I had the fish fry. Batter was very thick and greasy not much fish. First bite was fishy tasting, not in a good way. Coleslaw was warm and running all over rest of plate. Corn bread was dry. Tartar and butter warm and looked like it had Ben cooking under a heat lamp. No presentation. French fries were ok, overall it was quite terrible. I believe that if you have a fish fry on your menu, you should try to perfect it, being in Wisconsin. Really super nice servers though!

We had a few drinks and some fried snacks. The food and atmosphere and great. We also took a pie making class with Valeri in the back pie making kitchen. The class was supper fun. She is an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable. We made strawberry rhubarb pie and it turned out excellent. Valeri really ran a great class and made it fun and informative.

Went on a Friday night. It was busy, but we were lucky enough to get a table right away. Our waitress was pleasant enough, not enthusiastic but polite. We had looked at the menu online, only to discover the pictures were several years old and no longer valid. The food was decent bar food, nothing special, and the drinks were good. Great food, good service and just the right vibe. I appreciated the hospitality and ambience of the bar during our visit; professional but casual.
Not sure what the spices were in the haddock fish fry, Bay’s maybe? But it was delicious and plentiful. Breading was perfectly golden brown and fish was tender and mild.
Cole slaw, my definition of a great fish fry, was outstanding as is usual in Milwaukee. 😉

My wife and I went for a fish fry 2/14/25. We have been here before and had burgers and fries along with some cocktails. Burgers and fries are very good and the old fashioned was great but I wouldn’t come back for the fish. It wasn’t busy as we were there around 4:30pm. We picked our own spot to eat and the server was right there with waters and menus, she asked us if we wanted a drink and we ordered the old fashioned. We already knew what we wanted to eat so we ordered 2 fish fries. Well the drinks were great but the fish came out and a lot of it was over cooked. The fries were very dark and not very crispy, they almost look like sweet potatoe fries. You couldn’t tell right away what the fish looked like until we started eating. I should have sent them back and I’m sure they would have been redone. My fault I didn’t. But the server should have taken a look a the plates before bringing them out and told the chef to remake them. I did notice other peoples fish and it looked dark. So still my fault I didn’t send them back. I will still come for the sandwiches and cocktails but never for fish.

Came for a fish fry and this was INCREDIBLE! Toured Milwaukee and this place was highly recommended by a local chef. The staff was super attentive and made any drink we wanted (super specific brandy manhattan was fabulous!) and the atmosphere was a local, well loved and quiet place well worth the drive. Palomino is a great local bar in a fantastic neighborhood in Bayview. Unpretentious, Palomino is purported to have a good kitchen, but we didn't eat on this particular evening. Henry was our barkeep when I sat down with two friends. He served great drinks and answered my questions with aplomb. I love living in Bayview.

Great service, crispy, fluffy tots. I got the beyond burger for the first time and I'm just not a fan- not palomino's fault! When I ate meat, I used to get their double brisket burger and it was *chef's kiss*.

They also have Oatmeal Cream Pies (OCPs as I affectionately call them) and they were very tasty. If they ever don't have them and you're craving an elevated experience, check out Baked Whims. Lisa sometimes makes them and they're so tasty.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but being not being tech savvy and super elusive isn’t cool, it’s just annoying. They don’t have their menu listed on their website, and we couldn’t find anything online. We called several times to see if we needed reservations, and no one answered.

Ordered the vegan hot chicken sandwich. We asked for lettuce on our sandwiches and they gave us shredded lettuce that ended up falling off?.. strange.

The “special sauce” looks and tastes like mustard. The tots were mushy and falling apart.

It was all just okay.

I only give the one star because of the service!!!! I came all the way from Madison to visit a friend so I thought that I would be able to finally try some things I’ve been eyeing on the menu but was extremely disappointed to find out that there are only a few things available as snacks available food wise (like pretzels or cheese)… Nonetheless I decided to stay and have a drink anyways. I then watched soooo many people come in and immediately leave after they too found out that the food menu isn’t available anymore. I also found out that I was lucky that they were even open because others never know when they are actually open anymore since the online information is never updated! I must say that if this review was simply on the service, I’d give it 28 stars!!!! Abigail, the bartender was working by herself and handled the waves of people that came through extremely well(I’ve been in the industry as well)!!! It would’ve been so helpful for her to have had even just one more person on with her not just because it would’ve been helpful but also coming from corporate businesses it’s a safety issue to not have more than just one female working. I’m sure she can handle her own but from a management perspective, that’s crazy!

This place you want a seat at the bar. Big selection of whiskies including some very rare and pricey kinds. The food is good, but the deserts are fantastic. The service is exceptional. My only complaint is the place can get very packed, and loud. Not too big a problem on nice days, because they have sidewalk seating.

If you find yourself at Palomino, get one of their sandwiches - they’re all delicious and filling. Whether it’s the pulled pork, fried chicken, PBLT or veggie po-boy - you can’t wrong. Their burgers are very good as well. I’d also highly recommend the pimento mac and cheese as a side. Great selection of tap beers and specialty cocktails.

Service here is also top notch. We were checked on frequently and all of our needs were met. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Oooooooh man what a great place. The food choices were fabulous, and an Amazing original take on many of the entrees. The the food was tasty and hot, except for the salad Which was delicious but not hot 😁, The vinegarette was magnificent! Delicious French fries, I had a triple Burger And fries done to perfection, my wife had the fried pickles and the fried artichoke garden salad. A couple of ice cold Miller's, and my wife had her water and coffee as usual. Honorable mention for the coffee, some of the best I've had out!

The sticker says hate free zone, And, they were correct. I met some really interesting people and had a couple of really enjoyable conversations. This is how strangers should interact, love your neighbor!

The double chicken sandwich and fries are worth the visit! Add bacon for just $2 more. We also loved the mac & cheese side, and cocktails.

Currently (Aug 2021), you grab a table on the outdoor sidewalk patio and order at a walk-up window. The inside of restaurant is not open for seating.

We will definitely be back to try the burger and whatever else sounds good.

I've been to the Palomino many times over the years and I can safely say that they've never disappointed me. The food is delicious every time, and they have a wonderful selection of vegan options. I highly recommend the vegan chicken sandwich and the vegan wings! The service is always good, even during Covid. I've never had issues with online orders or picking up, and they'll even come to your car before you're able to call to and tell them you've arrived. A nice place to consider for late lunch on a weekend. Palomino Bar is a very neighborly business located at the residential heart of Bay View. The outdoor patio is basically on the sidewalk and you'll get the feeling that you're sitting next to a food truck eating. It's exactly like that.

I like this approach. You feel part of the neighborhood rather than being inside this enclosed business with defined walls and doors. The inside section is closed off for COVID-19.

There's a spot reserved for curbside pickup. Parking is on the street but you should be able to find a spot most of the time.

Their fried chicken sandwich is spicy. Very juicy. Comes with nice soft fries.

Fried pickles are must try. Don't forget the dipping sauce.

Palomino Bar is perfect for what it is. A neighborly experience. Nothing less, nothing more..
