Saturday 10/4 experience after 6pm

I have supported Rocky Rococco for decades and I’ve never had an experience like this before…..

1st things first to the short Latina Lady who took my order, greeted me with a smile, was very kind and polite, THANK YOU!!! I have seen you at different Rocky’s locations and you have always been top knotch when it comes to hospitality.

Now for the awkward non interaction.

There was a white male in his 30’s or 40’s taller with a hat on and wearing glasses and a black shirt.

He did not acknowledge me, he didn’t thank me for my business, he didn’t welcome me, he didn’t even smile nor, did he say hi!

He stood directly behind this Latina employee STARING AT HER POINT OF SALE SYSTEM…

1 shame on him for not acknowledging his paying clients and 2 What were you doing? He clearly wasn’t training as he was going back and forth independently in the employee area.

I don’t know if there are new owners or managers at this location, definitely not very inviting as a company.

I’m willing to continue to support and spend 1,000’s a year on my favorite pizza,

If Rocky’s is willing to make this experience right for me.

This would probably be the best Rocky Rococo's location in Madison. I like that they have an arcade there, and it makes me feel like I'm in a Pizza Hut in the 1980's because of that. The spaghetti at this location was delightfully delicious. If anyone is in Madison and wants to grab a bite at Rocky's I would most recommend this location.

Me & my family have been going here for years . By far my favorite location, tables are cleared quickly. Salad bar is fresh . Most staff specifically Virginia are very friendly but she always goes above by remembering orders & faces making the overall experience more enjoyable.

I’ve been a loyal Rocky Rococo customer for years. My family orders once or twice a week, and my mother worked at the old west side location over 20 years ago. We’ve loved Rocky’s for a long time, so this review comes from someone who genuinely supports the brand.

That said, I’ve had two disappointing delivery experiences just this week. I always request that the pizza box be taped shut to ensure it hasn’t been tampered with during delivery. Usually, that request is honored. But both earlier this week and again today, the tape was missing.

Today, after the delivery driver handed me the pizza, I called the store immediately to let them know the box wasn’t taped. Then I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, came back, and opened the box—only to find the pizza extremely overcooked. I ordered the thin crust, which I usually enjoy, but this time it was so overdone it felt like biting into a cracker. There was no cheese pull, no softness—just a hard, dry pizza.

We’re big Rocky fans. If we’re not ordering delivery, we’re picking it up ourselves. And when I order from the Monona location (even though it’s farther), they always seal the box properly with a sticker and never miss the details. I gave the benefit of the doubt the first time, but the second time felt more like neglect than an accident.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously—because we love Rocky’s and want to keep supporting it. But the quality and care have to be consistent. The picture of the one with half sausage and half pepperoni is the one from today. The picture with that just sausage because I had got a pan pepperoni with that order The other order you can see the clear difference like that is a shame and it’s not cheap to get two pizzas from Rocky’s . The other one was made so good. I was taking video and pictures cause I was post on TikTok

The slice of sausage/mushroom I ordered for pick-up had "seen it's better days." Or, hopefully, it just saw its better "hours." It was very disappointing, and didn't get eaten. Service was satisfactory as it was bagged at the exact time I arrived. Wait, that doesn't confirm freshness, just fast service.

My only complaint was the pizza I got was very doughy. I don't know if it had been sitting too long and everything got soggy or if it was undercooked. It was gross. I just ate the toppings and left it at that. I let the counter know. I did not give them the chance to "make it right." I didn't feel there was a need since I had eaten all the toppings. Plus I was full with that and breadsticks.

I think this Rocky's is under new Ownership/Management and they are doing a stellar job! I always liked this location as the staff seemed well trained and efficient but the new staff takes that to another level. They are friendly, efficient and always seem to offer a suggestion that makes the order even better. If you haven't dined here recently you owe it to yourself to stop back in. June 2025 is when I'm writing this.

I'm here from Australia for a few days, and rockys is literally 50 metres from where I am staying..I love my pastas, and I must say that with out a doubt, there chicken fettuccine, and spaghetti bol, with meatballs, was by far the most outstanding that I have ever had in my 65 years, and that is saying something..Excellent, Excellent food, excellent service at very very reasonable prices 😀 It's 11 out of 10 from me !

This is a nice little place for kids and families. They have a one-time trip salad bar as well if you're not into pizza. Huge as well, plenty of seating. There were a lot of kids in here when we went, definitely a good family hangout place.

Rocky's is a Madison institution. Some love it, some not so much. I'm in the former category.
This particular Rocky's is a great place to go for lunch. There's plenty of parking, lots of seats, and the staff is friendly. They even have a fireplace you can sit next to on cold days.
I always order a super slice and a salad. The salad bar is your typical pizza place salad bar, but that's fine for me.
I like to find a booth or a table next to the fireplace and camp out for a little while reading the paper and eating my lunch.
If I had to make a suggestion, I'd suggest they allow you to pick up your slice after you finish your salad. Rocky's can sometimes degrade a little if you let it sit too long.

Hard to complain about a Wisconsin institution like Rocky Rococo but (at least at this location) it seems like the trend is downward.
The food was average at best. The Super Slice (Uncle Sal) was tepid at noon and the usually solid salad bar was a mess.
Messy doesn't begin to do justice to the dining area. With several staff hanging out behind the counter the "cook" put on an apron and began to bus the 20 tables that were full of customers trash. The "front of house" staff should have helped out more instead of making sure the country music was turned up to 11.
Probably going to the westside Rocky's from now on.

The Beltline location is just over a mile from where I live, but next time I will go out of my way to the Monona Drive restaurant after the debacle here this evening. I ordered a pizza with a pickup time of 7:15. I arrived early so that I could get a salad, but the salad bar was already being shut down. I was not greeted with so much as 'Hello' and it appeared that not a single employee there knew how to smile. While waiting for my pizza, an argument broke out between the staff regarding another customer's order, which was also screwed up. I was told at least twice that my order 'will be out in a minute' before someone finally stepped up and told me that my pizza would have to be remade. It was 7:40 before I finally left. I appreciate that this was made into a medium pizza instead of a small, but it still doesn't make up for the cold, dismal service. This is not the first time I've experienced this here, but it will definitely be the last.

Amazing service, and extremely friendly staff. I made a mistake and placed my order at this location when i meant to place it at mineral point. I had made the order 40 mins before closingd. I showed up at the mineral point location at 7:58 thinking my food was there, i was told it was at the beltline hwy location. I was so worried about them being closed when i got there, but even though i was 10 minutes late they had kept there doors unlocked for me and were very friendly. Horrible customer service does a lot of false advertising tried ordering wheat crust staff says “we haven’t had for the last year” when we have a receipt stating wheat crust and that was in April 2024 and it’s August 2024 they don’t stay opened to there store hours i recommend sugar river pizza way better customer service and food all the way around I see the franchise either goin bankrupt or all the way gone within the next 2 years

My order was wrong after waiting 15-20 minutes for it. Fresh but wrong.
The pizza didn't have much of a flavor at all.
Paid for garlic butter that they were out of. They took it upon themselves to present me with other sauces as replacements that in didn't want not use rather than asking me it refunding me.
The Parmesan used for the bread sticks was flavorless as well. They didn't have a flavor and were very soggy bottomed with a layer of grease or butter or something. Just overall lacking flavor really.

I do not enjoy being a hater. I rarely write a review. But this is possibly the grossest pizza I’ve ever had. It arrived wet. I got the stuffed crust and it tasted like corn dogs.. I’ve worked in food service before, leads me to believe the cheese is being kept near uncovered raw meats or it’s also uncovered and it’s soaking up smells in the freezer. It just felt gross to eat. Had a lingering smell to is. Also delivered lukewarm but whatever I guess. Feels criminal to spend near $50 for delivery. Hopefully I don’t get sick. It doesn’t feel sanitary at all.

Was visiting from Minneapolis, MN last weekend, and Rocky's never dissapoints! This pizza hasen't changed since I was a kid, and is outstanding! The pizza is great, and the staff was very friendly! We have only one Rocky's left in the Twin Cities area, and I wish you would open more stores in the Minneapolis area! Back in the 80's the Twin Cities had 5 locations, please consider opening up more in MN! So many great memories with Rocky's and my family growing up. Thanks!
