Swung through for a late lunch with a small group and couldn’t have been more happy with the experience.

Comfy seating, quick service and delicious food. Patty melt was phenomenal as was the turkey avocado club sandwich, which featured a huge slice of house smoked turkey (not the usual soggy deli meat you find elsewhere).

We stopped in during a weekend of camping after reading some reviews and talking to some locals. Awesome food. I got dry rubbed smoked wings and my wife got a bacon artichoke pizza. She loved her pizza, said it was a top contender for best she's had. I was actually upset I had pizza the night before, if I only knew... my wings were excellent nonetheless.
We got bloodys to start the day. Also very good, the right amount of spice and flavor. The staff was fast and efficient and the patio was great parts sun and shade. I forgot to check if pets were allowed on the patio. We're camping in the same area in October and we're going back, this time with friends.

Wednesday/Friday fish fried. Interesting. Over the years, I have experienced a Wednesday fish fried before, definitely not many. I’m glad they have it, and I’m glad I stopped in, not so sure if it was my first time. It’s one of those places that has a déjà vu feeling to it. This is definitely the first hard-crusted, seasoned cod I have ever had. Felt like something new and different and I got it. I have to say it was pretty tasty. MOST of the time, I rather have a light batter or just bake. More healthy for U, don’t cha know! I’m sure if I ate healthier food…most of it would be BLAND! Overall, everything is two thumbs up! Definitely would stop back for another fish fry…maybe venture for something new!

I got the Nashville Hot crispy chicken sandwich and it was 🔥! Only reason I gave a 4 is because the dressings were really thin and made the salad soupy. Just need to thicken it up a little! Service was great but are waitress was kinda rude. Asked for something and got an eye roll and a little attitude. I get when it starts getting busy but all I asked for was a white claw for the wife and got an eye roll and told it would be a bit. Other than that it was great!

Giant pretzel was awesome - loved the mustard and jalapeno popper dips. Smash burgers were great and tasted like homemade. Plus amazing service! Kids enjoyed burgers and pulled pork and playing a little beach volleyball (nice outdoor seating). We are kicking ourselves for not getting here sooner. Will absolutely be back.

I am happy to report, the food is amazing. Walleye was to die for and they have clam chowder. What a treat! If you are looking for a delicious fish fry, this is where you need to be. Great staff and very friendly.

Ok. Just needed to make an addition to my post. Just wanted to stop for some food and they came at me with Sunday brunch. OMG. Walleye and eggs, biscuits and gravy, homemade corned beef hash. It was FANTASTIC. if you are looking for a great brunch. Don't miss this one. Have plans now for Friday night and Sunday morning.

Another update: food is still amazing. Went for fat Tuesday and the crayfish was a hit and if you haven't tried the Detroit style pizza, you're missing out.

Keep up the great work. Cross Plains is lucky to have this restaurant in town.

Ordered the Friday fish fry cod dinner and a burger with fries. The cod dinner was really sad. The two pieces of fish were so small. (The photo doesn't really show it but it was really sad. More breading than fish and super salty. For 15+ dollars, I expected a lot more. The burger was good, but they served me less than 20 fries with that burger. Again, for 15ish dollars, I expected a lot more. I would not recommend their fish fry.

We stopped at Remington’s for a late lunch over Labor Day weekend driving back from Spring Green, WI. Not many people sitting outside which was fine because we had our puppy and he can be a little barky. Our server was the nicest, most helpful server ever. She was great with our kids and the puppy. The food was outstanding. They smoke their meat right out back! The outside seating is right near the street so it was a little loud with the traffic but ovwrall, the whole outside area was wonderful for the kids to play. Definitely go and order the pulled pork sandwich. Delicious! And great people.

You shouldn't have to beg a bartender or waitress that is not busy to take your order. I have had staff ignore me here after being seated too often.
During my visit today I was seated at the bar by the owner and he gave me a menu. The bartender never even acknowledged that I was even there until I finished a beer and got up from my seat. This experience is similar to about half of my visits to this place. With only 3 people at the bar, how hard would it be for a bartender to let you know he'd be with you or to take an order? The food here is pretty good here but the service SUCKS! It's too bad the staff doesn't understand that the more they sell to a guest, the more they make.
I can't wait for the Vintage to open in Cross Plains so that there is a tavern here that knows how to run a business.

Went on a Friday and got there early around 4:45pm to avoid a crowd and were surprised the dining room was empty, the bar was packed.

The reason? They have a huge outdoor seating area! A big plus! We decided to eat indoors though and take notice of everything around us.

We were seated promptly and our waitress took our drink order right away. This place is a local bar/ restaurant decor with wood paneling, video games. The full bar was quite noisy but that was the fun ambiance! The meal, not so much…

Where else can you order two piece fried cod, coleslaw and your choice of like 5 different potatoes for $13?

I chose the coleslaw and cheesy potatoes with the two piece fried cod. The meal was served in a basket with white and red checkered wax paper.

The fish was deep fried with a thick crust in two small strips. The flavor of the fish was non existent as there was a lot of bread on the very skinny, thin “fish stick” like fish. The second fish piece I could not eat 1/2 of it because it was so deep fried that it seemed like the crust took over the fish and it was hard.

I had a small cup of clam chowder soup and it had no taste. The clams were tasteless and there were only a few potatoes in the chowder. It was on the tad side of runny and I think it had dill in it also.

The saving grace was the tartar sauce which had a tad too much dill in it, but it was one of the best tarter sauces I have had.

They cheesy potatoes were good, and I wanted more. You received on scoop of cheesy potatoes as if from an ice cream scooper.

My dinner date had the bacon ranch chicken roll up and the presentation was nice. You got a huge roll up! Again, you could pick what potato you wanted and went with fries, really really good thick cut fries! The seasoning on the fries was good.

So, maybe I picked the wrong food, but I would not order the fish again. Would I come back again? I might and try something else, into wanted to like this food due to the reviews

We met up with friends at Remington's for Sunday breakfast. It was my first visit and it was easy to see why our friends suggested this spot. We found plenty of parking and were welcomed immediately by multiple staff. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the French toast bread pudding and a side of crispy bacon. Both were delicious! Everyone's eggs were perfectly cooked to their preference. The chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy looked great.

Turkey avocado and bacon club sandwich on toasted sour dough with house salad was so yummy. The turkey is smoked in house - no deli meat here! My husband had the lightly batter fried cod with herb batter and he was raving about it. His came with some delicious cheesy potatoes and coleslaw. Would definitely return! The pulled pork sandwich is marvelous! The mixed greens as a side are also very, very good - well above average for a side salad. Actual mixed greens, grape tomatoes, and cucumber with a beautiful balsamic vinaigrette (which is actual balsamic, not the gross, sweet balsamic reduction).
The lemon -pepper baked walleye on Friday is also quite good. The cheesy potatoes are as cheesy and you could hope.
