15 min for the surly waitress to take our order and then 60 min MORE for the food to come. I complained after 35 min and was told the food would be right out. NOT. The owner/cook sat in a booth and ate his lunch and never once did anyone apologize for the long wait. I will never go there again.

We were greeted and seated promptly. We didn't want a full lunch, so we ordered a plate of nachos and an order of cheese curds. After waiting for 30 minutes, we saw that multiple customers who came in after us received their orders before we got ours. Finally, our server plopped the nacho plate on our table, but no plates, and no cheese curds. We had to ask for both. The nachos were cold, and the meat was Hormel canned chili. We won't go back.

We met with family after church for breakfast. We had found the restaurant on the internet. We had never been here before and we were very pleased with the restaurant. It was very clean, the food was great, prices were reasonable and the service was great. We did have a little bit of a wait for our food but it was worth the wait. Like most places that you go to they are looking for help and a little bit of a wait is understandable. We go out for breakfast once a week and decided this will be one of our breakfast stops.

We've been going here since they opened. At first it wasn't that great but they were newly opened, so we didn't expect it to be top of the line. After awhile they worked out the kinks and we have enjoyed the food many times.
The food is always good but the service has been awful. We've walked out twice because of it. I have never walked out of a restaurant and this one, I've walked out twice.The waitress walked right by us, looked at us and ignored us. Didn't give us menus, or ask if we wanted drinks. They weren't busy either time that happened. If they were busy, I could understand slow service but even then, drop off the menus and ask about drinks so at least the people have something to drink while they wait. You could just tell the waitress didn't want to be there and didn't want to work.
The other night we went and again service was awful. There were 8 people in the whole place and it took almost an hour to get our food. Once the food came, the waitress never came back to ask us about refills or to give me the bill or a to-go box. My husband got tired of waiting and left to get the car. I finally chased down the waitress for a to-go box and didn't wait for her to bring the bill. I just went to the counter and waited. If I had to sit at the table and wait it would have been an even longer visit.
Almost an hour to get our meal, then we were finished with our meal for probably another 20 minutes before I got her attention. By that time we were the only people in there.
We live right by this restaurant and have given it plenty of opportunities for improvement but after the other night, we wont be going back anytime soon.

In the area for an activity. We stopped here based upon the reviews. We found a table easily as it wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon. We were met after a brief wait for drink orders which came out promptly. We placed our orders and that's where it went downhill. The food took the better part of an hour to arrive. If the place was slammed it would be understandable, however, it was fairly quiet. The food, once finally delivered was mediocre at best. The fried cod was not good, it had very little flavor and was completely dried out. The Ruben was ok, the bacon cheese burger was good according to my son. While I do understand that it's difficult to manage a kitchen when it's busy, as I mentioned twice it was not busy at all. There really was no excuse for the slow kitchen service, which, when compounded with the mediocre food earned this establishment a measly 2 stars. While a small town needs a convenient restaurant and bar, this one definitely misses the mark.

Great breakfast. Ordered eggs bacon hashbrowns and english muffin. The eggs were perfectly cooked to my order order of medium. The bacon was crispy and delightful. And the hasbrowns were wonderful. Service with a smile and a bottomless cup o joe. Felt satisfied, warm and fuzzy after. Had a smile on my face all day.
Only negative is the atmosphere is a little barren and stark, with not much privacy between tables and booths. But overall excellent. As Arnold says "I'll be back"

As an out of town or I was shopping at the Duluth trader outlet and decided I wanted some lunch. Took a chance here, and was really pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, and I am very picky about them. This one was top-notch- Piled high with superb shaved meat, no fat or gristle. And the french fries were a step up from standard fries, crispy and delicious. Place was spotlessly clean, and the service was prompt.

There was a bit of an echo in the main area, so everything seemed louder than it was.

Another update to the other previous reviews about all the other great food we have had there below. We tried out Taco Tuesdays a couple of times!!! They have the best fantastic delicious well made Fajitas, Burritos, Chimichangas etc. you could ever want!!! Seriously, this place is just great! :-)

Update to previous review. We have been back there many times since then. Always wonderful experience. They are having a hard time with the road closure South from Verona to Belleville. It is a Mom and Pop operation - which explains the good food and service. But due to the road closure they need help. Please keep on giving them your business. Even if it is a few extra minutes out of the way. They need to stay in business. There aren't many places like this left anymore. Thanks! :-)

I really do like it, the food is fine, and the service surprisingly is great. They have way too diverse a menu. They make everything okay and nothing great. If they cut the menu in half it would probably be better It's way too bright in the bar area and doesn't really "feel" like a bar. I can't see myself stopping in just for drinks. The restaurant is your basic hometown diner and it is perfectly fine as just that.

We came for dinner on Black Friday. There wasn’t much of a crowd, which is good because they aren’t fully staffed. Despite slightly slow service, it still gets five stars in my book because, for the price and area, the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Apparently, they have Mexican food on Sundays and Tuesdays so we’ll have to come back for even more deliciousness. I got the steak salad which featured a well seasoned steak and generous portions.

It was a very sad day when I was told that the Corner Cafe was closing. It had become a weekly meal place for me for several years. I was relieved tho to hear that Carlos and Carmen had purchased a building close to their old location and would be opening a new place once renovations were completed. Fast forward many months to the new River Ville Bar and Grill!! The new place is fantastic!! Updated and the same warm and friendly atmosphere!!! So I went here a couple of weeks ago with my girlfriend and unfortunately as much as I'd like to I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Here's what they did wrong.

- The have margaritas...at over 10 dollars each, filled with an assortment of chopped up fruit making them nigh impossible to actually drink

- The service is slow. We were one of three tables there...and yet it took our waitress 10 minutes easily to get back to us and another 20ish for two simple orders to come out

- They don't listen. My girlfriend had a very simple request for her sandwich. No mayo, no tomato. Wouldn't you know it it came out with both tomatoes and mayo on it, and the chef forgot the B in BLT so it came out without bacon. She was nice enough to bring it to us on a plate, but let me tell you nothing helps you enjoy a meal more than trying to put searing hot bacon onto your own sandwich. We didn't want sour cream on our appetizer and guess what? Came with a whole bunch on it followed by a nervous chuckle and an 'oopsie' from the waitress

- The price tag. What would you expect to pay for two margaritas, two normal sized BLTs and a small appetizer at a small restuarant? What's that? 40ish bucks? Oh no way, not here. Here you'll pay 60 dollars for the privelage of your expensive orders being wrong, waiting forever for service, and the food honestly just being not that well prepared.

I'm certain there are some good qualities to this place of food, there always is, but that's the problem you only get the once chance to make an impression on a new customer. They messed it up SO badly, that we will never be coming back and I suggest you not give them your business either.
