It was my first time in Jefferson last night & I'm so happy I found this gem 💎 It was a warm & welcoming experience with a family-run touch that makes it a Cheers type vibe. It has a beautiful river view that the sun was just setting on when I arrived. Plus the food is DELICIOUS & FRESH. The locals were all friendly and made me feel so welcomed that this is the kind of place I would be a regular at if I lived nearby. Shopped online before stopping in for a burger to go, not $6.99 for the protein as listed online. I was charged $11.43 for the burger, $.52 to go and $.52 for the cheese as well as $2.08 for French fries, my choosing. By the time I tipped it was very close to a $20 burger and fries. Great food and service. We sat at a table that sais order at the bar but the busy lady bartender gracious waied on us. Very friendly place. Some noisy locals at the bar but we're friendly and apologized for their loud comments. I had the amazing Rock Botyom burger and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. Treated my cousin to lunch here today. My very first time at this establishment. Very impressed. Love what the ownership did to refurbish and use this building for this purpose. Very well thought out. I heard about this place because I was watching a Milwaukee Brewers game, which I do almost every game, and this place was announced as the Brewers Tavern of the Game winner. Heard this place was located in Jefferson, which is just a few miles south of me here proceeded to look it up here on Google maps and when I seen the brisket grilled cheese sandwich I decided this was a must to go check this place out. 100% absolutely satisfied! That was a very delicious sandwich, and the beer fries were pretty awesome as well. So much so, that now I need to go back and check out other items on this menu.👍🏼

It was a little confusing knowing if we had to order at the bar (they had alternative seating). It turns out they wait on you at the tables.
The food arrived quickly. The bartender was the only one there as far as wait staff and couldn't be as attentive as I would have hoped.
We were there around 2:00 p.m. and it was nice and quiet and my friend and I could hear our conversation.

Good food, and not super expensive but the owner was kind of a jerk when asking about drinks.. my partner asked about a spotted cow beer and he was very snarky about not having it. And when we ordered our food and drinks we ordered coke products without knowing they only served Pepsi, which is fine but we should’ve been told it was going to be Pepsi and not cokes that we ordered. If we were, we would’ve gotten different drinks. Place is definitely one of those up the butt, only locals allowed type bars. Also had a ring camera watching everyone in the dine in room which struck me as very odd and unprofessional. I wouldn’t give this place my money and time again.

Currently going through some of the worst food poisoning I've ever had from here. This is the only place we stopped to eat at yesterday and when we ate some of the fried food we kind of thought it tasted like fish or like they fried it in the oil the fish was cooked in? Anyways shortly after, we started feeling super sick and it continued all through the night and now into today. Vomiting & diarrhea, I already did not like bar n grills because they usually are less sanitary so this just made my mind on them. Just be cautious.

Rock Bottom Express is... well, kinda like the bar in the iconic TV series Cheers. No, the bar decor is not like Cheers. It's the people. The bartenders (usually women, in my experience) are fun, friendly, and engaging. And, yeah, just like Cheers, people drop in and and within minutes they're talking with complete strangers and paying for a round as if they'd known them since high school. And there is a group of Freemasons from Jefferson County Lodge who drop in every couple of weeks around 9 p.m., instantly enlivening the bar.

The selection of beers and liquors could be better and the bar could certainly use some food (beer nuts, chips, typical bar food), but, since that's not yet up-to-par, I have not provided a food rating and their overall rating reflects that.

I would give 0 stars if possible. The only plus side was the young man working behind the bar was friendly. We asked the original lady behind the bar what was on the pork nachos. She stated pork, cheese, black bean and corn salsa and chipotle sauce. We asked for the sauce on the side. When they arrived there was no salsa to be found and shredded cheese that was just tossed on top. We asked for them to be sent back to melt the cheese. (The picture below is after they came out a second time) The cook openly talked about us to other customers because we asked why the cheese wasn’t melted on the nachos. She told other patrons “sorry we don’t use cheese sauce, that’s probably what she expected.” We didn’t expect cheese sauce but have never had nachos that didn’t have melted cheese. How do you eat them when the shredded cheese just falls off??? While I appreciate that they were removed from the bill the whole experience was awkward at best. I’m not typically one to leave reviews but there is no excuse for that cooks behavior, she was just plain rude.

We went out for a simple anniversary meal and originally was going to go to Herons Landing because we haven't but was advised otherwise via family recommendation due to multiple bad experiences. The experience started out top shelf until an unruly customer walked in without any intervention by the bartender. Unfortunately that patron sat right next to me and was prior military as am i. I spent 45 minutes helping defuse their anger and perspective. After helping them walk out the bar under great encouragement I was HonorBound to pay the $8 tab they left behind. Even after all that and having not displayed any type of reason to be disregarded the bartender thank me for helping but yet when new patrons arrived I was completely neglected in a second round for myself. Great little town gem! I'm guessing the building used to be the old train station. Scenic view. And the burgers are on point! Mushroom and Swiss had fresh sauteed mushrooms and plenty of Swiss. The Bourbon Burger was said to be top notch by my friend. Looked tasty I'll say. Drinks were good. Waitress was friendly. Couldn't have had a better dining experience. Show some love to this place.
