I've gotten delicious food here before, but today I found some bottles of wine I've been searching for AND truly amazing macarons. Two thumbs way up. Here's hoping the macarons are a staple, because they were cherry and they were delicious.

The ham and Gruyère sandwich was okay, but subpar for the price. For $10 for just the sandwich, I was expecting something larger too. The ciabatta used was not great (dry and soft) and it would’ve tasted better if they used a baguette—and been more authentic to the baguette au jambon vibe they’re going for.

For my mom’s Birthday we got a table for “the chef, the baker and the pasta maker”— a special dinner at Pasture and Plenty. Not only was the service and atmosphere impeccable, but the food was divine. Christy and her team were thoughtful, helpful and accommodating. It was delicious and magnificent! It was the perfect celebratory meal.

The food is extremely overpriced for the lack of quality and the portions are minuscule. We often come here for donuts but have been consistently disappointed upon ordering coffee drinks. The baristas take like fifteen minutes to make a simple drink even while there is no one else there and when we finally get our drinks they are lukewarm and often made incorrectly. The chai latte is the worst I have ever had and while I specified oat milk, it was most certainly made with dairy milk. I was also given a nauseatingly saccharine vanilla latte on one occasion in place of the oat milk latte I ordered.

My husband and I just had the most amazing meal here for brunch. I had the chicken caeser wrap and it was chock full of kale. They somehow managed to balance all the flavors by creating a healthy wrap! It was served with a lightly dressed salad. My husband got the chorizo biscuits and gravy with smashed potatoes. Those were perfect! How did they get that light crispiness in there? I got the sea salt caramel brownie which was deliciously fudgy. My husband got the gluten free chocolate tart and it was spot on! The refresher drink I had was fantastic. It had a nice balance of sweetness and herbal. It kind of reminded me of a fresh strawberry daiquiri that wasn't cloyingly sweet. I really love that they have a meal kit plan. I wish we lived closer! Oh and it was so nice of them to let us inside when it's cold. We hadn't realized we were a few minutes early. We respected that they still were setting up and didn't try to make them serve us before they technically open. I have a new favorite place! These guys have plenty of great tasting options to fit many diets out there! Something about this place reminded me of the magic Bushnell's Turtle of Iowa City Iowa used to have. Maybe it's the fact that it feels upscale but in a non-pretentious and very positive way. If I could give them more stars, I would!

A lovely space and awesome business! I came in on a Monday afternoon not realizing that they are not open for table service at this time and primarily distributing their take-home meals, but they allowed me and my friend to sit at the tables still with some tea and delicious blueberry lavender hand pies. Really unique pastries and beautiful mugs, lovely staff!

I grabbed a lunch to-go from the kitchen last week but came away disappointed. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant (warmed up) & a stone fruit smoothie. Cost was no-par with what you'd expect to pay at such an establishment, but the first drink and bite were nearly intolerable.
The croissant was toasted, but the chicken was lukewarm and there were just a few shriveled greens. It was a tasty sandwich but felt skimpy for the price.
The smoothie had gristle that I pulled out after each sip. It felt like sand but looked like a pulverized cherry pit. I couldn't drink more than few sips as I was unprepared for that kind of bowel cleanse.
I really wanted to like everything but I'll be moving on to the next spots on my list to check out when I'm in town. To their credit there is a wide range of other items, including take-home meals.

Friday Fish fry is so good here! I absolutely love the cornmeal breaded smelt and perch. Even the picky eaters (under the age of 5) at my table request and devour it. Best backyard picnic of the year was P+P fish fry and a cold bottle of wine from their case-the Force Celeste Semillon from Mother Rock, which was seriously the perfect white wine for fish fry (crispy potatoes and slaw, please). Keep on cooking up the good stuff!

I have ordered meals from Pasture and Plenty in the past and love their veggie and local selections. However, I planned to meet my mom for brunch there this morning and we stood at the counter waiting for 5 minutes and eventually asked a woman who was making drinks if we could have a menu and she informed us they weren’t doing brunch. Online and even the signs inside the store and outside on the chalkboard said brunch was 9-1. We planned our day around this and nowhere was it mentioned there wouldn’t be brunch. Not only did this happen, but no one greeted us when we came in and the place was nearly empty. The vibe was off and we were really disappointed. We luckily had an amazing brunch elsewhere but we won’t be coming back here. I would make sure to call before you come here as they don’t update their website or signage.

Move over Stella's, there's a new cheese bread in town.

My wife and I each bought a fresh beer and cheese roll the other day. We each took a bite, paused, looked at each other and said "Wow" (mouths full and everything). If it's not better than Stella's it's as least as good, which is saying a lot. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

As for the rest of the restaurant, the staff is super friendly and ready with suggestions and recommendations. The restaurant itself it bright and airy, and all-around inviting. One of those establishments you're proud to have in your city.

What a cool place with the most interesting and delicious things! The last time I had alfajores was in Argentina, and they had Christmas alfajores here! Wow!

We picked up an Edible Madison charcuterie box for an online workshop they are offering and it was So Worth the $25 cost - an amazing amount of local cheeses, salamis, crackers, jams, fruit, nuts, garnishes - just superb!

The people that work here are really nice too. So looking forward to the workshop and to returning here for brunch and more good stuff.

Haven't had a chance to try the dinners yet, but from what I've had for breakfast & brunch, I'm sure that food is delicious as well. Tasty coffee and pastries available if you're looking for something to-go, and delicious brunch plates if you're lingering for a while. Haven't had a bad dish here!

They also have brunch cocktails and beer on tap, in addition to selling beer & wine to go. A great neighborhood spot.

Disappointing hours.. not sure how they actually make any money. The open hours suggest they only really cater to the hospital crowd, which means a waste of valuable retail space for locals really. Sad.. this sort of business practice just kills local retail. I probably won’t be returning here.

Food: Delicious. Personally, I’ve never had a bad meal from Pasture and Plenty (P&P). Their food is made with care and creativity, and always presented in a way that reminds us “our eyes eat first.” Their mantra is “farm to table,” and I’ve never doubted this.

I should mention, however, that P&P hasn’t been the most consistent when it comes food prep. Over time, friends and I have ordered several of our favorite foods that will have the same price but won’t always include the same combination of foods/ingredients. For example, I’ve ordered the toast and sunflower butter at least 3 different times and every single time, it has been different - despite having paid the same price (~$4). It has come with different breads, or has come with salad, or has come in the form or a sunflower butter sandwich with salad on the side. They’ve all tasted great, but it’s a bit odd knowing that what I order might not be predictable.

Atmosphere: Crisp and refreshing, with white walls, beautifully tiled floors and a flawless gestalt of ceramics. Honesty, my favorite part of the place is how their plates, cups, and other ceramics help their food to be visually satisfying.

Staff: The staff have been friendly with me at every encounter - except one. A group of friends and I met on a Saturday morning at P&P where we wanted to grab brunch and play some cards. There were 5 of us and we all ordered full plates + drinks/snacks. We spent ~2 hours at P&P while playing cards, eating and enjoying each other’s company. However, one of the staff members asked us to leave 3 times. I don’t recall our group being too loud, aggressive or distracting. It was very off-putting, especially given that we had been there several times in the past, and have done the same thing - cards at brunch. Ever since, I’ve felt somewhat unwelcome, like they shunned our group of repeat customers.

Conclusion: The food tastes and looks great. However, keep in mind that although you might be paying for the same meal at recurrent encounters, they’ll differ noticeably over time.

Outstanding walleye (pan fried with cornmeal) and fried smelt for Friday fish fry and all of the side dishes are fresh, balanced and healthy. Went for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food! The Eggs Benedict was very tasty and I loved the fresh side salad.
You order at the counter from the menu. They give you a number and bring your food to you. All of the farmers and purveyors they source from are kindly listed on a board above the counter. There are a number of sweets available to satisfy your sweet tooth.
On your way out pick a fresh frozen meal to go. So many to choose from and made right on sight!
Definitely a place to try!

Words cannot express how much I am in love with this establishment--let me count the ways:
1. Delicious local fresh farm-to-table foods paired creatively to please both the healthy AND the hearty eater.
2. Fridges FULL of pre prepped meals for 2 (or more) ready to cook. Prices run ~$9 per serving--comparable to the standard delivery meal prep companies like Blue Apron.
3. Sustainable kitchen utensils and cleaning materials for sale to save you time and reduce waste--the beeswax reusable wraps are better priced than Amazon!
4. The environment is bright, friendly, tastefully decorated and encourages community mingling: sit at a community table or a seat off to the side.
5. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Madison has always been accommodating for food intolerances but this restaurant makes it so easy to find something for everyone.
6. Classes and events: local space with Friday night fish fry, cooking classes in their demo kitchen in the back and even a drag brunch coming up August 17th!! Coming from NYC this makes me smile to see.
7. Collaboration with other local businesses: there are close to a visible dozen different contributions from various local entrepreneurs all supporting each other.

If you can make it there for a full meal, look into their delivery meals option!

Must try: chia seed pudding is perfect we'll rounded snack or breakfast, egg sandwich with red pepper jam will have you coming back for a second, and their french toast doesn't even need syrup--so light and fluffy you don't feel overly full afterwards!

Popped into this cute little corner eatery for a quick bite to eat after spending the morning at UW Hospital. WOW! The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was excellent. There were several unique lunch items offered the day I visited. I picked the Grain bowl (quinoa, spinach, asparagus, radish, egg), my friend picked the ham sandwich (served on a delicious crusty bun with mustard and cheese-no shortage of ham) from the cold case. Both of our choices were delicious. They have a nice variety of beverages (hot coffee, tea, wine, various waters etc.) They also have a cold case with frozen soups, pot pies, veggie lasagne and more to “take home”. There were vegan options on the menu as well as gluten free bakery items. If I lived in Madison I would be a frequent flyer at Pasture and Plenty.

Great atmosphere inside, the lunch menu is awesome, the Wednesday dinners are a wonderful break from cooking (as are many of the frozen meals), and now they're selling some of our favorite baked goods from Tart too! PS, don't miss the ice cream sandwiches...yummm.

Two bad staff interactions on two separate trips.

This place is so calming and pleasant inside! And it's full of so many exciting goodies! The bathrooms are gender neutral. They compost and use almost all reusables (except for plastic straws, bummer). In the end, I didn't love my grain bowl. It was... mushy, I guess, and the flavor was only ok. But, I will be back to try some other dishes for certain.

Stopped in with my boy for a mid afternoon meal. He got a ham and gruyère sandwich which was simple but solid. I got the pork sammie, which was tasty but spicier than I expected. The onion rings were also fantastic but the sauce also a bit spicy for us. And the chai was great too. I didn’t expect it would come unsweetened since super-sugary chai is so ubiquitous, but it’s great to have the option to hold the sugar.
Service was excellent. The place had lots of available seating at 2:30 on a Thursday. I plan to come back!

Really nice food, nice environment. Fresh and frozen food selection is really good.

We did a pasta making class that was fantastic! Christy showed us how to make three pastas and three sauces, all of which we loved. (The kale and hickory nut pesto has already entered the rotation at home.)

Oh, Pasture & Plenty, how I love thee!

We hosted a gathering for 20 in P & P's new and gorgeously renovated space, and it was absolutely perfect. No detail was overlooked, and we could not be happier with the results.

Here are some of my favorite things:
- the FOOD
- the stoneware place settings, wooden serving bowls, & cotton napkins (really, all of the table fixings are lovely)
- P & P's cooperation with local vendors (if they don't already feature it, they will find it)
- the attention to detail & creative flair
- the kindness & professionalism shown by Kristi & her team
- It bears repeating - the fresh & tasty FOOD!

My expectations for this gathering were high, and Pasture & Plenty surpassed them in every way. Thank you, P & P, for creating a delicious & memorable evening!
