Mediocre bar food where everything is just heated up and premade or fried. Food order wasn’t correct but waitress took too long to come back so ate it as is. Seats are uncomfortable but the bathrooms have condoms from the health department in it 🫣😂

Was going to eat here for lunch but then confronted with a "cash only" sign on the front door. I understand that it is annoying for the owner of an establishment to have to eat the 3%or whatever it is that the credit card people charge you, but IMO in today's day and age, this is part of the price of doing business. This is especially true in a resort community where visitors might be hesitant to carry a bunch of cash on them for safety reasons. You can buy a soda or candy bar out of a machine now with a credit card. Sorry to say but if restaurants pull this nickel and some stuff, I just go somewhere else. The food might be good....I'll never know I guess.

The French fries were maybe recooked because they were brown, no potato left, they were cold by the time I drove two blocks to the nursing home. The fruit ordered was canned mixed fruit. Forced to purchase burger and a side, paid 90$ for this. Not worth the two block trip, nor the dollars spent.

Sunday before noon had very good service. Build your own bloody Mary was fun. Felt like we were treated well. Very big burger with a great set of toppings. Other party had a lobster toast melt and was very happy with it. A nice variety on the menu and great service. Highly recommend.

Phills Bar is a great small town bar where I am pretty sure everyone knows each other. I am sure it's a stop for out-of-town folks to stop in for one and done, however, their food was really great. Higher quality and cooking than most small bars. Don't let the atmosphere throw you. Enjoy a great burger or their shrimp special and a nice cold one.

Easily one of the best place to eat in Chetek. The broasted chicken is super juicy and flavorful. Just make sure to leave a little bit extra time because it takes 20 minutes to cook. Their Friday night fish fry is also a local staple. In addition, they have a lot of classic bar food like burgers and wings. Their daily specials are usually really good. I love the taco Tuesday special and the wing Wednesday special. Don’t forget to get the garlic Parmesan fries as your side.

We were staying in the area and got Phil’s for takeout. We ordered the broasted chicken, Phil’s burger, and Mac n cheese. It is was incredible. The chicken was so moist, perfect crunch, and level of saltiness. The regular fries and garlic Parmesan fries were amazing too!!! Oh and the coleslaw was very tasty. Highly recommend. Food was good but server? Not so much! I specifically asked for tonic water with lime, NO alcohol! Really thirsty so took a huge gulp. Very strong gin and tonic. I've been sober for nearly 9 years. It sucked! And she did not even offer an apology when that fact was brought to her attention. A friend contacted the owner, without my asking and owner was very apologetic. Hey, I get it, mistakes happen. But a simple apology would have gone a very long way.

I like the atmosphere at Phill's bar. I didn't care for the service or the food. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries.

The fries were ok, they were the kind of soggy home fries. They were hot and a little crisp at the end good enough to eat. Portions on FF were a little disappointing.

The bacon cheeseburger was nothing to write home about. Some kind of pressed frozen meat patty that didn't have the flavor of beef or even a hamburger really. Just a chunk of some kind of meat. Not really seasoned at all from what I could tell. There was a good amount of bacon, although not very good bacon. Then ware was the biggest let down of all. It was served on texas toast. No thanks.

I'll be back for a drink but there are better places to eat for a $10 burger and fries in Chetek.
