My wife and used to go here often for the beef sandwich. It's just too expensive, it's over $10 now just for the sandwich, too much bun and not enough beef. There is a place to the south that isn't what it used to be, new owners, getting a little pricier and less beef also, but still a huge difference and better deal. This place gets crowded some times and is absolutely terrible to get out of the parking lot.

We tried the fish sandwich and it was absolutely delicious, nice big crispy piece of cod on a toasted and buttered hoagie that was so soft and delicious. The tartar sauce was delicious. I had the fried pickle spears and they were exactly what I was hoping for. Service was quick and friendly, music was quietly playing in the background so we could easily converse with each other. All around delightful experience.

My husband and I both had lightly battered, fried walleye cooked to perfection. I had the potato salad and the coleslaw and both were very tasty. It was complimented nicely with an onion slice and rye bread. My husband had fries and they were nice and crispy. The prices were reasonable. We both had $5 cocktails - whisky old fashioned sweet and rye old fashioned sour. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. We highly recommend River Street Pier.

We always loved getting Friday night perch at River Street Pier. It had been awhile, though, so we were excited to have dinner there this past Friday. What a disappointment.

As always, the staff is amazing. Friendly, fast and attentive. The food ? Not at all what it used to be.

We ordered perch, but we aren't sure that even got any. What we did get was very small, tough, perch shaped batter. There was literally nothing white and/or flaky to it that could be called perch.

For $55.00, it should be significantly better.

Visited on Friday Night and it was fantastic. The perch was amazing. The French Fries are so crispy. I had the bowl of chili with a side baked potato. Made it into a loaded potato with raw onions and cheese. Sooo good!

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it failed to deliver on nearly every front. The food was severely lacking in flavor—unseasoned, uninspired, and, worst of all, not fresh. For the price, I expected much higher quality, but what I received felt more like a rushed afterthought than a carefully crafted meal.

While the food left much to be desired, I will say that the service was a redeeming factor. The staff was attentive and kind, making the experience slightly more tolerable. However, good service alone does not justify the inflated prices or lackluster cuisine.

Don’t let the crowd fool you! Unless you find yourself with no other dining options, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. With so many great restaurants to choose from, there’s little reason to settle for a meal that is overpriced and underwhelming.

I would like to come back to this place for a second chance! My first time today, the atmosphere is very welcoming. Felt like I was visiting someone's mom's house which is nice. I came for the fish fry fridays and it was just ok. Not a lot of flavor and I feel like for $19 for the two butterflied Perch and sides was very expensive to me. Based on reviews, I had very high expectations. Nobody at my table cared for their food. The fries were cold and stale. The fish did not seem fresh. Seemed more like frozen. Sadly, turned out to be a disappointment. Their nachos are made from flour tortilla chips instead of corn, so that was a nice surprise.

Visiting from Indiana. Best Lake Perch next to our own famous Teibels in Northwest Indiana. Huge pieces of perch with a wonderful, light breading. Came with a massive amount of crinkle cut fries, delicious creamy coleslaw, & rye buttered bread topped with an optional onion slice. Everything was so scrumptious. The servers were all so pleasant with smiles on their faces every time they came to the table. Place was packed, as was bar, but food comes out so quick that wait is minimal.

When we first visited this place 4 yrs ago it was top notch! Great fish, good fries, great burgers! Awhile back I ordered a burger and fries and the fries were a soggy, greasy mess. Pointed it out to my server, they took my plate back to show the cook and brought it back with the original fries! Not fresh hot ones, just colder mush. Been back recently 2-3 times and the fries are barely hot and they taste stale! I have a problem when they screw up the easiest thing to make! It’s a fun place, service is great, but they gotta fix the kitchen issues. I’m now apprehensive about going there, I don’t like to complain, I just want a meal I know they are capable of making.

Old high school cafeteria. Never again. 2 ×22$= 55$ Perch dinners (After Tax) Small ice cream scoop of potato salad and coleslaw. When asked if I would like onion bread, I said sure I'll try it. Well, it was one piece of bread cut in half with butter and a slice of raw onion on top. I never would have guessed , nor would I ever eat it. Am I missing something? Has anyone heard of that? Ordered the captain’s catch, where you get to choose 3 different fish options (can’t double up on a fish) for $22.95, which comes with a choice of potato, coleslaw and light rye bread. My platter has cod, perch and shrimp with fries. The fish is really good and well breaded.

To drink I had a whiskey old fashioned sweet (or two) which is a necessity when having a Friday fish fry dinner in Wisconsin. They do not muddle them here, which is starting to become the norm at a lot of places, unfortunately. #bringbackthemuddle

This is an old school local fish fry and bar, and we had a great lunch here with great service. The wife and I both had a small perch lunch in late. One with potatoes salad and one with fries and they both came with cole slaw, onion, bread and butter. Everything was great, the perch was fried to perfection in a light batter. It was great with the bread, onion and a little tartar sauce. Crinkle fries were done well, and the potato salad tasted like homemade. As we’re getting ready to leave, a nearby table had their clam chowder and potato soup delivered and it looked so good we asked our server if she could bring us a cup of chowder, which she was happy to do. The chowder, like everything else, was perfect. Clams, potatoes, carrots and celery in a creamy broth. Very well done. Loved it all and will definitely return if or when we’re in the area again. Had a trip planned to see Ghost Concert. So we decided on a Friday fish fry. Randomly chose this hidden gem. This is hands down the Best fish fry I’ve ever had. Which says a lot because I fish & fry our catch. I ordered the walleye & boyfriend had the perch. The tempura breading was perfect & light fish was fresh and AMAZING! This is mostly a bar with some tables for dining. We brought our teenage boys for lunch as we read great reviews on the food. I'm glad our boys were older or we would have left. I was thinking bar & grill, like Applebee's. It's definitely more bar. The food was really great, though! I had walleye, my husband had Cod. One of our boys had a huge burger, and the other went light with a grilled cheese. We all shared bites because everything tasted so great! Our server was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. We would definitely go back again. Not what I would consider family friendly, only because I wouldn't bring younger kids in. The patrons at the bar were a bit loud and quite foul. The great food and service made up for it, to us.

I am not even rating the food. I placed a phone order and they said the order would ready in 20 mins. I never ate/ordered here before…saw good reviews, so thought I would give it a shot. I got there paid and than looked at the receipt and noticed it was $60 and I was expecting around $25. This what they said… did you see the menu only…yes. First time back to this restaurant in around 10 years and they still have the same amazing perch & clam chowder! Highly recommend you check them out!

Perch is good but make sure you check the prices before you order..... $$$$$ 3 people was over $90. Thats ridiculous!
