The chicken dumpling soup was good. Had to send back Brandy old fashioned sweet; tasted like it was made with whiskey. It was not sweet at all. Ordered two prime rib dinners medium well. One plate covered in blood and neither pieces of meat or even warm to the touch. I had a better baked potato last week at a different restaurant. A waste of $122 but a lesson learned. Won't be going back. There were people swearing and yelling at sports on the TV in the bar where I was trying to enjoy a prime rib dinner with my mother and my young daughter. It was pretty unappealing overall.

The brandy old fashion sweet was not sweet, the replacement blue Hawaii I think was not good either I asked for a med prime rib not so much pink, it was barely warm when it arrived it was raw and swimming in fluid when I cut into it flavorless like it was microwaved and not long enough to even make it hot
The guy in the bar room swearing at the brewer game also made me cringe several times
we had my gd with. Won't be back.

Ricky's is in the former Wegner's Restaurant location, in St. Martins. We visited on a Friday, and had the Friday Fish Fry. My friend had the 3-piece Cod dinner, and I chose the Friday Fish Fry Sampler. The Sampler had Walleye, Cod, Lake Perch. I love the lighter batter/coating! The Homemade Potato Pancakes with Maple Syrup are very good too. Rye Bread, Coleslaw, Tartar Sauce compliment the dish. $22.95 for the Sampler - but worth it! All the fish was perfectly done -great job. Lorie, our server, was courteous & friendly. A bit quiet there for a Friday afternoon, but it was easy to talk, so that was a plus. They also have ice cream drinks, so maybe a place for a Pink Squirrel or Grasshopper if you're inclined.

Used to be Werner's. Fish Fry , worth the price for what you get. Add a couple Brandy Manhattans and your good to go. Our Friday fish stop. Staff is attentive, parking a little tight but doable.

Very pleased with our food and service. Very accommodating staff. We had the burger and fries. It was a good size burger. Took 1/2 the burger home. Some items were pricey but portions were good size. They do have daily specials. Nice place to stop after church services.

What a makeover! New ownership picked right up where the previous owners left off. Still my favorite perch fish fry and potato pancakes. Bar has a great selection of Bourbons and Scotches.

Was excited to try this new restaurant and see how they fixed up the inside, but the giant bar still takes over most of the first room, and they barely remodeled the other room. Was hoping for a new look with a smaller bar and more tables and chair seating. Bathroom still has a weird configuration also. Well, we are not going to let that get us because it is a small business and things like that are expensive.

We arrived at 6 PM on a Saturday, there were only two prime rib pieces left, but we had four people interested. So that was disappointing. Also heard the table next to us come in 15 minutes later to find out that there was no prime rib, I’m sure they were also disappointed.

Unfortunately, the prime rib was very tough. Prime rib ordered medium rare should be very buttery and soft, but it wasn’t. Food came out at different times at the table. We mentioned something to the waitress and they were very apologetic, gave us a discount and even a gift card to come back. We really want this place to work out so we will be back to try a fish fry some other time. Hamburgers were very good.

Was disappointed that the menu hadn’t changed much from the old restaurant. They could use some new chicken and pasta dishes.

Would like to say the staff is great! They actually are trying to improve with each customer and took our suggestions to heart. I’m sure they will be better every day because of the care and pride in their restaurant.

You can tell the team is working hard to build the brand! This is a small place as it is, so it always feels cozy, or if your a pessimist, crowded. The service was excellent and the fish fry was solid! Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu!!

First time here. Gentleman at the door was very kind and held the door and greeted us. Part of our party was seated at the bar. However, when I sat, the bartender was directly infront of me for several minutes and never even acknowledged me. She was very concerned about the lemon container and where it was sitting however. I had to finally say excuse me to get her attention. Once at our table our waitress Leah was so sweet and was very understanding of some of our parties dietary needs. Definitely a highlight of the meal. Kudos to her. Fish platter and Wurst platter were very good. Dont recommend the garlic butter noodles or potato pancakes. Definitely lacking flavor. Unsure if I'd try again.

Came tonight for a fish fry and was very impressed. Got baked that Came with rice pilaf and vegetables changed that to potato pancakes with usual sides. I was very impressed especially with the pancakes. Have to go and try a steak sometime. Came back a couple of weeks later and the baked fish was terrible. Under cooked and no flavor. Don't understand how places are good one time and terrible the next.

Really was hoping this would be great, but the experience wasn't great. Had 5:30 reservations, arrived at 5:25 and had to wait 45 mins for our table, so that was a rough start. The relish tray was a few pickled peppers, and a radish or 2, very unimpressive. The bread was neither fresh nor warm. We placed our order, all 4 of us ordered dinners that included soup or salads. After waiting about 30 mins, our server arrived with our entrees, the salads had never been served to us. The prime rib special was overcooked and not flavorful at all. Took a chance on a piece of pie for dessert, but that was burned and should never have been served. An email to the owner describing our experience went unanswered. Probably won't try this place again.

We were excited to try this place. Sadly the food was a miss. I ordered a spinach salad as a side but took it home and added some hard boiled eggs. Any spinach salad with bacon dressing I’ve had at other restaurants always came with hard boiled eggs.
My husband & I both had the beef stroganoff special which was a huge miss. The too thin sauce should be simmered to cook the sauce, veggies & meat to delicious tender comfort food. Instead, the onions & mushrooms were crunchy and every piece of tough meat had fat on it. Since the sauce wasn’t cooked low & slow enough to even cook the onions & mushrooms, the fat didn’t render and the meat didn’t get tender. This was a huge disappointment at $24 which was high even if it was cooked properly. The 2nd picture is my side plate with hard fat I had to bite off of every piece of tough meat.
We both got the cream chicken & rice soup as our side and the soup was very thin with hardly any chicken, rice or veggies. I counted 3 grains of rice in my soup. It was basically a broth.
We didn’t care for the bun either. It was dry & flavorless.
We will give it one more try off the regular menu hoping for a win next time.
The service was good and 3 different people said good night to us as we left.

The baked fish was unseasoned and had an off-taste. The clam chowder was just okay and very basic. We had to ask for lemon, and it was provided from the bar lemon slices, not wedges. We got one each after asking for them.

It seemed like mid-cafeteria food at a much higher price.

The service was decent. The server was nice enough, but you could tell they were a little overwhelmed.

The atmosphere is pretty dissapointing. There are areas that are very brightly lit, and areas along the wall that have almost no lighting. It seems like there should be some wall sconces or at least some strip lighting. We couldn't see the menu or the food without using a flashlight or phone. The fake candle on the table was out.

I like cozy and can deal with being squished a bit, but this wasn't cozy. It was just uncomfortable.

Some tables are about as close as you can put them together, so much so that someone at the table next to you has to move for you to get in and out.

All 5 of our party enjoyed their meals. The steaks were melt in your mouth good, and the German dinners were outstanding. The staff was courteous, prompt and attentive, and the atmosphere is very casual and friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions of food. A higher end dining experience, without the higher end prices .

Others will probably love this place, but in my opinion, except for new furniture and paint it's just a more expensive St. Martin's Inn. The food is expensive, ($12 for 3 Reuben rolls cut in half, but to be fair, they were delicious) the tables are still close to each other so you can hear the conversation at the next table, but on the other hand, the service is excellent! If you're looking for fine dining, you may want to look elsewhere.

We went for Friday fish fry. It was crowded, and we had an hour wait, so hung out at the bar. Drinks were good, especially the sour old fashions. For appetizers, we ordered the reubin rolls. They were fabulous, fried but not greasy at all, they were light and crispy. My husband and I each got a bowl of clam chowder and opted to split the fish sampler consisting of perch, cod and walleye. The soup was good, light and creamy, not thick or starchy like so many are. Our companions ordered onion soup but the restaurant was out of it, so they got the clam chowder and liked it as well. The fish sampler was great. The breading was light and tasty, maybe with a hint of garlic? Servings were ample. I liked the perch best, our companions liked the walleye best. I didn't have any, but everyone else at the table commented on how good the fries were. The drink that I ordered, vodka and club (the same drink I had at the bar), came as vodka and tonic. I sent it back and got the same thing. I don't know if perhaps the lines were switched at that end of the bar or the bartender didn't know the difference between club soda and tonic, but I gave up after the second try. We were not charged for it. All of the staff, from the owner to bartenders to wait staff, and especially the bus staff were all very cordial and were really busting their butts. Stellar job! I typically do not like fried or bar food, but I'd be happy to return for the fish fry. Recommended!

I was there when it was Wagners. To loud and small. Lay out of the bar being next to the kitchen made it very hard on the servers trying to serve food. Would I go back...I don't think so.

Had a side dish of garlic butter pasta that had absolutely no flavor, no juice and was terrible dry. Asked for cheese, don't bother with the store bought parm. Had a glass of white wine for 11.00 a glass and was definitely disappointed by the amount or lack of wine i received. Way too pricey for the short change glass of wine. Sorry I didn't take a picture of my glass!

I have to give our dining experience the highest rating. My only issue was an item on the bill. I ordered a Bombay Gin on the rocks and was totally surprised to see they charged me for the gin but also charged me $2.50 for the rocks. They did not charge me extra for the rocks (ice) in the soda's my grandchildren purchased, but did for a cocktail. I will most likely go back but will now drink water or a beer.

I’m rating this place a 3 out of 7. Atmosphere was nice, service was okay but the food was just mediocre. Tartar sauce was yucky, the coleslaw was skimpy and the fish was bland. (Perch and Cod). Didn’t like the fries either. Bummer was hoping for a go to place. 😢

My mother just passed and we decided to visit one of her favorite luncheon spots which had been transitioned to Ricky’s Double Barrel and we had the BEST Rueben and burgers for lunch not to mention the stellar bloody Mary’s! We highly recommend this restaurant for lunch OR dinner because they maintained some of the old menu and we just love that Franklin has these incredible little food and bar joints for us common folk who simply love good drink and food. Best of business to this little star!!! The Baumgart Sisters

I highly recommend Ricky's Double Barrel Inn! The atmosphere is warm and inviting as soon as you walk in the door. Our waitress, Sue, was friendly, polite, and attentive. We tried the veal scallopini, chicken cordon bleu, and chicken parmesan. Each entrée was a generous portion of food and they were all delicious! We also splurged and ordered the turtle cheesecake and tiramisu. Again, a generous portion and equally delicious. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other dishes they offer!

I was delighted to be included in the official soft opening of Ricky’s Double Barrel. My wife and I sat with two other friends and were able to sample several of the menu items tonight. We had the veal scallopini, the porterhouse and chicken parmesan. The porterhouse steaks were both seasoned and cooked to perfection, no extra seasoning or sauce otherwise needed. The large portion of Parmesan chicken was so tender you could almost cut it with one finger. The veal scallopini was tender and savory, with perfectly sautéed squash and mashed potatoes. The soup of the day was cream of broccoli, which had great flavor that sat on the tongue. And the croutons that came with the side salad were very flavorful. As for the dessert we had the turtle cheesecake, and if the rest of dinner had been horrible, we would have come back just for that. Overall, our experience was excellent and we will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Sadly I ate too quickly to take photos! But there’s always next time!
