OMG! Stupendous food! Prompt, courteous service, reasonable prices. We were in the area (1hr from home),to shop at a new store in Watertown. On impulse, we stopped in at 3 in the afternoon because they were open & serving. Started with a Crab Rangoon that was so light, and crisp, it was like a crunchy cloud. Our entrees (Tan-Tan Ramen & a Red Curry) were perfection. Our waiter was prompt & pleasant. The food was better than any I would find in Madison. Just an amazing gem in this small town. Thank You Osaka for a wonderful experience!

We enjoyed lunch here. The food was fairly average for the cuisine. There was only one very nice server, but he was the only one there. I even wondered if he was cooking too. He would dissappear for long periods of time so it was hard for him to be attentive.

We just picked up carry out, pork tonkotsu ramen and it was bland with no egg, pad pak chicken was sweet, massive slices of ginger in dish, crab rangoon greasy and with little filling, pork dumplings tasted weird and dip for dumplings was not what was expected from previous experiences.

The employees are fantastic. They never make ordering uncomfortable, very polite overall. One gentleman (I don't want to spell his name incorrectly) always has an amazing attitude even with a slight language barrier. I enjoy him as a server. But all the employees are fantastic. My parents and I love going here on the weekends. The service is quite quick between ordering and receiving said order. If you're looking for quick yet quality food in the Watertown area, I recommend this place.

I've been wanting to try Osaka since they opened so I finally got the chance tonight with some take out.

Color me impressed! I started out with crab Rangoon and the Japanese Spring rolls called Harumaki. Both were very tasty and traveled well on the 9 min ride home.

I did the Beef Rib Ramen, extra spicy. OUTSTANDING! Unreal tenderness and flavor on that huge rib chunk!

The Ramen noodles had a good bite of texture to them and the (ordered) extra spicy was perfectly hot, and almost sweat-inducing (my fav level). I got a Taro (bubble tea) without bubbles? I ordered online so I just clicked.

I will be bringing my wife out here for date night sometime soon!

Bravo and thank you!

It was a first visit for me and the family. We went early so there was no crowd or usual folks at the bar. Will go back during a regular hour for dinner.

Staff were prompt and obviously plenty of seating at 4:30.

Variety of good drinks, wine, beer and Asian specialties. Old Fashion could have been a little stronger but it was still good.

Tried three appetizers and they were all fresh and hot and very tasty. Decent portion. And fairly priced. Enjoyed by everyone at the table.

Salad was cold crisp and just the right amount of dressing.

All four dinners were sized just right - needed 3 boxes. We shared and enjoyed and tell you it was really good. Glad that we have a nice Asian influenced restaurant in downtown. Will be back - and will also do take out when the mood hits us.

October 2024: The person (Jackie) who served me was on her first day, but she was still very nice. She was cleaning and setting tables, and working very hard to meet everyone's needs. I applaud her on her care! It did take a little while for them to take my order after I placed the menu down, but they were juggling 30 things at once.

The food took around 20 minutes to get out, but it was worth it, because it was absolutely incredible. I got Tonkatsu ramen (I recommend for beginners and people who don't like spicy food). I have been to many ramen restaurants, and I can confidently say that this one was one of the best ones (food-wise) that I have ever been to. The meat was perfectly tender, the noodles al dente, and the broth rich and creamy. All the toppings were full of flavor and paired amazingly with the food. I spent $20.20 with a 20% tip.

The atmosphere was very elegant and defined. They had pleasant piano music playing, though there was lots of chatter, but that's expected on a friday night. Their tables were numbered, I'm assuming so that the right food gets to the right place. The silverware was clean and shiny. The lighting was dim, but the sources were a little bright. The design of the restaurant has elements of both modernism, with the side lighting and the vases, and a nice classic feel with the design of the place itself.

The workers' uniforms were black and professional, though someone had open-toed shoes who was working there.

The restroom was very clean, and the stalls are wood-colored. They provide baby changing stations, but they were out of bed-liners. There's 4 toilet paper holders, so they should never be out. There's nothing automatic, and they had paper towel dispensers, which I personally see as a win.

The seating, even on a busy Friday night, was pretty generous and they were careful with their spacing and attention to detail. They have two seating areas, and a high table option. I believe they also had booster seats available for families with children.

Apologies for the blurry photos.

Edit (2025): I STILL often order Door dash, because the Tonkatsu Ramen is TO DIE FOR. I really love this place, and continue to think it deserves all the praise it has.

Edit: About a 9 months to a year ago the owners apparently cleaned house and got rid of their original staff. This information came from one of their replacement waiters who is no longer here, he warned me then he wouldn’t be here for long. The original staff was very nice, personable, and took care of you. The staff they have replaced them with are not bad but what you would expect from your local McDonald’s. Great food though. I love the spicy chicken ramen or the hot miso minus the bamboo shoots and the mushrooms.

I recently visited Osaka to try ramen for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience had a few missteps. The hot appetizers arrived at the same time as the entrées, and none of the entrées came out together, which made for a disjointed meal. The Beef Ramen was a disappointment—the meat had an odd texture and flavor, and the broth lacked depth. Additionally, the main dining room was quite dark, which didn’t add to the ambiance.
That said, I would consider returning, but I’d definitely opt for a different entrée next time.

We went there last Fall and it was very good. We went back today and it was very disappointing. The beef ramen was very bland with stringy beef. I had filet mignon and shrimp hibachi. The beef was very tough and tasteless. The shrimp and veggies were good and that’s about all that was good. The lettuce in the salad was in huge pieces and there was one big slice of tomato on it. I ordered the pork belly for an appetizer. It looked and tasted like boiled pork cut into cubes. No flavor. Such a drastic difference from the last time we ate there. So very disappointing.

We showed up at 5:00P on a weekend. They were short-staffed until about 5:30.

The interior decor is pleasant, although the temperature in the main dining room was a little too chilly to be comfortable.

The food came out pretty quickly and it was tasty. Unsurprisingly the meat seems to be precooked for the ramen bowls. The meat tasted fine, but the texture didn’t quite feel made to order.

Pricing is fair and enjoyed our visit!

When you love good authentic food and you find a gem where you least expect it... It makes you want to come back again and again. This was my first time in to Osaka. I came specifically for the ramen and was shocked by the variety of cultures represented (not always a good sign). But it's literally the only place I've been to where the summer rolls are filled with fresh herbs (seasonally available) and shrimp. Most Vietnamese and Thai places around Milwaukee just use lettuce and noodles and you're lucky if there's any protein. The pork belly yakitori skewers were salty and sweet and melted in your mouth. The Red Tonkotsu ramen noodles themselves were tender and delicately thin. With a rich broth and great spice and enough fixings to make me contently full.

On my second visit they didn't have fresh herbs for their summer rolls. I get it. Winter in Wisconsin isn't exactly great fresh herbs weather. I tried the beef rib ramen on the chefs specials list. It was amazing with lip tingling spiciness. Next time I'm going to try a rice bowl... Unless it's still -20!

Third time in today but today we're still freezing so ramen it is! Asked for a suggestion and was recommended to try the brisket... Spicy of course! Great contrast of the sweet meat that was so tender you could pull off pieces with your chopsticks and the creamy spicy broth.

The flavors in the broth of the Beef Rib Ramen are incredible and the tenderness of the beef, it literally fell off the bone. And the Korean Bulgogi dish was delicious as well. They charge $15 for the curry and give you a container full of liquid with 4 pieces of tofu 2 pieces of broccoli and a few carrots. It’s a total ripoff. It’s a miserly serving of vegetables and protein in a container full of liquid. The broth tastes good but that’s all you get.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in, we were captivated by the calming and charming atmosphere. We originally came in because we saw an ad for their ramen, but once we arrived, we realized they had so many incredible options that it was tough to choose.

We started with the pork tacos, which were absolutely delicious, and a side salad with a unique dressing that I’ve never had before but loved. For our mains, I had the beef rib ramen, and it completely blew me away! The ramen was exactly what I had dreamed of – rich and flavorful, with beef so tender it fell off the bone. My boyfriend got the chicken curry, and it was equally phenomenal, with an authentic taste that was impossible to stop eating. The portions were generous, too.

On top of the amazing food, the service was top-notch. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better. I would highly recommend this place to anyone – it’s definitely our new go-to date spot!

This is now our favorite date spot in Watertown! The atmosphere is calm and quiet, but not dark and brooding! The food is great and the service is too! We've had ramen, appetizers, Thai food, and their Boba and it was almost all great. Their hibachi is not my favorite, kinda bland, but the rest is fantastic!
The Thai Curries we've tried are huge portions and are loaded with flavor! The meat is tender and the veggies are perfectly cut.
This time we got a few apps, and the tacos are surprisingly filling for an appetizer, but Very worth the price. The meat was perfectly spiced, and I wish I'd though to put some soy Sauce on them sooner!
My wife got the Curry, and I normaly don't like peanut flavored things, but the light peanutyness was a perfect compliment to the spices and meat.

The building is gorgeous inside and out. It has original brick and pressed metal ceiling tiles painted black. The service was excellent. We got two perfectly strong Blue Hawaiian drinks. I had the Miso Ramen, the broth had a nice fresh ginger finish. The egg was perfectly jammy and marinated beautifully. The pork had notes of honey, and it all blended together beautifully. My husband had one of the specials with beef and kimchi. The meat was so tender and juicy, and the whole meal came together well. My son had the Hibachi Steak. The meat was also very tender and juicy. The veggies were done exactly to our liking. (Still with some bite but definitely cooked.) The Shrimp Tempura was awesome as well. The food came out very quickly and is not expensive.
The servers were very friendly.

We have been here twice. Beautiful old building. Tin ceiling and walls. Original wood floors. It is cold inside so bring a sweater.

The first time we went for dinner. Our waiter so so wonderful and helpful. I got the gluten-free vegan ramen. That was amazing. Actually amazing is putting it lightly.

The second time we went for a late lunch. So, they don't have a lot of gluten-free options. I shoild.have gotten the ramen. I wanted to try something different so I got the gluten-free scallop Hibachi. I couldn't get the soup, it had gluten and dairy. So I got the salad. Both salad dressings available have dairy and/or gluten. I asked if they could whip up an easy vinaigrette. Yikes, wrong thing to say. So I asked for some lemon and pepper. I got ice burg lettuce and a few carrot shreds, from a bag. A couple slices of tomatoes, tomatoes were good. And lemon slices, no pepper. Finally we asked someone else for the salt and pepper. It was lettuce....

Scallop Hibachi: overcooked scallops. Good rice. Veggies cooked perfect but in a heavy oil, and no seasoning. Tamari sauce on the side. I won't get that again.

Easy vinagrette: sesame oil, rice vinegar, tamari, sugar, red pepper flakes. Whisk. Yum. 2 minutes to prepare.

Delicious food and great experience overall! My only disappointment is that it took me this long to eat here. Watertown, please do your part to keep this great cuisine a part of our community. I will definitely be doing my part. Thank you for the excellent experience Osaka!

I just tried this restaurant for the first time, my mind and taste buds were blown. The atmosphere was stunning. The staff were kinda, helpful and prompt. The food, other worldly. If I could give the food more than 5 stars I would. We couldn't decide what we wanted so we got a Korean bulgogi rice bowl, Korean tasos, Bonito Ramen, yellow curry, clear soup and fried bananas. Every single dish was breathe taking not only in the presentation, but the flavor profiles were Michelin star quality.

10/10 will continue coming here and you should too.

This new treasure in Watertown is awesome!! I have been to other Ramen places and this holds a candle and then some. The building is an old brick with fancy detailed ceilings, bringing an atmosphere of old world charm with new food options! Give it a try!

Bobba Tea was really good I’d like they add lychee however we order calamari and it was flavorless tasted that it was uncook…I won’t not recommend if you like calamari this is not the best place for get it.
Otherwise the experience was nice so far.

My husband and I walked in and the host was friendly and was very knowledgeable. We chose a sake and we both got Miso and Tonkotsu ramen and it was the best! (Better than the package ramen.) The broth was very flavorful and the perfect serving size :) One of the best authentic Japanese food ever!

BEWARE!!! READ BEFORE YOU GO! WIFE and I went here with our 4 children. We were greeted and seated in a timely manor. That was about the extent of the good. After we ordered 2 of our meals came out really quick, after 5-7 min later, 2 of our other meals came out. After 5 min our server came over to check on us. We said we were missing 2 of the kids meals. He asked what ones were missing and we had to tell him. By the time the last 2 meals came out delivered by someone from the kitchen. Something was wrong, we waited 20 min trying to flag someone down to get there attention nobody came. The food was ok… nothing to knock your socks off. They do not have Pad Thi on the menus even tho it shows online. My wife and kids went to the car and I wanted over another 5 min to get the bill. Appalled by the service my tip was not going to be great… Well I had a party of 6 or more… Even tho it was my own family they added 18% gratuity. If you want to do that I better be getting good service. I unfortunately will not be back and warn the area as well.

Ordered a dish that I am paying for with an addition of shimp to the dish. Sadly 😥 I was shocked to pay $4 for shrimp that was added at a dollar a piece and was small pieces. Shrimp size is what you would use in a bacon wrapped appetizer. Good flavor overall, but not worth the price.

Nice place, food was very good. However it was so cold in there it was uncomfortable and my hot food easily turned cold in minutes. By the end, we complained it was too cold 🥶 I mean when you see every customer keeping or putting their jacket on! That would be a sign... we asked the server if he was cold...he was!? So not sure why this was not attended to sooner.
They did turn the heat up... you could feel it when we left.

Service could have been a little quicker in the beginning.

I had the opportunity to dine here a few weekends ago and was absolute delighted with our visit. Great service was honest, attentive, and very present.
I have to give the food 4 or of 5 only because I thought the appetizers lacked a little bit, the clear soup and crab rangoon needed a little extra something. However, the main course was absolutely mind blowing. Those ramen eggs are to die for! Overall, the entire experience was very pleasant. I intend on returning to try something else off their menu.

I wish I could award bonus points for the full bar options.

To the Osaka staff, Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. I can't wait to return.

Food was ok. We were so cold is wasn't funny. I know it's cold out but I had 4 layers on and I couldn't take off my coat.My husband's hands were turning white. Waiter never asked us how are food was. I could barely read the menu as the lighting was so dim, don't know what I was eating because I couldn't see it. Crab rague was good, so was the clear soup. I ordered one of the bobo drink things and I had to chew the balls. They must have not been cooked. They could do a lot better.

It was very cold in there. Of course it’s an old building. Beautiful old building just don’t sit by the windows sit farther in. I was very disappointed in the food. There was no sauce no juice. We got rice. I don’t know what we were gonna do with it because there was no juice or sauce, the steak and the chicken was so dried and overcooked we couldn’t chew it. I was so hopeful that there would be a Japanese restaurant that would be good in our town. But this isn’t it. I hope it changes. The service and the people were excellent. It’s too bad . I go to the hibachi restaurant in Janesville and it’s so good the food is so good and there’s so much sauce and juice that you can actually use your rice.

Service and food were top notch. We were greeted right when we walked in. Owner came and introduced himself and held nice conversation. We ordered crab Rangoons, spring rolls, rib Ramen, steak and scallop hibachi and old fashions. There was nothing that was not phenomenal. Also, they did a fantastic job renovating the place. I would give it 10 stars if I could. We will definitely be back.

The food and service were both absolutely amazing! Best crab ragoon I've ever had! I also tried the spicy chicken Ramen, absolutely delicious. The beef bulgogi rice bowl was delicious as well, the meat melted in your mouth. Our sever Teguh was delightful. The food came out fast. Beautiful ambiance. I definitely recommend this resturant.

Food was exceptional! I got the raamen with beef rib and it was to. Die. For. The beef rib was tender and flavorful and the ramen was balanced and savory. My husband doesn't even care for ramen and tried to steal my bowl--he said he would have an entire meal of just the ribs! His hibachi plate was also tender flavorful and delicious. The crab Rangoon's were phenomenal--we got one order and had to have a second. Fresh, flavorful and hot. Our new comfort food spot in town for sure!!

Unfortunately this was a very bad experience. We ordered pickup online. After arriving at the pickup time, we were told 2 times it would be 5 more minutes. After 30 more minutes of waiting we got the food. Not a deal breaker, as they were very busy and they were apologetic.

The spring rolls were probably the worst we have ever had. The ramen tasted like dish water. The yellow curry tasted fine, however, it was VERY spicy and I do not like spicy food. There is nothing on the menu saying it was spicy. The teriyaki steak tasted like a mcdonalds hamburger.. maybe not the worst this in thr world? They got our side orders wrong as we were given the wrong soups.

This is my first time ever leaving a review like this and I feel bad about doing so. I hope this new business can make improvements.

Food was good, the portions where quite large. Mango boba wasn't good however. Service was fast and everyone was nice. Price wise though, our table's food cost a total of 50 bucks, after tax, and gratuity (which is 18%) our meal was almost 90 dollars. For 3 people, two of the meals where $11 or under. Oh that's not including tip. Because gratuity isn't tip. It was not worth the price we paid, I won't be back.

I was delighted with how delicious their broth was for the Spicy Miso. The thicker yellow noodle is hands down the top tier noodle, so if you get the Tonkotsu, I'd personally make the noodle change. Great hospitality at the bar & the staff were very kind. I am happy knowing these guys should easily thrive in Watertown. Thanks, everyone! I'll be back again soon.

I consider myself somewhat of a foodie and I had heard great things about this place. It did not disappoint. When they first opened I heard they were having trouble expediting and getting food out in a timely manner but that did not seem to be a problem tonight. Everyone in Watertown should proudly embrace having a place like this in town. The food is incredible, especially at the price point. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and for a place that recently opened I feel they are doing a great job. Atmosphere was very nice and cozy. Hats off to the people at Osaka. As a fellow business owner in Watertown who takes alot of pride in what I do, hats off to all of you. We will be back and I look forward to further exploring the menu! * I'm not one to post reviews. This place earned it.

Been there 3 times now. All 3 dishes I've tried have been absolutely amazing, easily the best Asian food in Watertown. The one time we ordered carry out, there was a wait after the 40 minutes we were told it would take, but I was given a free beer while I waited in the restaurant and got a free appetizer as well. Service is always super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
