servers were pretty attentive, chairs were very comfortable, we had a few mishaps with our food (looking at other reviewers it seems our apple pizza was not quite right) but we are looking forward to returning to try other ciders.
