A hidden gem that is easy to miss, but once you find it you will be back! You won't see the entrance at first because of the motel, but keep going right around the corner and the door is right there. There were quite a few tables that were looking at menus so I wasn't sure how long our food would take, but we were in & out quick. Servers were busy but had drinks to us within 5 minutes. It took awhile to decide what to order, the menu has soooo many yummy options to choose from. We ended up with cheese dip, chicken quesadilla & taco salad with shredded chicken both on the lunch menu. Can i just say that both of the entrees were better than another popular Mexican restaurant in town, and alot cheaper. They also serve the lunch menu everyday of the week. What a concept! I recommend other restaurants take notice. We kept raving to each other about how much we enjoyed our food. I can guarantee that i will be telling everyone that will listen about this precious find! My hats off to the entire staff, we will see you soon.

Oh my grapes!! This food is delicious!! The reviews are spot on. I ordered on 9/5/25 & again on 9/8/25. Ordered the same thing. The pico is soooo good I ordered 2 the second time. Also added 5 grilled shrimp to my pollo california. The seasoning on the 5 grilled shrimp made them really good and it went well with my food. If youre reading this and other reviews, order. I don’t even know where to start! Hands down the best food I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant, and a menu that’s not just the usual suspects. Tons of interesting dishes to choose from and I have no doubt they’re all amazing. They also had a pretty decent-sized vegetarian section that looked very good! I had the burrito skillet which was incredible, and my wife had the bacon burrito jalapeño (warning, the jalapeño sauce is so spicy it brought tears to my eyes but dang was it good). Huge portions, delicious margaritas. The atmosphere is awesome, really cute decor and bar area, music at a nice volume, and sparkling clean. The staff were friendly, attentive and quick, and someone who I’m guessing is either the owner or manager was walking the floor checking in with diners to make sure they were having a good experience. The only downside is that it’s not right next to my house! We will definitely be making this a regular stop.

I’m surprised this place isn’t busier than I’ve seen it the half dozen times I’ve been here. Always great service, always clean, and plenty of food. If you’re deciding on where to eat Mexican in Eau Claire I would choose here hands down. The Margaritas are the best priced in town that I’ve seen. A large here would be about 4 margaritas at Cancun and is $5.00 more.

I wouldn’t come back. I ordered the Birria tacos extra crispy with cheese, but what I got was disappointing. The beef was dry, the shell was a standard corn taco (not crispy), and there was no cheese — both of the last two would’ve been totally fine if the flavor made up for it. But everything was surprisingly bland. I had to drown the consommé and tacos in salt and hot sauce just to make them edible.

It felt like the flavors were toned down to cater to people who don’t like spice or seasoning. If that’s your thing, you might like it. But for me, it completely missed the mark.

My wife and I stop at this place on our way to Country Jam and I if you’re looking for some good Mexican Style food this is the perfect place to go, I ordered tacos and they where delicious and lots of meat on it plus we like spicy salsa so you have to ask for it but they have it, my wife ordered enchiladas and she was more than pleased and satisfied with her food, needless to say the MARGARITAS are the star of the show.

Lord let me tell you about this place. Absolutely amazing be ready to feel like you were assaulted by your meal but not like tbell assault that leaves you crying. Im talking about that CNC, chokehold your meal will have on you. You'll need a safe word to force yourself to stop eating because even though your in pain from how stuffed you are, its so good you dont want to stop. Stopped in for a late lunch with my wife. The place smelled like they were staining wood. I'd been here for lunch before so even though my wife didn't like the smell of the stain in the air, I convinced her to stick it out. We were greeted and seated promptly and were brought chips and salsa, and he took our drink order and delivered that promptly as well. We also ordered a cheese dip appetizer that came out quickly.
At that point the service went from hero to zero. My wife and I figured out what we wanted, put down our menus, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for him to come back. He was back at the bar and looked to be scrolling on his phone. We tried to flag him down to indicate we were ready to order, but he wouldn't look up from his phone. So we just waited until he was done and came to take our order. Our food did arrive promptly, and as I had promised my wife it was great! Then the disappointment continued. I had a coupon for our cheese dip to be free with the purchase of two entrees. When I showed it to him before he brought us the bill, he just shook his head and said "no." No other explanation, just "no." He brought us the bill, which included the charge for the cheese dip.
The food was good. But I can make good food at home, typically better and cheaper than at a restaurant. When I take my wife out I want an experience that goes beyond the food, otherwise it's not worth the money to go out. This experience wasn't worth the money and I won't be back.

We lived in AZ, Texas and California and now in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, this food is amazing and humongous portions and low prices make Rancho Grande our #1 Mexican restaurant! We frequent this hidden gem at least two times a week as they also serve up an amazing breakfast until 3pm along with the full menu..The servers are excellent and the food literally has never taken more than 15 minutes regardless of how busy they are.The Margheritas are also primo and very inexpensive even with top shelf tequila. If you have not been there hurry and check them out I doubt you will be going to any of the other Mexican restaurants in Eau Claire..

One of our party had asked for rice and no beans, but was brought beans and no rice, not a big deal. But when she asked the server about it, the server argued with her back and forth like 3 times about how she had asked for beans and no rice (a couple of us heard her order rice no beans). The server did get a plate of rice out to the table very quickly, it was just the arguing that threw me off. Again, a tiny miscommunication, otherwise it was a fabulous place! I don't like to leave negative reviews, but here it is for those who are looking to go here for mexican food. I love Mexican food and I love fajitas. I am also not a picky eater. Unfortunately, the fajitas that they serve are covered in a sauce, unlike other places, where they simply serve the grilled veggies and meat. It made the fajitas mushy. The sauce did not taste all that great either. The carne asada was subpar: their meat had lots of fat. The rice, beans and sides were great. Large plates. The tortillas were great too. Overall, I would not pay 20 dollars for these two dishes again. Maybe other dishes are not so bad? Sorry, Rancho Grande, but this was my experience.

Not many places I'll suggest the Birria but I absolutely do here.
Nothing beats washing it down with a Mango and Chamoy Margarita 🍹 they hit well with the tequila 😋 and I really appreciate their spice levels unless you want it gringo style which if so hit a taco bell instead.
The fusion on Mexican American hits hard along with keeping traditional elements in the more traditional dishes which means spice 😀

I’m in the area for work and really wanted Mexican food!! So checked a few places and decided on this one and hands down one of the best Mexican food I’ve tried for when I travel. Usually I’ll find Mexican restaurants but the food is not authentic. From when we came in the server was very nice then he let me know what they had for the weekend and I was surprised to know they had menudo and that’s what I ordered and my family had the taco tray. Menudo was absolutely great the taste was just so gooood. And tacos de lengua were delicious. Everything tasted fresh. The guy even brought out some rice for us to try and you can taste the freshness and besides that so good too. Then our drinks were also good we had margaritas and aguas de piña.

I have dined at Cancun Grill since the second week they were open but quit going there when they started charging to use a credit card and started charging for to go orders. I was very disappointed Rancho Grande also charges for credit card usage. The salsa was great not the best I’ve had but definitely in my top 5. So I have to say the menu is both amazing and at the same time a bit overwhelming with so many choices to choose from. I ordered the chipotle burrito and my girlfriend ordered the fajita burrito. Just tried the New Mexican Restaurant 🇲🇽 Rancho Grande. Hands down the best tacos in town. Let me say I’ve went to other Mexican places in the area for years, Myself and my group could not believe how much flavour the Beef Tacos we ordered had. It was so good we immediately each ordered another taco. Later that day we wondered if we just had not had Mexican food in awhile, so we went to Cancun an ordered Beef Tacos, we were quite surprised on how they fell short, I took a picture of the Taco from Rancho Grande earlier which is on the left, an the one from Cancun is on the right. I’ve went to Cancun for years, an thought it was good stuff, but now trying them side by side, Cancuns beef barely has any flavor or seasonings, in fact it’s a pale watery white color, compared to Ranchos.

Absolutely thrilled to have a new place in town that has flavour, the prices were also more than fair at $2.75 each, It’s a beautiful place, with awesome food. We will be back to try more!

Love the interior of this restaurant. The food was delicious and the beer was ice cold. Service was attentive and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Overall a fun addition to Eau Claire.

We had the fried ground beef Chimichanga, it was on point, the meat was seasoned and juicy. I have had these at every Mexican resteraunt I’ve went too and although they were good, the one I had at Rancho Grande was by far the best. We also had the deep fried ice cream, we loved the strips of coconut crisp on it. We will be back!

First time coming in here, the food was amazing! Atmosphere was amazing and the newly renovated bar and restaurant looks so good.
