The employees were all super nice, tables and seats are clean and comfortable. Our food was nice and hot and had exquisite quality and fries were crispy and hot. The music playing in the restaurant gives it a great vibe. Me and my friends all loved it as you can see my friend holding a fry in the picture very happily. I placed a mobile order at Popeyes store number 8737 on June seventeenth at 9:03 PM. I ordered the number one classic sandwich meal, mac and cheese, and a six-piece honey BBQ wings. What I received was absolutely not honey BBQ—it tasted like an extreme hot sauce, possibly ghost pepper. It was so intense that after one bite, my face went numb and my tongue started tingling. I couldn’t even finish a single wing. The rest are still sitting next to me untouched.

This isn’t just about disliking spicy food. I’ve been hospitalized before from a single jalapeño pepper. My stomach completely shut down, stopped producing acid, and the food in it expanded to the point where it compressed my lungs. I was suffocating from the inside out. That’s not a tolerance issue—that’s a serious medical risk. Getting a sauce I didn’t ask for, with that level of heat, could’ve sent me straight back to the ER.

And this wasn’t a casual pickup. I’m in a CDL-regulated work truck. That means logging out of drive time, switching to personal mode, completing a full DOT pre-trip inspection, and taking a truck that’s difficult to maneuver just to get there. It’s less than a mile from my hotel, but it still takes me fifteen minutes each way because of the vehicle I’m in. I went through all that effort for a meal I couldn’t even eat.

To top it off, the condiments I selected—like ranch—weren’t even included. Not a huge issue by itself, but it adds to the frustration when everything else already went sideways.

This needs to be taken seriously. A simple sauce mix-up isn’t just an inconvenience for someone like me—it’s dangerous. Please ensure your staff is double-checking orders and sauces. That one mistake could have real medical consequences for the wrong person.

We got the special 12 piece bucket that came with five biscuits and two sides. We opted for cole slaw and mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy. The cole slaw was okay, the potatoes were good, and the biscuits were buttery and delicious. The chicken pieces were very small and had more breading than meat. Poor experience. The staff were sitting on their phones in front of the customers as the lobby was full of trash all over the ground, incredibly sticky tables and chairs pushed out everywhere. Not to mention the service was terrible. The staff couldn’t answer what a certain meal came with and tried explaining what the family box was after multiple times we asked for something different. Also, when taking our order he completely walked away and started talking to his colleagues who weren’t working at all.

More importantly my wife used the restroom and when she went in she Didn’t notice there was urine all over the seat and sat in it. This Popeyes is ok. Really, these fast food restaurants are not that good as they used to be. When walking in this one, it's very spacious with open floors to walk comfortably. The bathroom was a little clean. You will get that little pee smell as if there slacking on cleaning the restroom floors. My food was hot, tasting ok, but as it started to cool down, you could taste the bad oil in the chicken and fries with a hard biscuit, so I didn't finish the food. I don't like how loud it is when entering as there will be employees talking loud while playing music. Parking is great, and you can get full if this is your thing. As for me, I won't be going back to this Popeyes when I'm visiting Madison.
