My group got our table shortly after they opened. The cafes atmosphere and decorations make it a decent stop. When we were there, it seemed like there was no heat. My coffee was cold before I got halfway through it.

Service was great. Right after we say down the waitress gave us our menus, and took our drink orders.

Food came back relatively quickly. There was some split opinions on the food. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy seemed homemade. Some also had mash potatoes in eggs. My food was fine by me. Portion was okay and it was filling.

To be honest there are not many places like this anymore. I actually felt like I was transported back to the earlier days. Walking up you notice that this is an older building with wooden floors. Once you get past the torn screen door you see an array of tables, all different. You also see all kinds of things from days gone by such as a manual typewriter. The overall look of the place is unique border line feeling like you are in a thrift shop.

The food is excellent. I had the best philly cheesesteak I have ever had. The blend of peppers, meat, cheese and the sauce was outstanding. The peppers were cooked and soft something that you don't always find. The sauce that was used was tasty yet was not just mayo out of a jar. My wife had a chicken sandwich that she also enjoyed. My son had a grilled cheese that was filled with cheese. We all got the kettle chips that were also very good. I have also had the pizza in the past and it is also excellent. Everything here has really good value for your money.

What a TREASURE! Delish, homemade everything! Husb, Collie dog & I stumbled upon this little, off-the-beaten-path town/cafe and had the very best lunch! Ordered two lovely, fresh salads and they were truly memorable! Jim (owner) Leah our server and Jim's wife were the frosting on a "cake-like" rural day of moreling, asparagus hunting and hiking! Arrived for Friday night fish fry without a reservation and luckily they were able to fit us in. This is absolutely the best fish fry in Sauk County! The green beans were cooked perfectly with a touch of bacon and onion. Coleslaw was more of a perfect southern style, mayo based, light crunch with hint of sugar. French fries were crisp and tasty. The fried fish was truly something special. The breading was nice and crispy and the fish inside tender. After a few bites of the fish, I realized there was something familiar about the taste. It was spot on for how I remembered my granny’s fish. It brought back a flood of memories and maybe a tear or two to my eyes. This was a homecoming experience at its best.

Such a great place. Quintessential little small-town diner. I don't like eggs and they were happy to switch up a menu item for me. Had a hashbrown "scramble" with veggies and cheese with some crispy bacon, and the bacon is QUALITY. So delish. They have a big lunch menu with fun cocktails so I'll be back! So glad I stopped here today. It was a lucky guess. People in this small town are super nice. Two people offered to share their table and another dude was pretty much done and offered his table too. We sat with an older couple who were really fun to talk with. The group of men next to us were locals as well and raise Buffalo and sell meat.
Restaurant is farm to table and you can taste it. Expect to wait a little for the food but it's worth it. Don't come here expecting quick service and being a jerk..
I had blueberry pancakes with bacon and two eggs. It was super delicious. Syrup comes out warm too! 😋
My friend had the omelet special, with freshly picked asparagus..
I definitely want to come back for dinner.

Cute and quirky little cafe. The food here is excellent. I had the beef taco's and they were outstanding. The shells were the best I ever had; crisp, light and crunchy. My husband had the BLT and he really enjoyed it. We had great attentive service. This is definitely where the "locals" go. There is also an ice cream counter here, you're able to walk in and just get an ice cream cone.

Started out wrong. Not enough buns, no blue cheese dressing, HOWEVER, even with that they served us a most delicious meal. The owner is super delightful. I've driven past this place countless times, but today was my first visit! It's a small mom n' pop type place. Loved the decor! It was very cozy and had neat antiques everywhere. The staff were very kind and friendly. The food took a while to come out, but it was worth the wait! The prices were great too. 3 of us ate breakfast for 26 bucks! I'll definitely be back! My boyfriend had a biscuit and gravy breakfast that included eggs and hashbrowns. I had a yummy blueberry pancake with a scrambled egg and bacon, and my friend had over easy eggs and white toast. We all enjoyed the food!

When we went there, it was a hell of a long wait. However, that isn't exactly a bad thing. They were short-staffed at the time and with the amount of people that showed up, it seems to be a popular place. The owner and her husband do their very best to make everyone feel like they're family. Google states that this is Amish owned or Amish Style cuisine. It is not. It is not and the owner will tell you that. It's more like down to earth, home-cooked meals like Grandma used to make.

We were on the hunt for maple syrup on our road trip....as the trip went, we needed breakfast one day, this place was our destination one morning. The biscuits and gravy was very affordable and filling. The special was garden fresh asparagus,ham and cheese (being wisconsin, the cheese was equally fresh)omelet. I was fairly certain the eggs were fresh as well. We sadly didn't get to try pizza from here. However, we did find local maple syrup and homemade apple butter! The setting in a historic building is a nice feature. I recommend going here!

Went there for breakfast last week and loved the food. Invited my parents and sister to go out to fish fry here since we loved the food from breakfest. Planned on just showing up there at 6pm but decided to call around 5:30pm to see if they do reservations. Lady said they can get us in at 7:15pm. So we waited to eat and showed up there around 7:05pm. The lady told us they ran out of fish. It is Friday night fish fry in Wisconsin so not sure how they run out of fish on a Friday night. So after waiting to eat and driving there (parents and sister drove about an hour one way to get there) we had to find somewhere else to eat for fish fry. Very disappointed hence the 3 stars!! My sister was offered a gift card to come back and eat. We were a party of 7!
