We recently dined at Reunion, and really enjoyed our meal.
The food was delicious, the sides outstanding, and service was attentive. Most of the menu is gluten free, as well, with vegan options, too.
The restaurant is located in an historic bank building, which they have converted to a lovely restaurant. There is also an outdoor, pet friendly patio as well.

I've had many meals here, but I wanted to share we just celebrated my mother's 84th birthday here on Saturday night and she's still raving. She says it may be the best meal she ever had. She and I both had the pulled pork dinner and she didn't even want any sauce; she thought the pork was wonderful by itself.

So glad the business is thriving. The owners are good people and our town needs this restaurant AND THE FOOD IS SO GOOD.

Great folks. Great bbq. Also please keep in mind that like all of these negative reviews are coming from a brewing company known for being a bully and leech. Maybe actually look into Reunion's whole shtick before coming after a locally owned business. Reunion has good people and supports its neighbors AND great food.

Excellent, creative food and drink. The Family Traditions cocktail was so, so good! The fried saltines were a terrific idea, and went so well with the pimento cheese and the salmon spread. BBQ chicken was very flavorful, and not dry. And whoever thought up the fried potato salad deserves a James Beard award. My god but it was good. Lima beans were very nice (and kudos for even having Lima beans in the menu!) but needed a bit of salt; an easy fix. Terrific space inside an old bank. The only clunk was the service: my order got bollixed up, but staff were quick to correct it as much as they could. It happens. All in all a terrific place. Well done, folks. It wasn’t the healthiest meal ever, but it sure was good!

We have had two fantastic meals here since July. Big table of 8 and a second dinner for two right before closing. Both were remarkably wonderful! Cocktails were thoughtful and delicious. Chicken sandwich and brisket sandwich were outstanding. Prices are very fair. The potato salad should not be missed. Service at the bar and tables were great. We will be back.

Atmosphere is classy kitch. Staff friendly, helpful and hussling. Like the meat and veg options. Beer prices a pleasant surprise. Sadly, grits were not smooth and creamy but undercooked, a disappointment. Fries came out just warm. Zucchini with ricotta a dreamy dish, so good. Portions for the pulled pork plate substantial, BBQ sauce a winner. We will be back.

I really miss the menu of the previous Reunion but I understand that it was not a viable business model out here in the country… We came in to try the BBQ and overall it is good, but not standout. The dishes are hit and miss depending on what’s ordered. I’d recommend the brisket, German potato salad, and corn salad. I’d skip the Mac and cheese and the coleslaw… unfortunately everything on my plate was bland but my partners selections were great. It makes it hard for me to recommend because based on what you order, you could have an incredible experience or a meh one! Also do watch the prices on the receipt, we were overcharged based on the menu price but they were able to correct it for us without too much awkwardness.

My wife and I just moved to town. We came here without a reservation and got lucky to get a table. The food was amazing!! The drinks and service were also top notch!! Crisp cocktails, great service, and excellent food. The restaurant is converted from an old bank and we loved the quaint details of the space. Staff were attentive, friendly and informative. Vegetarians and meat-eaters alike will find a variety of options and leave satisfied. Please try the lima beans, even if you think you don’t like lima beans! Some other table favorites were the fried potato salad, the white bbq sauce (put it on literally anything), and the collard/pimiento cheese melt.

I really wanted to love this place, but for me, the food was just okay. I ordered the chicken (white meat) with mac & cheese and baked beans. The highlight of the meal was definitely the BBQ sauce—it had great flavor.

What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere and service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly and attentive. For those reasons, I’m giving it a 3.

First time going to this place, and it was AWESOME! Everything, the atmosphere, the service. The food was delicious, I made a reservation for my husband's birthday in the dining room, but the host offered the hallway because they have a little corner for kids!! (That was the 2nd green flag, the first was the guy's attitude) My kiddo loved the area. Our server Rusty was extremely good, he was super helpful and kind to my 3yo kid, he offered us the specials which were Salmon and Brisket, we chose the brisket and we weren't disappointed, super rich in flavor and moisture and the Salmon dip as an entrée is GOOOOOOOD!
At the end, I asked him for a piece of cake or pie, and he offered me the crust cherry pie (OMG) I can't stop saying good things about this place! Is just Amazing!

I'll definitely be back! My wife and I ate here before heading to a Wednesday evening play at APT. I had the dark meat chicken, and she went with the pulled pork. We were hoping for a high-quality smoked meal—and we weren't disappointed.

The entrées weren't huge, but they were full of flavor. As for the sides, they were solid all around. My favorite was the collard greens, followed by the corn, fried potato salad, and baked beans. We also had a hush puppy starter, desert and coffee.

The prices were fair, the service was excellent, and overall, it was a great experience. I'm looking forward to coming back on a weekend to try the brisket!

Great experience at Reunion Family BBQ!

I ordered a half chicken, collards, fried potato salad, a house Negroni and passion fruit margarita. They did a great job making the old bank look like a warm and welcoming eatery with a unique allure. The staff was attentive and friendly. They were also genuinely excited about the menu offerings and the ownership. The food was great. Collards had deep flavor, you could tell the owners spent time in The South. The fried potato salad was a unique and great twist on a Midwest classic. And the bird was tender and juicy. Prices were also very reasonable, especially when they’re paired with local meats and a nice atmosphere. Worth the drive from Madison. Looking forward to my next visit.

Our first time to Reunion, having been to the previous 2 or so places here. Still a beautiful location in an old bank. We sat in the front bar area, very pleasant. Had the $75 sampler platter. It was perfect for 3 adults. Said it came with 4, waiter said 6, we got 5. All sides were very good, lima beans, corn salad, collard greens, fried potato salad, Mac and cheese. Not sure what we missed. 😉 Sauces were great as well. As were our drinks. Took our desserts to go to APT. Key lime was great, chocolate mousse was mousse. ☺️ Definitely recommended.

Great atmosphere in an old bank. We were seated in the actual vault. I had the chicken with vinegar sauce. It was great. The fried potato salad was delicious. I should have gotten it for both sides. I had never been to Reunion before it's transformation to a BBQ place so can't compare what it was like then but my husband wanted to try it for Father's Day. After some slight hiccups in communication we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately the lunch menu is very limited which wasn't clear on the website but what we did have was really good. The meats were well flavored and delicious, the sides were excellent. Local high quality ingredients are used as much as possible. Everything is made from scratch and with care. We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu since I was especially curious about the tofu burnt ends entree. If anyone can make tofu taste great it will be these people. Service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The restored old bank building was comfortable and fun with plenty of room between tables. All and all a very good experience.

In Spring Green for an afternoon. No reservations. Sat and ate at bar. Temp on the cool side-refreshing on a warm day. Attentive bartender. Good drinks (especially the mojito-like South Side and Negroni).
Hush puppies for an app-recommend.
Both ordered 1/2 rack ribs with sauce on side, grits, fried potatoes, corn salad and collard greens for sides. The sides were very good. Unfortunately, the meat on the ribs, though quite tasty, held to the bone a little more than expected. Cutting a rib from the rack took a little effort. Maybe my expectations were off. Mayve we should have come later, not at opening time. Nevertheless, a delicious meal. Another diner at the bar ordered the brisket-solid portion and very tender. Might have that, or one of the sandwiches, on our next visit to the area.

We drove 1 hour from the Madison area for a birthday dinner and were pleasantly surprised by this extremely well ran establishment. Staff was extremely personable and always had a smile on their face. Food was extremely original with their own flare on every plate all the way down to the potato salad side. Flavor was great and we left with full stomachs without that feeling of overeating. Pricing was fair and drinks were decently priced. Would go back for sure. Give it a shot! We got to return to the new version of Reunion tonight and it did not disappoint! The menu had a wide range of options to make my meat-eating husband and my vegetarian self very happy. The hush puppies were out of this world. I appreciated the jackfruit barbecue option and thoroughly enjoyed my two sides (succotash and potato salad). My husband enjoyed the 1/3 rack of ribs option which helped him save room for dessert. We left happy and full and will definitely be back!

All of the food we had was delicious ( Shrimp & Grits, Arancini, Seared Cabbage, Reunion Burger with Fries, Beet Salad, and Bombolini). The drinks were good, but pretty pricey. The flavor of the food was ok.

My biggest complaint was the portion sizes. The appetizer and salad were described as sharing sizes, but what we got was about enough for one person. The pasta was just a couple noodles and a very small pinch of meat, hardly enough to notice. The steak came with a tiny smear of potatoes that you really had to look to find.

My girlfriend and I are pretty thin. We ate an appetizer, a salad and each got an entree. We shouldn't walk away hungry after spending $125 on two meals.

This is our second time at Reunion and I’m glad we made a point of hitting it up again. Though we couldn’t grab a table with all the reservations, we made a fine night of it at the bar, where Jack kept us in good spirits with his amazing cocktails and knowledge of the local food scene. If they still have the Prairie Fire, make sure to get two for yourself and one to share.

We had the Beets, Mussels, House Salad and Brussels Sprouts—which came out before the whole block lost power, and all of which were beautifully plated, delicious and filling (it seems they have increased their portion sizes). After the power came back on, we had both of the pastas. The ricotta ravioli was a standout.

Maybe we’re using Chicago prices as an unfair referent, but for the number of cocktails and dishes we had—especially considering the environment and service—our bill felt like getting away with murder. Thanks for the fine night guys!

What an honor it was to spend an evening at Reunion. We were greeted first by Hannah and then Jack the mixologist. Each drink was made with the freshest of both liquor and accompaniments. The interior is really cute. That’s kind of where the charm ends. The food is mediocre at best. The pappardelle was good but the portion for the price was stingy. The cheese board was good, but it’s hard to screw up a cheese board in Wisconsin. The Whitefish Hash brown was mushy and drowning in tartar sauce. The chicken cutlet was over breaded and mushy because of the tomato sauce poured over it. Why create a crispy crust and then destroy it by pouring the sauce on top? It was supposed to be accompanied by a shaved fennel salad. That amounted to two pieces piled on top of the mushy chicken. We were also not given the same service as the table next to us by our server, Steven. He seemed to avoid our table and I am not really sure why. He did not give us the same customer experience as the guests in the room around us, did not offer us a dessert menu and it took him almost 20 minutes and us having to wave him over for him to bring our check. If he was very busy, we would completely understand and have all the patience in the world, but it seemed like a choice. He checked on every other table in our section and actively avoided ours, there were moments which he was just standing against the wall waiting for something to do. It’s disappointing because we were really looking forward to seeing what Reunion had to offer.

In all honesty the food just wasn’t good, especially for the high price point. The cheeses on the cheese board were nice, but they are basically served with the saltiest crackers and nothing else. The chicken sandwich was inedible between the overly dry fried chicken and the soggy bun. The Shirley temple I ordered wasn’t sweet at all, and when I asked what it was made with, I was told that instead of grenadine, which is POMEGRANATE flavored, they use a cherry syrup, effectively making it not a Shirley temple at all. I took one sip, and couldn’t drink any more of it.

Maybe the best meal I’ve ever had and such an unexpected treat while in town visiting from Colorado. The service was absolutely lovely and let us take up a table for nearly two hours. I think we ordered half the menu and the wine selection was superb. Our server even sent over their beverage director to help us choose on a bottle. Love seeing the farms listed by name for the ingredients and the seared turnips with chard pesto was so good we tried to recreate it at home. Will absolutely make a point to visit the next time I’m in the area.

Edit: Oh my god! I forgot about the cocktails! Just the cherry on top of a perfect meal. Absolutely delightful and well balanced.

Excellent service and ambiance but the food was overcooked (especially the halibut, which was very dry) and undercooked (the turnip dish). The server kindly sent the halibut back and provided us with a salad and did not charge us. Plenty of potential but attention to detail lacking.

The dessert was excellent, but the agnolotti entrée was so small, I left hungry. I was puzzled when it arrived. There were maybe six or seven small pieces of pasta on the plate. Also, it was begging for a piece of bread to wipe up the sauce. The sauce was more like a broth, though, very thin, and the food was not even room temperature when I got it. I ended up stopping at another restaurant on the way home for a snack.

Reunion exceeded our expectations. It felt more like we were dining in a fine restaurant in a world class city than in a small Wisconsin town. Bravo chef for the amazing culinary experience. We had the arancini, and cod hashbrown for starters. For the entree we had the red snapper which was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the papardelle with pork ragout. Not only were the dishes delicious, but the presentation was beautiful. And the desserts!!! The panna cotta and semolina cake were just divine. Everything was excellent. Thank you for a lovely evening. We’ve found our new date night spot.

We loved our dinner at Reunion, which is housed inside the old Bank. Everything is locally sourced and/or homemade. True farm-to-table in an elevated cuisine. We started with the Lion’s Mane Mushroom and the Asparagus (“garden” dishes), and had the Papardelle (with wonderful Enos farms whole hog ragu) and the Agnolotti. Finished with the Chocolate malt cookie skillet and an Amaro Montenegro.

I really enjoyed the apps and drinks but the steak was stringy. On top of that, the steak 🥩 was not let to rest which turned the potatoes into soup. Also the fat was not rendered. We basically went hungry since the entrees were inedible.

I was on a date night with my wife and did not want to ruin the night by starting something with our waiter who was indifferent. In the past, I have had waiters who immediately noticed that the steak was cooked wrong and took it back themselves after letting me cut into it. They are experts in the food they are serving and I shouldn't have had to say anything and ruin the night. It was visibly cooked wrong and our waiter was inattentive and had to get his attention a couple of times. I was not sure if anyone actually cared at this point. As far as the one star review, other restaurants in the area have exceeded my expectations and I have given them great reviews that were earned. Neighboring cafes and restaurants are easily 5 stars. No issue. The bulk of the price of my meal was the steak but I wanted to highlight that other things were good. I would have honestly just left an email address to contact you instead of being passive aggressive. I wanted to provide constructive criticism rather than posting a picture of a messed up steak that will stick longer than the review.

The poor cut beef was stringy, super fatty, and not well rendered, so it was a tough and rubbery piece of meat. Also the beef dish wasn’t rested so it was a soupy mess on top of potatoes. I left the beef because it was inedible. The steak knife which was dull could barely slice through it. The beef I got did not match the pictures of other diners. Honestly, I should have taken a picture of the unfortunate dish, but I was hungry and from out of town and wanted to leave.

The portion size for the ravioli was also too small. It was one small raviolo for $22 which was like an appetizer. We left hungry. We would not return.

The burgers/ homemade fries and cocktails were delicious and worth the price however the pasta dishes although also good were not worth the price because the portion size were very small. It was so small, it was barely an appetizer. We were told portion sizes a few months ago were much , much bigger. The short rib ravioli dish had only 1 medium sized ravioli for $22 and the cheese filled tube pasta consisted of approximately 7 thumb size pieces for $20. Not worth the price. Went home hungry.

I wish I had taken photos because everything was so beautiful, but I couldn’t help but eat it before it crossed my mind. Everything was just perfection, my husband ordered pork and it was local and juicy and the flavor was on point, my brother said his house made pasta dish was amazing and I asked them to plate two sides as my main which they did beautifully and it was utterly fabulous. This place is an absolute vibe. The interior alone is reason enough to visit. The attention to detail is impeccable. I came for brunch and the food was excellent! We had the Turkish eggs and a fantastic florentone with sweet braised greens which was really, really good.They cook their poached eggs in some kind of vessel that keeps them perfectly round. I'm not a huge fan of runny eggs, so they were perfect for me. But they may be a little overdone for runny egg fans. Do not sleep on the cinnamon roll, even though it will mean that you have definitely ordered way too much food. Great service as well. Highly recommend!

Update! My first review was made very close to their opening week, so I am happy to report back that the few small issues I had the first time I went there were totally resolved. Their price point is completely appropriate for the level of service and food that they are offering. The food was just heavenly, and I felt like the portions and quality of the food was amazing. Reunion was very good, and for only being open a bit more than a week, the service was exceptional. The food was all solid, and the drinks were very good. It would be nice if their website was fully active so a preview of their menu is fully visible. The only downside was that for the price point, the portions were just not there. I'm not a big eater, but it would have been nice to have bread service or sides available to supplement the mains. But overall, we were happy and will be back

The food was extraordinary, with great care taken in presentation and fresh, local ingredients. Sadly, our service was rushed and abrupt. We were a party of 7 but it was not busy, so no reason to rush us along. Most notably, one in our party received our meal 8-10 minutes after the rest of us, then the server began asking to clear plates while we were still eating. Also, we ordered a bottle of wine which the server didn’t bring to the table, but opened it elsewhere then served overfilled glasses. (Then immediately asked if we wanted another bottle before we’d taken a sip.)
Again, we were impressed by the food but wished we’d had a better service experience.

We had a nice time on my fiancés birthday at Reunion. Our server Brad was young enthusiastic guy and did a great job making sure we were enjoying ourselves, although service the whole night was slow. We sat off the main room with the bar as it was chilly and def a less romantic vibe and more well lit. We really enjoyed the meatball app, the mussel dish and the dessert was fantastic. The craft cocktails are on par with any nice place in Madison, and we presented beautifully! The menu rotates frequently and the ingredients and fresh and local! What a gem for Spring Green, well worth the trip from Stoughton.

Had dinner there last night, but the online menu didn't match the menu we received. Both my wife and I thought the food was oily and heavy.  She had the shrimp and grits and I had the chicken sandwich and homemade chips which I couldn't eat.  We had the charred cabbage and a salad, both oily. The service took a very long time, 1&1/2 hours. I would recommend their other restaurant, Homecoming over this one. Flavors were good but far too oily.

We had a fabulous evening at your restaurant. Addie was our waitress and she was absolutely fantastic. We were a party of six going to the theatre following dinner. She was direct and gave us clear direction so could have a great dining experience and still get to the play in a timely manner.

Happened to get lucky and get into Reunion on the only night we were in town. The building and the aesthetic is fantastic, and the atmosphere was really fun and upbeat, with a lot of diversity of ages in the crowd. This was my first experience at Reunion. I’m a local resident of the area. I entered the restaurant with optimism. Upon entry, the ambiance of the restaurant was bright and inviting. Having taken a seat at the bar, I was told that my wife and I might not be able to eat at the bar given the potential for a busy evening. This was followed by the bartender telling me he ran out of the spirit I asked for. Then being told what was already gone on the menu items. We relaxed and “went with flow”. Our main course was the pasta. Good, but the portion was more of what I’ve experienced as an appetizer. When I received my bill, I was a bit shocked. The cost didn’t match the portions nor size of the cocktails. I applaud the effort to establish a new restaurant here, but quality as well as quantity should match the price point. I hope the Reunion management understands the customer base and takes this feedback in stride.

Wow what an amazing new restaurant! The decor is beautiful and the chairs are so comfortable and unique!

Service was perfect and our food and multiple rounds of drinks arrived minutes after ordering. I don't believe I have seen faster service, ever.

The food was all delicious and very reasonably priced. Standouts were the heirloom tomatoes and the unique deviled eggs! The desserts were beautiful, refreshing and delicious.
