Local owner and Executive Chef Jodi Janisse-Kanzenbach is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Minneapolis/St Paul. Precinct was born from the location being the old Police Station in Germantown. The name came from a conversation with Jodi and one of the other owners.

This is not our first time here but when my wife and I were thinking of a place to eat after our elopement today, to celebrate our marriage, we thought of the precinct. The amount of bold flavors and exquisite food was amazing. Beyond the astounding food that we received the absolute excellent service adds that cherry on top. It's always a full round experience when going to the precinct, not just your everyday dining. Since our first visit here they have really redefined what it means for us to go out to eat. The food is elevated with complex flavor profiles and a revolving specials menu that never ceases to amaze. I can't commend the staff enough for the obvious, caring attention they give to their dishes and to their customers alike. This will always be a favorite and we look forward to many more visits in the future. If it's your first time stopping in, don't forget to try the creme brulee or dessert!

Updating my review as we just went again for the first time in 2 years.
No changes to the service, still outstanding.
The food was excellent. Ordered in our group was the Crab Cakes, Cinnamon Poached Pear Salad, the curry fish special (sorry don't remember the name as it was not mine), another fish dish that included black rice, and I had the Lost Boys pizza - withOUT the hot honey. Hate trendy junk and really, leave the honey alone. But I digress and they are certainly NOT the only ones doing it. We also had the Carrot Cake and the Fallen Chocolate Souffle Cake ala Mode. The pizza was phenomenal. I ate 1/2 and took the rest home for lunch the next day of course. Had to make sure I had room for the souffle cake. Which was also just delicious. Everyone else was very pleased with their selections with most taking leftovers home.

Went to the Precinct for their Thursday night TV Dinner special. Looked like a fun, different way to have dinner. And it was. The service was great and our server was very friendly and efficient.
The food was not what I would have expected. Granted it was only $15, and the full dinner was quite filling, but the items themselves were hit or miss on flavor.
Chicken - basically a chicken finger. Dry. No flavor.
Honey biscuit - Standard biscuit but great honey taste without being sugary.
Mac & Cheese - pasta over cooked and mushy. Couldn't taste any cheese.
Kale coleslaw - Wasn't looking forward to this as kale is NOT my thing. This turned out to be the second best part of the meal. The kale was prepared perfectly, and was soft and tender - almost like wilted spinach.
Spiced Apple Cake with cream cheese icing. Very moist, a bit dense, but delicious.
I don't know if this was just a miss that one night, but I a willing to give them another try for their regular menu or different TV dinner night as the menu for the TV dinner changes every week.
We did also order the bacon wrapped watermelon rind for an appetizer. It was definitely different. The pieces that had really crisp bacon were great. I found that if the bacon wasn't real crisp it added an odd texture and flavor that I didn't care for.

Our server was attentive and friendly, which really stood out. The crispy artichokes were excellent and the best part of the meal. I ordered a pizza without bacon to make it vegetarian, but several other toppings were also missing, which I suspect ties back to the strict no-substitution policy. The crusts on both of our pizzas were undercooked, the sauce overly sweet, and the cold salad heaped on top made the pizza soggy-serving the salad (which was fine) on the side would help. The atmosphere felt more casual than the elevated prices suggested, and the Negroni used a very poor gin. My ale was also served in a snifter, which wasn’t ideal (should be a pint glass), though my friend did enjoy their cocktail.

Overall, a great place! It was my first time visiting the Midwest and I loved the atmosphere of this place. The people were welcoming, server was kind, and food was delicious! We got the Crab Cakes and Pizza-the-Hutt. I thought the crab cakes tasted good but the exterior was a bit mushy. I loved the pizza! I really enjoyed the arugula on top with the mix of the heavier flavors below. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but I’d say it’s worth it. Overall, good place!

Went there today for a birthday celebration, the cocktail was amazing, the appetizers came out looking amazing and tasted every bit as good as they looked, for my main entree I had the walleye which was very nicely done with a perfect texture. And for desert the rhubarb coconut cheesecake.
All I have to say is I can’t wait until the next time I dine there.
The flavors are very interesting and the color palettes of every dish were truly enjoyable and equally captivating.

We started our night just randomly picking a place to eat. Was expecting a normal everyday place that had burgers and stuff on the menu. But let me just tell you we were extremely pleasantly surprised. We started with a drink off the drink menu. The flavor just in that was a explosion in a good way. Appetizer was a scallop dish that was so perfectly cooked. With every bite my mouth was watering. Entree we got the specials. A waygu beef and seared cod. Both were amazing but that waygu dish was superb. Felt like I was at my grams farm again biting into all the fresh stuff from the garden but at alot higher quality. After all that of course we had to try some desert. And didn't disappoint. We are a sucker for a good cheesecake. All in all it was a wonderful experience and the food takes your mouth for a ride. Not to mention all the staff were super friendly and seemed to be having a good time with each other. I loved that. Thanks so much for the experience!

My best friend and I went here for dinner and couldn't have been more impressed! The atmosphere is cool and welcoming!! The staff are down to earth and very friendly!! And the food and drinks.....omg!!! Every sip of my Cranberry Blood Orange Margarita was so delicious! We ordered the fried green tomatoes and whipped feta and hot honey dip...definitely recommend!! As our entree we shared the Pizza-the-Hutt. A-freaking-mazing!!! I don't like onions, but it sounded so good I wanted to give it a try...and I am so glad I did!! The stuffed gouda crust doesn't compare to any stuffed crust pizza I've ever had!! Had some slices left over and took for my lunch the next day...still as amazing!! Thank you for such a great dining experience!!I will definitely be back!!

If food does the talking- these dishes are screaming. We stumbled into this place on our way to my daughter’s basketball tourney - their bison carpaccio and fig/goat cheese pizza- left us dumbfounded. This place punches way above its weight for its small town location. This place belongs in a food scene like Raleigh NC or any big city. We moved to eastern wi from Minneapolis 8 months ago and this would go toe to toe with anything there. Strangely enough- that’s where the chef was trained. We’ll be back and be happy to drive the 1.5 hours to get here.

Came here for my brothers 21st, the place was live. Customers were having a good time, it took a little bit before we were attended to but Penny noticed that and started taking our orders and attended to us for the rest of the night. Farm to table restaurant, so I tried something from all over the menu. The Uncle Buck cocktail was so good and had locally sources cherries, farm bread appetizer with amazingly flavored butter, the garlic & herb flavored ribeye, and creme brulee for dessert. Outstanding on everything!! Excellent flavors in everything!! I can't wait to go back and try something something else from the menu!! The staff are also outstanding, we sat at the kitchen and were able to watch everyone prepare all the deliciousness. As a bonus, they also have gluten free options. A great meal and experience!!

The berry lemonade cheesecake was truly a divine experience. I took a bite and saw God. I was healed, in all ways physically and emotionally. It's been over a month and I still think about that cheesecake.
That's not to diminish the elevated flavor profiles of the rest of my meal. I was unsure about the watermelon rinds before they arrived at the table, but lo and behold, the chef here at the Precinct never misses.
I could wax poetic about a number of the options available, but I don't need to sell you on a masterpiece of menu that sells itself so well already. Do yourself a favor and visit Germantown, and Washington County's best restaurant.

Tempura Fried Lemon Ricotta Squash Blossoms and Bourbon Maple Glazed Pork Belly. Every
bite was full of the right combination of flavor. Could have stopped with the appetizers as our meal
but glad we didn’t. Enjoyed the Halibut dinner special. The side salad, which I cant remember what was
all in it, was fantastic. The right amount of food and couldn’t have asked for a better dinner. Everyone
had a different entrée and we all enjoyed sharing each other’s meals.

We stopped-in on our drive down to Chicago. Very cute neighborhood restaurant with friendly staff. We enjoyed sitting on the patio. For drinks, we got the sangria and a blackberry mule. For food, we got the street corn fritters, elote pork tenderloin and a garlic chicken pizza. The fritters and pizza were delicious! Tenderloin was good too but missing some spice or acid. Appreciated the chefs care regarding my husband’s food allergies. Highly recommend.

Complete gem of a place-like nothing we’ve ever been to.
The best cheesecake I’ve EVER HAD-and cheesecake is my fave dessert so I’ve had a LOT in my life.
Monica was an outstanding server-attentive, friendly and knowledgable.
We didn’t have reservations and ended up in the cozy booth facing the open kitchen-so fun watching/hearing all the action. (Would be a GREAT first date booth!)
I could easily see a 2nd location in Walkers Point or Bay View area.

No carryout after 5:30?
Further evidence that I don’t understand the post-Covid economy as they clearly didn’t want my business.
Happened to have a rare night alone with no obligations. I wanted to get a quick carryout and enjoy a meal while watching March Madness in the comfort of my home.
I arrived around 5:30 and asked to see a menu for carryout. The hostess looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language and asked me to wait a moment. A different person (the manager?) informed me that they don’t do carryout after 5:30.
That’s an extremely random time to stop doing carryout that just happened to coincide with the exact moment I was there.
Can’t rate the food or the service as I didn’t waste another breath. I’ll never return.

Came with a group of friends. Some have been here before. This was my first time.
Had reservations, and got seated right away. Our server did a great job of getting us settled in. Super friendly, and really helpful with offering menu advice. (Thanks Matt).
Had a few of the appetizers. All were hot and delicious. We especially enjoyed the bacon wrapped watermelon rinds. To us it tasted like pineapple instead of watermelon. How do they do that! So yummy.
For dinner, we all got different entrees, ranging from Chicken & Waffle Salad, to the Salt Roasted Beet Salad (mine). Everyone was raving about their selections.
We didn't have room for dessert, but because it was a birthday, they offered a complimentary Creme Brulee. I have had plenty of CBs, but one seemed especially good. Was there some spice/seasoning along with the caramelized sugar?
What a great restaurant find! We will be back.
My only "small" complaint is that the open dining room could be a bit loud at time. (Lots of people have good times)

Cocktail & a single malt scotch- were very nice, $23 total for the two. Wednesday, Feb 14. Appetizer was the Dates stuffed with goat cheese, there was a sundried tomato chutney on the side. We each had the Special: Blue Crab Stuffed Fillet of Sole on a bed of Wild Rice with Asparagus on the side. The main meal was FABULOUS. Asparagus was a bit overcooked but not the worst. Desert was the carrot cake with Burbon Cream Cheese Frosting (no nuts/no raisins). As a dessert connoisseur, I gave it away. My spouse liked it, but it wasn’t my thing. I am very picky on my desserts. $116 for the main meal & another two drinks. I will come back. It appears they have an amazing Saturday special for Valentine’s Day (Feb 17) @$75 /person. Totally looks like a bargain.

As someone with Celiac’s Disease it’s hard to find places that are safe for me anymore. The Precinct is as many have described, a hidden gem. The staff and the food are in a league of their own compared to many other places in the area. They are able to accommodate my restrictions and are very knowledgeable about it up front, which makes the experience so much better overall. The quality of the food and the flavor of the dishes stands out most of all. Many may look at the menu and think it’s “expensive” but for the quality of the food and the unique offerings, it’s worth every penny.

Sat the bar and had a quick 10 minute wait with no reservation. We were sat at the kitchen bar. (we were asked if it was okay) At first we were disappointed because I thought it would be awkward to face the kitchen but the staff was fun and inviting. The fundito was delicious, I ate way to much because I couldn't eat half of my flavorful tender chicken. The thin crispy fries were perfect. We will definitely be back.

An interesting place that I would certainly try again. My husband and I shared the whipped feta and hot honey dip appetizer and it was so delicious! For dinner, I had the walleye and my husband ordered a pizza. Both entrees were great.
We were seated at a corner table where I stared straight ahead at the teal wall that had little to no decor on it (industrial pipe lighting doesn't count, sorry!). All of the tables in the middle of the restaurant were open, and remained that way the entire time we were dining, so it was annoying to be pushed into a literal corner when we could have been seated elsewhere. Plus, a bit cold sitting by a window. This restaurant would benefit from paying some more attention to the customer experience in terms of seating arrangements (I would get rid of this corner table completely). Looking back on it, I should have asked to be seated at a different table. We had to wait a bit for our server to come over and ask for our drinks despite the restaurant not being busy, but I believe he was new and still learning the ropes. He was nice and attentive otherwise. I think this restaurant would benefit from creating more of an identity. There was a neat graffiti-style mural on the wall above the kitchen area, but beyond that and a few other small things, it lacked in decor and we couldn't really tell what the theme of this place was.

The food was amazing! My wife and I decided to try something different and we will be back. We had the cauliflower special for an appetizer, amazing. So much flavor. My wife had the beet salad with crab cakes and I had the ribeye. Both were prepared perfectly. All of the staff was excellent. We will be back to try other dishes! The bartender, however, wanted to be anywhere but there. Some of the staff could have been slightly more dressed up - t shirts and sweatshirts give more of a bar feel

Went there October 7th 2023. WOW!!!!!! I haven't had a meal like that in a long time. Everything was seasoned perfect. There was nothing I ate here that I didn't like. Good atmosphere. Everyone in the kitchen was waving goodbye when we left. Very friendly. I will be back soon!!!!! Superb food for a good price.

Fantastic restaurant, the chef used to run a place called Cafe Souerette in west bend and made a change. The food is AMAZING and made with local ingredients. Staff was friendly and we sat outside in beautiful weather. What an enjoyable time we had, totally worth it!

We had an amazing meal here. I can’t believe it’s taken us so long to come back. We had the shrimp tempura and red curry potstickers. The Curry is by far our favorite thing on the menu that we’ve tried so far. It could and should be used in an entree. We would even buy just the curry alone in a pint. Can’t wait to try everything else on the menu.

Hidden gem! Farm to table with lots of great and interesting options. The unique cocktails with house made syrups were well flavored, though a little sweet for my liking. Wish the flavor was boosted up a bit in a few dishes, but everything was delicious and we can't wait to go back. Added this to our favorite date night list!

Extremely tasty food! Ordered crab cakes and walleye plate, both were outstanding and delicious. The interior has a modern and hip vibe, with some great art painted on walls and decorative tables. We came after attending the Happyday Farmhaus tulip garden. Walked into, industrial posh, VIP seating, intimate lighting, open kitchen with a top chef vibe. From the menu to live for we ordered, bacon wrapped watermelon rinds, juicy crab cakes, crispy tempura shrimp, cheesy wontons, and pizza the hutt. For dessert we were graced with velvety lemon blueberry cheesecake and the most delicate carrot cake ever created. Kara offered exceptional service and the chef checking on our food was the most gracious and humble. All I can say is TALENT!!! Will recommend and definitely return for more!!

Enjoyable meal! We started with bacon wrapped watermelon rinds. Reminded me of spiced apple rings with bacon. We also had Siracha Maple Roast Cauliflower, definitely had a kick, but not overbearing. Both celiac friendly. For dinner, i had Shakedown Crispy Chicken - yum! And friends had Chedar apple Salad and Crispy Goat Cheese Salad. Interesting flavor combinations and everyting was tasty and fresh and made with care. We would go back again!

Walked into the Precinct without reservations at about 5:30pm. The restaurant was half empty with numerous unoccupied tables. The hostess informed my wife and I that it would be a 2 hour wait since we didn’t have reservations. We have eaten there before and had good experiences but this made no sense and is very disappointing, we will not be returning.

I got a burger, it was one of the best burgers ever. Kids got pizza, super awesome. Cheese and crust were amazing. My mom got the pork dinner, she doesn't recommend, i guess it was lacking flavor. She did however love the creme Brule and the orange cranberry cake. Corn fritters and bacon wrapped rinds were also a hit. Kayla was a great waitress! Super accommodating.
I got the apple cheddar salad with chicken, it was good but almost dry, not enough dressing, cranberries or Cashews. The dressing was amazing, mad at myself for not asking for more. Good flavors on everything at the table, wait was long for food and it wasn't busy

Terrible service. All of the staff looked and acted crabby. Our server didn't know the answers to any of our questions about what was on the menu. We told our server that we wanted separate checks and when we were done, she set all of the checks in the middle of the table and said to make sure they are accurate and none of them were. We all were charged a credit card service charge for some reason. Food was OK but over priced for what you get.

This is a fun, unique little place to enjoy their special menus which has a little twist to it each time we go there. The odd part was when asking for added piece of bread, we did not expect to be charged $3.00 for it. However, the food was delicious.
Would suggest you call ahead for reservations, and for quicker service sit in the dining area vs the high tops in the bar area.

I wanted to mention to someone in management that the last two times I've been there we've had terrible service and it was the same waitress. We showed up there at 5:45 last Thursday and didn't get asked for our food order until 6:15. Numerous times we had to re ask for our drink that we say sitting on the bar for an extended period of time. By the time she came back after asking to put in an order multiple times you were sold out of TV dinners. Multiple people that came there after me and had a different waitress got a chance to have the TV dinner and got out of there before us. We didn't get our food until 7pm that i didn't get a chance to partake in because i had to go pick my daughter up from soccer practice. When the food was dropped off my wife told her to box it right away because i had to leave and didn't get any apology or remorse what so ever. I've been to your restaurant a good 15+ times and love your food and normally have great service. Just wanted to bring to your attention that the last two times with the same waitress was terrible

I wish I had taken pictures. Because what I'm about to say will not fully explain what happened... Saturday July 2nd my husband and I met my cousin and her husband for dinner at the precinct. The special of the evening was prime rib. My husband and my cousin ordered it. I got the beet salad and my cousin's husband got a meat pizza.
My salad was fine. But very little food for $18.. His pizza looked and tasted good. My husband's prime rib came out and looked like it was cooked OK but it was so tough he could barely cut it. My cousin's piece of meat was the end and it was Brown and overcooked and tough! We sent the food back.. So they both decided to get the Pan seared walleye. Another 30 minutes later their plates came out and it was some sort of boiled whitefish with no seasoning and definitely not pan seared walleye. Sent that back. 2 dishes back-to-back that were absolutely terrible. I cannot even believe they came out of the kitchen like they did!
They did not charge us for for their meals. But quite honestly I don't think they should have charged us for any of the meals.. We definitely will not be back

😘👌Nothing but care and love are going into the food with the most attention to detail. Staff appears to genuinely have a good time and enjoy what they're doing. Order the daily chef's special at the risk of getting your heart broken, because it probably won't be available ever again. I still think about my fling with that mushroom quesadilla.

Myself and a group of us were in town for a work trip in Menomonee Falls looking for a nice, quiet spot for a group dinner (after having been to a loud bar on Bucks game day the night before) that had great reviews on pizza. We were able to call to reserve a table for 10 with no issues, and upon arrival, found ample parking.
Inside the aesthetics were very sheek and modern, and the table roomy enough for our group. They only complaint was that after 20 min the wooden chairs with no padding became quite uncomfortable, and we oddly observed that the bar had very comfortable chairs... All of which were soon forgotten by the Uncle Buck and the amazing weldwerks Juicy Bits that we tapped out#
Outside of the seating arrangements, the menu had a multitude of options for the various dietary needs of our group, from pescatarian to Jewish to no restrictions at all. From the specially appetizer of croquets, to the shrimp and grits, and the main meals of pizzas from Pizza the Hutt to the sausage and cheese and the speciality hot honey, everyone raved at the preparation and the taste.
Definitely a recommend spot and wouldv return when in the area!

This was such an amazing gem of a find. From the cool concept of space to open kitchen bar seating and traditional bar seating the first impression was fantastic.
Despite some warnings about short staff our service was absolutely first rate. Every dish was well thought out, balanced with unique flavors and intentionality.
The mac and cheese is among the best we have ever tasted and the bacon wrapped pickled watermelon rind is silly good.
We loved our experience and thank you to Precinct for making this an amazing stop.

My husband and I look forward to seeing what their tv dinner special is every Thursday! It's a perfect amount of food for a very reasonable price and the quality of the food is always fantastic. We always ask what the cheesecake flavor of the day is and most of the time end up getting that too (even though the TV dinner already comes with dessert). A few weeks back they had a specialty pizza on Wednesday called the Truffle Shuffle and it was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. I would love to see it on their regular menu! We've only eaten here in person once right before the pandemic hit, but ever since then this has been our go-to for takeout anytime we don't feel like cooking.
