I would recommend this coffee company espeacially if one wanted a cup, between the hours 8am & 2pm. I'm curious why we aren't open earlier? Not everyone has a expresso machine at home (or a home).

I think 6:30 to 2:30 would make more sense but perhaps its easier to cut hours than promote and create incentives for sales growth.

I hope we are not losing our passion for the adorable store/company.

My father had us look up and down the block before we locked the doors just incase someone might be running a tad late. He did not want to disappoint his customers and we'd never ever "say sorry we are closed", but "hey, we are just locking up, but what do you need?. We can serve you".
Implementing the early bird speacial maybe caffine and bakery ( paklava) only for first hour and speacials to reduce left over product in the afternoon.

I had to go to panera for coffee this morning at 7:15. I wanted to rinse my hands because the self serve coffee machine was sticky.
The restroom in the customer lobby was locked with a code I asked may I use the restroom to rinse this off my hands and I was told no, it's for employees only.

No damp cloth was offered, I saw no one coming to wipe the sticky handle on the machine... I walked out and saw the undercover with his tag a little displayed..., also a guy who was struggling to survive sitting on a bus bench... and my thoughts....

What is wrong with our society? Hospitality ? .... care for our brothers and sisters...
Our justice system is for sale to the highest bider.

Sometimes, it's just nice to have that small cafe that still upholds the values of serving one another.

Keeping an eye out for one another. Not trying to do the right thing, not wishing it were different, but doing the right action as the opportunity to serve presents itself.

Yes, I'd recommend this place. I can not recommend panera bread on north. I would not trust them to be hospitable.

The aroma alone drew me in, and the coffee did not disappoint, smooth, bold, and full of flavor. You could tell they were brewing with quality beans and real passion.

The staff was super friendly and kept the line moving fast, even during the morning rush. They had a great variety of drinks, from strong espresso to iced lattes, something for everyone. It was the perfect pick-me-up between rides and live music.

We hired Roast for our wedding at the Schlitz Audubon Nature center, and their team did an incredible job! All of the drinks were absolutely delicious. That night alone, I had 4 different guests approach me just to say how much they loved the coffee bar and specifically how good it was! It was a huge hit and was definitely one of the highlights of the event. I have zero regrets splurging on this as our fun extra vendor that everyone got to enjoy.

We went to the Roast coffee shop to do a tasting and got to pick 5 signature lattes (for free!) which was so much fun. Ryan, the owner, made our drinks for the tasting himself. We brought a few friends which was a good idea after all the caffeine we had! All of them were delicious. Roast also makes the custom signage for the event, they matched the artwork on our wedding website perfectly. All drinks are served in actual mugs which is a nice touch, and you can get them regular/decaf/with multiple milk options etc for those with allergies or who don't want caffeine at night.

Some tips for anyone who decides to have them at their wedding/event:

We did a "first sip" instead of cutting of the cake which was a great idea. Not only was it unique, but it also showed our guests where it was so that people actually used it. I did make an extra announcement stating that it was open during dinner which I think helped too. Other side benefits were that my husband and I were able to make sure that we got a coffee drink (I think I would have been so busy I would have forgotten otherwise), and multiple guests stated that the caffeine boost gave them the energy to dance after a heavy meal. Like 95% of our guests stayed until the very end and the dance floor was packed the entire time! One guest also got creative and was able to make an espresso martini by combining the barista and bar services. So many options!

It was a pleasure working with Roast from day 1 through the wedding day. We would definitely recommend anyone to work with Roast especially if coffee is as important to them as it is to us!

Roast sent their coffee truck out to the Great Beyond Festival, with Fish at the helm. Talk about going above and beyond. Fish was so lovely all weekend and provided so much to all the festival goers. This was the first coffee shop I stopped in when I first moved to Milwaukee. The Championship and Radio Milwaukee sandwiches had me coming back! I always find myself returning particularly in the fall. I love their Harvest Latte, and I'm not an espresso person, but their chai and matcha (my go-tos) are also excellent. This is a great place to park yourself for a sandwich and a good craft drink; the service is quality and no-fuss. The vibes are very "Milwaukee" with the brick, wooden features, and groovy bar. The space is small and sometimes a little cramped, so it's best fitted for a solo or small gathering of folks. It's a hot spot for students for good reason, in walking distance to campus, and very tasty sandwiches that come in less than $10, not common these days!

The next time I went here i asked for a smoothie and they said they were out of strawberries, and mangoes, so i got a pineapple smoothie. Then they said they were out of straws. I used to frequent this coffee shop when I was doing my undergrad degree and masters at UWM (2018-2021). It is a great place to study with nice coffee and a good variety of breakfast sandwiches (as opposed to some cafes which simply have bakery goods). The GGOOLLDD is my personal favorite food item.

Today was the first time I’ve been here in 3-4 years as I was out of Wisconsin and the country for an extended period. What prompted me to write this review is that when the owner Ryan walked in, he immediately looked at me and recognized who I was.

To me, it’s the little things that differentiate a good place from a great place. The fact Ryan was able to recall who I was after years and came to say hello and ask how I’ve been speaks volumes to the kind of person he is and how he runs his business.

It’s people like this and places like this that I personally will go out of my way to support. I firmly believe you won’t be disappointed by coming to Roast.

I love coming to roast everyday between my classes. It’s the perfect place to take a break or do some studying. Abby is an amazing barista and she always gives suggestions that I love. I enjoy talking to and seeing everyone who workers here! The espresso is the best I will never get over it.

Went here in the middle of a snowstorm, so happy they were open! We were met with super friendly service and lots of smiles from Abbie! The hot chocolate was very rich and the coffee was unique and tasty! Warmed us up for sure!

We regularly have Roast come to our office and cater espresso drinks for our staff, and they are a hit! The nicest employees who make the best drinks. Would highly recommend them for any of your catering needs. The brick and mortar cafe is also a great spot to visit if you’re on the East Side.

Roast has been one of my favorite coffee shops for years! I used to walk there all the time for a quick cup of coffee when I lived by UWM. Now, my workplace has them come to us for a couple hours on special occasions! Their vanilla bourbon iced coffee is my favorite. Give them a try!
