Waitress was rude and was bothered by questions. Food was horrible. Noodles were way undercooked. Garlic was an afterthought, just thrown about the plate.

Dine there

I dine @ Pasta Vino on a fairly regular basis
Aug 6, 2025 - treated myself to dinner there again tonight. Another good dinner - good service and food. The owners came over to visit and check up on me. Slower night - thus they had the ability to give even more attention to my visit.

Been in Door County for over 30 years. And we decided to try Pasta Vino it was closer so we could walk there. It was delicious we loved the limited menu for they focused on just certain entrees. The wine and beer was great the food was delicious, our server was awesome!! We were so happy that we tried it and we will be back!! The only thing I think that would make it even better would be to have a couple cocktails like a martini or a Manhattan for people that don't like beer or wine. Otherwise definitely going to hit it again next time we're in town!!

The food at Pasta Vino was pretty good - their ciabatta was incredible. The atmosphere is fun and the location is great. The service was the worst I have experienced in a long time, maybe ever. We arrived a few minutes after opening with 5 other tables. We were a group of 6. Every other table got their drinks and bread before we were ever helped - we ended up having to ask for help which only seemed to annoy the waitress. Once ordered we waited nearly an hour for our food - 4 of the 5 tables that arrived with us were finished and gone before we got our food and one of them commented on it on the way out. This was quite shocking based on other reviews, and the experience the other guests had at the restaurant that night, but our experience was not good.

The service was amazing and so was the food! Lovely little family owned spot. Pasta was fresh and not overcooked. The carbonara was creamy but not too rich and the chicken on top was so crispy and tasty! Will return next time I'm in sister bay!

Stopped in looking for a break from bar food and was not disappointed. My dad and I had the bolognese ravioli & veal piccata with Cesar salads and wine. Both mains were excellent - we had to ask for extra bread so we didn’t miss a drop of sauce! As always what sets a good restaurant apart from a great one is the service - Joel our waiter knew his stuff, and provided lots of laughs and good banter. Amanda and her team are doing an amazing job here - what an awesome spot!

Extremely attentive and professional staff.
Lovely meal with a fairly small menu that they do very well.
I would say it's overpriced, but after trying the quality and enjoying the staff, I believe it's pretty fairly priced.
I would recommend going here for a nicer meal.
Slightly cramped dining area, it could do with a table or two removed to give a less claustrophobic feeling.
High quality ingredients made the meal all the more worth it.

I was doing the Door County bicycle ride with Pedal Across Wisconsin this September 2024, and we stayed for 3 nights in Sister Bay. I discovered Pasta Vino on my first night and couldn't imagine dining anywhere else in Sister Bay after that first experience. I ended up having dinner there 3 nights in a row. The pasta and bread are made fresh every day. The bread is delivered with olive oil, pesto, and garlic to dip the bread in. The wine list is reasonable and delicious. I had the white fish prepared differently every night with the special house salad that was created with care and not just thrown together. If you are in Sister Bay for one night, you need to eat at this restaurant. If you are there for more than one night, after eating there once, you will think, "Why? ...... would I eat anywhere else." ENJOY!

We stopped here on our way back from Washington island looking for something a little different than the usual bread cheese and white fish have been having all weekend. This place really hit the mark. We had a nice starter of caprese And muscles and they were amazing. The service was very friendly. The family run. Business atmosphere is absolutely a part of the fiber of this place.. My husband ordered the sausage and peppers a classic Italian that was really great.I had the Barada and it was very filling and also super happy with their seasonal salad for the end of summer.Definitely recommend this place. It is amazing it's definitely worth the staff when and sister bay.

First Italian fine dining experience in Door County on our 3rd DC visit and truly one of the best experiences we've had among Italian fare in general.

Clean welcoming atmosphere away from the busy business district of Sister Bay boasts a menu with great apps, entrees and a fine wine & spirits list.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and our server Bugs/Bugz who was down-to-earth friendly did an outstanding job tending to our needs.

After we were done eating, my wife & I agreed we'll come back again when visiting the county. Definitely one of the best fine dining options in Door County and I hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).

We were not "wowed" by this place. It was ok, but we are capable cooks and we have cooked more impressive meals at home. We got al dente pasta with pesto and lemon, and a piece of whitefish that was firm and fishy. I was looking for more chewiness and richness from the pasta. We got one roll with oil, and the wine was ice cold and I had to warm it up myself to open it up. The menu was average, and the Italian wedding soup broth was salty to me. It would have been nice, at $30 for a plate, to have had some vegetables with this, such as asparagus.

Update: We enjoyed another very satisfying experience at Pasta Vino last weekend. After a big Thanksgiving meal we weren’t sure we would be ready for dining out, but we did anyway as we really enjoy this restaurant. Definitely the BEST bruschetta I have ever tasted. Wow! The spaghetti & meatballs, the chicken parm and the veal Gorgonzola did not disappoint! Thanks to the kind staff for a wonderful evening once again.

My first visit to Pasta Vino and it won't be my last! We had an amazing meal. The story goes like this. We began with warm ciabatta dipped in a combo of olive oil and the house's special seasoning. Divine. My meal with chicken parmigiana and was fantastic. Others enjoyed shrimp with risotto, spicy sausage and peppers with cheese ravioli and chicken carbonara. Everyone was pleased. We finished our meal with caramel chocolate Sunday and a seasonal pumpkin dessert. No regrets. The service was on pointe and the wine delicious. Casually comfortable setting with perfect lighting and ambience. Highly recommend Pasta Vino!

We've been going to Pasta Vino for a number of years now. The chef and the waitstaff are exemplary. It must also be a good place to work, as most of the staff have been there quite a few years. We're greeted as old friends when we walk in.

The special they were offering the night we went was Lasagna, with a twist. They used a spinach based pasta instead of a wheat based one. It wasn't the same old, same old Lasagna you get everywhere else. It was a real delite to eat! My wife's meal was excellent, as well.

Oh. don't forget to try the Italian Wedding soup.! Most wedding soups I had elsewhere are nothing more than an overtly salty broth with tasteless meatballs. Not here. It is a rich, flavorful broth with tasty meatballs. My wife and I get every time we come.

Good food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff, what more could you ask for?

We ate here last night and thought everything we had was fantastic! I had the carbonara without chicken and they added grilled portabella mushrooms, which were delicious. My husband had the veggie pappardelle which was really good, the mozzarella balls were cold but I think that’s what you get with fresh mozzarella. You could tell the chef cared given the presentation and taste. The salads were good and then we finished it off with little cannoli bites and decaf coffee. Can’t wait to come back!

I really like Pasta Vino. I’ve been there a few times now. I just don’t want them to rush the food out as much. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT RUSH THE FOOD. GOOD CUSTOMERS WAIT FOR GOOD FOOD. The noodles were a little too under cooked (too firm) and the shrimp was on the edge of cooked. The muscles and linguini (too firm as well) the muscles were excellent though, one was not open when I got it, but I’d say that’s error worthy though, it’s hard to track a bunch of black thingies in a dark pan. The dish was a bit on the salty side. Maybe don’t add too much salt if you guys are using salted butter, but I’m not gonna sit here and drag. They did well for being ambushed by 6 tables at once during open. Just season a bit more, hold a little salt and butter. They’d get a 100% from me other wise. Excellent service and the atmosphere was very soothing despite being almost filled to the brim.

A small family style restaurant. Not a big menu, but the food is freshly prepared and delicious. The wait staff is very attentive. The kitchen is slow because it's just two people who prepare each dish carefully, and they pay careful attention to special requests.
I had the Ravioli, which was excellent, although I found the portion of 5 pieces quite disappointing for the price. A bit hard to find... It's behind the Churchill Inn...
Highly recommend.

Scrolling back through the reviews you will come across a few rather demonstrative 1 star experiences. Maybe those things happened, maybe there were some start up jitters, maybe some folks are just 1 star about everything they come across... Our experience was quite the opposite! It was super fantastic and extra awesome!

We were welcomed by a fun and engaging crew and quicky introduced to our waitress "Bugs". She is a lovely young lady with an equally lovely spirit that knows her way around the kitchen. Her passion for the food shines through!

We started off with the Italian pale lager Peroni. I don't often drink Italian beer, but when I do it's Peroni! Served appropriately chilled in accommodating pilsner. Others would follow. At Bug's recommendation we also tried the Soave wine. Soave is a dry white Italian wine from the Veneto region in northeast Italy, principally around the city of Verona. It was wonderful! I wish we would have got the info on the winery. They did not skimp on the pour, and I noticed the other guests benedited from very nice pours as well. A heavy hand on the wine bottle is always appreciated! Fresh, warm bread was delivered with the drinks. The obligatory "Italian butter" joined along, but this was not the Parm ladden typical stuff. It was light and smooth OO with a touch of Italian spice laced through. It was perfect!

The appetizer of choice was the Burrata. It was fantabulous! The cheese looks like mozz', but it's hiding a secret. The outside is a mozz' shell but the inside is a decadent and creamy white cheese delight! Combined with roasted cherry toms, basil, a splash bals vin, and perfectly toasted crostini! Sometimes the dish is served oven roasted, this was served just above chilled. It didn't take away from the flavors, but I think I preferred the toms fresh from roasting, and the cheese a tad melty. None the less itwas still absolute wondeful. A great start indeed!

A groovy Italian wedding soup followed. Hardy and spicy with two perfect meatballs! Turkey and Italian sausage I believe. Loved it! A ceasar accompanied the soup. Crisp lettuce, a delish homemade Parm cruton, and a savory dressing with a surprising hint of sweetness. It could turn some off looking for the salty, earthy anchovy kick, but we both loved it and like the soup it rapidly disappeared!

We could have tapped out here, but the main dishes quickly followed. First up was Veal Picatta on bed of just right linguine. A bright, light lemonly sauce with a splash of salty capers complimented the perfectly done veal. I rarely order veal, but am so glad I did! A 5 star classic for sure! Across the table an amazing lasagne Bolognese was delivered. Oh my goodness, this enormously portioned dish was supererb! Spinach noodles, light aromatic sauce, incredible Italian sausage! It was a northern Italian delight with a touch of Macedonian home cooking tossed in. Franky one of the best lasagnes we've had.

This truly should have been the last course, but Bug's persuasive ways drew us in to close with a homemade gelato laced with chocolate truffles. By "laced", I mean nearly every bite! What a decadent finish to a perfect meal!

The food tonight was briming with a heartfelt, homemade goodness that can't be beat! Everything was great! Yet the real joy was that it all paled compared to the vibrant spirit of Bug's. She's bomb... I swear I'm not related, but I am out of adjectives! Just go and enjoy. I hope it's a wonderful for you as it was for us!

Look no further, this is the Door County restaurant you've been looking for! It's not on the main drag but definitely worth searching out. We arrived at 5:30 and were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Food was over the top, delicious, made to order and reasonably priced considering that a chef in the kitchen prepared your entrée from scratch. Warm bread, salad served in a chilled bowl, or hot homemade soup which my husband enjoyed - Italian wedding soup. I had the shrimp scampi - large shrimp cooked to perfection served over linguine topped with freshly grated parmesan,my husband had the ravioli bolognese. He loved it! We ordered the tiramisu and the lemon merengue pie. All fantastic! Go there, you won't be disappointed!

What used to be one of our favorite Italian places is no more! I'll start with the salads. Wilted lettuce underneath & the bacon was soggy & looked uncooked. The dressing was almost absent. Then the spaghetti & meatballs were horrible. The meatballs were ok but very garlicy & lots of fillers but the spaghetti was like eating paste & literally stuck together in a ball. The sauce was watery & tasted like i opened a spaghettio can. When we complained to our waiter who looked very unkempt & had rips in his shirt & stomach hanging out he didn't say anything & handed us the bill. Then I said more to him that I was very unhappy with my meal & hungry he brought the manager over & he took half off my dinner not the whole meal as he said I ate part of the salad & bread. Upon reading other reviews I'm glad I got that or that we didn't get sick. What was once a favorite is no more. Will not return!

Please, save your money! The most tasteless Italian food I've ever eaten, and horribly overpriced, even for Door County! I should've figured it wouldn't be good when we walked in and there was no smell, not even a hint of garlic. We started with the bruschetta, thankfully, because it was actually really good, and the only reason the restaurant gets 1 star. Husband had the veal gorgonzola, which consisted of 1 small and very thin slice of veal and 3 ravioli in a pretty tasteless cream sauce. I had the pappardle caprese which consisted of approximately 10 noodles swimming in the most bland sauce I've ever had. I found exactly 1 tiny piece of tomato in it, not good at all. Honestly, Pizza Hut has better food! I was really looking forward to eating here, but learned a $100 lesson. We will never come back and would never recommend this restaurant.

OH MY GOSH. If I could give this place ten stars I would. This is the absolute epitome of what the hospitality industry strives to be. Not only was the food excellent, the service just took our experience to a whole other level. We left our dinner tonight with humongous smiles on our faces feeling like we just saw old friends. We dined outside and had Bugs as our server. She was helpful, friendly, and her timing was precise. The owner Amanda and her husband were so engaged in the process, too, and they truly made our experience unforgettable. The only thing I’m mad at is that I don’t live closer so I can come here at least twice a week. This is the BEST place for a quality meal in a beautiful setting- hands down. Door County is lucky to have Pasta Vino!!

My family and I frequent door county every summer and we like to try new things. This restaurant is hidden away for a reason. The food was so bad my grandma threw up after we left and my aunt was gaging in the parking lot. I am being 100% truthful. Service and Appetizer were okay but food was unimaginably bad. All together we tried four different dishes. The chicken seemed to raw, the noodles were clumped together and badly cooked, and the sauce was bland. As I write this, my family is taking tums and feeling sick at the hotel. All four dishes were returned to kitchen. Literally the worst food I've ever had. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Despite our bad experience, this place does not seem to handle constructive criticism. After getting sick, we called out of concern about food safety was meet with a condescending and angry attitude. If it was pictures of the puke that you needed in order to answer us with kindness and understanding, we would’ve been more than happy to show you. Do better.

Pretty much uneatable. I went with four stars because we have dined there other times and the food was good. Be it in the soup or on the pasta I would suggest staying away from the meatballs.

Our waiter was not friendly at all (male waiter). Although the ravioli was absolutely delicious, the portion size was unreasonably small. I was served 4-5 ravioli and left feeling hungry still. This is such a cute place that has so much potential, but it does need to offer larger portion sizes, especially for the price.

Only positive I could say is they had nice wine. Server was very polite. Prepare to wait as the kitchen is not ready. Served us 2 pasta entrees with pasta overwhelmingly overcooked. Took both our plates away and gave us the bill....Hilarious, but they are dead to us!

I never leave restaurant reviews but this a great experience! Everything we order from the bruschetta to each of our meals was the best we ever tasted! I was afraid my Chicken Alfredo would be plain but it was super flavorful. The only slight disappointment was no cocktails - only wine and beer offered

My scallop special smelled and tasted like ammonia. Any chef would know these were bad. Owner said he didn’t smell anything wrong but didn’t taste them. He would not compensate me at all. Charged me full price! ($38) I only ate 1 of the four and was sick for 2 days. Do not eat here!!!

Recommended by a friend and glad we dined there. We found out they had just reopened about a week ago after being closed for a couple of years so I'm sure they're still working some kinks out but we were quite satisfied and would love to go back. We started with the bruschetta (pic) which was a perfect start to our meal even after the bread, herbs and oil that had already been provided. For our entrees she had the chicken parmigiana (pic) and I had the linguini with clams (pic) and we each got the house salad. If I had to pick on something we thought they went a little too far down the base of the romaine for our taste but that's probably being a little picky. I'm glad I had two pieces of bread left over from what was served prior to our meal. Good for getting every drop from my dish. We agreed that we were both quite pleased with that course. Finally, I had a raspberry sorbet and we shared a chocolate and cherry bread pudding (pic is missing a couple bites, we couldn't wait) that was served as a huge portion and quite frankly, the best either of us had ever had. We also thought that the price for the meal was quite reasonable at $76.15 including tax before tip. Service throughout our experience was excellent. Actually wish I could give a 4.5 star rating but I have to choose 4 or 5.

We've enjoyed Pasta Vino for many years in a couple different locations in Door County. If ownership has changed, I understand the poor quality of food we ate tonight. If ownership has not changed and these are the same owners of Chop and Lure, what happened? The lettuce was brown.

This was to go. Seriously - $13.95 each for the salads in the picture? One order of spaghetti and meatballs, one order of Chicken Parmigiano. Total bill (this was take out) - $81.00! We dine out often. We know prices are high. We've always enjoyed Pasta Vino, but, for what we received and the price - never again.

The service was subpar, I ordered manicotti and got ravioli ... then they apologized and said they would cook my manicotti right away.... I got a hard sponge on a plate that was barely edible. Would not recommend to those trying to find an authentic Italian restaurant. Gave it a 1 star because the wine was amazing!
