The waitress was friendly enough but I was the only person dining in and felt like she was hoping I'd leave soon. I had hoped to relax there awhile since I'm traveling and was eating a full meal. She wasn't rude- it was just a vibe. Also, I was charged for seasoned fries but hadn't been asked if I wanted that upgrade. I was under the assumption my fries came with my meal. It wasn't a big deal so I didn't say anything, but would be nice if she'd have asked. Cute place otherwise.

Food wasn't frozen beforehand, everything is extremely fresh. Confused why there's a lot of comments saying otherwise, we came in at 2am after work. Met an owner who complimented my truck before even introducing himself which I found to be very respectful and a nice convo starter. We then spoke almost the entire time we ate, waitress was amazing. Super sweet Danielle I believe her name was, she kept us entertained and even told us of other items that looked extremely appetizing, I only ordered a mushroom and swiss burger and my lady ordered a basket jalapeño cheeseburger, we tried each other's burger, but when they brought our food out the owner had decided to give us free fries and even let us try out their nachos cheese sauce, the jalapeño burger isn't that spicy which is amazing for people who cant handle extreme spice, as for me I love spice, the nacho cheese was absolutely friggin' amazing. The best nachos cheese ive ever had, the mushroom and Swiss is phenomenal, i rarely eat with extra salt or pepper and in this instance I also didn't need them and I love that, flavor was spot on and the texture was amazing, you will literally taste how fresh the food is! Nothing was off. The vibe of the diner was old-school and welcoming. Almost like a family members kitchen/ dining room. I loved it made me feel at home. And to be taken such well care of at 2am is crazy. Most servers are drained tired and lazy, but our waitress was uppity happy and catering to us like a pro. I will always 100% recommend this diner to anyone who wants real good food. Our burgers had no pink, fried were nice and crispy, cheese was perfectly blended, and the soda was great. OMG, staff-*****, food, *****, shakes-*****. Came all the way from Rockford just to check this place out at 1AM (open 24 hours by the way) and we were stunned to say the least!!! Ordered the yellow cheese curds and Martian Monster Burger and OMG, wait till ya see the pics, the bacon was to die for NOTHING CHINTZY!!! The in house ranch was superb. Little sister got the double Mushroom Swiss and another OMG and onion rings and homemade batter. Five Star. Probably best review I have given yet or should be if not. We will drive here frequently now an hour away. You guys ROCK!!! KEEP IT UP!!! Keep that quality!!! BEST BURGERS and should be voted so for the entire area.

Not exactly sure what happened. I feel like wendy's served me a shitty wendy's chili quesadilla last night. Definitely regretted eating it this morning! I have never in my life been served a " quesadilla", or whatever that was... Like that before. I'm leaving this review after my first and only time there. I got a burger basket with all the fixings on it, french fries and a ice cold drink. I was assuming it came with regular fries and I received seasoned fries which had good seasoning, but I’m a Dialysis patient and they were super salty. I will know next time to specify plain fries.. It was $14.77 for my basket. As for the person that said they got a warm drink. I don’t know how when they serve it in a glass full of ice. And my seasoned fries were seasoned quite nicely if you like that type of french fry. It was nice being able to build the burger the way you want it just like five guys. I would eat there again.

We were waiting for them to open. And it was worth the wait we had the cheeseburger basket. My wife ordered hers with the onion rings and I had the fries. The onion rings are freshly battered and we're excellent the fries had special

Fries poorly cooked, no seasoning on anything, and everything is very bland. Upfront staff is friendly but being overly staffed they just stare at you while you eat…. I give it a year after the loan is in collections they’ll turn this into a laundry mat.

Disappointed with our experience at Rockin Rob’s in Janesville.
The place looked really fun and inviting from the outside, but unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. Upon entering, there was an unpleasant odor in the restaurant. I ordered a bottled soda, but it was warm. When I asked for a cup of ice, the cup they gave me was visibly dirty.

The food was also a letdown. The fries were battered, which wasn’t indicated anywhere on the menu — I don’t eat gluten, so that was a problem. The burger I ordered was so salty I literally spit it out. My husband didn’t even try his burger after seeing my reaction. He did try a fry and had the same reaction — the batter didn’t work for him either.

We spoke to the manager about the issues, but were met with attitude rather than understanding. He questioned how my husband could judge the burger without trying it, and implied we were just trying to get out of paying. I explained that we came to try a new local spot, but the food simply wasn’t edible for us. I even offered to pay for the soda, but in the end, he said we didn’t have to pay.
I did however pay for the sodas anyway.

Unfortunately, the encounter with the manager was just as disappointing as the food. Unprofessional and dismissive. We were really hoping for a better experience. Based off our experience we do not recommend Rockin Rob’s

I never leave bad reviews before I give it a second shot, but this time, I really dont think there will be a 2nd try. I paid over $21 for a meal for JUST ME! I figured, well the pictures online look amazing, hopefully its worth it! I also had thought I ordered for delivery but realized after I got the receipt email, that it was actually pick up. I called to see if I could switch it, and was told no! I was then told it would take an extra 25 min for my order to be ready for pickup. When I went to pickup I was handed my diet coke which was warm and not refrigerated. (No one wants warm soda with hot food... but wait.. the food wasn't even warm, it was cold!) I ordered mozzarella sticks as my side, marinara was no provided!! I ordered ketchup and ranch, also not provided! The mozzarella sticks were so over cooked and cold, that they rubbed the roof of my mouth raw! The burger was not at all good.. it was seasoned with too much pepper, and only tasted like pepper. I always want to support local restaurants but this is not one that I'll be coming back to. The price and the taste and service are not there! I sincerely hope you give it a better shot and rise above! Janesville is fully of many delish local restaurants and you have heavy competition. Good luck to you!

A super quaint place that is a throwback to the Happy Days. Very good service and fresh, hand made everything! I wasn't super hungry but needed something, so I ordered the fried cheese curds. What a delightful surprise to have a super light, crispy breading that didn't' overwhelm the flavor of the cheese! I was very satisfied when I left and knew it was more than enough.

Upon entering, the restaurant smelled. The server was distracted the whole time. Didn't offer to refill drinks and I had to ask twice. By the it made it to our table, we were done with our food. My order was made incorrectly and sent back to the kitchen. My husband was done eating by the time my food came back out. The food was awful - zero flavor and salt did not help. The batter on the fries and curd was gross, with absolutely no flavor. The pepper jack cheese curds tasted nothing like pepper jack. We both had upset stomachs all night. The owner came by to every table, which was nice but he talked a lot. Won't be back.

Went here for the first time tonight. Food was good. I do have recommendations however, I would love for the batter to be seasoned. I love that it is homemade and you can tell but give it something and fry a little longer. I love that the onions were thick cut for onion rings so many places fail for me on that one and these did not. There are definitely improvements to be made but everyone has to start somewhere! Unfortunately, the only good thing I ever had there was the regular cheeseburger. The fries were super bland and so were the onion rings, no salt to be found. The chicken sandwich was okay, but again still pretty bland. The bottles of soda they give you are not even refrigerated and are warm.

The staff was friendly and the vibe of the place was nice, but it did smell pretty bad inside. I have seen pictures from others where the food looked MUCH better than mine, so maybe after they have been open for a bit and are a bit more consistent I will visit again.

I do not give bad ratings easily, but this was terrible. Our waitress was extremely friendly and top notch. The cheese curd appetizer we ordered was pepper jack cheese curds, and the only flavor was the ranch dipping sauce. There was no pepper jack flavor at all, and the batter was extremely plain. Salt and pepper did nothing for them. The cheeseburger baskets left a lot to be desired. The tomato on mine had rotten spots on it. The fries were so undercooked that they were not edible. The onion rings had the same extremely plain batter and just no flavor. The place looks amazing, and our waitress was amazing, but the food was awful. Hopefully, this is a new cook, and things will get better. I won't be going back unless I hear things change for the better.

Hand made burgers, hand dipped onion rings and fries! Saw this place opened and decided to bring my daughter here for lunch. We love to check out new spots. I'm glad we did. I saw on a previous review that someone gave a 1 star review because of the size of the burgers. Anyone who has made burgers at home knows they shrink while cooking more than the pre-made ones, they also know they are better than the pre-made ones. I enjoy the homemade touch of this place. I also love to support local restaurants as 4 out of 5 new restaurants fail in the first year. Come give them a try and help keep a local restaurant open!

I won't spend too much time on the atmosphere, since I know this place is just getting off the ground. There is much yet to improve.

As for the food, however.... Highly disappointing. I was really looking forward to the homemade pepper jack cheese curds and I usually love seasoned fries. But whatever they use for batter is so plain and flavorless. I threw half of my fries out because I couldn't even bare it anymore. If not for the slight flavor of pepper jack, the cheese curds would have been equally flavorless.

As for the burger, it was alright. It wasn't super great, but I would say it's good. However, with Sidelines and Charlie's both right down the street, I cannot justify going back here until changes are made. I like good fries with my burger.

I do hope the owners will read a lot of these reviews and make improvements. I do not wish them to fail.
Pro tip for the owner: Keep it simple. Your fries are a flop. Order some seasoned fries from Sysco and call it good. Would probably make a world of difference!
See if there's a way to improve the batter for the cheese curds. It really is a great idea that you should keep... Just needs improvement!

I was genuinely excited to try something new in the neighborhood, so I gave Rockin’ Rob’s a shot tonight. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark. The interior felt a bit underwhelming—nothing memorable, and parts of it seemed unfinished.

The staff was friendly, but clearly disorganized. I was confused by the number of people behind the counter; at one point I counted six to eight different employees coming out of the kitchen. My biggest concern, though, was the lack of basic food safety. None of the staff appeared to be wearing gloves, and one employee was standing by the entrance smoking a cigarette—then walked straight back into the kitchen afterward. Not exactly appetizing.

The person I assumed to be the owner didn’t smile or seem particularly welcoming, which added to the odd vibe. The menu was also a bit chaotic, with several items sharpied out.

As for the food—my jalapeño burger was just okay. It was a frozen patty topped with nacho cheese and pickled jalapeños. The fries were soggy and undercooked, so I barely touched them.

All in all, it was a meh experience. Not the worst meal I’ve ever had, but definitely not one I’d go out of my way to repeat.

Got the seasoned fries and reg fries...couldn't tell the difference between em 🤷🏽‍♂️ nobody in that restaurant wears any kind of hair nets or gloves when handling your food. Also, the co-owner appeared a bit grungy. Rockin Rob's has much to improve to be welcomed in Janesville, imo. I understand they just opened but so didn't many other restaurants in Janesville. They could have been much more prepared. Also, hygiene shall be taken seriously in all areas of the workplace!!
