Stopped into for a Friday Fish Fry. Got the Blue Gills. Was absolutely amazed at the portion and deliciousness. The fish was not soaking in grease and or soggy like you see at other places. Their parmesan truffle fries are amazing! Also got some hashbrowns which they make fresh from whole potatoes, from hand (ask for diced/sautéed onions for extra deliciousness). The owner is extremely warming and encouraging to the customers gratification. Highly recommended this amazing establishment. Best in the city of Baraboo!!!

Pros: Good little local place to eat. No frills, pretty basic interior. A good menu, plenty of standards and some more interesting items too, like the "Boom Boom Cauliflower Bites" and the roasted Brussels Sprouts. Wait staff were super! Got the scallops and the portion was generous. It was seasoned well.

Cons: a lot of the food did not seem homemade. The coleslaw side was very not good - definitely tasted like too-sweet bulk cafeteria slaw that comes in a jug. Ordered an iced tea and it too tasted metallic and "canned" which was very surprising because it's the most basic thing to make fresh? The appetizers and fish were most likely bulk frozen too, they were edible but not fantastic. The scallops were cooked, but not broiled enough to get any browning.

Overall, a nice little place with decent food, no wait, and filling. Wouldn't take a date here but would stop back after a long day of hiking around Devil's Lake.

We stopped in for a sandwich. My husband order onion rings as his side for an up charge. When we got are bill, they charged us for his sandwich with fries, which he didn’t get, then charged him full price of $6.95 for the onion rings. Food was okay, nothing to write home about, service was excellent! Too bad they don’t treat their customers like their server did. This definitely is a place to stop busy IF you like burgers and sandwiches. Broccoli soup was delicious, and cheese curds were on point!! On the other hand, the waitress we had for a party of 10 was not so great. We were her only table, and she made us go to the bar to get our drinks.. This is a very small restaurant/bar (mom and pop stop). Idk if she was new, but the bartender was great, and it seemed as though they were pretty upset with our waitress. All in all, the food was great. Like I stated, we had a party of 10, so everyone got a little Something different. Not a steak house!!

Probably my favorite place in the area for lunch. They do a traditional meal with the soup and salad you don't see very much anymore.

And by far and away my favorite is a three cheese chicken that is just to die for.

I suggest going in the afternoon or earlier because for some reason it's not as good later on at night. Different cooks I assume.

Been going there for over 35 years, only place I have a sit down dinner. Well, my Parents took me out for my 57th Birthday, and I have to say, that was the worst Ribeye I have ever had. Ordered medium rare like my dad, both were rare. Dinner rools? Didn’t show up till I had waited 10 minutes for a replacement steak knife dropped on floor by waitress, and my drink, so I went and got my own. Steak now cool, rolls cold, and Garlic Green Beans? Did not taste on ounce of Garlic. Sorry, not coming back. And give that petite blonde new server only four tables before she drops a whole tray of food and drinks again in front of kitchen.

We walked in this past Friday and we were seated at a table in the corner. We waited 25 minutes and our waitress did not stop once to introduce herself, bring us water, or take our order. Another couple came in and sat across from us and she brought them water and took their order within 5-10 minutes. We got up and walked out. Nice little place with better than average food. My buddies ordered two ribeyes and two perch dinners and they all loved them. The perch had a nice little kick of spice at the end. I ordered the pan fried walleye, which was cooked perfectly but WAY too salty. 5 stars if not for the walleye.

Went for lunch on Saturday the 9th. Wife and I both wanted shrimp tacos, after the waitress left she came back and said they don't have it anymore (so, why it was still on the menu I don't know)then we ordered our 2nd choices, wife ordered a monte Cristo and she got basically a grilled ham and cheese, she didn't finish half of it. First time going. Food was utterly amazing and worth going back for. Service was the opposite. I was seated by the register so we could see each time our young server was playing on her phone. She must have forgotten to put in our food order after our soup. Five other tables that came after us got their meals before we did. Mistakes happen, wouldn't have left a review, but it got worse. We ordered ToGo tacos at the beginning of our meal. After we get our food, we were told the tacos would be ready by the time we were done. Ok. We finish, close out the tab, food must not be done. We don't see our waitress again at the table. We can see her just a few feet away, but checking her phone.
No briefing, no acknowledgement. Fifteen minutes later, still no food.
We finally ask a passing employee if we could have a refund if the tacos were not ready. He goes to her, still only a few feet away, while she was once more on her phone, and tells her what we want. She then proceeds to grab a nearby bag and hand it to us. That entire time the food was done and sitting nearby, just needed to be given to us.
Moral of this tale; cellphones are not a great addition to the work place.

I went on a sat night at 4 p.m. My server was really sweet. The food..ummm wow I was stunned by the portion size. My ribeye was gigantic, my potato was huge, and the colossal shrimp were enormous as well. The picture doesn't get the full value of what arrived at my table. And only 30.00$ for all of it. Incredible. I highly recommend. Plus ordered a piece of cake to go it was literally a pound and equivalent to 4 slices for 4.99$. What a gem this place is. Oh and it all tasted divine.

Came here and was astounded with how delicious the food was and how big the portions are for the size. When I came here I ordered the wallye with a side of corn and French fries and it was absolutely amazing and the wallye was pan fried to perfection.
