We have been going to Parnell's for 30 years and never had an issue until tonight. My husband ordered paddock and it was great as always. I thought I'd try the froglegs. What a mistake. Overly SALTY. I complained and she took $3.50 off my bill. I wanted something else. Of course I didn't finish them. I'm still hungry. Why!!!

The atmosphere was fine. Although, the majority of the patronage were white people. The only black people were me and my cousin. The customer service was great and the food was good. It would not be a good place if you are concerned with being the only person of color in the restaurant.

Hometown atmosphere with a bar up front and tables in the back for dining. Reasonable prices , lots to choose from the menue. We went for Friday night fish which was wonderful. I even had frog legs. It gets crowded early and they don't take reservations except for certain nights. They have an unique system. When you come in the door for eating, they give you a number and call for you to be seated.

Decided on Parnell's for a fish fry tonight. What a disappointment. It's been a while since we've been here, but until tonight, I would have said this was one of the best fish frys in the area. Twenty something dollars for three overcooked, dinky, perch butterflies, a tablespoon of coleslaw, a tablespoon of tarter sauce, couple slices of bread and a good amount of fries. This place used to be outstanding, not any more.

The place was packed with a 45 minute wait. It's with it. We were in town for EAA Airventure, and the locals were very welcoming. We had a nice conversation as we waited, and the servers have a system to speed up the service-- you order before actually being seated. Seems odd, but it works. Trust me and get the "famous" broasted chicken, the best I've ever had hands down. Brother had the perch, which was just good. Really reasonable prices, too.

Did a takeout order, had to repeat order 4 times & they still forgot part of it. Thankfully my husband checked before we got all the way home. Called & had to go back but the guy never had it remade, so I had to stand & wait, only to walk out with a burnt grilled cheese, after again standing there waiting because he never had it made the 2nd time either. Order fries, nowhere does it says fries are Cajun, but that's what we got, so those went in the garbage as spicy food can't be eaten. The prime rib was extremely over cooked, more than fully cooked and ZERO flavor, the broasted potatoes, we would have had the same taste as just eating a raw potato. The only thing that wasn't terrible was the coleslaw slaw & cheese curds.
Now let's talk about when I walked in.... bartenders standing around scrolling their cell phone, stood their 6 minutes before even being acknowledged. People with empty glasses & the bar was disgusting dirty. And When I had to go back the 2nd time the bar was still dirty.
My husband was so excited to try this place, ended up very disappointed in all of it.
I wouldn't give any stars if that was an option! Definitely not worth the price we paid.

Our first visit to Parnell's Place. I ordered the 4 piece roasted chicken, my dinner date ordered the king prime rib dinner. Our server was very friendly and easy going, timely with refilling our drinks as well. Food was served in a fair amount of time. The chicken was crispy and hot! Just what I was looking forward to. The broasted potatoes were good and no heavy breading or batter to over complicate them. My companion ordered the sweet potato tots and they were delicious especially with the sweet butter served with them. The entrees were very good, and we would definitely visit again. But the best part? The slaw lol we are picky about our slaw lol can't be too sweet or too sour- it has to be just right to meet our salad standard LOL this slaw was perfect! Just enough sweet and just enough tang in the light dressing, and celery seed in it as well.

The weather the evening of our visit was warm for Dec 28- high temp of 47* and sunny. My regular body temp runs warm to sweating. I took a light jacket with me and I was comfortable in their dining room.

Friday fish fry here was incredible. I got the bluegill and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Sweet potato tots were great as well. Fried Haddock was incredible and it's ayce. Baby Walleye was great. Breading was light and crispy. Fish was hot. First time my husband and I ate here and we will not be returning. Firstly, there was chicken bones amongst other random scraps of food under the tables. Kind of expected the place to be dirty since it's a bar but still.. We went here because we are fairly new in town and are in search of a good fish fry. This is NOT the place. There was a wait so we started a tab at the bar. Bartender forgot my drink, and started making other drinks. Husband had to remind him about my soda, even though it was only a few mins passed when we first ordered the drinks. My husband ordered a seafood platter and I ordered a cheeseburger. His fish was burnt and the fries were hard. Waitress forgot his soup and didn't warn him it was scolding hot when it was served at the end of his meal. My burger was undercooked and tasted like a McDonald's patty, also hard fries. Our waitress didn't check on us and we had to flag her down several times for refill of drinks, soup, and napkins. Her attitude wasn't the best either. As we were waiting for our bill, we overheard a patron ask if there were any open tabs, as she had enough to drink and had her chicken ready to go. The bartender replied with my husbands full name, with the credit card in his hand, showing it to the customer!!! The customer then started saying she was husband and to put her drinks and meal on the tab!!!! We decided that was enough of Parnells for us. I would give zero stars if I could.
