The staff and managers at Outback Steakhouse make this place a wonderful place to grab a meal. 3 sisters from out of town celebrating a retirement, a 60th birthday and a 65th birthday and fortunately had Paul as our server who made our outing extraordinary! He was so pleasant and fun and wanted us to feel like we could leisurely stay and visit as long as we wanted. He went out of his way to help us select things that worked within our budget without making us feel like a problem. Pretty sure you need to clone Paul as he has hospitality down to a fine art. !!!

I can always count on the great quality of the food at Outback, and my visit last night was no different. What made the evening really great was our server, Madelynn. It was a first girls-night-out in a long time. I’m sure we took too long to order, and for sure we stayed too long at our table, but Madelynn made us feel free to take our time, and enjoy our evening a long as we wanted. Her service added to a really fun evening out!

UPDATE: You know those delicious, garlicky croutons in the Caesar salads? Yeah, they’re gone. Now they’re just bland pieces of dry bread. And those Prime quality sirloin steaks? Now they’re Select cuts at best, full of fat and sinew. The giant sweet potatoes? My last two were the size of a toddler’s fist, which is probably why they only gave me a scant tablespoon of butter and a half-teaspoon of brown sugar to dress it. I understand costs have risen, and this store is trying to keep costs low, but there’s a reason there’s never a wait for a table anymore. I’m very sad about this, because other Outback restaurants I’ve been to still have the quality I used to count on here.

There were very few people in there.So I don't know what the problem was. The salad that we got was very soggy. And gross! The menu said it had a new item which was ahi tuna, so we ordered it only to get the same thing. That's on the appetizer list plus another salad that we already had gotten as a side. Nobody bothered to tell us that we were getting a salad with it. And I really didn't want The ahi appetizer, I wanted an ahi. Steak, like I assumed it would be. The evening began with an empty parking lot, so we were expecting exceptional service. Our waitress, Dulce, was at our table before we had even picked up our menus. We ordered water and no appetizers. We finally were able to determine what we wanted to order. We were given the wrong salads but didn't realize until one person was finished. We had each ordered soup but only one person got theirs at first. The steaks came out as ordered; however, they were delivered as chunks of meat on a white plate with "bloody" juice all over. No attempt at all to create an appetizing plate. The credit card machine REQUIRES you leave a tip. We entered .01 and left the cash tip on the table.

The issues we had may have been lessened if our waitress had bothered to check on us.

We will not be spending our money there again.

We eat at outback quite often in Lacrosse and several other locations and never had a bad experience until tonight at the Lacrosse location. First our blooming onion was waaaay over done and tasted burnt and like old oil, second my husband and I both ordered steak and rib combo, steaks ordered medium the order finally came out after 3 other tables that came in after us got there food and both steaks were raw not rare but very cold and raw the waitress must be new as she didn't have a clue what to do. My husband asked her to put them back on the grill cpl minutes later they came back at best extremely rare and cold in middle we paid the bill on the table machine and left. On top of that the manager was at a table across from us the entire time we were there talking with a cpl and not once checked on another person or table. Spent over $120.00 with tip for absolute trash food. The waitress got a 20% tip even though she was definitely trained in which isn't her fault. Maybe the manager should spend less time bullsheeeting and more time checking on tables and staff. The table next to us asked the waiter multiple questions and all he kept saying was he honestly didn't know to every thing they asked.

I have been in town for the week and my accommodations are quite close to Outback so it’s been the easy choice each evening for dinner. The food has been great with every visit. But really what stands out is the surface I’ve gotten a couple times from one particular employee. Elyse has been extremely positive personable. One night in particular when all 15 of us in town bellied up to the bar, she handled it without any stress or fuss. It probably wasn’t a typical Tuesday night shift for her. But she handle it very well and was extremely personable And made sure we got what we order and checked on us regularly while we were there. Can’t say enough about the service she provided. Desirae does such a great job ... she is extremely efficient and personable as a server. She makes you feel very welcome, as does Kelly the owner and the rest of the staff. Food was excellent as always!

September 2022 update: Such a great meal tonight! Matt, our server, always does a great job ... Always enjoy our interaction with him. The food was delish: some of the best chicken i have had. March 2022 update: just had another great meal. Our servers, Isabelle and Shawn, did a great job, the food was excellent as always and it was a good value. We love the Outback. Always have a great meal when we are at Outback and tonight was no different. Quality food and excellent, friendly service ... A real favorite for my husband and me.

Madelynn was amazing!!! Busy bar and she kept her compose the entire time. Never looked rushed, every thing was timeout perfectly. Not a single complaint all night. It also helped she’s absolutely gorgeous and very easy to talk to. Thanks- we’ll be back!

A lot busier, the place has become popular again! The blooming onion has always been a fave and now they have the same flavors as a shrimp appetizer.
My husband tried the chicken dish that is featured and loved it!
The only part I wasn't as fond of was the sauce for my coconut shrimp.

We had an awesome night at Outback thanks to Madelyn and the whole crew. Madelyn was seriously one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere. She was friendly, fast, and somehow five steps ahead of what we needed the entire time. Huge shoutout to Kelly, too. It’s obvious she’s built a team that actually cares and enjoys what they do (which, let’s be honest, you don’t find everywhere these days). Great food, great service, and a place you actually look forward to coming back to. Well done, Outback team - you crushed it!

We have been frequenting Onalaska Outback Steakhouse lately because of the good food and great service. A 4/25/25 last minute choice of Outback for dinner did not disappoint. Our server Madelynn was very attentive and even during a busy dinner rush was able to devote time for a personal conversation with us. The Manager, Kelly, took time to visit with us as well. This Outback is well run and staffed. We highly recommend and will definitely return!

Despite it being very busy, we had a lovely dining experience from being greeted warmly as we entered, to the attentiveness of all the staff. Our drinks, appetizers, and entrees were served promptly. Our server, Abbie, was especially attentive and friendly. Only drawback was the extremely small booth we were seated at. Really wasn't enough room for everything and the seating in the booth was very tight. Thank you for a lovely night out!
