Beautiful location. It was busy today but we didn't have to wait to sit on the patio. Our server was very nice and prompt.

This was a random choice when Da Wife and I were out exploring SW Wisconsin... magical is all I can say. Fantastic home brews, banging food, and a staff of damn good Humans! If our travels take us back to that area, we're damn sure to visit again! Oh yeah... the drive is worth it, too!

Not our first time here, but might be our last. They were busy and might have been a 10 minute wait for a table for 2. No issue there. It was the next 45 minutes that nobody came to take any kind of order from us that was. We were seated 2nd table from the corner by the windows. A waitress took care of the table on either side of us, and never even acknowledged we were sitting there staring at menus with not even beverages in front of us. We finally just walked out. Even if she wasn't supposed to be our waitress, somehow I feel like she could have noticed we had not been waited on yet. Very disappointed.

Stopped for a late lunch. I ordered the classic burger with extra mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Sammie was our server & she made sure I got the extra mushrooms! The burger was fantastic! The service was even better! I highly recommend the Cow Pie Stout. It was delicious....and I don't really like beer! Great place!

This place is extraordinary in that it's a restaurant, it's a bar, it's a history museum. Plan on about a 90 minute visit if it's your first time. Everybody is extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't try the food but everyone around us appeared to be enjoying their meal. I can tell you the drink options are plentiful and delicious. Try the root beer, definitely better than some Milwaukee options.

Incredible history in this beautiful rejuvinated old time brewery!! Great food in the restaurant. Wonderful artifacts in the museum. Tyler was our guide for the brewery tour, he was high energy, tons of information, explained production then & now, with modern updates, so well!! The tasting part of the tour was, of course, fun too, getting to taste beers available no where else was a special treat!! this tour was an awesome day trip with friends! Will always recommend!!

Had an amazing tour and experiance at this brewery. Lots of information presented in a great manner. Tour inclueds a glass and lots of drink pours, worth every penny! The food and service are great and also get entry into the national beer museum which is detailed but could be a lot bigger.

Beer is below average. You'd think they'd have better recipes being in business as long as they have. Beer is under carbed. Also the beer is missing something else, or something is off, like mash ph, water chemistry isn't quite right, fermentation temp...Will I ever stop in again if traveling through? Nope. It's just not good enough which is sad, its ok but meh. The building is awesome and atmosphere was good. Service was good. Beer just didn't wow me.

Truly a great destination spot hands down: nice outside seating, restaurant and bar. Eight of us for Friday night cocktails and dinner. Beers were sub par if you like good German beers. Many of us ordered baked cod or catfish. Huge mistake. The cook (not a chef) smothered it in spicy, salty paprika. Once you tried to scrape it off, the fish had absolutely no taste. Guess that was how they chose to camouflage that! We obviously got the last 2 of the 3 baked potatoes we ordered (2 of us had to split one): brown inside and dried. Rueben was also ordered and reported as "ho hum." Meals were randomly delivered with half of us done before the rest of our party was served...plenty of empty tables so being too busy was not an issue. The restaurant's acoustics were terrible..no one could hear the other across the table. The waitress was great and attentive. We told her politely about how horrible the baked fish meals were - not her fault for sure - but we tipped her well. Doubt we'll ever go back. They might want to shorten the menu offerings and try to excel on a few or consider putting some time into some signature offerings.

My wife and I live in the area and often come here because they have gluten free buns. I usually don’t get sick, but today I very much did, maybe because they were busy. So three stars, because often they are good but sometimes not so much if you have allergies.

The Potosi Brewery began circa 1870, and went out of business circa 1972. The building sat vacant for about 30 years, and thank goodness someone had the vision and capital to fully renovate it and turn it in to a really quant bar and restaurant. A "must-see" if your in the area, especially on the Great River Road up & down the Mississippi. A wonderful monument to small town breweries. God bless the Great American Midwest, and God bless the great state of Wisconsin.

Had to wait 10 min to be seated while other couples walked in and sat down on their own. Waited 10 minutes to order a beverage, in fact table next to us said we may want to order 2 at a time. Then ordered food was brought to table with no silverware. Asked tenure waitress for silverware she never brought. Had to ask a new waitress who was so nice and found right away. Left our waitress 2 dollar tip regrettably due to very poor service. Would not recommend this place.

I mistakenly came here thinking it was the twisted vine but I was not sorry! The brisket on seven grain bread was awesome, definitely upgrade to the beer cheese soup. You're in a brewery brew pub. You're in WI! And it comes out piping hot which many 5 star restaurants have not mastered. Awesome decor inside with great beer signs and really soothing water feature on patio. Don't miss the spring underneath your feet as you enter. Evidently it's what is used in the beer and occasionally floods out the community.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to visit the Potosi Brewery on a Saturday around 11:45am.
We were seated right away and we both ordered beers— the Riverside Radler and the Raspberry Lemonade beer. Both beers were very tasty! We also started with the fried pickle appetizer. They were good, even though I typically lije a lighter batter on my pickles. While we enjoyed our beers and app, it was fun to look around the dining area. It is a near contrast— the stone of the old building with the neon signage— it’s one of the cooler breweries we’ve been in.
Our server was very attentive and sweet and I order The Kicker burger with pub fries and my husband ordered the brisket melt with fries. We both really enjoyed our meals!!
After lunch we explored the little free museum and the gift shop. We picked out some beer and a tshirt to take home. The woman at the counter told us there was a 3% charge to use a credit card— not a big deal. However, this was not added to the bill. She rang up our merchandise, added $3.00 to the tip area, and had us sign!! This was not 3% of our total as our total was about 32.00. This did not seem right to us but we didn’t fight it as it was getting busy…. This is the ONLY reason I took a star off of this review.
We enjoyed everything about our Potosi experience except the gift shop issue.

This place definitely needs a face lift!!! The upholstery on the chairs R sad...pulled out of shape and ill-fitting and saggy, not 2 mention stain ridden and the cushions R just so hard and simply beyond uncomfortable. Our table was sticky in more than a few places. And DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS!!! They were head and shoulders beyond disgusting. I venture 2 say that they were virtually tyvek-needed biohazardlydisgusting enough that NASA might very well B interested in checking them out. Even my 21 yo son commented on their disgusting condition. One extra napkin on the table, nothing stocked...and we got there at around 5 pm. At that time there were 2 separate people sitting at it. There were only 2 other tables filled at the time we got there and seated. And as we were seated, one table of patrons left, leaving just us and the other table. I personally saw 3 Napkins on the floor, in different places, that staff constantly and continually walked over/around. One that we walked over on the way out, my husband actually ended up picking up himself. So there really wasn't any reason for any one working there 2 NOT pick up large items left laying on the floor, as they were not in any slammed or even casually busy!!! . We were finally asked about refilling our drinks about 90% done with our meal. My husband's cod was good.. could've definitely used more lemon and tarter though, if we'd been ask in a timely manner.
Their Salads, while full of different items, has a different type of greens in it...spinach, radicchio, endive, arugula. So our son wasn't a fan of the bitter and hard-2-pick-up Salad Ingredients at all. His Mac and cheese wasn't all that great due to the ungodly smokiness of the ham that they used and put in there. I got a small side dish of their Mac and cheese, and I had to whole heartily concur. My chicken wrap was OK, but might have been better with some sour cream on it or some cilantro. Didn't have much in the line of flavor going for it, but did have a nice array of textures in it's corner.

First off, this is a really neat place with a lot of history. Even without food and beverage, it's kind of a neat place to see and has various types of souvenirs. My family went there for food and beverage. We ordered the cheese curds and fried pickles as our appetizers and both were outstanding. There was some mix-up with the kitchen and our order. Apparently, the kitchen lost our order and it never got placed. Our waitress didn't realize until about an hour of us sitting there with our empty appetizer plates and empty drinks. To compensate, they gave us the appetizers and drinks for free. It was a nice gesture, but I think it could have been all found a lot sooner if the waitress had ever come back and checked on us. Across the six different meals we had the opinions varied. The reuben and mac and cheese were both very good. The root beer was also very well liked.

went here for the first time, took the tour (which we enjoyed) After the tour decided to head to the bar and cash in our 2 free pints (that came with the paid admission to the tour) and grab a bite to eat. Being that it was a nice Saturday afternoon I wasn't surprised that it was busy but i was disappointed that it seemed like they were not prepared to deal with a decent sized crowd on a warm summer afternoon. I'm sure this is nothing new for them as I'm sure it's quite busy here during summer weekends. We waited and waited at the reception area to be seated (all the outdoor seating was filled but there were open tables inside) At this point we decided to visit the museum. We toured the museum (also enjoyable) then made our way back down to the bar/restaurant area, and waited and waited. Finally someone (a kind, but obviously frustrated worker) stopped and told us she will try and find someone to seat us. She came back a few minutes later (and was more frustrated) and she explained she can't find anyone and she was going to keep looking?? Tired of waiting any longer we chose to leave. I still have my vouchers for a couple free pints of beer. Maybe I'll come back on some random weekday, but never on a weekend again

I stopped here for lunch while touring the area. The atmosphere is very pleasant. They produce an amazing Root Beer. The quality of the food was in line with the cost. The service was attentive, our server knew the menu and with a few questions she was able to make good recommendations.

Beer, rootbeer, and ambiance is fantastic…food quality just is not at brewery quality. Have eaten here 3x. Burgers, shrimp, sandwiches, appetizers…just ok at best.

Delicious! I highly recommend their grilled brisket and sweet potato fries. My friends had the Reuben, grilled chicken sandwich, and beer cheese soup. All of them tasted great. The atmosphere is really unique. They have a cave area and gift shop where you can buy potosi beer as well. Lots of different flavors including seltzers.

Waitress very judgemental with the beer we ordered, felt neglected in the back right corner by the copper. Will walk out on the blonde waitress if she serves us again

We really enjoyed having lunch here, the pub is gorgeous. Our sandwiches were delicious. We had Italian meatball soup that was just too spicy and more like a hot chili. That soup was not delicious. The waitress was friendly but distracted. Overall it was a good experience and we will be back.

What a superb place out in the middle of nowhere. We were camping at Grant River Army Corp Campground not far away. Took a chance and went to Pitosi. What Fun we had!! A very well done museum. You can spend hours here. Also, they have a brewery too. Excellent beer tastings. The museum displays were excellent.

We really enjoy the food here. It pains me to write this, but the service has not been great lately. Clearly they are short staffed, but the last two times we have been in (a month or so apart) there is something very wrong in the back. I'm not sure if they don't have a dish washer or what, but every time we order soup we get wildly different sized portions in a variety of vessels, from a tiny cup to (different) large bowls. (they should have all been the same size) Most recently my coleslaw was served in a huge soup bowl and one of my dining companions got what I'm pretty sure was a soup ladle instead of a spoon. One out of the 3 fish orders never got condiments with it and we couldn't get the waitress's attention. Again, I realize they are short staffed but they really need to get their act together with the portion sizes and if necessary use disposable dishes if they can't get anyone to wash them.
PS the wifi does NOT work on the patio and it is a mobile dead zone so plan accordingly if you are going to eat outside.

This is hands down our favorite brewery in our area. Its always a huge experience when we visit. We like to go through one of the largest beer museums every time we go. Three floors of cool beer stuff. The tours are also always great, you just need to plan for that and arrive at a certain time. Super friendly staff every time we go too. Very welcoming and good spirited. Last time we went I had their special mac and cheese dinner, it was amazing. It has bacon and grilled chicken in it. And every time we get the beer cheese soup which is legendary. And I can't say enough about the beers, we just love many of their beers. We pick them up all the time at our local grocery store too. Can't get enough of good ole Potosi and several of their other beers.

Not thrilled with the service today, my family and I were seated in the back corner then forgotten about, we sat for 25 minutes before waitress showed up to take our drink orders and that was only after I asked the hostess that seated us to send someone over. Wasn't overly busy when we were there.

Neat place with a great interior and outdoor seating available. I would love to come back and do the museum - this review is only for the brewpub. Our server was attentive though we felt our food took longer to serve than what was to be expected.
The beer bread and spinach dip appetizer was the winner of what we ordered - that I highly recommend. Cave Ale Chicken was good. Only the cheese curds wasn't up to par with other places - they were too oily!
Right around the restaurant, you might want to take a nice stroll and some pictures, it's quite a scenic place!

Staff nice and hard working. The sausage plate appetizer had a spoonful of sauerkraut...really? I thought it overpriced at $13. The neighboring table got the artichoke dip ( I'm pretty sure). Lots of sliced bread, but only a small bowl of the dip.

The food is average, but the beer cheese soup is VERY good.
The service (getting our food) was very slow but we had a big group, so it was understandable.
The waitress did a great job and made small talk with the table (she gets 5 stars).
Seating inside and out. Neat little koi pond outside.
