It was decent. Sat in dining room, not in bar. Wait staff was nice each time we went. Drinks were ok, bar food was edible. Had steak & shrimp special, requested steak sauce, and it had been expired for 18+ months. Not running back for more Port Bar food, but a decent place to grab pizza or fish on Fridays in desperation.

Stopped for breakfast on our way through. Server Tammy was exceptionally attentive (despite her having a bar full of guests also) and seeing to our every need, coffee cups full, asking if food is prepared well, etc. Very reasonable prices. Small town atmosphere with wonderful conversant local folk willing to share local lore and tips…will definitely make this our destination when we’re in the area.

I was recently reading a review that spoke negatively about the establishment and staff. I was the server that evening and I want to give the correct information. The guest ordered her fish dinner and when she received it told me that she forgot to say she needed it broiled. I offered to make her another dish with the fish being steamed on the grill and she refused it if it meant she had to pay for the other plate. She did box the food up and take everything home so I would say it couldn’t have been that bad of a meal. Also regarding the fish sandwich it states on the menu that it is a breaded COD - it is not a fish stick cut in half. The staff and food are great and I would suggest reading other reviews and come try it yourself before crossing us off your list! You won’t be disappointed!

I don’t know why I’ve given them as many chances as I’ve had. I grew up going here and had good memories there. It’s been terrible for food when I’ve popped into town over the years in the last 5 or so years.

I don’t recommend the fish fry. It’s fried only—no option to broil. Salad bar was very poor. They were basically out of iceberg lettuce and didn’t refill. They didn’t have other options for lettuce. Everything appeared picked over, but there was literally no one else eating (probably for a reason). I wasn’t okay with my fish. They told me I could eat the baked potato and salad bar and that my family still had to pay for the fish. They wouldn’t remake it, offer anything else, or even just let me leave without a meal without paying for it. They were very rude about it. And just said that since they made it, we had to pay for it. So the plate just sat there untouched. Made a sandwich when I got home.

My mom went there another day this past week also. She ordered a fish sandwich. It was literally a fish stick cut in half. She assumed that it would be actual fish on the sandwich since this area is known for fish, not just something out of the freezer that you can buy anywhere that you slice in half.

I’ll also never forget when I went there four years ago, and I wanted a salad on their menu. It was 3 pm. They refused to serve salad because it was their dinner menu. We even asked if it was back there since it was so close to dinner time. They said yes, but didn’t let me order it. It was so weird.

This place was good and busy once upon a time. I can get better food and a better experience for the same price in a HCOL area. This was the meal that finally made me cross the port off my list of food options when visiting the area. Go farther or just eat at home (even if it’s just a sandwich).

Great pizza, plenty of beers on tap, a really amazing fireplace and the flexibility of outdoor seating! What more can you ask for, outdoor seating was dog friendly too. Great place to stop and grab a bite and a drink, as the prices were spectacular! The family goes up to Port Wing annually and we always make sure to stop at least once!

I was the only Kansas City Chiefs fan in the joint for the Chiefs - Packers game last night 11-7-21 (we won!) Everyone was super nice! The service and the food were excellent! Also, they do a fish fry on Friday nights. I had trout that was caught that morning in Lake Superior. Scrumptious!
