What a fun place and nice boat ride. Super friendly peeps. I didn't check in at the gift shop and didn't answer the phone call but they do a role call on the ship. It's a decent amount of seats and not crowded at all. They give lemonade and water, and pirate's booty for a snack on the ride. They also took a pic of our group afterwards and got the whole ship in the pic. We ranged from ages 11 to 80, and everyone loved it. It was ok for the 80 yr old to manage w/a cane. They have a tiki bar with yummy drinks. Outdoor games and hula hoops. Ice cream shop and food also. It also says pet friendly and saw lots of dogs but not sure if they would be allowed on board, so we left ours at our cabin so we had to get back. Wish we had more time to sit and just enjoy the area.

The first you notice are the beautiful flowers that line the walkways to the gift shop and the ice cream stand. Then you walk down the path to the Tiki Bar where you can have a drink before the cruise. Their oven fired pizzas are delicious. There are hula hoops, corn hole games and a large connect four game for the kids to enjoy while waiting. Captain Steve and his shipmate Caroline are Great hosts. They make the cruise very entertaining. The kids get to drive the pirate ship which they thoroughly enjoyed. The kids get free pirate bandanas and temporary tattoos. The cruise is fun for the entire family. If you are in Eagle River Wisconsin the Pirate Hideaway is an enjoyable destination for all ages. We will definitely visit it again! While little kiddos were treated to pirate's garb and sweet lemonade, us Big Kids brought on buckets of adult libations without being forced to "walk-the-plank" while being treated a fantastic tour of eagles' next spotting and hunting eagles in-flight, and a narration of Eagle River's history, logging purpose in the rebuilding of the Great Chicago Fire, insights on the several million-dollar vacation homes lining the shorelines of the lakes in-scope of this tour. We did a boat tour with a group of 7 (6 adults & 1 child) and had a fantastic time with Captain Steve! We learned a lot about the lakes, saw some eagles, and really appreciated that Steve and his assistant went above and beyond to make the experience entertaining and memorable for the kids on board. We were at Pirates hideaway like we always are and my boat died — bad battery. Steve (the owner) went and got a battery from his house. We got the boat started and I took his battery and cables with me to get home. This man goes out of his way to help you in any way he can. From great wood fired pizza, great drinks and great music…. My SIL and I decided to take a tour of the lakes. Capt Steve and his crew are great. They do an amazing job with the kids on board. If you have children, this is a must do while in Eagle River. The pirate ship tour is always a lot of fun. The crew make it an enjoyable experience providing commentary on things to see (eagle nests, otters ...) around the multiple lakes you tour. Some pirate snacks are provided. As this was a sunset cruise, we got to see a beautiful sunset over the lakes and also as it had rained briefly at the beginning of our trip there were rainbows. Seating is comfortable and everyone has the opportunity to move around the ship during the cruise. Going up to the top where the captain drives the ship is always fun as you can see more from that high vantage point and Captain Steve always accommodates the kids who want to drive the ship. Many times, there are hand drawn (temporary) tattoos done on kids by the pirate crew members. The ship ride is a very fun experience for kids and adults alike.

The wood fired oven pizzas are GREAT. A wide variety of options for people to choose from. The Best in the whole Northwoods area with top notch ingredients and a crust that is simply wonderful. Oh, and don't miss the ice cream stand on the upper deck of the shore facility above the music pavilion/tiki bar. LOTS of options and amazing sundaes. The "pirate/island" drink menu is fantastic. The bartenders are wonderful and clearly work hard to serve the many customers. Also, they have Live music 4 nights a week (FREE) that provides for a great evening with all the other amenities. Wide variety of music provided and always entertaining.

Lots of games for kids and adults to play out on the lawn area by the lake, and many tables for seating both in shade and in sun as desired. On some occasions they have a person with huge bubble maker and at least once or twice there is a real live mermaid, both of which the kids of all ages thoroughly enjoy.

Pirates Hideaway is simply a pirate's treasure in the Northwoods and something everyone can enjoy. We go multiple times in the summer and are never disappointed. We HIGHLY recommend a visit to see Captain Steve, Linda, Pirates Stevo and Jamie and all of their wonderful staff.

I can't say enough good things about our pirate ship cruise / adventure. Captain Steve is wonderful and so great with the kids. The captain's daughter is a wonderful tour guide. We all enjoyed the beautiful tour around the Lakes and the kids enjoyed playing pirate for the hour and a half boat ride.  Highly recommend.

We were having rain and they let us know we could get a refund or reschedule, but we ended up going and the weather was fine. We really enjoyed the ride, seeing sites and watching eagles. Since we do not own a boat, this was a way we could enjoy a boat ride with our guests visiting us. We will do it again - we had a nice time. The 9 year old got to pilot the ship for almost the entire trip. He was in heaven. The captain and crew, both on board and on shore, were friendly and made the boys' trip very memorable. I highly recommend you walk the plank!

Pirates hideaway is a great place that you can go to and have a lot of fun on certain nights they have live bands you can bring your kids even though they do serve liquor but they have pizza and hot dogs and mozzarella sticks and burgers to eat and the main attraction of course is the pirate ship Now if you want tickets I suggest you book them ahead of time as they only take so many people out on each cruise when we went there we had a private cruise and our private cruise was booked 10 months in advance so we had the exact night we wanted and the time and we took a sunset cruise so as we came back into the pirate's cove we got to see a beautiful sunset The lawns on the back leading out to the water have picnic tables and chairs and the kids run around and there's hula hoops at night they have people out there with light up hula hoops and different things that you can watch it's great again it's a place where both children and adults can have a good time

It was a very fun boat ride. They cater to children by handing out pirate bandanas and offer tattoos. Chips, water, and lemonade are served. We saw several eagles and a few nests.

Family friendly, laid back atmosphere with an amazing staff. We stop in whenever we are in the area and have been doing so for 5+ years. Tiki bar has a Caribbean vibe with a great drink selection. The kids enjoy the ice cream shop, yard games and the pirate ship. Truly something for everyone!

We took a boat ride 1 1/2 hour 35.00 a person would recommend buying tickets ahead of time. there is no entry fee. Nice place to hang out. Ice cream and pizza was awesome super friendly people highly recommend.

Went here with the kids in 2018 and reserved spots on the pirate ship cruise. Kids had a blast. We've tried to come back each year since for ice cream and drinks, and haven't been disappointed. It's still a great place, highly recommended. Very relaxing tiki bar on the shore and an excellent garden entrance. The ship still sets sail to plunder the river so buckle up.

Loved every minute of this pirate adventure! Very reasonably priced. The captain and crew were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The info was especially helpful for us coming from San Diego. The kiddos loved getting the bandana and tattoo! My pirate obsessed 5 year old was over the moon to meet the captain and show him his treasure map.
I had to stop at the tiki bar and try the Soggy Dollar (aka the BVI’s Painkiller). It was delicious and a perfect way to end the experience. Thanks so much for a fun and relaxing afternoon!
