We stopped in on Saturday 9/13 for supper around 4:30 pm stood at the front counter waiting 5 min. No one came to seat us Finally got someone's attention and the waitress complained she was the only waitress the other one called in sick but she really is not sick. Waitress more or less told us not to come in. Turned our party of 3 away. And complained that she had to take orders and clean tables. Stated she was stressed out. We had the BEST experience at Perkins in Black River Falls! Kayla was our server, and she was absolutely amazing! So sweet, so friendly, and her bubbly personality just lit up the room. She made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

Overall, my experience was decent. I called to place a Togo order because I wanted my burger cooked well done. I went into get my food. I almost wanted a piece of pie. Then I saw the flies in the pie and muffin holder. I almost walked out instantly, but just had to hope that my food was not left out for flies to land on. Got back to my truck and took the burger apart to make sure everything was in order. It was perfect. Started eating and it was good, but then let my thoughts get the best of me. Ended up not finishing the burger. If there were no flies, I would have enjoyed my meal and they'd have a 5 stars for everything.

I normally don’t write bad reviews because I get everyone is human and stuff happens but, the waitress we had forgot to bring us our drinks. Her coworker did after we got our food, he also brought us our condiments because they weren’t given to us when we got our food. She came to give us our drinks after we were almost done with our food, and she didn’t check up on us or anything. After waiting a while we didn’t get our check so we went up to the front and got it that way. I got the 7 for 6.99. It was delicious, but I ended up getting food poisoning.

Overheard a customer complain next to me with positive solutions offered by staff with quick turnaround time. One waitress, whose Tshirt read: Same Soul, new attitude was literally outstanding. I’m a few days late on my review - went on this last Thursday (7/10).
I was hesitant that there would be limited seating options due to the dinner hour; but that wasn’t the case! They were able to accommodate us & I was grateful.
Have you ever had to try to feed a 4 year old that is hungry but won’t pay attention to anything other than the pies?

Anywho, get seated & our waitress right away. She is very attentive.
Patience of a saint with my child that will not decide what he wants to eat other than… you guessed it - pie. Yet, she had it!
She took our orders, brought our food, & then you guessed it - the kid got his pie.
All was right in the world.

In reality, if a server interacts with a child (even if they’re not my own) as if they’re their own child - they’re rock solid. To show that type of grace in this type of world we are living in?
The food could have been slow or cold & it wouldn’t have mattered (it wasn’t, but that’s not the point).
Showing kindness & compassion to a child in a field that runs your ragged & 100% doesNOT pay you enough - is a gift & should be noted.

I stopped in to place a Togo order. The waitress was new and she asked for help. The assisting waitress did everything but help her. I ordered 2 magnificent 7 and a muffin. Eggs over easy. All the eggs were undercooked and the bottom of the muffin was burnt. When I returned to pick up my food I had to wait another half hour. They hadn’t started my order. People were waiting to be seated while the waitresses in the kitchen were doing non necessary, like prepping coffee for the next day. One table got up and left without ordering and the staff could be heard chatting about it, like it wasn’t a big deal. Other than the original waitress who tried taking my order the service was terrible….even for a Togo order! I won’t return.

Walked in on a Monday at noon. At least 15 people waiting to be seated. Looked in the dining room and saw almost all tables were empty. No employees to be seen, I looked in the kitchen and saw 3 people to whom I said there at least 15 people out here waiting to be seated and a whole bunch of empty tables. (Kayla) waitress yelled back we are short staffed. I cant help but think if those people were just seated and the staff was out on the floor instead of in back, that problem would have solved itself. I was there last week as well and the service was polite but the food took forever to arrive, we ate our pie first and about a half hour later got the burgers and fries that were cold, hard and cooked to absolute death. It just sucks...save your money and go to McDonalds as the people there are nice, and it's a better chance of getting fresh food. This Monday I just chose to leave and went uptown to Gimmy's. Glad I did.

My family of 4 stopped here to enjoy a lunch after traveling, and I'm sorry to say it was just horrible. It was a Sunday afternoon, (not busy) the floor was filthy, the service was poor, our Hostess seemed annoyed that we ordered ice water with our $57 meal, the decaf was cold....
Sadly, we noticed they were cleaning the tables with a community rag and bucket.
This is not acceptable.

I saw the couple get six glasses of soda and then complained about the cost, demanding she take the cost of the sodas off the bill. Even the manager couldn't resolve the issue. I hope to eat there again soon. We both had breakfast for lunch and the pancakes were awesome.

It's very bland food in my opinion nothing no flavor to just about everything there the prices are steep for the quality and quantity. I wouldn't recommend.

Kayla is a very courteous and kind waitress and knows the menu very well. Hearing the great teamwork and wonderful work environment in the background also makes this and nice place to dine
