The chicken tasted either fishy or like dirty dish water. We could not decide. The beef, beans and rice tasted fine. The tortillas and chips were a little stale. Overall the look and feel was a standard mid-west Mexican restaurant. The staff was very nice. The place the clean.

1st time - I don't say this lightly. This place has amazing tasting food! Great atmosphere! And smiling awesome staff!
2nd time - ordered a taco salad with chicken. Please do not order it. The 1st one i got had maybe 6 pieces of lettuce so I asked for more lettuce was charged an additional $1.50, only find out that the taco bowl was swimming in juice. I let them know I wasnt happy with it and instead of asking if I'd like something else, they just took my plate and made a new one. Granted this one was better and lucky i had a side of lettuce to put on it, but still average or below. Unfortunately not a very good visit.

My margarita came very quickly so I'm afraid it came from a dispenser. It was served in a rectangular glass which was awkward to drink from but was good nonetheless. I ordered a chimi Verde, not on the menu but served nicely with Verde(green sauce) on my chimichunga. My wife ordered fajitas and they came quickly and did not sizzle as one would expect.

One of my favorite Mexican places around Madison. Service has always been amazing and food never disappoints. A big menu and good vegetarian options. This is the only place I have ever known to give a free refill on horchata! They don’t skimp out on amount of food, in my case shrimp. Salsa is good, food is good, margaritas good, everything is good and that’s why we come back over and over.

What a great place! We (party of 4) went for dinner this evening. The service from the server was bar none, some of the best we have had. Very attentive and always checking if we needed anything. My shrimp "la diabla" (spicy) was spicy but not too ... my husband loved his chimichanga (even took home leftovers as did we all because the portions were so much!). Great complimentary chips and salsa. Margaritas (because you have to!) were worth a second round. I know it's a little out of the way for the Madison crowd, but if you want a boost of colorful uplifting decor, great food and even better service, you should check this place out!

Everyone got sick right after eating here! Nachos were a soupy mess and only came with a handful of chips, meat, and watery cheese - couldn’t even lift up a single chip it was so soggy and ended up getting a side of chips. Quesadilla had chunks of random crusty chicken pieces and also had refried beans even though that’s not how the menu describes it. Paid for rice that never arrived. Frozen margarita was not fully blended.

Oh, yeah! Our new go-to for Mexican food. Great neighborhood location with engaging, friendly service. The Molcajete is huge (and hot)! The rice...the easiest item to get right...was dry and crunchy.
I ordered at 2:50. The menu says lunch items are served until 3:00, but I was told lunch wasn't available.
So, I ordered the exact same thing as the lunch item I wanted, except it was all ala carte... costing us more for the same meal.
One of the tamales in my meal was mainly empty...smallest sliver of meat at the very bottom. Topping with only ground beef as the only option is a cheap copout. Most places offer pork or chicken as a topping for the same price we paid here.
My boyfriend's burrito was salty and his rice was horrible, as well, obviously...
The server who started with us is the one who told us lunch items weren't available. He seemed like he didn't want to be there and was unfriendly. The lady who took over at the shift change was much, much, much better!! So, I'm giving an extra star for service than I would have if he'd been our server the entire time.
I intended to also order the flan but the experience was bad so I didn't want to stay for it. )Which means they lost out on a sale/higher bill.)
The chips and salsa was great!! And the drinks were delicious. We ordered a margarita and a pina colada.
I won't be back but I could recommend others go there for chips and salsa and drinks stop in.

This has been my go to restaurant for Mexican. The decor is fantastically outrageous and brightly colored with music and tvs to match it. I love it. Parking can be a bit of a headache during busy times, but it's worth it. Caution is warranted. All my friends love this place as well for Mexican eats. They make great food!
