We stopped for lunch yesterday. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The chips and salsa were great. The service was excellent. The margaritas were a little disappointing. They had kind of a sweet, creamy taste, which was unexpected. They were about $11 each for the regular sized margaritas, which seemed expensive. I would recommend eating at Pedro's and skipping the margaritas.

We asked for some salsa that was a bit hotter for our chips. Our waitress brought us 2 options. 1 was from dried peppers and 1 was from fresh made Jalapeños. Both were fantastic. The staff was great!

I’m giving this place a 5* review because we have eaten Mexican food in every restaurant in Tucson, AZ. Tucson is the only city in America to receive a UNESCO Gastronomy award for Mexican food. Pedro's has great Mexican food - Minnesota style. Cheese sauce is used on many of their dishes. I haven't experienced this method of cooking in the western or southern parts of the US or in Mexico. It's very enjoyable, albeit not authentic. Pedro's is a Duluth/Superior staple for good reason.

We have given this place multiple tries and been disappointed every time. The service is a joke. No communication. The past two times we weren't even aware who are actual server was because from the time we were sat until the we left we had four different faces. We're never checked on or asked how our meal is going. Getting a refill is impossible. And we've been there when it's busy or slow. Either way we've never had a good experience with the service here. And then this last time we learned our server woman was one of the owners... It's just not worth giving it another shot anymore.

Was at the restaurant itself this night and was greeted by two customers staring at us which freaked me and my uncle out. Along that we sat down, had a server serve us the tortilla chips along with the salsa. Asked how her night was going, and then refused to respond. Our server Norme De was respectful to me, but was extremely rude towards my uncle. Stating that when we were relaxing for a minute after the meal finishing our beverages “I need money” she told him. Proceeds to say thank you to me, but not to my uncle who was also there. This experience was very piss poor.

Took my 18 month old child, parents and wife for a delicious meal at Pedros.

Our server was super chill, and suggested good drinks. I had the texas fajitas and I ate every bite. I was full before I finished but I enjoy a fit of gluttony when the flavor is there. My wife enjoyed the arroz con Pollo which was delicious. My sometimes picky son had a quesadilla and beans. He wore a lot but ate a lot too.
When we first tried the salsa, I let the little dude try some. He almost threw his little hand paint toy on the floor to attack that salsa.
Overall, I am impressed with the flavor and would over eat here again.

I've always been an adoring fan of Pedros. A staple for date night.
About a month ago, my spouse and I ordered a to-go order. We called in our order on this particular day because the online ordering system was down (1/31/25) So we picked up our order, paid with a card and left a $15 tip (45%!!) and headed home.
We ordered our usual order - El Tri, Barria Tacos w/ cheese & a side of queso.
When opened up our order I was immediately disappointed to find they had left out the salsa for the chips, no limes for my tacos as requested and they also forgot the consumè for my tacos- it's NOT the same without it. That's half the order. You get 3 tacos and the sauce. Now what? So we should grumbled to one another before my husband made the call. The lady on the other end said she would take down our name and next time we came in we would get 1 entree free with the purchase of another. Fair enough. So fast forward to this evening, it's my husband's birthday. We thought Pedros sounded good so we called in our order since we had this free entree. We called, explained the situation, they "looked us up" and found nothing. Said instead and because it was "only an error of missing the sauces" they could give us a discount of $5-$10. We went back and fourth with them about how that isn't what they told us then but they were not budging. We place the order anyway. We pick up the order. Only $5 taken off our total which was essentially ONLY the tax because the food itself was the total we paid. No tip left this time.
I was really disappointed to have a disappointing order once (for a second time but we brushed it off the one time thinking everyone makes mistakes) but then for them to basically brush us off, not stick to their word and 'lose' our information, that was enough for me. We got the food home tonight and I didn't even want it after that interaction. We used to love pedros but they did nothing to correct their error so we won't be back. Distasteful of the staff!

Update: I had to bump it down from 5 stars. We frequently ate at the cloquet location as it was our favorite restraunt, and their quality is always very high.

But the last 2 times we have gone to the superior location, however, I have gotten sick. I really want to like this new location, but it is very challenging if sanitation / quality isn't up to standards.

I have been pleasantly surprised every time I go here. The food and staff are consistent and kind. Went to dinner on a tuesday and it was moderately busy, have been here when it was busier and have had better service. We got seated immediately and waited about 15 minutes to put an order in(not bad at all). Got cold queso (that has never been a problem any other time we've had it here). Asked to have the cheese warmed up and it came out warmish. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said this is how it is here, so do you want it, my reply "not if it isnt going to get any more warmed up". We asked about the tacos and what came on them but those came out wrong after an hour of waiting for tacos on Taco Tuesday, the wait is the least of the issues here tonight. We have been here many times and loved it the first couple times but now the quality of food and service is suffering.

Ordered online went into pick it up, was told it would be right out and waited 10 minutes. Then was asked if I order from Cloquet, I did not. Then they try to find my order, waitress found it but didn't get to the kitchen? At the end it was a "it will only take 5 minutes if you want it" we wanted it when we ordered it not waited 55 minutes for food we didn't even get. Will never return. Always something wrong with our order. Food is great but the continuous errors and now with an error big enough to result in no food just sealed the deal.

We have been to Pedro's in Cloquet and have never been disappointed. We decided to try their new Pedro's in Superior and they are definitely at the same level as the Cloquet restaurant. Hands down the flaming fajitas, Birria tacos & cali burrito are Chingon - the best out of any restaurant in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin ive been to so far.... (I used to live in the Southwest / West so,, I know mexican food. Authentic is a different matter but, Let's stick to the grit)..

The service is great, everyone is prompt. Refills never left me parched, They know our orders by Corizon, Overall its better than Cloquet restaurant....

Could use more colors overall like Guadalahara or Margaritas in Denfeld But, its not bad at all... FAR BETTER THAN THE "EPIC" FAIL that was there before.....

We had dinner here last night and left pretty disappointed. Our server must have been having a bad night (I would hope shes not like this everyday.) No smile to greet us, seemed more annoyed she had to serve us. Service was a little slow, but I can deal with that. We ordered an app along with our dinner. App comes out and 2 minutes later our food came. The app was terrible. Some guacamole with homemade pork rinds that were barely chewable. We barely touched it. She never asked us how it was, when clearly we did not like it. My fiance got tacos & i got enchiladas. We ate them somewhat, because we were starving. My fiance ended up being sick all night long. Food & Service were superb! Finding the restaurant was a bit tricky. It’s set back off the Main Street. So Google kept googling us in around in circles. The sign is black as well as the building, which did not help! It blended in. lol- we did eventually find it. I ordered what I believed to be beans and chips. I was charged the same as a meal, that comes with a side of beans & chips. The portion was equivalent to a small side, no where near “meal” proportions. The beans were like a soup, & the chips were as expected! I was better off probably ordering a meal & settling for the side bean & chip.
