It was our first time visiting and they made really good food. Fresh homemade chips, salsa and guacamole were delicious. It was a clean place being that it's a golf course club. The wait staff were nice but still sort of in training mode but other team members were helpful and services were smooth.
Full menu and bellies, worth it!
I was expecting a larger pulled Pork / barbacoa Chimichanga but it was still very nice.
Even portions, flavors ,colors, size, textures and temperatures and a full plate meant to be really well put together and enjoyed. Would visit again!

I rate Mexican restaurants all over the country, so I get technical. Short answer on Playa Vallarta is: lovely place, great service, great food. Took only 15 minutes for food to arrive on a busy Fri. night. Very tasty. Technicalities are: (1) chips and salsa are good but not "great" (can't tell if chips are freshly made on-site; they didn't seem that fresh. Salsa was cold as if from a fridge; not bad, but the "best" are freshly made and served at room temp). (2) Decor is nice, but not mexican style (except for a few sombreros). (3) The hard floor is pretty, but makes the place a little loud from voices. Don"t let the technicalities keep you away. Lovely place on the golf course with great food and great service.

I used to take my kids often on Fridays when this restaurant was located downtown. We frequent it less since it has moved out by the gold course. My take is the food was prepared better or with more care at the downtown location. My four star review stems from the fried ice cream we were served. Not sure what that was but it was not very good. The decor is very confusing, some parts seems latin, some seem like Florida, some seem modern. The place is quite clean but does not have a theme. I will eat there again but it's not my favorite Mexican Place. The prices were affordable compared to others in the area.

This restaurant is close to a 1 hour drive one way from our home in Milwaukee but it is worth every second on the road the food is the best I've ever had the drinks are outstanding the prices are so reasonable and service is remarkable we've gotten our food in under 10 minutes every time we've gone there and we've been there four times now I can't recommend this restaurant enough it is definitely one of our favorites

The chips n salsa lacked any sort of flavor and was just water. The nachos came with a thin, watery white sauce that added nothing, but made everything wet immediately. The meat itself tasted blander than the stuff I make at home with a seasoning packet. The burrito de la mesa had a lot of wet lettuce and large chunks of tomato thrown haphazardly on top. I'm not sure which sauce it was, but there was a lot of wetness on the plate- specifically by the beans and sour cream. There was no heat and not nearly enough flavor. The parrillada burrito also had no flavor nor spice. Even though it has "chipotle sauce" coated on it.

Better options in Jefferson county, let alone in Jefferson. Pick somewhere else to go.

As you walk in the restaurant a big sign states margaritas, buy one get one free - Mon,Wed, Thurs. We went on Thursday night.
We order the margaritas (one for each of us) and then our food. Food was served in a timely manner and the waiter stopped by within the first 10 minutes of our dinner to see how everything was. After that, never saw another staff member. We finally stopped someone to get a to-go box and then waited, and waited for our check. We proceeded to the cashier to see if she could get our bill which she printed out. I then noticed the price of$18.99 per margarita ×2. I told her I thought it was buy one, get one free and she told me that was per person!! I told her no one ever came by to order a second one if that was the case. She apologized and cashed us out. Never again!

Bathrooms clean but had 1 roll of toilet paper to share with 3 stalls in each. I had beef chimichanga that was dry..needed some sauce. My husband had fajitas that were very good. This immediately became our new favorite Mexican restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. The portions were generous but not too much. The food was absolutely delicious!!! My wife usually opts for something with chicken and she said this was the best prepared and best tasting she has had in a long time. I like beef and cheese dishes and my enchiladas were wonderful.
The staff was attentive and helpful. Everyone was very pleasant.

Out of 4 meals, one wasn't what it should have been and another came out burnt. Service was slow. No body bothered to ask if we wanted a appetizer but that's okay, because it took forever to get service and we didn't want to slow the meal service down by getting a app. Nobody came around to see if we wanted refills either. Understaffed, slow service and no happy hour. We miss the old location because they paid more attention to the customer needs.
