Food was fine, service was average/good but it was really surprising and disappointing to find a service.chaege and pre-charged 20% tip on our bill for a party of 3. Im a strong believer in tipping, but tipping should always be optional. Between this bad policy and a hidden service charge, I won't be going back. This decision by some restsurants recently is my filter for places and whether or not I'll ever return. Lots of other places that offer good food and service for my hard earned cash.

I debated on 1 or 2 stars because of our experience. Food, service & atmosphere were good. However, when the bill came it seemed high and there was only a total on the bill, no breakdown of what was purchased. I asked for a receipt with the total bill and itemized charges and after waiting a while the bill came and there was a $10 service fee for our table, a party of 2!!!! We have never been billed like this before. A larger table of 6 or more sure but a party of 2 people charging a $10 service fee. Too many other Mexican restaurants to visit locally that don’t nickel and dime. CHECK YOUR BILL!!!!! A surprising hidden sitting fee may await you souring the taste of any good food.

Authentic Mexican food. Steak taco was just perfect. Chicken enchiladas with green sauce were nice. I prefer red sauce, but they didn't ask what kind of sauce I wanted, so assuming green (& mole) are the only choices. That shouldnt decrease their reciew, by all means. My waitress was very kind. It was clean even though it was under construction. It wasn't busy so the waiter was very attentive. We tried the breaded chicken (their version of a kids chicken tender/nugget) with fries, a steak taco, and a chicken taco. We were never served water and had to order drinks and ask for chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a mild bite to it, but it just didn't have enough flavor. My kid did not like the chicken, but stated that the fries were crispy and delicious. The steak taco was tender and delicious. The chicken taco was not very good. It didn't really have any flavor and was overloaded with lettuce and sour cream. They did offer red and green sauces for the tacos and they were the typical run of the mill type. Neither was very flavorful. If you like this type of general run of the mill fare, then you will appreciate it.

I recommend:

Taco De Lengua: 6 in. corn tortilla filled with toung marinated in salsa verde. Topped with onions, cilantro and lime wedges.

Taco De Tripa! At El Pazon: 6 in. corn tortilla filled with tripe. Topped with onions, cilantro and lime wedges.

This place is certainly a hidden gem in terms of Mexican restaurants in Madison! Let’s just say when the restaurant has Tripe or Lengua tacos you’re in a great place! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here! I’m sure their other tacos are great but their Lengua and Tripe was my favorite! Also the tripe you want to order that crispy ;) so much flavor! The food is incredible. The complimentary salsa has a bit of a kick and the margarita is strong, so beware. The staff is courteous. Found this place looking for tacos and I'm definitely going to say they did not disappoint. I got a burrito instead of tacos. The burrito was a nice size with red sauce green sauce and sour cream and it looked like a flag. They also offered chips and salsa when I sat down. The salsa was to thin for my liking I prefer chunkier salsa n more Cilantro. 😋 will b bk for another taco Tuesday. The was Service phenomenal... but $15.80 after tax for a burrito... over price for favorite rice...but did Smell delicious, tasted good but not for $15 and a lot of rice, lettuce, not as much meat... but did taste all ingredients together. green sauce was okay. Hot sauce was hot 🔥

Delicious and authentic Mexican food that touches your soul on the first bite. My tiny 9 year old daughter ate 4 carnita tacos bc they were THAT good and they serve you with green and red sauce without having to ask for them, oh yes, and they use the good tortillas too! Go here, you’ll be happy you did. I took one star off bc they took a minute to get our food out and even served a table that came in after we had placed our order, meaning they got their food before we did. Normally I don’t care about things like that, but with a one year old, timing is everything and patience is a virtue.

Food is good, but overpriced. No price on menu for drinks, so be prepared. I also must note that they try to charge you twice for tips. The initial receipt included a 15%tip, then when they brought out the credit card receipt for signing, the itemized ticket had disappeared, and the new receipt had check boxes for pre-set tips. $70 for one entree, one sandwhich and two drinks is just too much.

Just ate their ‘Bistec ala Mexicana’ and loved it. Really good flavor and the beans had a very nice consistency ( not too liquidy or too thick). portions are bigger than other places and the dinner plate comes with rice, beans, vegetables, fried jalapeño, lime, and tortillas. Too bad I can’t rate 0 stars. My family and I planned to eat here today. I arrived early and had to use the bathroom. Upon entering, the lady told me their restrooms are for paying customers only. Not knowing that I was waiting for my party of 12 to arrive. I walked out and noticed a restaurant El Jalapeño. Went in and they allowed me to use their facilities, no questions asked. I was really looking forward to eating here but since I wasn’t allowed access to their bathroom, my family and I decided to give our money to the guys next door. El jalapeño! Our bill was around $300 with all of us together. A few from my family have been in the service industry, so we enjoy tipping big. I gave $100 tip and a few others gave $20-$50 tips! You guys missed out on nearly $500, just because
You wouldn’t let me use your bathroom! Next time, allow your customers access, you never know how much they are trying to invest in you!

One day I decided to try both restaurants. Panzon and the one next to it. Let me tell you! I couldn't even take one bite of the tacos from the restaurant next door without wanting to throw up, but when I took one bite of the Pazon tacos it was the best thing ever! First of all, they were like 15 min from closing but that didn't stop them from giving me the best service. Waitress was and always is so nice and outgoing. Tacos had a great taste and great amount of meat. I highly recommend this place. 💯💯 (and the candies too)

The inside is new, clean and decorated like an outdoor patio of a corner house in a small town, complete with a candy stand.
