This is the very first place I had peanut butter chicken, years ago and now they call it peanut chicken, it does not taste very good, they have a small selection of desserts, the egg soup was good.
I felt they had limited amount of food.
This was my first time at their new location, I felt the food was better tasting at the last location.
I probably will not go back there.

The hot and sour soup was a little more than pepper sauce stirred into the water. Fried foods in sauces had all turned to mush. Some of them even seemed a little rancid. Ive lived in the area for about 30 yrs and they're the only chineese buffet in Rhinelander...food is usually fresh...not a huge amount of flavor...the owner is a little grumpy sometimes but the waiters and waitresses have always been pleasant...if you want really flavorful chineese food and dont NEED multiple plates of food the Chinese restaurant down the road is the place to go...I beleive the name is peking

The purpose of this letter is to detail concerns regarding recent experiences at your restaurant. The restaurant has been frequented for a considerable time and was once held in high regard. However, recent visits have been disappointing, leading to the decision to no longer dine there.
The most recent visit, on July 29, 2025, presented significant issues. Two plates were ordered, and neither could be consumed due to the substandard quality of the food. Subsequently, vomiting occurred in the parking lot. This severe reaction strongly suggests problems with the food's freshness or preparation.
This follows a pattern of declining quality over the last 5-6 visits. The sweet and sour sauce tasted unusual, resembling chocolate in one instance. This raised concerns about dishwashing practices and possible cross-contamination.
In addition, multiple hygiene and safety issues were observed. Insects were present and bothersome on several occasions, which detracted from the dining experience. Some doors within the establishment were blocked, potentially creating a serious safety hazard, especially in emergencies.
As a long-standing and previously satisfied customer who has consistently tipped generously, these issues are deeply disappointing. The decline in food quality, along with the hygiene and safety concerns, does not meet the standards once associated with the restaurant.
It is hoped that these serious concerns will be considered and thoroughly investigated to prevent similar occurrences for other diners. The suspected foodborne illness was also reported to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

This is the first time we ordered from the regular menu and picked it up, and did not get the buffet. We ordered from the lunch menu which came with an entree, egg roll, soup and pork fried rice for under $10. We also decided on a dozen of their dumplings, My brother ordered the Shrimp with garlic sauce and I had Peanut Chicken. The recipes they use for their regular menu are more authentic, I think. When it says an item is "hot", it actually is. The dumplings were really amazing, delicately steamed to perfection and served with a spicy chili oil sauce. They are some of the best Chinese dumplings I have ever had. The Shrimp with garlic sauce had a real kick to it as well, had lots of large shrimp, brocolli and assorted vegetables and was also super delicious. The peanut chicken was very good as well. This is not a spicy dish. The peanut sauce is so good with chicken. I love it. I will definitely order from their main menu again. Everything was excellent and amazing. Get the dumplings!

I would give zero stars if I could. The highlight of my meal was the ice water. All of the food was bland and had no seasoning or flavor, except for the fish taste. There is a decent selection of items, and they aren't bad but at the same time aren't good.

A lot of the sauce bases are the same despite different meets, and very little in the way of flavour.

The egg rolls were good, and the peanut chicken was a standout.

I order from here at least twice a month take out orders. Seems to always be something wrong or missed. Today I called and talked to a lady, ordered a number 34. My lunch was delivered to me, I opened it up and found out I didn't get what I ordered. I called them back, the gentleman started saying it was my fault. Tried for the 1st time this weekend, food was cold, tasted oily, and of same sauce throughout the dishes. Never tasted fried rice, noodles, or crab rangoon quite like that in my life! The shrimp was NOT de-veined! They don't seem to follow serve safe food regulations. ( is it different in Wisconsin?) Workers in the back wearing flip flops .. with dirty feet. as they came to refill the buffet. the waitress cleared our table and then went to stir food at the buffet. No handwashing or gloves!! Was there a week ago Thursday - we were the only ones there at 2:00 pm which I thought was strange. Food was the worst we ever had there. I ended up in the ER the next day from food poisoning. My parents went to this restaurant a few days ago. My dad mentioned that he had a little of the General Tso’s chicken that didn’t taste quite right. He ended up violently ill and spending several hours in the emergency room without knowing the cause. Lab work confirmed he had food poisoning. It’s taken a couple of days and several bags of IV fluids and IV nausea meds, as well as oral nausea prescriptions, for him to finally start feeling better, although he’s still pretty weak. I don’t want to give a restaurant a bad reputation, but this situation has been quite dangerous. Not everyone has health insurance that will cover 100% of an ER visit. After seeing a few other reviews on here that mention food poisoning, I feel that this needs to be out there so prospective patrons can make informed decisions.

I like the food from here, the downside is that it's a buffet and alot of other people like it too. I do not like their new place. It's small and cramped, both the buffet and tables. I liked being able to walk on both sides of the buffet. Now you have to reach over and sometimes the steam will get your wrist. I liked having more space between me and the people eating next to me.

They have one of the best peanut butter chicken recipes I've had at a standard chinese buffet restaurant. It's crowded, and kind of noisy, not really an intimate or private meal setting. The food offerings have been the same for years so if you like it, you can expect to like it again next time. My nit-picks are small-like they got rid of their hand sanitizer which is crucial at a buffet these days. I will be bringing in my own from now on, considering the number of people i saw licking their fingers before handling the utensils. The coffee could be fresher, I don't think they dump and brew fresh when it's been sitting too long. And they got rid of Cherry Pepsi. Stuff like that. But hey like i said it's a hit with the wife and me. You can buy food by the pound to take out or you can pay one price to dine in. The tables and floors are clean. it's not a good spot for big groups so for best results think groups of 2-4 people.
