Very nice old timey supper club. Very good food and atmosphere. Not far from downtown dells, less than ten minutes, well worth a short ride. Service was excellent. Fast, efficient and friendly. We went there for drinks to check it out and got a good enough impression from that to come back the next day. First time there the kitchen was closing soon and I won't order food within 30 min of a kitchens closing time (my personal rule). When we went back for lunch they had a Wing special ($.75 ea) and the night before we saw a sign promoting a Prime Rib Sandwich and ff for $11.99. That's what we had, wings and prime rib sandwich. Those wings were some of the best I've ever had. They were large, fall off the bone tender and dripping in tasty sauce. The prime rib sandwich was fantastic too. I saw several other dishes being delivered to surrounding tables and everything looked really good. This place will be very high on my list any time I find myself anywhere near to it. I would highly recommend, with confidence, Rivers Edge to friends, family and anyone who just wants a great dining experience. Bon appetite!

Absolutely love River's Edge, come here year round many times. Kids love seeing the decor and fish! Friday night very busy with fish/chicken buffet. Courtney, Courtney, Courtney, remember this name! My wife & I came in around 9:45 a.m today, Monday morning 9/22/25 for breakfast. Rivers Edge is always a great value for food,, quality, price & service, especially today for the service. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by a sweet young lady to sit where we like. Courtney was her name. This review is about her and her amazing attitude and work ethic. Courtney was working the bar, serving drinks & food there. She also worked the entire dining area, taking orders, serving food, bussing tables, answering phone calls & collecting payment. She literally ran from one area to another, never once losing her smile or asking to make sure we were all doing ok. Customers kept rolling in and all received the same welcome. We got exhausted watching her, yet amazed at her efficiency & attitude. We wish we could have helped her, she was on her own since 7:30, help was supposed to arrive at 10:30. We were out by 10:50, no help yet! At a couple points, some kitchen staff did help deliver food, thank goodness for them. Management / Ownership is extremely lucky Courtney was there! She deserves a big fat raise, bonus or some extra recognition. It’s a shame other help or a Manager wasn’t available. Courtney never once complained, just plugged away with a smile! Any Resturant would be lucky to have her! Courtney is an amazing young lady!

Some friends traveling through choose this place to meet up and have dinner. The menu has many options and daily specials. The food was very good and our waitress "Candy" was excellent! I was a little taken back by the bartenders inability to acknowledge a new arrival sitting in the bar stool with money out waiting to order a drink. I truly understand a full bar and what it takes to make everyone happy...but at the very least in one of her 8 times in passing me if she could have just said " Hi, I will be with you shortly" then a guy would know she wasn't just ignoring him...other than that I will definitely return to eat here again.

Special on Monday night was 10 oz. top sirloin, choice of potato, dinner salad and bread sticks for $22.99. Steak was cooked to order and served piping hot. This log cabin inspired restaurant has it all. Great food, wonderful friendly service and wilderness Wisconsin atmosphere. Right by the river, fish are swimming in several tanks around the dining areas. There's a tree in the bar! Animals are watching you. Just go and enjoy!

The steak quality was awful compared to what they were asking for ($32) T-bone was gritty and was a sad color, the 16 ounce was more like a 4 ounce once the fat was fully trimmed. The chicken Alfredo was mid, it was more watery than flavor. The sauce was inconsistent and the broccoli wasn’t drained properly after being steamed. I also found the staff rude as well, our drinks were forgotten about. We had to remind the waitress that our drinks were missing. We got the food before drinks. Very disappointing experience.

We visited River's Edge Pub and Grub during a recent vacation. This restaurant is part of a cabin type resort.

The restaurant is rather large with lots of seating. The setup is sort of weird as the hostess station is near the front door, but the parking is at the back door, so you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the hostess station.

It was a bit busy when we were there, but not too bad. Service was a bit slow but our waitress had a large group right before us, so I think that delayed our service.

We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer which were good. I ordered the Walleye Filet sandwich and didn't care for it. The fish had a "lakey" taste to it. My family both ordered burgers and said they were good.

I would consider going back again and would get the cheese curds, but would order something else for the entree.

We went there on a Friday night so that we could go through the all you could eat fish buffet. They had very good fried fish as well as baked fish.

We did have to wait for just a few minutes, but it wasn't that bad. Parking was okay but I didn't notice any handicap accessible parking designated for that reason. It was very loud and somewhat crowded, but that's to be expected because it's a very popular place.

I don't know what a high end gastropub is doing in the tiny town of Hillsboro, and I REALLY don't know how they can make meals so exceptional at such reasonable prices. The blackened walleye was ***no hyperbole*** the best I've ever had. It was like $17 and you get three sides and the salad bar. The service was quick and cheery and the dining room setup was cozy and comfortable. On a side note, we didn't stay at the hotel because we live fairly close, but this almost seems like it belongs in a resort town. It's much nicer than I would have expected for the location. I almost wanted to get a room instead of driving back to Black River Falls!

It was fish, coated in flour/water batter & deep fried, no seasoning, no salt, ugh. Chicken was fried so long, the meat was dry & hard. You can't cook breasts as long as you need to cook legs/thighs. Just.don't. The non-hard but dry pieces were only made edible by the butter/garlic sauce that was really for the baked fish?? The crust had flavor, although dark dark brown. Accompanied by canned pork & beans. The cole slaw was good. The tartar sauce tasted more like miracle whip with relish - tooooo sweet. Husband had a chef's salad. It was 99% arugula? Chef salad on dandelion leaves basically. He was disappointed but hungry. The lime margarita was just right, but wish it had come in a marg. glass instead of a tumbler. It must be the shear volume of customers in touristy areas that keep these restaurants afloat. So far, the restaurants we've visited in this area are zero out of three for return trips. I would pass on the Friday Fish Fry here if I were you.

This is our son's favorite place. He has a core memory of pushing his grandma in a wheelchair at this location. He was very proud of himself as he was much younger then. Fast forward to today and this is the place he wants to go every year for his birthday.

Adequate but not stellar. Food was truly pub-like food, and drinks. Took a while to get the food, and was then rushed with bill..I guess shift swaps in play at time of dinner.

It's definitely adequate to eat, ~4 out of 5, so no worries there, but don't expect anything crazy memorable.

Another nice Wisconsin Supper Club.
I had the scallops, outstanding.
And the blackberry old fashion was very well received by all that ordered.
I will go there again.
