Iβm so impressed with Pleasant View Golf Club! From the friendly staff to the top-notch maintenance, everything is run like a well-oiled machine.
Sure, it gets a lot of play, but itβs the amazing conditions and the exceptional service that make it so special. The Madison metro area has plenty of great golf courses, but Pleasant View stands out with its multiple nines, large range, and the Par 3 all in one.
The Par 3 is a great place to take my grandson (7) to introduce him to the game, or as a quick evening nine on a summer night.
After nearly twenty years as a member at a private club in another city, I played one round at Pleasant View and realized that for the value and the options they offer, itβs become my retirement golf club.

We loved this place!!! Was running late due to traffic and they were some of the nicest, most understanding people Iβve ever dealt with. Pure Midwest hospitality and kindness. The layout of the course was fun and in fantastic condition. We picked this place last minute for our annual golf trip and itβs on the list now. Thank you guys!! Shot out to the goat!π

I have been regularly playing PVGC since 2022 and this course for me ranks top in terms of quality golf for the price you pay. Every hole feels unique and provides their own challenges. The design of the course is well-done and there are only 1 or 2 holes that I can think of that are poor in design philosophy. The rest are picturesque and memorable. If you have not played here since the renovations, do check it out as updates on Praire 8 and Lake 6 have breathed some fresh designs into this course.

The course was in decent shape and the redesign of some holes are a great improvement. HOWEVER, for a course that now charges premium rates, grounds crews should not be out mowing, blowing and zipping around for 8 out of the 9 holes payed. Either send the crews out an hour earlier, delay tee times or take a moment to actually think! Send crews out on the 1st holes of each 9, rather than prep the 9s sequentially. After a few holes, the constant drone of carts, blowers and mowers ruins the experience completely.

Iβve had two lessons with Jeremy Cabalka here and he is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and breaks things down easily for your understanding. Then he is able to give you multiple different feels and ways to do things so you can find what clicks for you. And the videos he provides are great to be able to look at later. Highly recommend him if you want to get better at golf

Over priced.. golf (the course is usually chewed up pretty good, including the greens) and drinks. Of course, they are extremely competitive if you consider U-ridge, Cooper Hawks, or any of the other private courses in the area. But they ain't none of them. We were asked us to leave after a little rain cuz no one else was on the course. It wasnβt that wet, and weather was good for rest of the day. They asked us to leave after .09 tenths of an inch of rain (on a course with high elevations and hills) with none in the forecast. the ranger on hole 6 said we were 10 min behind. we were on pace for about a 2:20 9 hole round on a very windy and busy day. the group behind maybe waited 45 seconds on 2 different occasions. push push push. business business business. yes, we completed "11" holes and were given rainchecks but if anyone golfs, thats like getting blue balled. 2 in the 4-some traveled an hr each way to play as well. A mother's day gift for 1 person in our 4-some that she didn't really get.

This is an updated review. The Lake 9 is so awesome now with the new changes. #2 is now a monster hole and so much better built. #3 new bunker means you cannot be right. #5 pond redo with stones is gorgeous. #6 view off the tee is now open and bunkers frame hole better. #8 new green is a punch bowl and pin placements will make it fun. Also the new green on Prairie #8 looks well thought out being left of the hill. Now let's get a second practice putting green on the ledge between range and Clubhouse and make it huge, touch the 3 par 5's on the Prairie course with refinement and review #4,5,6,7 holes on the Woods and what can be done to improve. Great job!

It is not the course that I grew up on any more. This was a horse Field then they turned ot into a golf course. You used to be able to get a decent rate in the spring and summer that is no longer the fact. The course is under construction and they don't discount you for the the inconvenience. I would like to see a new management in place because the management right now are pretty arrogant. They didn't handle covid very well. It is fun to playbut not at the price they are charging

Beautiful course that also provided a fun and challenging round. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The course itself was well maintained with great views (note: a few holes are currently being reworked. One temporary green when I was there). The management of the course was evident in the condition of the fairways and greens and some holes (as mentioned) are being redesigned and look promising. I highly recommend this course.

Terrible experience! Brought my father here to visit the place and ask for the price, but the lady came approaching us with hostility, kept giving us the side eyes. Never felt so unwelcome before. Will not recommend anyone to this place.

Not only that, she mentioned that βThe facility is only for paying customers only and not pedestriansβ with condescending tone, as though we are not welcome. We felt so disrespected and of course i voiced my displeasure while having this experience. We even said my father is here to play golf. We were given side eyes. Making assumptions without based evidence really make us more uncomfortable. We really did wish the experience were as pleasant as it should be.

Overall a good experience.
Dynamic Pricing is an interesting social experiment. No matter what time of day I play, it's the same price. Even booking a week out is the same price. (Maybe I'm missing something)
$39 for nine holes and a cart at 6:40 pm doesn't feel dynamic.
The course is pretty slow after 6:00 pm so good luck getting in all nine holes.
$67.50 for 18 and a cart on the weekend is good but a third of the greens are baked and burned by the sun. I would just expect a better kept green for that pricing.
Carts are great, they even have the USB chargers.
Staff is friendly. Even the rangers! (Keep your pace of play)
Bartenders and Cart Girls are timely and drink prices are fair.
Range is $15 for the big buckets and most of the balls are in great shape so good value.
Range is one of those downhill ranges so not my favorite but it's good to warm up for a round!
Replace your divots and fix your greens. I feel like the community who plays here actually does that out here. The ranger station has complimentary divot fixers. A+
Overall it's a great place to play golf, I've played here 10 times now and nary a bad experience.

Been golfing here for years and finally thought I'd give it a review, even though it's off season, just thinking off golf... 27 holes, each very different. Not super technical, but a good challenge and room for mistakes. The clubhouse is great as well with a great view into Madison after the round for food and drinks out on the patio.

Based off of reviews alone I cannot wait to try this course and the driving range out. I was actually hoping to hit the range right now but they are only open until 7pmh. I'll probably have to hustle to one of the other courses that have their range open until 8pm. But sadly after all of that hustle, I probably won't make it with a decent amount of time left to get in a good amount of swings in with my son. I work throughout the night and come home when the sun is rising. So getting out for me is not an easy task. Especially when 90-95% of the state closes at 7-8pm. 6 on pictures, reviews and replies to those reviews. Its not often you see staff that care enough to reach back out to a customer that has left a review. I also love seeing someone claim they were mistreated, only to be corrected on the internet with actual evidence proving the customer was doing nothing but posting a lie and trying to give a company a bad image they technically don't deserve. All because they didn't get their way. I'm pretty positive that when I am able to visit this establishment I will be able to bump that 4 stars to 5 stars. Definitely looking forward to checking this spot out ASAP Hopefully next Friday or Saturday evening.πβ³ποΈ

Had a bad experience at Pleasant View. Not very customer focused at all. We were there at 6:10 PM and were told we couldnβt go out even though two men before us were allowed to go. We received no explanation. Called and expressed our displeasure and received a phone call back from the Manager the next day who wasnβt the least interested in our complaints. He was actually quite condescending. We wonβt be back.

Considering its proximity to Middleton and Madison, Pleasant View is one of the easiest courses to get on and you can't beat the greens fees. Twighlight is an excellent deal! The course is well manicured and the layout can be challenging, or more forgiving, depending on which tee box you use and where the flag is placed. You can't beat the views for post-game refreshments!

I recently called Pleasant View Golf Course to see if the Bucky Book coupons would work as a single golfer. I spoke with Kathy, who let me know that the coupons would not work as a single, but that she could let me use one of them to play 18 holes at the cost of 9.
I really appreciated that she was patient with my misunderstanding, but also that she took the time to check with the manager and was able to sort out a solution that worked for me. I am incredibly impressed that they were able to accommodate me.
The course was in great condition. I played the Woods and Lake courses which were unique and challenging in their own ways. My only gripe is that the beverage cart did not get to us until the 9th hole on a 95 degree day, and as a walker, that was a challenge as I had already finished the 2 waters I'd brought in my bag. Thankfully, the beverage cart swung by us no less than 4 times as we finished the Lake course, and I was happy to purchase something each time.
Thank you for a great experience, Pleasant View! I will be back!

We recently had our wedding at Pleasant View Golf Course and it was perfect. We had the obstacle of weather in our way, but Becky was absolutely amazing at making things work. The whole staff at Pleasant View worked their tail ends off to make our day beautiful. I have been at the course many times throughout my life (the course is one of the best in the area by the way), and I have always been impressed with their staff and how hard they work. We had Pleasant View cater our rehearsal dinner, and it was sooo good! I highly recommend Pleasant view as an event venue and also has a golf course. We come to Pleasant View at least 3 times a week. Every single time we have came the customer service was outstanding. They are very accommodating and very generous. Jeremy is an amazing guy, pro shop workers are such a pleasure to work with. Starters are great and very nice people. Everyone is just so personable if you are a frequent golfer. Friday Fish fry is not worth your money. The hand battered cod is barely coated with any type of batter and was very dry. Although after asking what was in the batter and not getting an answer (Must be a secret recipe), the cook offered to make another batch for us to try and was very apologetic. The next batch was a bit better, was not as dry, still a bit crisp and still no batter to be detected. The cod is fried and timed according to regulations, but not worth $12.95. I have never been to this establishment, but do not plan to return for a fish fry. The cheese curds and French fries were good and the view was very picturesque, staff was helpful when you sought out help, they apparently do not have any wait staff, which seemed odd considering the atmosphere looking like a normal sit down restaurant. It was anything but. They could bring in a lot more business if they upped their game. Just saying!

Can't speak for the golf course but the free mountain biking park is a pleasant surprise. Good tabletops, pump track, obstacle course. Couple miles of single track around the edge of the course and through the woods. It's small but if you live nearby or just curious, it's worth a stop.

If you're looking for a golf course that will haphazardly start anyone and everyone that shows up, then this is the place for you.
You may plan for a 4.5 hour round, but go ahead and clear the next 6 hours because this place is as backed up as man who just ate a whole wheel of cheese.
Come on out and watch a bunch of fully grown men take turns driving a golf ball 12 yards. You'd think they'd let you play through, but then they wouldn't be able to try and impress you on that next tee box.
I've just played my last round out there. Won't go back unless there is an outing I'm involved in. Tired of being told over the phone that it is wide open and that I should come out, but then find that it is packed to the gills.

Love the course. Would go here more regularly if there was a military rate.
I wish the people were as 'pleasant' as the name.
Extremely disappointed with the customer service. Jeff was the man (I hesitate to use the word 'gentleman') who answered the phone when I called. After being placed on hold immediately, he acted as though he didn't have time for me and I was putting him out by asking a couple questions. After I asked him a question, he acted exasperated by me and asked me if I could be put on hold. It was obvious it wasn't a question, so I said ok. He then hung up on me.
My husband then called back and also got the 'pleasure' of speaking with Jeff. After my husband finally got an answer to one of our questions, we ended up booking a tee time and he was going to ask one more thing, but was hung up on AGAIN.
I am considering canceling the tee time and taking our money to another establishment where they would be happy to answer 2 questions and be pleasant to us. It's a lot of money to spend to not even get treated with respect.
**To the management/owners: If you do me the honor of reading this review, I post this so you know what image your employees are portraying of your business- it is not a good one. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone at any golf course around the country. For a gentleman's sport, the proper behavior and etiquette is severely lacking.

Great location, convenient, great staff and facilities. Had may closest to hole on a par 3 ever at Pleasant View and won a round of golf. Going back all the time, one of my favorites.

PV has such a friendly staff, great food and an awesome view. The golf is definitely challenging but not too difficult. The only thing I'd suggest is get rid of those fake coyotes on the course...they freak me out! ;)

Well maintained and pretty cheap, with some nice elevation changes. The downside is that they have a league or group outing or it is just packed all the time.
